A Handful of Ashes

I give up my desires to dream about you without saying a word. I get rid of loneliness to understand how much breath is needed to live.

I am not the same desire that led you through the next crossroads, that allowed you to scream if tears were too much.

I prudently love emeralds hidden in the left corner of your heart, I love the longing that allows me to be proud of my worn-out conscience.

I undress myself from the poem that brought me your delicate senses, that shared the emptiness so that I could understand you once more.

My shadow becomes a handful of ashes so that I can wake up from reality. I pick up the embodied solitude from the floor, so fragile, so vast that my thoughts are plunged into darkness, that fear escapes from itself.
