Is there any kind of active Jurassic park/world fandom on here? I feel like there should be and I've seen some good fanart but im not really seeing any blogs that are kinda centered around it like with other fandoms. I'm not completely sure if the timelines match up, but my personal theory is that Bens mystery girlfriend is Maisie Lockwood from the movie series.

I think it'd be a cool way to merge the two series at least. Especially because I would love to see both casts working together :))

I love the Jurassic Park franchise, yes even the Jurassic World movies but if they actually go through with another movie (given the info we have), I will simply end myself.

Firstly, I just think Jurassic City is a stupid name.

Secondly, Dominion pretty much wrapped up everything for the major reoccurring characters, even from the first fucking movie, so they'll probably be doing what they did with Jurassic World and essentially jumping to a different point in time & focus in the universe, which will be a lot to keep up with given that while yes, Jurassic World did the same thing with introducing a essentially whole new cast of characters (with the exceptions of Dr Ian Malcolm and Dr Henry Wu) up until Dominion where they then had everybody from the franchise in the past come together, Jurassic World came out FOURTEEN YEARS after Jurassic Park 3. Yes it was a sequel but it was overall meant to mostly be an introduction to the franchise to a whole new generation of watchers, whereas Dominion came out in 2022 and this new movie is supposedly going to come out in like 2025 or something, that is objectively too close together for movies to be released when they are meant to be a part of the same franchise but you are switching to a completely brand new cast of characters because all you are going to do is isolate the audience who fell in love with the previously existing characters from not that many years ago!!

Thirdly, they're supposedly looking at Scarlet Johansson for the lead, which no hate to her, but honestly can we please work on, oh idk, discovering new actors?? People love that shit!!

Fourthly, kinda jumping back to point 2 and adding onto point 3, while yes, Chaos Theory, the sequel series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous has been confirmed to come out this year, as far as we know it's a spin off and we only have confirmation about ONE main character returning and honestly??

I'd rather see a prequel-sequel that's meant to be set between Fallen Kingdom and Dominion focusing on the Nublar Six, how they react and overall just a movie that actually acknowledges just how fucked and terrifying the world of Jurassic Park actually is, plus as much as people might scream that it'll be "forced diversity" a live action movie involving the Nublar Six would open the door to see an absolutely amazing diverse cast of actors that we either don't really see at all or especially diversity that we don't see on screen together ya know??

I know that may be kind of counterproductive to part of my argument in point 2 about how switching to a new cast of characters might be confusing but a lot of people who know of Jurassic world have seen or have some context of Camp Cretaceous and therefore it wouldn't be switching to a whole new cast that is never actually been introduced because it has been very formally introduced.

Also can we please get a check in on Zach and Gray??

Ryu Number: Kevin Bacon

Let's be real, this is the obvious ask. The Ryu Number is the Bacon Number for video games, so one of the first questions anyone's going to put out there is whether Kevin Bacon has a Ryu Number.

... Is what I'd like to say, but the fact is, most of the time when I try to explain the concept of a Ryu Number by saying "It's like the Bacon Number, except for Ryu—you know, six degrees of Kevin Bacon?" the response I get is, "What's 'six degrees of Kevin Bacon'?"

Hey, when was the heyday of the Bacon Number, again? Oh, thirty years ago. That doesn't feel good.

Anyway, Kevin Bacon has a Ryu Number of at most 4.

Jimmy Fallon (who I keep confusing with Jimmy Kimmel) has a cameo in Jurassic World.

This is enough to get him a place as one of the oodles of minifigs you can trot around in Lego Jurassic World. And if you think that's a kind of flimsy foundation to stick a character into a game over, please understand that this is par for the course for the Lego series of games. In Lego Jurassic World alone, you can play as Donald Gennaro, the "Unlucky Bastard" from The Lost World (here called "Unlucky Bystander"), the kid Alan Grant terrorizes at the dig site in Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg, and Jophery Brown.

What, you don't know who Jophery Brown is? You know, the guy who gets killed in the opening scene of Jurassic Park. Muldoon goes "Jophery, raise the gate," and everything. And then he dies. Because raptor.

We didn't even know his last name was "Brown" until this game. He was named after his own actor, that's the rank of character we're dealing with here.

... Wait, does this mean we can go straight from Owen Grady to certain baseball games? I've got to think about this. Is "Scientist Phil" allowable as Phil Tippet? Is "Pilot Pat" the same person as Patrick Crowley, who produced Jurassic World and cameoed as a pilot? If Patrick Crowley has an actual pilot's license, does that change the answer?

I am entirely uninterested in answering these questions until the issue is unavoidable!

Random Handler Thought

For some reason I had a thought about a scenario over if The Handler from JWCT ever met Owen Grady and how would they react with one another. That’s something I always kinda wanted to see in Dominion between Owen and Santos given their sort of parallel relationships with dinosaurs. The Handler seems kind of in the middle between them in that she seems to genuinely care for her pack like Owen but she still uses them for malicious purposes like Santos.

I also hope we get a backstory or name drop or just ANYTHING else about her because her character has grown on me a lot.

A part of me thinks if her and Owen met, they probably would not get along in the slightest. But the other half of my brain is just “Okay, but what if they talked about their raptor kids for a moment with just a hint of bonding?”

I don’t know if anyone has come up with a name for her or if the community is just collectively calling her “The Handler”.

Also why do I have a thought that she might die at the end of the series? If this is set pre-Dominion, she’d either give up control of the raptors to Santos for whatever reason, dies, or maybe gets redeemed? Possibly? Idk, just random food for thought.
