We loved your understanding of her character, especially her want ‘nd need for success and the perks and not-so perks that come along with such a mentality. I especially loved the “nothing’s ever enough” point because for someone who wants the world (the whole world), when will she ever be realistically #satisfied? Also, shoutout to the 10-year-plan! I didn’t think it was possible but we’re even more excited to see Adriana and her to-be empire on the dash and what you do with her!

Character Name: adriana ramirez

Why do you want this character?: so i was like super bored and just got to reading the open character bios because i’ve been juggling the idea of applying for someone else or thinking up a new oc for tossing the idea @ paige, and the first thing i find is adriana. with the first paragraph about how she turned down her father’s offer, how she went against what’s probably constituted as family values within them, i knew i wanted her. i also knew charlotte admired her, so that’s a thing. she’s that kind of bold, empowering, fight-for-it character that i’m inevitably drawn to and in a plastic, materialistic, trustfund world as the UES, adriana is her own, climbing the social ladder to her dreams with little to no regard for what others might think. she wants success, she’ll get it, and it will be of her own making.

Wanted connections?: i would definitely love some female ex-something (ex not-girlfriend, ex hookup, ex ‘yes i will call you’ [narrator: she never called] thing), but i’m p damn happy with the connections that she’s got on her bio.

virtues:

DEDICATED. once she sets her mind to something, like she’s done, she’s capable of directing her entire life in the pursuit of that one thing. first it was high school (which she aced thoroughly while still looking fantastic and breaking hearts), then it was law & business in college, ivy league obviously, now it’s her own empire, the whole-floor for an office, the building of her choosing, her empire. does this girl take notes from bart bass or something? gosh.

ADAPTABLE. circumstances happen, problems arise, ariana knows this all too well, but instead of throwing a fit like most kids raised on old money do, she just adapts. quiet, ladylike, a lily in a pond that’s just a little too shimmery, she evolves to fit the new situation, to set it back on the course that she wants. if she can’t go through it, then she can go around it, like water. like constance, she wasn’t the queen, though she could’ve been (why wasn’t she? oh, that latina girl), but she still pulled the threads of the game, she still had a privileged place – and knew that college were the actual big leagues.

INTELLIGENT. not only book-smart, but street-smart, people-smart. she might have taken a few crash courses on psychology, read one too many books about enterprise management, about people. she’s what would be deemed (in a 19th century setting) an accomplished lady, definitely a quick learner.

flaws:

INSENSITIVE. it’s no surprise that someone such as adriana will forget about people’s emotions. or, well, not forget, but disregard. she’s not mean by nature, nor is she without reason, but when there’s something that she wants and someone that’s standing between her and her goal, she becomes the most beautiful, smiling viper you’ve ever seen.

GREEDY. nothing’s ever enough for adriana, and she isn’t even sure what she wants to achieve, when she’ll be pleased with what she’s got and what she’s managed to create. one thing’s sure: one person is never enough for her, no shoe ever pleases her for more than a couple of weeks, she hates repeating outfits and rarely ever does, diamonds are tacky for her and she doesn’t want anyone else to carry the world inside of her, she wants to make it bigger, to swallow other people’s so she’ll have more place for her own.

HEDONISTIC. adriana keeps busy at all times, but she’s not always business. in fact, a big part of her climbing up the social ladder constitutes fancy dinners, black tie dresses, clubbing with the big fishes of the pond and waking up fresh the next morning for gathering her clothes from the floor and preparing a hefty breakfast like mama taught her, if it’s for her favor, so she’ll have someone else on her side. pleasure is a manipulation, and a must, and she could not do this ten-year-plan without indulging in the things she takes pleasure in the most.
