Misuse of the Oxford Comma is a pet peeve of mine. In the example above… With the Oxford comma: My parents, plus two legendary authors Without it: Surprise! My parents are Stephen King and Jane Austen. Talk about a plot twist!

The only use the Oxford comma has is so that headline writers can make jokes that are only funny because they left it out.

The existence of the comma doesn't make anything clearer, it just gives us a chance to talk about the comma.
