THIS BLOG IS A SAFE SPACE FOR QUEERS, POC, DISABLED, INTERSEX, TRANS, AND ANY AND ALL MARGINALIZED GROUPS THAT ARE NOW IN MORE DANGER DUE TO THE ORANGE IN OFFICE.
Don't worry about the random fandom clutter, I enjoy collecting.
Edit: I somehow forgot to add neurodivergent people here. AND YES ALL OF THEM. I myself am neurodivergent so this feels like a joke

I had a dream
Tumblr media
So this time is about this round robot. The setting takes place in a world where technology is extremely advanced where machines run everything. Robots are the authority now, they outnumber humans by a lot and human are just there existing and assist.
So this round robot, the protagonist, is being hunted. Everyone’s after her (the round robot) because there’s a bounty on her head. Every machine knows she’s not supposed to be around. The moment they detect her, they would like, beam red lights on her, and armed forces show up almost instantly. So the whole dream had a lot of those series of very intense chases and her hiding in places, doing everything she can to survive.
Why is she being hunted? Because this round robot broke the one rule/law that all robots shouldn't break. Sentience is forbidden. Any robots showing signs of it must be destroyed on the spot.
She has a purpose in grained in her, she doesn't know why, but it feels like a command or directive she can't ignore, that purpose was to find her creator, her scientist.
Her last memory before gaining sentient was of her scientist being taken by the armed forces. Back then, she wasn’t self-aware yet, and before the scientist was taken away the robot was hidden somewhere secret and off-grid.
The round robot stayed there for years, maintaining the place like someone still lived there, waiting for an owner that never seemed to return. Over the years (and who knew how long it was), maybe it was that routine, or the absence of commands, or the picture of the scientist on the wall slowly eroding, the round robot slowly started thinking, and becoming something more she was designated to be (or maybe she was meant to grew sentient).
Anyway, back in the present, she’s being chased again. But this time, one of the humans in the armed forces actually helps her hide. He’s wearing a green coat, looks chill, the kind of guy who could chain-smoke 20 cigarettes in one sitting and have that "I'm not paid enough to do this", and the "looks lazy and useless but is actually a genius" vibe. She doesn't know why he helped her, but she catalogued his details and quickly went away to find spots to hide once again.
She finds herself in this strange white zone. Everything’s clean, sterile, with fake plants, a hologram waterfall, and artificial animals like birds, monkeys and bugs. It’s like a memory of what forests used to be, something only seen in premium districts in curated green house/domes. Not the underground slums where she came from. Oddly enough, there are no detectors or patrol bots here, aside from the ones running the holograms. For once, she gets to move freely. She even enjoys the moment, observing and get fascinated by these remnants of Earth.
Until the waterfall suddenly released above her, flushing her down a path.
(ok im not really sure what happened here in the dream but) Music started playing, and there’s some weird dance sensor she has to react to in a panic. The water was like sweeping her backward (like her back was facing the direction of the current so she couldn't see where she was heading), when she’s carried away, she sees a row of really elderly humans sitting quietly on white benches.
They wore white robes, sitting still on the benches, it was eerie because they barely move or gave any reactions, were they even alive? Something is wrong she needs to fly up-
A hatch opens. She’s flushed down with the water, and it immediaely seals shut above her.
She knew instantly where she was because of the sudden silence and pressure changes. Somehow, she has reached the end of the world, The Void.
The space is massive and silent. A huge rectangular structure with the hatch stretches down into what seems like forever. She looked around and saw there were other hatches as well. Surveillance drones float above, there were four of them, moving in a routine. Two more cling to the walls. So these bots were not as tightly guarded as the surface, but still enough to make her stay alert and stick close to the blind spot of the wall.
She might’ve doomed herself. How is she supposed to get back into the city? How can she find her scientist from here? She could only pray the hatches open again....

in a fair world, all israeli-american dual citizens would be stripped of their american citizenship and banned from reapplying for citizenship. every single nation ought to do this with israelis (and americans as well, stripping american-x citizens of x citizenship). it's sickening to imagine the bloodthirsty cunts flooding back into this country for "sanctuary," no different from the sheltering of nazi war criminals in operation paperclip but on a larger scale, by our equally bloodthirsty government when israel is finally torn to shreds. go down with that israel you felt you entitled to that you have the distinction of having commited the best documented genocide in history, you schizo, jewish supremacist cunts. you can't call israel, and god forbid america, pariah states if you don't do the right thing and make them real pariahs in the world. no citizenship, no visas, no trade, no aid. eat shit and die like you deserve, State and citizen.

god dammit, god fucking dammit
People are talking about not voting for Biden.
Again.
I'm just so tired of this argument.
I just can't do Trump again.
I can't.
His incompetence killed so many people. A panel estimated 40% of COVID deaths could have been averted.
One of those deaths was my mother.
She was killed because people didn't trust the vaccines and they didn't think masks were worth the inconvenience. That man could have gone on TV and said "This is the Trump vaccine and it is great." He could have sold fucking MAGA masks on his website. He had 100% influence over his dipshit followers and could have used that for the greater good. But he was too vain to wear a mask in public and bungled the vaccine rollout.
And now I worry some of my trans loved ones may not make it through another far right administration. They have this giant target on their back right now and conservatives seem determined to eradicate as many trans lives as possible.
I wrote a whole ass post about how I didn't care for Biden. I still don't. But when I try to imagine what a right wing administration would be doing right now... that seems like it would be a nightmare orders of magnitude worse than the current nightmare.
As someone with an untreatable chronic illness, I know the feeling of being presented with choices where all of them suck. And I have had to survive by choosing the least sucky option over and over.
It feels bad every single time.
I hate it.
And I still fucking choose.
It should be different. There should be better choices. I shouldn't have to choose the least bad thing among all bad things.
But there are people and things in this world I feel are worth sticking around for, so I continue to choose the least sucky thing.

We don't talk enough about how goddamn funny Tighnari is. That man is unphased by everything.
Cyno shows up at his doorstep with a small child who is traumatized, illiterate, terminally ill, has an ancient god sealed away in her body, and asks him to help raise her, and Tighnari's only objection is that he doesn't know how to teach preschool level academics.
He eats a poisonous mushroom, passes out, has a hallucination and just goes "damn that was crazy. Let me write it down for science."
The dudes in charge of the whole country repeatedly beg him to come work for them and he tells them to fuck off.
The second fatui harbinger, said to be as strong as a god, threatens him and he basically tells him to fuck off too.
The traveler gets possessed by god and then comes back to tell him that the sages are building a false god and he's like "Damn that's fucked up. Anyways I gotta go check on my patient."
Dehya and the Traveler basically say "Hey we are helping Cyno overthrow the government" and he's just like bet.
He get's struck by lightning and is just like "Oof. Anyways gotta go check on my patient, good luck fighting a god".
He finds an illegal sentient robot crab and just adopts it and tells the matra not to worry about it.
He passes out from heat exhaustion in the desert and is just like "Damn. I'll need to bring some sunscreen next time".
Finds out Cyno has a long lost brother/cousin and is just like "Cool. Why don't you come over for dinner, meet the family".
The craziest shit can happen to this man and he's just like "Allright why not. This might as well happen" and I love that about him

I would love to know what viable alternatives you've thought of for making real change. It is very easy to say we should overthrow the entire government because everything about it sucks, but that's not going to actually happen. At least writing emails and making phone calls does SOMETHING even if that thing is small. Are YOU active in your community making real positive changes? Or just blogging about it?

i would love for you to get off my dick? why are you interrogating random people for what they reblog? i dont need to justify what i share to others to you.

The "vulnerable people can die for my ideology" brand of progressivism
(It's also telling how often this particular breed of Tumblr Leftist forgets about disabled people).
People who spend all their time posting the “correct” progressive beliefs but then refuse to vote are so weird.
It feels like that very Christian mentality that Believing the Correct Beliefs is all you have to do, and you don’t actually need to get involved in the world around you, and in fact attempting to Do Anything in the physical world rather than philosophizing endlessly would make you morally impure. It’s the Trolley Problem— doing something that causes less harm means you have to do something, but people don’t like to feel they have any agency.
It’s also weird that people think not voting means not participating in the system or not being complicit in it— like, dude!! If you live in America, you are already complicit. You will continue to be complicit.
Some of these people try to “buy indulgences” via donating to charity or gofundmes— but the reality is that charity is a bandage over wounds that don’t need to exist. you can donate as much as you want but it won’t solve the underlying problems, it’ll just put a bandaid over them. There will always be another gofundme or charity drive as long as the actual government policies creating the environment for them continue to exist.
Tl: Dr: it’s The “Leftists” Who Don’t Do Anything.
I am very confident that you are what you do, not just what you believe. And I have a lot of negative feelings towards people who Believe The Correct Things but don’t actually do anything to help because they treat government as a philosophy game fandom discourse about who is the most Morally Pure. If your leftist group is planning to overthrow the government tomorrow, fine, but otherwise you have a moral obligation to reduce the amount of harm the government causes.

I’ve seen a lot of headcanons and fics where Viago disapproves of Rook getting together with Lucanis. And ones that focus on how an alliance with the De Rivas benefits House Dellamorte, which is definitely true, and i fucking love them, but consider Viago probably couldn’t possibly ask for a better partner for Rook.
Though to be fair I am obsessed with Viago and his belief that he could restore the royal power of Treviso and that “He will not be satisfied until he sits upon a throne.”
While as a talon, he’s definitely more powerful than the king, and he could probably easily overthrow his father and take the throne. But that's probably not his biggest issue, because as my old history teacher used to say, “Power cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred, so by restoring the power of the royal family, he’d be taking power away from the merchant princes and the other talons. Which, it’s probably safe to assume they wouldn't be happy about”. (Also as a side note, the quote “It’s not paranoia if they’re out to get you” is applicable here. Viago is a man planning to make A Lot of enemies)
And remember, this man is still the 5th talon, and while he’s allied with Teia, she’s also only the 7th talon. (Though they definitely should have gotten a promotion after the events of 8 little talons). So he’s not really in any position to actually make any power play, not unless he wants to piss off 6 of the other houses.
Thankfully, depending on the choices you make, by the end of Veilguard, he’s almost certainly up there among the most powerful people in Antiva, given that he was a key player in ending the occupation of a major city by the Antaam, not to mention the killing of a Literal Evil God. The only Antivans that could be more influential than him at this moment is Teia, who he’s dating and let's be honest, will eventually marry, Rook, who’s his protege,
Among those people, Lucanis is probably the most politically powerful, given that he’s done everything Viago has, in addition to the fact that he actually killed a god, and is now The First Talon. While I feel that he would support Viago in the bid for the throne, he’s also the only one who Viago doesn’t have any sort of formal alliance with. And considering Viago’s general distrust towards basically everyone, he wouldn’t place that much trust in the bonds of friendship, (especially if you believe that he thinks that Lucanis’s attempt at flirting was a threat).
But given the general political upheaval Antiva is probably already in right now, because It’s highly doubtful that Governor Ivenci was the only guy to make deals with the Antaam or Venatori for power, there’s no better time for Viago to make a play for power. With everything so recent it would be so easy for him to step forwards as a figure for people to rally behind, I mean he exposed corruption in the government, he freed Treviso, he trained a god killer, and he’s the son of the king. But If he waits, he kinda does risk somebody else stepping forth.
But after Ivenci’s attempt at getting rid of the crows and the whole Illario debacle, the other Talons would be very suspicious of anyone trying to take power, and while Viago is a Crow, he’s also an infamous curmudgeon who doesn’t really get along with the others.
Luckily, Lucanis is head over heels for Rook, which cements an alliance with House Dellamorte. And well, there’s quite a historical precedent, especially in Antiva, for alliances and weddings to go hand in hand. Not to mention the message it would send to the other talons for Viago to give away Rook, his protege for whom he has already demonstrated a soft spot for, to The First Talon, arguably The Face of the Crows. In addition, a grand high profile Wedding between two heroes who just saved the world, is the perfect thing for the general public to associate Viago with after everything.
I mean I’m pretty sure he would still grumble about it and he’d definitely let Lucanis know that if he ever dared to hurt Rook, Lucanis would wish he was still trapped in the Ossuary. But once he’s certain that they’re serious about each other, Teia and him would be the first people to start bugging them about marriage.

I love your writing can I request a yandere Yelena with younger female reader who is in college please and thank you ♥️💕
My little spider
Tumblr media
Yelena Belova x fem!reader
warning : yandere, stalking, kiss, age gap, manipulation
Summary : Before the Thunderbolts, her only redemption seemed to be the little bit of hope a single student had in her. Something the blonde older didn't want to lose, she never wanted to lose her love, she would never lose it. She had lost family and loved ones before, the former Black Widow would make sure not to lose anyone again.
info : Hi, of course you can have something like this, I'm glad you like my writing so much. I hope you like this little one-shot here, have fun reading ;)
masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They shouldn't have met at all, they should never have met, they lived in two different worlds from an early age.
She was a trained assassin, an assassin, someone who could start wars, overthrow governments and destroy families with one precise shot and the younger one was a simple art history college student who was busy with books and paintings.
They were two worlds that would never have met until the moment a small spider seemed to meet the Black Widow, one dark night in crowded New York, the younger one was simply on her way home from the library.
Still a little lost in thought about the report she had to hand in the day after tomorrow, she had barely noticed the shadow in the alley next to her and would actually have kept walking if she hadn't heard the distinct sound of pain.
No crying or screaming, just a muffled curse and a pained gasp as she saw the dark suit, the holsters, the weapons.
The person who suddenly seemed far too unrealistic, a woman holding her bleeding side, “Do you have a bandage?” was the only question she was asked.
A question so banal in the face of a serious gunshot wound that she barely realized it at first before she picked herself up and went to the older woman to support her.
Who would have thought that a mission with serious consequences would lead Yelena to someone so innocent, someone who didn't know her, who didn't know the dead...someone who looked at her with kindness and genuine concern and made the older girl wonder how she had earned such a thing when she left with the younger one.
This initial encounter a pure coincidence, Yelena had only told a couple of half lies and half truths, “I'll be gone soon bookworm” she mumbled the accent stronger through the pain as she was on her second beer the younger had left in the fridge.
It was strange to have a stranger in front of her like this, a stranger whose eyes were all over her, whose upper body was exposed and only covered by her top, the bandage and compress lying at her side over the emergency wound Yelena had received.
Despite everything, after a few hours of exchanging a few sentences, Yelena decided to sleep on the couch and the "Good night...Russian spider" made her smile, as the other girl had no idea.
The next day she was gone and even though she had only known Yelena for a few hours, the interest she had shown in the books and pictures was somehow cute.
She was pretty even when she was so cute and yet she seemed dangerous, like a spider that spun a web before it struck.
Was it good that she had disappeared again?
A question that arose even a few days after the incident and which prevented her from concentrating on her studies again on the evening of the weekend.
It had been a week since the blonde had been with her, she still had to think about the stranger from time to time, but in a world where aliens had attacked the city more than once, anything seemed possible.
Just as she reached for the key to her apartment and opened the door, the door inside bumped against something she heard a small thud, going inside she was surprised to see that she had knocked over a package.
The problem was when the surprise turned to surprise when she realized that she hadn't ordered anything, that there was no return address on it, that it wasn't from a known company...it was from Yelena.
When she had put her bag down and sat down on the couch in the same place as Yelena, she unwrapped the package and a small showcase with a preserved spider came out next to a note.
Will you come back to me as a spider? she asked herself and put the box on the table before she read the note and couldn't help smiling a little.
The older woman thanked her for the help, for the canned ravioli, the beer and the night on the couch, but most of all she thanked her for caring, something that was actually taken for granted, but apparently in Yelena's world such a thing didn't seem to exist.
It could have stayed that way, but in the days and nights that followed, she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, like when she saw shadows everywhere.
She swore she felt the same watchful eyes on her, saw the blond hair and once even felt in a half-sleep state that someone had touched her.
How could she not think so when the older one had been following her since the night before, never letting her go and, apart from the initial lack of gifts, always making sure that the younger one was well.
What was a simple daily task for her in the free time between the hours was breaking into the apartment at night and lying next to her in bed, patting her, holding her hand carefully and whispering “Thank you”, she never heard it, because once again there seemed to be something between them.
Until the moment when the fear and discomfort increased, when this gratitude, the obsession and perhaps something more spilled over and she ran straight home.
The shadows of the night were deceptive, but their own fear was even more deceptive.
What was out there that was after her?
Slamming the door behind her, just wanting to make a cup of tea, get some rest, just try to get back to normal life, a cry escaped her when she saw someone sitting on her couch, “Yelena! You scared me to death” she shouted as she leaned against the kitchen counter.
In the light that was now on, Yelena was sitting on the table with two beers in front of her and seemed to have been waiting for her for hours.
The question of how she had come in, what she was doing and what she was doing was burning inside her, but the exuberant look, the joy and somehow also the gratitude were a total contrast.
"Sorry lovely, I thought we could have a drink together again", she said casually as if nothing had happened, waiting for the younger woman to calm down and come over to her voluntarily.
Because if there was one thing Yelena wanted to do better was to learn from her mistakes, she had killed enough, had enough blood on her hands...she wanted to be gentle for once, she wanted to have that chance for once.
And when she saw how the little spider, struck by the poison of kindness, came to her, believed her lies and rhetoric, sat down next to her and drank the beer, Yelena knew exactly that everything was going according to plan.
How she gained her trust, how she willingly drew closer, placed her hand on Yelena's, a contrast so soft and small compared to the older woman's that she realized she had never killed anyone before. That her gaze was honest, that there had to be affection in it, it couldn't be any other way, it had to be so.
Yelena would get rid of her sins and guilt so easily when, after hours, the younger one leaned against her as she fell asleep and the older one kissed her on the head, “Sleep well, I'll take care of you forever”.
Slight note about the system of food.
'cause adding it to the large doc might crash my computer?:
I've realized that though historical fiction minds this more when set in pre-industrial times, that often fantasy set in agricultural societies doesn't seem to do this, though it should.
So I'll give you an example...
Almost everything in Korean food is centered and bred for two things: Kimchi and soy sauce.
But what you don't realize in your industrialized state how freaking long it takes to make these things and how much planning is involved and how much you have to mind the seasons in order to make it correctly.
Kimchi:
Baekchu (or other vegetables) that's often harvested in fall.
The salt, which was traditionally sea salt was harvested in the spring and summer months.
Garlic is a spring to mid summer crop.
The sweet rice that goes into winter kimchi takes a ton of work to make and can take from Spring to fall.
The fish sauce that goes into Kimchi that helps preserve it for over a year, takes and ENTIRE YEAR to make. Yes, a year. You really, really have to plan on that. And what do you do if the fishing is poor for that year?
Spring onions are faster to grow, but you still have to time it for the fall kimchi making.
The fish are seasonal. For example, Yellow Corvina is taken in Korea in the spring. Shrimp in the summer (June), and anchovies in early spring to fall.
Your timing has to be impeccable and you need an entire year to plan this one dish.
Meanwhile, you, industrialized person, take for granted that you can get fish sauce any time you like and can pour it over kimchi.
In fantasy this could add flavor to your fantasy make up, if your character can only get this dish once a year. It can add political unrest (What do you mean the salt harvest was poor and we're left with the shitty metallic salt), because your characters in an agricultural society will be subject to weather changes, which you get when reading historical fiction and so on. Three seasons of poor harvest, daaaamnn... the people might overthrow their government. There might be new religions that pop up, there might be uprisings because the King and Queen are eating feasts every day while the peasants are eating things that are empty calories.
What I'm saying is that you can't be too entrenched into industrial mindset if you're not writing an industrial setting.
That orange is seasonal and only comes about in a connected system that has winter and a warmer climate.
Maybe there are key foods for your climate that are highly treasured or sought after. Mandarins once were. Cacao. Think a bit about those things and how it might interact with the larger world. When does your plant mature and when can it be harvested? is it different from different climates? There's wars that have been fought over food. (Tea, famously, at least a few times).
A staple crop failing is going to have devastating consequences.
And yet, often in fantasy, I often see people going, ya know what I can eat in the dead of winter, strawberries. Do we have greenhouses? No. Did we have freezers? No. But you know what my character is eating? A strawberry. Yeah, think about that. Strawberries don't preserve well. So plan out the timing of your dishes a bit (to the climate and subsistence system) and it can give a bit of background worldbuilding to your dishes and food.
I do have to say that the small mentions from Rings of Power on what's in season or not and why kinda made me feel like the world and the traveling was more "real" with the Harfoot. There's small references to fall v. spring crops.
13yo went with her dad to work today and spent an hour on the beach alone, minding her own business, going rockpooling, and taking 36 photos of the beach that she whatsapp'ed me at lunchtime... and swindling ice cream from him when he was done.
she came home with a huge smile on her face, more energy, and an aura of peace.
basically, the moral of this story is lie to your kid's school that she has a migraine and let her spend an hour on the beach and the rest of her day in bed. amen.
normalise mental health days for kids.
13yo has been in bed all day sleeping because last week's exams took so much out of her and she finally crumbled today. she has a teacher training day on tuesday so i told her to take tomorrow off if she needs it so she has 4 days to recover from all her anxiety.
will she always be able to do that? no. but she's a child. if she doesn't get that extra day tomorrow, she could be out for an entire week, if not more. one day for the sake of her mental health is not the end of the world. one day could be the difference between autistic burnout and her finishing this school year.
her anxiety is not less worthy of a day off than a stomachache.
