The dark sky was cast with grey clouds that night. Lightning and thunderstorms were evident. The bizarre environment added to the misery of the guardian, who was seated before the mirror of the dressing table. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a small scar on his chest. It was no longer painful, but it hurt him mentally. It was more of a scar stabbing deep into his mind than the skin. His emerald eyes conveyed millions of emotions.

The twenty-year-old man got up and punched the wall. He gritted his teeth and shouted, "Aah!"

His love was bedridden for the past two weeks. Some local thugs caught his girlfriend off-guard and brutally beat her. He saved her by defeating them all at once. He got a scar while fighting them.

'Mariam...'

The doctor said she might lose her life if she is not strong enough to endure. He knew she was strong, but feared that he might have to lose her forever. They knew each other for a long time and were assigned to missions for endless times. He never knew she had feelings for him until he learned recently. Now, he feels that he hasn't understood her worth as much as he should. Such an incident left a huge impact on him.

"Only if I had the ability to heal her, which of course don't have! I am so useless!"

He moved to the town side for further education. However, during his vacation, he went back to the village. Mariam goes to her college by train and it was near Saint Shields' village.

Ozuma hastily picked up the bike keys and rode to the hospital.

"Wait for five minutes, sir."

Ozuma couldn't wait. She has been unconscious for two solid days. He wished he could carry her by his arms and take her to his home.

The nurse allowed him to enter. Most of her wounds were treated, and he checked the CT scan reports. He can't infer anything, since he has no clue about the medical field. He wanted to ask the doctor later.

He examined her once. She was exhausted, and her lips were dry, yet intact despite being loose. Her white skin turned pale. An oxygen mask and tubes were connected to her.

Ozuma gently leaned towards her and rubbed her forehead.

Suddenly, her eyes flickered. Ozuma couldn't be more surprised. Her eyelids gently opened, and fast tears came out.

"Mariam..." Ozuma murmured and clad her into his arms.

"Ozuma? Where am I?" She pulled off her oxygen mask.

"Baka! You scared me! I was behaving like a madcap for all these days! Do you know? You were admitted to this hospital, and you were unconscious for the past two days! Those fucking idiots abused you to the core!"

"Don't cry Ozuma. I am alive and safe. What else do you want? I won't leave you so soon." Mariam said breathlessly.

Ozuma quickly parted from her.

"Relax. I'll tell the doctor."

"No, wait. Talk to me for a while."

Ozuma chuckled and went close to her.

"Ozuma, I have something to tell you. You are an amazing person, and I am blessed to have you in my life. Also, you are the best leader!"

"No Mariam, I couldn't save you at the right time. You were already beaten."

"Nah, thanks to you that I am alive. If you were okay and never diverted them, God knows what could've happened to me. You are my savior, Ozuma."

Ozuma reached close to her nose. He felt her hot and humid breaths.

"Ozuma, do you love me?"

He didn't respond but smiled and raked her jaw.

Mariam gently smiled and leaned forward, reaching his lips for a small dance. The kiss was deep, passionate, intimate, and heartfelt.

"How would I not? Because you healed the scar in my heart." He pecked her lips again.

"Get well soon, my love. I am waiting for you."

A very late response to @rainbow-pearls questionnaire. I'm so sorry because I had exams 😩

1. KaneXSalima is my most favorite ship in Beyblade for a trillion reasons. I have some other favorites like ReiMao, TyHil, KaiJul, OzuMari, etc.

2. Most of the stories I've read about Kane and Salima are very good because they rarely have much fanfiction (the reason FFN or maybe AO3 has more fics is because of me 🥱). But, definitely the best ones for me are Embellishing a heart to two by Cutetyhil (BEST OF ALL) and Trapped in Cold by Black Eilla. The latter story is inspired by Warmth in Coldness by Sipsinekku. The Seeds of the time (forgot the author name) in FFN is another good fic for them.

3. I think it's me 😂 in fact I'm not sure because many authors don't write for them.

5. Cutetyhil has written the most heartbreaking stories for them which is again Embellishing a heart to two and What if I never get over you? if it doesn't count me where I've killed both of them in a fic.

6. Again, barely anyone writes for them. It's not like there is a particular author who writes hilarious fics, but Bangles written by Droplets of blue rain is so far one of the hilarious written stories for KaneSal. Maybe she takes the piece of cake along with Cutetyhil as she has also written some humor content for them in some fics like Love or flirt? @black-eilla you are the next person to be getting this award if you can write more fics.

7. Meeting after years of separation! Their meeting in their mid-twenties or at the onset of their late-twenties after over ten years of separation is one of my favorites. They are separated during their higher education days especially during their college life. She is in Canada and he is in Australia for their respective studies.

Hubby/wifey romances are absolutely my favorite for them! I can imagine them being cheeky, flirty and naughty in their married life.

I like any type of medieval era fics for them, like King/Queen or Emperor/Empress fics, warrior/lover or wife fics, etc.

I love doctor/patient romance for them and obviously you know Kane is the doctor as always but I'm feeling so shameful to admit it.

8. For Salima, I can imagine her with guys like Rei (but however it's my major rival ship so I have a love/hate relationship with them sometimes but still they are looking cute and hot for each other). Tyson is a good choice for Salima too. Maybe guys like Oliver can be a good choice too?

As for Kane, I have an OC called Katsumi. She is an alternate to Salima and I love her with Kane as much as I love Kane and Salima. Other than her, maybe Mao? I've written a fic for them. He is Libra and she is Leo; they are said to have a good compatibility and have the same perspective and opinions towards Beyblading.

9. Harleys in Hawaii by Katy Perry is a travel song. They just roam in Harleys.

Whenever I've listened to regional songs (Kollywood, Bollywood tollywood, etc.), I get reminded of them but I forget the specific songs. I have a song in my right now but should I share it?

10. I have too many at the moment 😭 but I had this idea where Kane and Salima's marriage is found to be controversial, so they face a lot of hardships. One day, after being allegedly beaten, they decide to have a shower. Salima will try to seduce him to have a shower together.

It really annoys me when people say that "they both are seen together or even have a dynamic because they are teammates. Otherwise they don't even make sense."

Then they go and ship one of the persons with someone they interacted or been with or spent very less time than with their teammate.

Why don't you ship Max with Mariam, but Emily?

I get why people like that ship. But just because the majority ship it, it doesn't mean I should ship it either. I liked their dynamic in the show, and I once shipped them. But, my interests just changed.

Max and Mariam aren't the people I want to see in a relationship. I don't put Max into the sugar rush, but I feel Max may need someone having the persona of his mother more or less. I don't think Max needs the sassy-type girl as a romantic partner; albeit he is very chill with anybody, there is something that puts me off from shipping them. I do like the "girl being older than a boy", ships, but I can only ship them if it satisfies me or if the point behind the ship is specified. I don't get compelled to see a big girl-persona type with a cinnamon roll.

I think Mariam may need somebody like Ozuma, Johnny, or Bryan. I ship her with Ozuma and they are my Beyblade OTP. I guess Mariam needs somebody who is a bit reserved, cool, calm, and collected, or a very rough and tough-guy type. I can definitely see Max and Mariam as platonic friends, but not much as romantic partners. This is just me, but I think there are chances that they may not click well as romantic partners.

Although Max and Mariam seemed more canonical compared to their rival ships, it is not a ship I relate much with tbh. This is a very personal opinion of mine, but anybody can comment on if they may disagree :)

I do look for canonical interactions most of the time, but I do find Max and Emily more compelling and almost equally canonical (more or less) at the same time. Hence, I prefer them.

10 is too less. I give them 100/10 😂okay, but speaking about their dynamic in canon and their compatibility, they can get an 8/10. It's a good ship but needs to be explored a lot in depth to get 9 and above.

100/10 (oof sorry). But yeah, I give them 7.5/10 if I consider their canon dynamic and compatibility. Although I think they are a good couple, they need to have a lot more good moments to be likable to an extent.

First of all.... I am EXTREMELY SORRY for the lateness 😭😭😭 I had exams, and also thanks for the ask ❤️

🥺: there are plenty of fics where the interactions between my characters put me in feels. I remember writing a Kane/Salima COVID-19 fic where Kane is a doctor and has to treat COVID patients. Salima is almost in her second trimester and they have a one year old kid. Kane had to leave them, and his interactions with her before his departure just gives me the feels! He even talks to the unborn baby!

There are a couple of other fics where they both share emotional and comforting talks. I wrote a Kane/Salima medievel setting fic where Kane is the chief commander for the soldiers in Tyson's Kingdom (who is the King). He returns home after the war, and their interactions throughout the story never fails to put me in my feels! Especially after their intercourse, where Kane expresses his perspective on war and destruction, and how Salima is the love of his life.

I mostly write fics for this pairing, and most of theirs are hurt/comfort based, so practically almost every fic of theirs put me in feels.

I too remember writing an Ozuma/Mariam ancient based fic where Ozuma tries to rescue Mariam from Barthez who has adopted her. Mariam suffers from amnesia in the fic. Their interaction after settling things down.

I've written two Kane/OC fics where almost the majority of the interactions are indeed putting me in emotions. Both these fics are super-angsty, especially the latter.

This list is too big, but these are the ones I wanted to mention.

🤡: the entirety of this fic! The whole fanfiction had the characters playing truth or dare. The scene where Tyson was asked to sing "Shape of you" with chocolate in his mouth is the most hilarious. He kinda deciphered it like, "I'm in love with the shit of you, and I'm in love with your booty".

I wrote a Kai/Julia fic for Lipstick day's special. Kai continues to piss Julia off with his jokes on how Julia looked scary with her red lipstick. Kai's indirect jokes are the best parts.

I too wrote a KaiHil college A.U. where Hilary is the professor and Kai is a student. Kai, Tala, and Ray are a gang, and Kai's flirting with Hilary during their introduction to the new teacher (which is Hilary) is the peak part. And Tala develops a crush on Queen, who is the strictest professor on campus. The part where Tala blurts out his feelings for her and her getting angry on him is the best part! The entry of the three people cracks me up too!
