I have plans for a lot of mythical creatures in the stories! Currently, we have the Owlfins in the Codex series and the bird humanoid race: Ngozi. Suppose they don’t count as mythical creatures but oh well xD

In Star of Hope, we got a few unnamed creatures. There are little fluffy balls of light that just lazily bounce around in the air. Kinda like the will o wisps but fluffy little cuties >w< I need to focus on naming these creatures tbh

Happy Storyteller Saturday! Whats on your character’s bucket lists? How likely are they to do the things on their list?

Arabella’s bucket list mainly includes a lot of mundane things so we’re gonna focus on the bigger ones!

-Travel to Salus -Travel to the other cities in the Star Realm (and see the Solar Sea) -Learn how to dance from Anahi -See how fabric and all that is made in Salus -Learn to ride an Owlfin get married to Taayin is also on the list hehe >w> and meet her parents

In Star of Hope, not very likely but maybe in Star of Healing or Star of Guidance she might be in a better position to get all of those knocked off the list >w>

Or ya know, if Umbra and Lux were allowed to kidnap her but Eire said no lol

A moment that my WIP made me smile...

Not in Star of Hope but actually when I was starting to plan Codex Umbrae! I was working out this scene where Umbra is working in the forge with his adoptive father, Moto, and his three daughters sneak around to finish a surprise. Moto is aware they are there, don't worry! They make sure to cast a barrier that keeps the girls out when they are pouring metals or blowing glass. They were just engraving at this point. No, but Umbra would catch the sight of an Owlfin and question it only for Moto to say he’s seeing things. And finally, when the girls are done Umbra is surprised with brooches Moto helped them make earlier the day. So the little story of how Umbra ended up with three brooches on his cloak really made me smile.

16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like?

Arabella is more active than potato but not due to sports, something she hates, it’s more due to her job as the right hand to High Lady Lunae. Lunae has Arabella managing and planning a ton of things like events and attending political meetings in her place. Arabella runs. A lot. In heeled boots too by the way. Something that Elisabeth and Seraphina find slightly scary. Taayin is amused/lowkey proud of his lady. xD

Another reason for her dislike of sports? She can’t swim. Even if she wanted to learn. Her magic is considered untamed so if she attempts to learn how to swim and panics, she risks electrifying everything in the water with her. Plus she did nearly drown once, err a few times… so there is that!

20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures?

She LOVES animals! Arabella has a sweet pupper named Rosemary but she would absolutely love to own a hedgehog if Taayin would agree to it xD

Once she finds out about them, Arabella quickly falls in love with the Owlfins in Salus. Umbra will have a hard time sending Arabella back to the Mundane Realm once she finds out about his little creation xD

22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have?

This is honestly hard to answer without spoilers so if something slips, sorry xD at least I won’t point out a spoiler if it does slip.

Arabella has her Star Mark on her back. (Something I’ll share later once I have time to transfer over posts from old Tumblr!) She also has other markings but those aren’t visible yet.

She has freckles. Oh gods, does she have freckles! lmao Her friends LOVE to play connect the dots xD

Her eyes are turquoise with gold and bright green specks in both eyes.

Arabella’s ears are pierced but she does tend to forget that so you’ll only see her wear earrings for special events like the Spring Gala or Longest Night.

Arabella actually has a nasty scar later on where broken shards of stone impaled her side. Plus, countless scars on her arms and thighs. I’m not going to lie, she had an unhealthy coping mechanism for a while...

Seraphina will take secrets to her grave though it doesn't stop her from sharing them with her plants.

Elisabeth, it depends. You get her to swear an oath then her lips are sealed. Without an oath and it's basically roulette xD

Taayin is relatively decent with them.

Arabella, oof she's a special case. She has secrets that she wants to tell but physically can't. Even when she's asked by the Grand Keeper or a Magnus, Arabella physically cannot tell the truth on the secret. Eire seems to know this and goes off the opposite of what she's told.

My friend joked that Umbra is a lock box for secrets. Tell him something and it stays with him. He's pretty good at locking memories so no one could access them unless he says so. Doesn't stop him from making the discussion of spilling a secret if it involves the safety of the teller or others. (This man still hasn't told anyone that he and Anahi created the Owlfins.)

Lux is pretty bad with them. He gets too excited about some secrets and runs to Anahi or Valishiliwen to tell. Doesn't mean to but get him to swear as a Magnus to not tell and suddenly he can't speak it. The longest record of him holding a secret is 1 hour.

Yvaine and Umbra tested it. It took Lux long enough to find Valishiliwen and Anahi

Storyteller Saturday! What's a secret an OC has that they really want to tell but can't?

Hmmm, which secrets aren’t spoilers...

Jenna Rose was full of secrets and in terms of telling? She went as far as creating a lullaby for Arabella that would help guide her to the truth later on. Jenna also wants to tell John the truth about who she was but can’t because that would undo everything she's done to protect Arabella.

Umbra never did tell the others where the Owlfins came from xD I think he’s going to take that one to his grave. That and the man does want to warn Arabella about Thing01 but can’t because that would make her a target from Thing02 and would alert Thing02 that he knows about Thing01

Sorry if that didn’t make sense. I’m sick with the flu and nursing a sprained wrist so I’m a little out of it. But thank you!
