We'll be alright Ch.3
Summary: you've been married to Owen Grady as well as training a pack of velocsrapters at the New Jurassic World for two years now. So what happens when the two of you are asked to check on the paddock for a new dinosaur only for things to go sideways and send the entire park into chaos?
Pairing: Owen Grady x Reader
Warnings: death , blood, cursing. If I missed anything let me know in the comments.
Raiting:pg13
A/n: If you would like to be added to the tag list you can either message me or just ask in the comments down below so that you are alerted when new chapters are up!
<previous Ch.2
The car ride to the new paddock was for lack of better words. Extremely uncomfortable. None of us spoke a word which in the long run only made it more awkward. Owen was in the front passenger seat while I sat directly behind him. By the time we finally pulled up to the enclosure we were all ready to be out of the car. I swiftly unbuckle my seat belt and get out of the car closing the door behind me.
As we began to make our way to the small monitor room I noticed all the construction was still being done on the paddock." Well that can be good. What kind of idiots put a dinosaur in an unfinished enclosure?' I think to myself.
" We've been pre booking tickets for months." Claire began as we began to climb up a set of stairs. Claire was in the front with Owen behind her and me behind him. " The park needs a new attraction every few years to rejuvenate the public's interest. Kind of like the space program. Corporate felt genetic modification would up the wow factor" she continued before I spoke up from the back," they're dinosaurs. That's wow enough"
Claire looked back at me for a moment before she continued to explain . "Not according to our focus groups. The Indominus Rex makes us relevant again "
Owen chuckles as he repeats the name of the new dinosaur," the Indominus Rex" . It really is a weird name for a dinosaur.
" we needed something scary and easy to pronounce. You should hear a four- year -old try to say Archaeornithomimus . " Claire retorts as she comes to a stop at the top of the stairs before she walked into the building.
"you should hear you try to say it" I say under my breath which makes Owen huff out a laugh as he holds the door open for me to go in before following behind . It was a small room with a wall made completely of floor to ceiling windows which allowed visitation into the jungle like enclosure. " So what's this thing made of?" I ask as I walk up to one of the windows, to the left of where Claire stood tapping away at a tablet, and look into the enclosure trying to see if I can spot this "Indominus Rex".
"The base genome is a T.rex the rest is" Clair begins before making a small pause as she turns to look at Owen and I," classified."
I raise an eyebrow at this as I turn away from the window to look at Claire . Owen turned his head to look at the woman with a face of confusion and slight disbelief." You made a new dinosaur but you don't even know what it is?" He asked and I nodded my head in agreement.
" yeah Claire. That sounds kinda off to me. Who makes a dinosaur but won't even tell people what's in it " I state as I run a hand through my hair.
"The lab delivers us finished assets, and we show them to the public. " She rushed out in an irritated tone before looking to the security guard at his desk off in the corner of the room," can we drop a steer please. " She quickly ordered before turning back to the enclosure.
We turned back to watching through the windows as a crain began to lower a piece of meat internally too small to feed a dinosaur of its size.
" how long has the animal been in here?" Owen asks as we watch the crain continue to lower in the piece of meat .
"all its life" Claire replied.
"never seen anything outside these walls?" I question and I can see Claire look at me in my peripheral vision.
" we can't exactly walk it ----" She retorts in a matter of fact tone.
" And you feed it with that?" I continue as the crain finally drops the meat to the ground.
Claire turns to look at Owen and I ," is that a problem?" She asks and I look at her in disbelief. How can she look at a dinosaur made from T.rex DNA and think that a small piece of meat would be enough to satisfy it. I only look away from the red head when Owen begins to explain why this is so concerning.
" Animals raised in isolation aren't always the most functional." He states. I notice how eerily calm it has been and the fact we have yet to see any sign of the animal.
"you're raptors are born in captivity."
"with siblings" Both Owen and I point out at the same time," they learn social skills" Owen adds," And we imprinted on them when they were born. There's trust" The two of us walk over to Claire but for some reason I feel as if I shouldn't take my eyes off the jungle on the other side of the glass.
" the only positive relationship this animal has is with that crane " I continue as I pointed up at the crane. " At least she knows that means food."
"so she needs a friend. We should schedule playdates. That sort of thing?" Claire replies in a mocking tone as she too turns to look into the enclosure as well.
"probably not a good idea" I quietly retorted as Claire tapped on the glass like it was a fish tank. "Where is it?"she whispers.
" Is it in the basement? Is there a down stairs? Maybe it's in the rec room. " Owen jokes as Claire rushes over to the guard.
"it was just here. We were just here" I hear her say as I closely examine the inside of the paddock. I squint my eyes as I walk to the other side of the room to get a close look at the paddocks walls and it seems that Owen had noticed it as well as he was soon standing right beside me.
" Am I seeing that right?" I ask him quietly to make sure I'm not just seeing things. He shakes his head and says with a confirming "yes" before he points up through the glass as he speaks loud enough for Claire to hear ," we're those claw marks always there?" He asks, before Claire silently walks over to us.
"do you think it," she began but paused for a moment as if she was afraid to even ask the full question. " God" I heard her whisper underneath her breath before she rushed for the door "She has an implant in her back. I can track it from the control room. " Was the last thing we heard before the door slammed shut behind her.
A very uneasy feeling began to bubble in the pit of my stomach. Something seems off about this but I can't quite wrap my mind around what it was. " There's no way it could have cleared that wall. " I whispered underneath my breath as I couldn't tear my eyes from the clawed up wall.
Owen , the security guard and I decided to enter the enclosure to get a better look at the markings. The entire time I stayed right next to Owen as I kept my guard up while I surveyed the surrounding area. I haven't felt this kind of uneasy feeling in my stomach since we decided to leave the Navy almost four years ago.
"That wall is forty feet high. There's no way she could have climbed out " the construction worker said as we approached him and looked up at the wall.
" It depends." I begin but am cut off as the security guard asks," on what?" . And I pause for a moment before continuing. "What kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab"
A few moments a lady's voice began to brokenly come through the guards walkie-talkie and my uneasy feeling only grew as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as I turned around to look into the jungle behind us.
" yeah, what's the problem?" I vaguely hear the guard ask but I very clearly heard the answer that came back as the lady screamed," it's in the cage! It's in the cage with you!!"

Round 2
Propaganda why Owen Grady is insufferable:
"For a protagonist he is so mediocre and boring. Put him to sleep now!"
"Yeah, he’s annoying. Especially in the raptorcoaster ride at Universal."
"The presence of his character completely erases the point of the original Jurassic Park movies. His Cool Action Guy sequences took over what should have been a poignant criticism of modern consumerism and anti-intellectual mentality."
Propaganda why Light Yagami is insufferable:
"Cop"
"Had a great chance to actually solve the problems of the world but he decided to go after petty criminals instead of actual bad guys shaking my head. He thought he was so smart but got caught being suspected to be Kira before he even had his next birthday. How do you fuck up that badly? It’s a book you write peoples names in…Nice move, FedEx
Also his personality is awful"
"HE DIDNT DESERVE TO PULL A GOTH GIRL"
"Idk if he counts because he's SUPPOSED to be insufferable. But I don't care because I want to punch him in the face anyway. Oh and before the Light stans come at me let me say: thanks but I don't want your 5 paragraphs explaining why he's so complex and was corrupted and rationalized murder as a defense mechanism to avoid confronting the possibility that he might have done something that would make him irredeemable and evil and how in the manga he lost weight due to the psychological strain because I know. I think he's fascinating too but good God. He's so annoying."
"he's like if a cop was a bitchy teenager about it"

QUESTION FOR THE PRATT MASTER. Who has the most bow-leggiest bow legs out of Owen, Peter, and Andy? If Farraday was included I think we all know who’d win there.
PRATT MASTER, AT YOUR SERVICE!!
Idk what causes bowlegged-ness, but since Owen is the most cowboy-ish (after Faraday, obvs) then I’m gonna go with him. Plus, he canonically rides bulls so–

Owen Grady with Dinosaur! Reader
Request: Could you do Owen with a Dinosaur reader? Like headcanons with Owen with a dinosaur companion, similar to your Mei and Red Panda!Reader?
Owen is really good with dinosaurs, like really good with them. He's spent most of his adult life in the enclosures with the Raptors, training them, imprinting on them. Even though they're still wild animals, it's no surprise that they all have a strong affinity for him
It's no surprise then, that the Raptors aren't the only dinosaurs he gains the trust of
If you're a smaller dinosaur, riding his shoulder (yes it does hurt and yes he does complain)
You're never far from him, if he ever needs to make a quick getaway, he can always call to you and you'll always come
Fitting comfortably into his jackets and vests
Protecting him from other dinosaurs, even if they're three times your size. You'd do anything for him (and by extension, Claire and later Maisie)
If you're a larger dinosaur, it's a little harder for you to fit in places but you're always welcome to hang out outside and you do make a great bed to sleep on if Owen needs to sleep outside.
It's easier to protect the people you care about, you do everything in your power to keep them safe
Other people are often worried, because of your size, that maybe someone will get hurt but you're really just a giant pushover. Will do anything for snacks
Owen will try his best in return to protect you, especially from other people
JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION SPOILERS
You spend the majority of the film with Owen and Claire trying to track down Maisie, your impeccable nose assists them in finding her
Doctors Sattler, Grant and Malcolm are kind of terrified of you, when the group is altogether, they stay as far from you as possible
You get left behind by the helicopter but that's no problem for you, you just find your own way back to the Grady/Dearing cabin on your own

Jurassic World: Owen Grady [ESTP 8w7]
Jurassic World: Owen Grady [ESTP 8w7]
Function Order: Se-Ti-Fe-Ni Owen is definitely the man to have in your corner with man-eating dinosaurs on the loose. He is hyper-aware of his environment and at ease in it, so much so that he can turn just about any situation to his advantage. He takes big risks with big payoffs, saving a lot of lives in the process. He’s a motorcycle-riding, Rapter-training … well, in the kids’ words,…

Jurassic World
“Jurassic World” manages to bring in a ton of new interesting ideas to the Jurassic Park franchise while also recapturing the wonderment of the first movie.
Owen Grady is a Velociraptor trainer for the brand new Jurassic World theme park. John Hammond’s original vision of a dinosaur theme park is now a reality and business is great, but the costs to maintain that dream are getting higher and higher. Every few years, the park needs to unveil and new attraction to maintain public interest and this time, it’s the Indominus Rex. The Indominus Rex is a brand new hybrid dinosaur specifically designed to be terrifying. When the Indominus Rex escapes, all hell breaks loose.
I remember watching this movie in theaters with a group of friends and thinking how fun of a theater experience it was. I think a lot of that is attributed to the fact that this movie has a ton of great action set pieces. Now that I’ve seen the original Jurassic Park trilogy, I have an ever greater appreciation for this movie. For starters, I always thought the idea of having someone train raptors and then riding a motorcycle alongside them was super badass. This opinion is now strengthened with the added context of the raptors being one of the most feared dinosaurs in the original trilogy. When I first saw this movie, I thought the park just looked fun and I’m someone who doesn’t like theme parks. Now that I know this was the dream of John Hammond, the park is even more special to me now. I mean, Jurassic World takes the best parts of modern theme parks and adds a futuristic element. I think kids would love riding dinosaurs or pet them or watch them swim around in a giant tank. The novelty of knowing they’re prehistoric and supposed to be extinct would drive anyone to buy plushies of Pterodactyls or t-shirts with T-Rexes. Then you have more modern rides like the one with with the gyro-spheres or hologram displays. On top of that, this is technically an island getaway which would allow for a beach section of the park. I’m just gushing about the park at this point, but it’s only because the movie did a fantastic job at instilling a sense of wonderment in me. The movie is only dragged down by a few things. First, I didn’t really enjoy the military subplot of the movie. It feels cliché at this point because any movie involving technological advancements requires the antagonist to want to weaponize them. In this case, it’s a bit dumb because I don’t really see the real-world application of raptors in warfare. It just seems super inefficient in my opinion. I mean, think of the cost of having to train them, feed them, and shelter them. Not to mention how much time and effort that would all take. I feel like they could’ve fleshed it out a bit more and maybe improved upon it. Maybe have the antagonist want to cybernetically enhance the raptors to follow human command without failure. Then the movie could go into a discussion about extinct animal rights since these movies like the flirt with the topic. The other thing that really bogged the movie down for me was the two brothers. The older brother is a jerk most of the time and treats his younger brother cruelly. He’s emotionally dismissive and never really learns to change his behavior. Then you have their parents’ divorce subplot. I have no idea why this subplot matters to the overall story. It’s brought up twice and then it has no bearing to the rest of the movie. Still, I think this franchise was saved by this movie. It’s by no means a perfect movie, but it did a great job at reigniting the passion for dinosaurs in a brand new generation.

The Mosley Review: Jurassic World: Dominion
Do you remember the first time you saw Jurassic Park? I do. It was full of wonderment, terror, adventure and morality. The many themes that were explored in that film was truly astounding and the reason why it stands the test of time. The dinosaurs were amazing to witness as the blend of practical and digital technology was state of the art and brought dinosaurs to back to life. It was about them and the people that would try and escape those creatures. Now fast forward past the sequels to 2015 where dinosaurs are back in another theme park. Jurassic World opened a new avenue that had so much potential and also really highlighted the stupidity of the smartest people in these films. It was a fun ride don't get me wrong, but if it had stopped there then I think this franchise would've been saved from the absolute travesty Fallen Kingdom was and the abysmal finale this film was. I loved seeing the dinosaurs again and hearing the warm Jurassic Park and Jurassic World themes return, but sadly this film forgot to include the one part of the story that everyone cares about: the dinosaurs. These films have always had an environmental protection and evolutionary plotline consistently carry through, but now it takes the forefront. The amount of retreading the same plotlines, lack of tension and straight up espionage was tiresome and downright boring. Character development is almost completely out the window and its sad to say because there are some actually great performances that are bogged down by this mess of a film.
Chris Pratt returns as Owen Grady and he is straight up a superhero at this point. He doesn't really go anywhere new as a character, but it was fun to watch him do almost all the action in the film. Bryce Dallas Howard was good in the film as Claire Dearing and her chemistry with Owen is still intact. They're a great pair and do well together, but they spend most of the film apart. Isabella Sermon returns as Maisie Lockwood and she does well portraying the rebellious teen. She does double duty in the film and really shows some of range as an up and coming actress. DeWanda Wise was awesome as the pilot Kayla Watts. She handled herself so well in all of her scenes and she even stole the spotlight from the main cast. BD Wong returns as Dr. Henry Wu and you truly see the sadness that he carries from the destructive nature of his work. I loved that he finally learned from his mistakes and was trying to make things right after 4 films. Campbell Scott portrays the returning character from Jurassic Park, Dr. Lewis Dodgson, CEO of Biosyn Genetics. He was good as always and I liked that the character was eccentric and awkward at times. He was definitely the weakest villain of the entire franchise though. Laura Dern returns as Dr. Ellie Sattler and she was as radiant and badass as you remember her to be. Sam Neill dawns the iconic fedora again as Dr. Allen Grant and he hasn't skipped a beat. He is still his grumpy self, but is always up for an adventure. The chemistry between Ellie and Allen was the standout of the film and I loved that there is a flame still burning between them. The loveable Jeff Goldblum is back in black as Dr. Ian Malcolm and he is still the chaos theory loving hero we know and love. Seeing the three of them together again was magical and they all get their moments to shine.
The score by Michael Giachinno is thunderous and pulse pounding in the best way as this was the most action heavy of all Jurassic films. He excelled in delivering new, tension filled and emotional themes when the film called for them. Like I said before, these films used to be about so much more than just cheesy dialogue and ridiculous action, but now this film showed that the main focus was completely lost after Jurassic Park. Jurassic World at least took the idea from Park and ran with it. There were globe trotting elements of the film that I liked and the action was sometimes cool, but it became a boring and predictable action film that didn't need the dinosaurs in the long run. I'm not really spoiling anything, but the last 30 minutes of the film is exactly the same as the first Jurassic World and sloppily done I might add. I'm just glad that this franchise is now what it should’ve been after the first Jurassic World, extinct. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

fic rec! This is actually a series, with the whole thing coming in at 292K.
Summary: How intelligent are velociraptors? Very, very intelligent, as Owen Grady discovers in the aftermath of the Jurassic World disaster. But his quest to prove their intelligence and save his raptors will take him further than he ever expected, and the world will never be the same again.
Comments: I went searching for a fic to loose myself in, and lost myself for probably a week in this series. I will probably reread this all in a few years, it’s amazing on so many levels.
Let’s be honest, in the JW movies what we really like is the cool moments between Owen and the raptors. This series makes the movies look dumb - because this takes all those cool moments and ramps them up. We start with riding a bike alongside raptors, move to a raptor cavalry, and finish with dino detectives. It’s GLORIOUS.
This series starts out with the realization that not only are raptors intelligent, they’re sapient, and in the aftermath of the JW movie Blue decides that she’s never going to allow her people to be put into cages again. This story is an epic about the realization that raptors should be treated equal to humans and the struggle to get there. It involves lots of action adventures, kidnapping, arson, and...what I can only describe as romantic-only monster poly relationships. Like, raptors socially bond with humans for life (romantic only or QPR, take your pick) but they each totally also have relations on the side with others of their species. Blue asking Owen for his opinion on an egg-father is amazing.
I love how detailed and well-thought out the raptor culture is and how there’s a lot of layers to it. They hang off of Alan Grant’s every word, eager to learn about their old society, even while committing to building a different world where they live among humans. There’s different body languages, different body language capabilities, different point of views, even subtle differences in the cadences of their language.
Plus, again, this is just a cool story. I want to see it animated. Illustrated.
