Character Voice Tag
I was tagged by the kind and ever lovely @rbbess110. Check his post out here!
the name of the game: rewrite the phrases given to you in the character of your own ocs and provide some phrases of your own! (as a dialogue bitch I FUCKING LIKE THIS)
my lines:
"I'm sorry."
"I need help."
"I really appreciate you."
"I'm sorry.":
Menodora: It would be foolish of me to pretend I am perfect. No one is really, and everyone who appears to be is-- Nevermind. ...Anyway, I admit it wasn't my best moment. I will refrain from repeating this action in the future.
Benjamin: Oh, I didn't mean to do that. I'll make it up to you, sorry.
Apollo: Shit, dude. I'm really sorry.
"I need help.":
Menodora: Are you busy? I have something that needs your attention.
Benjamin: Could you lend me a hand for a moment?
Apollo: Hey, I need your help with something.
"I really appreciate you.":
Menodora: Often I find that the best company is myself. I think it is only in the company of people like you that I start to doubt that. Not completely, you're insufferable, but a little. Thanks for that, I guess.
Benjamin: I hope you know that I appreciate you. Life is more fun with you around. I can only try to return the favor, huh?
Apollo: You know, I really fucking appreciate you. Things have been crazy lately, but you're always there by my side and it's... It's honestly really nice. Thank you.
my lines for YOU the reader:
"Fuck you."
"I missed you."
"Are you okay?"
@deviljayman. @squarebracket-trickster, @bluberimufin, @bardicbeetle (unsure if you do tag games, if not ignore this), and whoever else wants to do this! I meant it when I said YOU

Later, they went on to have three more children...:////D
Below is an artwork and additional description!
Since Sydney doesn’t have a set surname, I temporarily used Ivy's surname, "Reinhart." The children’s first names were chosen by Sydney, while their middle names were picked by Ivy. While deciding on their middle names, I realized I hadn’t given Ivy a middle name either…
Their first birth was identical twins! I wanted the two boys to each inherit different aspects of Sydney—Daniel representing his pure side and Benjamin embodying his bolder, more confident traits. (yes, I’m referring to p!Sydney and c!Sydney!)
As for their third child, Beatrice, I wanted her to resemble Ivy from her childhood. While Ivy now seems calm and graceful, she was likely quite shy when she was younger.
I think Sydney would want a big family, and while Ivy seems calm and quiet on the surface, she actually prefers a lively and bustling atmosphere. She doesn’t show it openly, but she feels quite lonely. She also has a soft spot for children (she got along well with orphaned kids!). So, as long as they have the means, I believe they’d have lots of children...:///)

The Disability Library
I love books, I love literature, and I love this blog, but it's only been recently that I've really been given the option to explore disabled literature, and I hate that. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be able to read about characters like me, and now as an adult, all I want is to be able to read a book that takes us seriously.
And so, friends, Romans, countrymen, I present, a special disability and chronic illness booklist, compiled by myself and through the contributions of wonderful members from this site!
As always, if there are any at all that you want me to add, please just say. I'm always looking for more!
Edit 20/10/2023: You can now suggest books using the google form at the bottom!

Reverend Guilford Larimer Speaking about Burnside School
Record Group 21: Records of District Courts of the United StatesSeries: Civil Case FilesFile Unit: Anthony P. Burroughs, et al. v. Benjamin Willis, et al. v. the Board of Education of the City of Chicago and Benjamin C. Willis
December 16, 1959
Rev. Guilford Larimer--Representing Chesterfield Community Council--
Speaking about Burnside School, 91st Place and Langley Ave.
I speak this morning representing the Chesterfield Community Council
and its concern with the overcrowded conditions at Ambrose Burnside School.
Perhaps the most direct method would be to list the conditions at the
school and then present for your consideration what we think will help rem-
edy these conditions on two levels, the long run and the immediate future.
Simply stated, the problem is this: there are far too many children for
the facilities of the school. Here are the facts:
1) The ratio of pupils to teachers is 40.9-1
2) Perhaps an even more importation ratio is that of pupils to actual class
rooms. This is 45-1
3) I say actual class-rooms because there are classes meeting
a)on the stage of the auditorium
b)in the teachers' lounge
c) in the teachers' cafeteria
d) in the library.
It is an understatement to say that adequate teaching cannot be done under
these circumstances.
4) In the last five yearsthe enrollment at Burnside has had a net gain
of about 500, bringing it over the 1600 mark at the present time. And the
future promises no relief from this pressure. Due to the change in the racial
character of the neighborhood, which has seen families with young children
replacing many middle-aged and older folks whose children are now grown, and
due to the extensive building in the area between South Park and Indiana Ave.
and 87th and 95th Sts., all of which is in the Burnside district, there is
every reason to believe that the load on the school will continue to increase.
Here then is the problem. In view of the plans for building indicated
in the tentative budget for 1960, and keeping in mind an already pressing
situation, we offer the following for your consideration:
1) For future needs, not only of Burnside School, but of the larger
area bounded by 87th, 95th, State, and the Illinois Central tracks, we strong-
ly recommend the building of a full 8 grade school on the McDade site at 88th
and Indiana. We submit that a minimum figure of $600,000 rather than $300,000
is more in keeping with both the present and the future need in that area.
We feel that the present plans which would culminate in the building of a
school accomodating approximately 250 pupils would be an unrealistic approach
in view of the fact that there are already 537 children now attending Burn-
side who live in the area bounded by 87th, 95th, South Park and Indiana.
2) Along with the building of McDade we then would recommend re-district-
ing, moving the western boundary of the Burnside district to South Park Ave.
3) For Burnside's immediate needs we request the following alternatives
as providing a measure of temporary relief--
a) Build "portables" on the Burnside grounds
b) Consider the use of the facilites of Tuley Park for some class-
es. This park is in the block diagonally adjoining the school property.
c) Consider the use of the facilities of Vincent Methodist Church
for class-rooms. The church is immediately across the street from the school.
There are, no doubt, many factors to be considered in these remarks,
not the least of which is the availability of money for building. We do not
presume to be experts in this field. But we do justly claim a great concern
that the children of our neighborhood have the best education possible.
Under the present circumstances at Burnside, we know that this educational
process is severely hampered.

"on the town with the league of gentlemen" thoughts!
(bearing in mind that i have not fully [re-]watched the tv series yet)
i almost prefer it to the tv series? which is weird bc no visuals. but the immediacy of the audience connection makes it feel a bit less uncomfortable. (yes i am a wuss, what am i doing in this fandom :P)
ditto the fact that literally all of the parts are played by them, inc misc small children, etc!
LOVE the way in which this ends up subverting chloe and radclyffe away from the classic creepy twins trope XD mark is having so much fun :'D
general fascinated nerding-out over the ways certain scenes/characters/arcs do/don't change/evolve between the two versions/to suit the strengths of the different media 8)
soft spot for some of the characters that don't appear in the tv series, e.g. Answerphone Man, Reg Ingleby :D some delightful voice work <3
i am worse at telling apart their voices (when the characters are unfamiliar) than i thought i would be :P i think i mostly got it though
two whole scenes which reece carries by having a duologue between himself?? (stella/reg, bernice/benjamin.) which rarely if ever happens in the tv series? even though they could easily get around it with camera angles/lack of live audience? FUN.
(maybe sometimes the others too but lbr i'm only paying attention to reece)
feels like getting the makeup on really helped reece round geoff out properly :P
the way the lack of visuals means that when a reece character is suffering he properly goes hard on the whining and whimpering in order to sell it :3
i feel like barbara is a bit more humanised (/less dehumanised) in the radio version!! she gets a romance arc and everything. justice for barbara < / 3
you know when you consume a media when you're like 12 and you pick up a meme from it that just becomes part of your vocabulary forevermore without really remembering the origin? OH SO THAT'S WHY in my head it's mandatory to mock-argue about whether the trivial pursuit counters are wedges of cheese or pieces of pie :D that was a pleasant little brain clunk :)
(for the record i'm with stella)
hoist by my own pet toad THEY FUCKING WENT THERE XD can't remember if this ended up in the tv series too, but if it didn't, they're cowards :P
all in all, strong recommend, lots to enjoy, wish there was more meta about it :')
#tlog#on the town with the league of gentlemen#reece shearsmith#also the rest of them but you couldn't tell from this post :P#sheece rearsmith

1/2 I got the paperback version too. I always wanted the hardcover version, but that one came with ridiculously high shipping costs D: Anyway, that's a vast collection you got there. There's some stuff I didn't even know existed, like the unofficial water tribe volumes. From a quick google search, it looks like a fancomic about Zhao? Was it popular back in the day? Then you have stuff I wouldn't have expected you to own, like the Zuko graphic novel, or as I like to call it, the atla manga xD
The 'Water Tribe' comic is, technically, a fan-comic about Zhao, but what distinguishes it is that it's written and drawn by a storyboard artist who actually worked on both AtLA and LoK, and did official comics for AtLA. It's been contradicted by Zhao's cameo in LoK, but the look and feel are IMO the closest you can get to the original animated series, so it goes on the shelf with my official Avatar comics.
I actually got it signed at the same time as the Zuko graphic novel, as Johane Matte and Benjamin Wilgus were sharing a table at NYCC. I had brought my own copy of Zuko's Story and purchased the Zhao comic there, but Wilgus got confused and thought I had purchased everything just then. So the original note hopes that I will enjoy it. But then Matte clarified the matter after I started walking away, so I was called back by Wilgus to get a post-script added with a correction to hoping I enjoyed it. So that's something unique.
Also, I forgot to mention before that Wilgus did a sketch of Cartoon Zuko in it, which is pretty much how everyone was treating the comic at the time- an AtLA prequel manga that for some reason had Zuko and Iroh drawn incorrectly but that's easy to ignore. XD
As for the manga itself, I think it has its ups and down, most of the ups being the bit with the Guru you're going to mention in your second part. It's not something I would recommend to anyone but the serious collector. ;)
Continued:
2/2 I remember liking the interactions between Zuko and the guru in that one. But the thing that surprised me the most was your signed copy of the comics. You mean to tell me that you willingly asked your archnemesis Gene Yang for his autograph? Are you truly Loopy777? xD Regarding the Avatar Legends game, can't you play with your brother? Or is he not an atla fan?
Hey, Yang was sharing the table with Hicks. I may not like his comics, but it would have been super awkward to just bring books for her to sign when most of the line had beloved copies of American Born Chinese with them! XD For the record, I think ABC lives up to the hype, and in fact I've loved all of Yang's original graphic novels that I've read. So I was able to have some pleasant conversations while waiting in that line.
However, one of the people waiting in line with me offered to get the rest of my Yang comics signed for me since she just had a couple of books for each author. I declined, saying I'd be happy just getting the first volumes signed since for me it's more about supporting the author and getting a nice thing for my collection. I did not say I didn't care that much about it that I wanted to bother someone else. XD
But yeah, here's the proof.
As for Avatar Legends, my brother and I find it hard to align our schedules enough for what would have to be a several-hour session, and he's never been much of a serious role-player. It would probably also be kind of weird just to play one-on-one, rather than in a group, as this system especially seems to be about collaborative storytelling. But yes, he's a fan of the original AtLA cartoon, although that hasn't extended to any of the expanded material or even LoK. For him, it's a show he enjoyed, not an obsession. Which is probably a much healthier mental state for this franchise. :P

Project Daycycle:
♡ "I'm too grown for your tricks; I know this isn't love." ♡
General info
Standalone or Series: series
Progress: drafting book 1/4
Tropes/Ao3-esque Tags: Enemies to lovers, slowburn, family of choice, team as family, morally grey characters, redemption arcs
Book one
Working title: First Rises the Night
Main character name: Menodora
Summary:
Hundreds of years ago the creatures of mythos struck a deal with mysterious elemental beings to even the score with humans. In the wake of that agreement is an earth especially tailored for the creatures of mythos, humanity not being able to use their magic, and an empire ruled by the iron fist of the elementals. Both creatures and humans cling to the prophecy that a great chosen one wielding the element of light would fight to free everyone from the empire's grip. However, a chosen one of darkness was also foretold to oppose them.
In the present day, Menodora is still struggling after realizing that despite being human and having the ability of light, she is not the chosen one. On her journeys far from the place she once called home, she's recruited by the werewolf general, Thais, on a plan that might be crazy enough to actually overthrow the empire. Will she be strong enough to help with their movement, or will ties from her past hold her down?

Author Notes
Why "Daycycle?"
The working titles are all themed around times of day. This is inspired by the eternal daytimes in certain areas of the world!
Will you publish it?
Don't know! Most likely yes.
Romance or Found Family focused?
So far it's found family. When I say slowburn for the romance, I mean it. It's so slow my writer friends are trying to convince me to speed it up a bit for my own sanity. This story is very character focused, so it's important to me that the romance takes its sweet time. That being said, found family for the win baaabyyyy
Where can I see what you've posted so far?
I try to put all my writing snippets (and finished works but they have a separate tag) under #my writing, though rambles and writings can be found under the #project daycycle tag.
All the character tags are #p. d: (character name) and there's the tag p. d: main cast when referring to the group at large.
Can I be on your taglist?
This question is highly presumptuous, but yes hypothetical stranger, you can! Just ask in the replies or tags.

Every single Brawl Stars character as songs
So, I was unhappy with my prior posts on this topic, both because of the song choices I made and because I didn't properly credit the musicians behind them. Ergo, I'm going to compile all of the brawlers into a single list below the cut, and then update and reblog this post each time a new brawler is released.
Feedback regarding song choices is encouraged if you think you have a better fit for a character.
