I was wondering, what's the dynamic like between Azura & Paulina, like do they have similar interests? Also do you have a name for Paulina's brother?

Paulina considers Azura as her cousin (on her dad’s side) however Azura doesn’t. Paulina has her own group of friends but considers Azura to be her best friend, which Azura doesn’t and says Eva is hers. If they have the same lunch period then Paulina will go and sit with Azura. It’s not that Paulina is a clingy friend but after her little brother was born and then later showed an aptitude with plant magic, Paulina needed someone her own age to talk to (well, close to it) and that became Azura (despite her not wanting to). They don’t share many hobbies as Paulina is more sporty while Azura prefers studying and music but they make it work when hanging out.

I don’t have a name yet for the little brother, haven’t had much time to think about him as of late

What was the Calamity siblings reaction to smelling durian for the first time? Bet it gave Lily some new prank material on Azura lol.

The only one that was okay with the smell and taste was Maddi but then again, compared to her older sibs, she’s the weird one of the 3.

Idk if Azura would b phased by a durian, ya’d have to assume that the demon realm would have worst smelling things considering its a continent built on a rotting corpse.

Quick question, do Lily & Percy have casual clothes? Just wondering, since we always see Maddi in her casual clothes most of the time and we only see them in their school uniform

I've drawn Lily and Percy in casual clothes before but yea, more often it's their school uniform but here's a brief look at one of their casual clothes.

Love the lineup of Hexsquad 2.0 especially with the info we have on them now, tho I have to ask is Pauline a big sister to a younger sibling or is she the big sister of the group?

she has a little brother (who's good at Plant and Beast-Keeping magic), he's younger than Maddi Boonchuy, so he's roughly 6-7 years old

Between Lily & Azura, who would most likely have tattoos when they get older or will both have?

Probably Lily since between the two, I see Lily as the noble delinquent and Azura as the prim, perfect student type dynamic. Sure they share a bit of each other’s habits from time to time but after admiring all three of her mom’s tattoos, Lily would probably have like 20+ ideas of what she would get if she had an opportunity. Meanwhile Azura, while she likes the art on her moms’ tattoos, would be too cautious of the pain needed to get them.

Speaking of Pauline, I remember that time that you said people were shipping her with Percy and it got me thinking if they ever did get together, I could see Pauline bench pressing Percy just like Willow does with Hunter, it'll be a great & hilarious mother-daughter bonding activity lol

been meaning to do some comics with those two but like with the other comics, things got in the way. idk if they'd get together but the dynamic could be funny.

Honest question, does ever first born fankid of yours have the pressure of living up to their parents legacies?

Not all of them, mostly just Lily and Azura. Paulina is more disappointed in herself at her plant magic being weaker than normal and feels a distance between her and her mom, especially after her little brother was shown to be great at plant magic. But she doesn’t feel like she has a legacy to fulfill.

Brenna Nöel (my Lava Scissors/Lord Dominator x Hekapoo, daughter) also doesn’t feel like she seriously needs to be a villain like her mom or a bureaucrat/royal advisor like her other mom. She mostly just wishes she had actual friends then bots but while she knows it’s cause other people are scared of her mom (Dominator), she doesn’t hate her for it and still loves her because she knows her mom is also kind at times rather than just a big scary villain.

I can’t think/remember any other firstborn fankids atm that this’d apply too (maybe Minerva, the Starkie kid but she just wishes to control her wild magic rather than trying to be a good ruler like her mom)

I just noticed that all Amphibia characters have more than one kid while TOH characters have just one kid (depending on whether or not Veesha have just one too)

Was this something you had planned right from the finales or did something influence this decision?

Eh, it was mostly a coincidence. I couldn’t just have Sashanne have a kid and leave out Marcy so obviously Sasharcy and Marcanne had a kid too and then with Spraddivy, originally it was only a Sprivy kid but the idea of Sprout having a creepy little sister was too funny not to have. And for Yulivia and their kids, once again it was originally only Marceline but I wanted to draw an axolotl and since they live in frog valley now, why not a frog tadpole?

When it came to TOH, Azura was an obvious choice for Lumity and I couldn’t think of any other siblings for her so she’s an only child which contrasts with the Amphibia fankids side of the Owlphibia comics. I haven’t fully decided if Pauline is going to be an only child as well or not. I haven’t done much with her so I could probably make a younger sibling, either on the way or little kid, idk. Still debating on if Veesha having a kid as well, ran into the same problem I’ve been having with Dr Jan and Terri’s daughter due to Terri and Masha. As for any other fankids from the main cast, it’s been difficult to figure out something original, especially since so many ppl have done things and I don’t want to accidentally copy someone else, which is y I’ve been hesitant with TOH next gen stuff.

It’s also a “can I think of a cool or funny story with this character?” Type decision. For the Calamity Siblings, I have Lily’s Amphibia Adventure in mind, the Spraddivy kids they have several jokes, the Yulivia kids same thing. Azura is fun to explore the rivalry between the Owlphibia fandom and the magic system of TOH.
