#Saying Au shouldn’t do basketball bc “the market is saturated”#is such a weird and uninformed take#there are two opportunities for U.S. players to play domestically in the offseason. One of them is in their first season and it isn’t Au#not to mention they are different opportunities#3x3 vs 5x5#Plus the player pool for each is almost completely distinct#these randoms really do bug me#Also I don’t think it is possible to have an oversaturated market in the U.S. like this#Especially when you look at what leagues in Europe look like#another thing Au is pretty much there so players can hone their skills and improve#whereas unrivaled is designed to bridge the wage gap that was covered when playing at to clubs overseas#and again I could reply but I don’t go on public Twitter during the day for reasons#and just knowing that I am more informed on an issue is sometimes enough#Like when there isn’t an invitation to discourse as there would be on say Reddit

Behind her eyes.WNBA!reader x Alexia putellas.
Summary: Alexia and R's relationship is tested after what happened at one of r's basketball games
--------------------------------------------------
Your girlfriend’s eyes were the reason why you fell in love with her. They were the first thing that caught your attention when it came to her and they are the thing you looked for when you were lost, upset or angry.
You first noticed her hazel eyes when she sat court side at one of your games in barcelona. You had just joined the catalonian team after the end of the wnba season. It was your first time playing in the Spanish league. In fact, it was your first time playing overseas and you didn't acclimate very well. You didn't know anybody, you didn't speak the language, you were just lonely and homesick.
It all changed on one home game, alexia came with a bunch of her teammates to support your new team, she sat courtside and watched attentivly as your team played valencia. You weren't feeling like yourself in your new home yet so you hadn't put on your usual performance. It all changed when you got fouled and fell directly in front of her. Angry, you wanted to pick a fight with the player that fouled you but you got distracted by a perfect face or more less a pair of dreamy eyes. They took you back for a moment and you kept thinking about them for a couple plays. You even glanced at her direction when you weren't moving the ball. She lit a fire inside of you, one that you have been trying to ignite ever since you left the US. You had to do better, you had to impress this person and leave an impression on her.
After the break, in the 3rd quarter, you put your game face on and started to direct play on the floor. You shot 3s, layups, blocked shots, assisted your teammates and over all controlled play. By the end of the game, the crowd was loud , and your team was leading the game by 20 points, which is the most this team has ever led with . You were happy, and you were yourself again.
You were celebrating with your teammates and coach when the social media manager came to you and asked you to come take a picture with alexia and her teammates. You got nervous all of a sudden but you tried to keep your cool. You introduced yourself, took the photo and tried as much as you could to memorize her features.
“ Hey, your shooting ability is impressive.” she says, her spanish accent apparent in her english.
“ What we do here is easy compared to controlling a ball with your feet, and running on the giant field you guys play in for 90 minutes.” you reply.
“ I guess every sport has its ups and downs.” she added.
“ You want to take some shots?” you invited her while bouncing the ball on the floor. She hesitantly accepted and so you helped her by correcting her form allowing her to take shots.
“ Holy shit you might be coming for my job.” you complimented her.
“ I don't think so. I am pretty attached to football, or as you people say soccer.” she says sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
“ don't count me in with those people calling it soccer and not football is pretty stupid.” you take another shot while holding eye contact with alexia. “ Besides, I am pretty damn good at my job.”
You two continue talking about the differences of your sports all the way down to the locker room where alexia’s teammates were waiting for her.
“ Come on, capi, we're gonna be late. “ says one of her teammates.
“ I came to one of your games, now it's your turn to come to mine.”
“ will do capi.” you joked before giving her a kiss goodbye.
Throughout the next couple of months you went to every game of hers you could and she did the same to you. You always stayed late talking, laughing, sometimes even practicing each other's sports after every game.
Talking after the game turned into dinners, then sex, and eventually you two started dating. You met her friends and family, and slept regularly at her house when you were in barcelona.
Your life seemed perfect, you were in your A game, you had a gorgeous girlfriend and you two loved the hell out of each other, you had friends in this strange new country who you would go out to brunch with on the weekend. You frankly were the happiest person in the world. Well, that only lasted for about 8 months.
It all happened at once in one second your perfect life came crashing down. During the playoffs, It was a regular 1v1 battle, you tried to turn around and make a shot but your knee thought otherwise and caused you to fall to the floor and scream out loud. The pain was inimaginable. Quickly, tears were streaming down your face, your teammates formed a huddle around you to shield you from the cameras, and the medic came rushing towards you.
“ hey do you hear me?” she asked. It was hard for you to focus. But all of a sudden it became clear, you didn't feel the pain anymore, and you stopped crying.
“ Non-contact injury, my knee, it's an ACL tear right?” you looked at the medic with a little hope in your eyes.
“ most likely. I am so sorry.” she said as she and her assistant tried to pull you up and help you hop to the locker room.
On the way there you look to your left and see a scared alexia. You looked at her eyes where you usually find solace and hope only to find sympathy and fear. She gave a reassuring smile but you looked at the ground immediately.
Once in the locker room, the medics began explaining the situation.
“ I know everything that’s gonna happen, I have been through this before. Its hard and it fucking sucks. I just want to go home now. I will be back tomorrow for scans.”
The medical team complies with your request and helps you go to the locker room to collect your things. Once you find yourself alone you smash one of your crutches on the ground multiple times, you bend the steel. You weren't proud of what alexia saw when she came in to check on you but you had to get the anger out of you. You would find out later that the crutch didn't get all of it.
Throughout the whole car ride flashes of the pain of rehab and hard work you put on only 3 years ago flooded your memory. You only got out of your head when you noticed the route that the car you were in was taking.
“ alexia i want to go home.” you say in a surprisingly harsh tone. She didn't look at you and continued driving.
“ alexia.” you repeat again.
“ You are not gonna scare me into pulling away from you.” she replied calmly.
“ Alexia, I just want to go home.” you say again not giving up your harsh tone.
“ we are going home amor. Home where I can be with you and take care of you.” .
“ I didn't ask you to. Just take me to my fucking house.”
What you said seemed to anger her so she pulled over. “ Let's get this out of the way now. First you are not going to drive me away, I love and I won't let you go. Second , you don't talk to me like that, not with that town and ot with those words. Third, call me Alexia again and you won't like what happens.” she shares eye contact with you again before putting her seat belt back on and driving home.
You didn't say a word through the rest of the car ride, you just dove into the sea of painful memories your brain prepared for you. When alexia notices your sudden change of demeanor, she puts her hand on your thigh only for you to flinch. You flinching at her touch meant that you were thinking about your past relationship and that's when alexia put two and two together.
You didn't realize that you two were home until Alexia opened your door and handed you your crutches.
“ alexia just take me to my house.”
“ We will talk about it upstairs, come one.”
You felt sick to your stomach, all you wanted to do was throw yourself in her arms and let her stroke your hair and scratch your back until you fell asleep.
Outside in the world and to the media your personality was larger than the world. You were loud, fun , playful, and funny. When you came you closed the door behind you and your girlfriend you craved to just lay on her and let her take care of you. However you were too proud to ever say anything out of fear she might not like the other side of the coin.
“Bébé talk to me please.”
You tried to keep your mouth shut. You tried so hard to swallow your words. But you could you couldn't keep it in anymore.
“ I am just so tired of pretending.” you whisper.
“ louder mi amor.”
“ This person I am about to become is grumpy, sad, angry and in pain. I am not gonna be the fun cocky person anymore. I have been through this before. It never fails to break me so please just take me home . I want to go home, and cry about my season at home that I lost. I want to cry about the fact that I will go through this miserable journey again. I want to cry about the fact that all I want is to be held by my girlfriend but I can't ask for that because I am afraid you will leave me. i just want to fucking cry.” by now you were hysterically crying and yelling. Alexia was holding you tight , her hands were becoming white.
“ I love you so much.” she just kept repeating that phrase over and over until you calmed down.
“ I will never leave you. I would love to hold you and take care of you and I don't pity you. You just had a fantastic season in a strange country and I am so proud of that and we will battle this together. “ she continued to rub your arms and whisper how much she loved you no matter what your mood was. You couldn't resist the temptation to drop your guard and be who you are anymore.
“ promise you will never leave me ale.” you plead.
“ I promise you that I will never leave. I am so sorry I didn't make you sure enough in my love for you. I promise you to do better.”
“ Can you help me take a bath and go to bed then. tomorrow is gonna be tough i need to sleep.
“ alright amor but first i want to hold you some more and stroke your hair.”
Somehow , She knew that that's what you ached for the most.
You turn your head and look into her eyes again to find love and admiration instead of the sympathy and fear that was there before so you relaxed and let her take care of you.
You knew since the moment you saw her that her eyes were your saving grace.

breeding kink with paige!!
𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮 - 𝙥.𝙗𝙪𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨
summary: yn + babies = horny paige.
-> !! strap use, breeding kink !!
-> i’m sorry i’ve been mia for ages !
𖦹 masterlist
“𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗚𝗘! 𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗬 𝗨𝗣 we gotta go!”
i shout at my girlfriend from the bottom of the stairs. we had to leave if we wanted to get to my parents house in time.
“i’m coming!”
the tall blonde came hurtling down the stairs, still pulling her shirt on.
it was the family dinner/reunion, since i hadn’t seen all of them in a while. my family all knew of paige and most have met her, but my sister and her husband had been away overseas and haven’t had the chance yet.
we finally made it to the car and paige hopped in the drivers seat, she always drove us around.
when we got to my parents house there was already cars parked in the driveway. i grabbed paige’s hand and walked up to ring the doorbell. it was my mother who answered the door, grabbing me in a big hug when she saw me.
i stepped aside to reveal paige and my mother hugged paige enthusiastically.
“so nice to see you again, paige!”
“nice to see you too, mrs. yln. thank you for having me.”
she invited us in, rambling about how happy she was to have the whole family here. that’s when my sister came to see who had arrived, and in her arms was a tiny baby.
my gasp was audible as i stared at the little human.
“when were you going to tell me you had a child?”
my sister only laughed and handed the baby over to me. i cradled the thing in my arms, staring down at it lovingly.
“her name is celia. we only had her a couple months ago.”
i let out a breathy ‘aww’, turning to paige.
“paige look! it’s so tiny and cute.”
i looked up at my girl to show her the baby, which she was already doing.
“oh also paige this is my sister, charlie.”
paige reached over to shake hands with my sister and her husband who was standing behind her. my mother interrupted then, telling us all to go to the dining area.
we all moved towards the table, taking a seat as my mother and father brought out the food. i passed celia back over to my sister while we ate, not wanting to injure her.
after everyone was done eating we all sat and talked, chatting about everything. paige was asked about her basketball which she seemed to like. she had a hand resting on my thigh, edging upwards every so often.
almost an hour later and it was time for me and paige to go home. we bid farewell to everyone, waving as we exited the house.
paige took my hand as we walked to the car.
she didn’t say much on the drive home, occasionally humming along to whatever song was on the radio, but she was abnormally quiet.
even after we had gotten through the door, paige was still quiet.
“p, what’s going on?”
“you drove me insane today.”
“mmm?”
“when you had celia… it made me think. i want to have babies with you. badly.”
“ohh. y’know you should’ve said something earlier, p. we could’ve left early… had some fun.”
her eyes grew visibly darker, bordering on possessive.
“yea? care to show me what kind of fun we’re talking about?”
i threw a devilish smirk at her before walking to the closet, reaching for our secret drawer. opening it to grab the newest addition to our collection, a purple strap.
i walk it back to paige, handing her the toy and simultaneously dragging my hands up her toned arms and stomach.
“want you to put your babies in me, p.”
i speak in a low, sultry tone.
paige doesn’t miss a beat, walking me back to fall onto the bed. she strips down to her sports bra, taking her boxers off and stepping into the harness. i take the hint and remove my dress to reveal a matching lingerie set, purple to match paige.
she catches sight of it and immediately grins.
“all dressed up for me, ma?”
i nod vigorously, desperate for paige to touch me. she takes her eyes over my semi exposed body, skimming her fingers over the lace bra i had on.
“take it off.”
her voice is quiet but i still hear her. my fingers are quick to remove the piece and paige latches her mouth onto my nipple immediately after.
“mmm.”
the sensation sends shocks to my core.
paige only pulls back after she’s given ample attention to both tits. she promptly grabbed my ankles and dragged me to the edge of the bed.
running a finger through my folds, gathering the forming wetness and sucking it off her digit. the sight made me wetter.
paige lined up the strap with my entrance, holding my legs wide. when she finally pushed in i let out a sigh at the pleasure. we started with a slow pace, before paige thrusted faster. the sounds of skin slapping echoed through the room, the feeling of the strap hitting just the right spot pushing me closer to my first orgasm of the night.
paige had hooked both my legs over her shoulders, picking up the pace even further. she had incredible stamina, barely breaking a sweat.
“p-paige, i’m close.”
she kept her pace, adding her fingers to rub against my clit.
that surely sent me over the edge as i cried out paige’s name while i came.
paige slowed down and pulled out, careful not to jostle me too much. i came down off of my high to a grinning paige.
“no rest for the wicked, baby. i know you’ve got one more in you.”
i wanted to laugh at how horny paige was even after what we’d done. paige guided me onto all fours and easily slipped back inside me.
she started thrusting slowly, allowing me to adjust to the pace. soon she was quickening her pace, harsh thrusts hitting just right inside me. it was overwhelming, the pleasure rushing back in waves.
i moaned out, arching my back so my ass and pussy were up in the air and pushing back on paige’s strap.
“that’s it baby, keep fucking me like that.”
her hands grabbed my ass, guiding me back and forth through her thrusts.
“oh, paige! i’m cumming!”
her thrusts became harder, more determined.
“‘m gonna pump my babies in you. such a pretty mama.”
and with that i was spasming around her plastic cock. i moaned out in pleasure, telling paige not to stop, to fuck me through it.
she slowed down eventually and pulled out, this time discarding the strap on the bedside table. i collapsed onto my side, thoroughly fucked out.
“do you think you’ll have my babies now?”
paige grinned cheekily at me with that glint in her eye.
“if i don’t then we always have tomorrow to make up for it.”
paige took that promise literally.

"Can you visit mom and dad this weekend with me?" You nibble on the rest of your ramen while you wait for your brother to respond. You're currently sitting on a table outside near the trees, taking your lunch under the shade.
"Can't. I have plans with the boys."
"Wonwoo." You sigh.
"What? I promise, I'll head up there the weekend after. You can come with if you want. Sorry. I just planned this ahead of time and can't go back on my word now."
"Fine." You sip your water and toss your trash onto your tray before standing and throwing it into the appropriate bins.
"What, has mom and dad been on you again about us not visiting?"
"Kinda, yeah? You know how they always make passive aggressive comments because we don't come to see them often." You grab another cup of coffee, taking your time mixing it with half and half and some sugar. "It's always 'you two are always too busy for your parents!' or a 'it doesn't even take long to visit your parents!'" Your younger brother sighs as you quietly hand over some cash to the mobile coffee shop attendant.
"I know, but they also don't understand we've got our own things going on, too."
"I guess, yeah." You lick your lips and take a small sip, being careful enough to not burn your tongue from the scorching temp. "We really should do better, though."
It's not that your parents were bad. In fact, your parents were amazing. They had brought up both you and your younger brother comfortably and happily, sending you both to the best schools and supporting you until you two were able to fully walk on your own two feet, soar high with your own two wings.
It truly was just life.
You had gotten busy; always working at the hospital, growing from the bottom up, barely taking any of your vacation or sick days. If you did, it was because you had to or else you'd reach your max, or because you truly were rotting away in your death bed from a bad flu or food poisoning.
Otherwise, you were always at work. You were always with your girls. You were always going to lagree or bootcamp style studio classes. You were always doing something to occupy your time— mainly work. And the same thing goes for your brother, younger than you by 2 years.
He's just a boy.
But, he's your brother and you're incredibly close to him. He was always listening, was always good growing up. Would always protect you, especially from dumb boys and fake friends. He got good grades and went to college overseas before moving back home and settling down. Since then, he's always learned how to be on his feet— barely ever staying stationary. He, too, was always out with his boys. Working as a full-time software engineer, working out. Traveling when he gets the chance. Dating every now and then. But, you do love that he's living life and spending time with good people. He seems to have a good balance between his work and personal lives, which makes you happy.
It's just unfortunate that you two can't seem to manage slipping in more time with your parents. You both had agreed to do better about it, especially with your parents getting older.
"Are you still gonna see them this weekend, or are you gonna wait for me?"
"Yeah, I'll pop in for a second. I already told them I'd swing by."
"Hm." He hums. "Tell them we'll stop by for longer next weekend."
"Yeah, after I get the earful first."
"They won't." He clears his throat. "So, how's work been? Ate lunch well?"
"Yeah, I did. Work's been kinda crazy. They're opening this new department at the main hospital and it's expanding into the pediatrics side, too. We've been gearing up for it."
"Oh, really?" You nod as if your brother can see you.
"Yeah. They've been working with adult patients for their two studies, but they're going to start their pediatrics study soon. Pending on the IRB approval. But, once that's all good, they're hoping to secure their first patient, and we need to have everything ready to go."
"That's pretty cool."
"It is, but kinda hectic. Too many moving parts and people involved. It's a lot to keep up with."
"I'm sure you'll handle it well. You always do." You let out a small sigh before checking your watch and slowly walking back towards the peds hospital.
"Hope so. Work's been okay for you?" He chuckles.
"Same old! Nothing much has changed. Not like that, anyway."
"I see. So, what happened to that one girl you were seeing recently?"
"Uh, we're just better off as friends."
"Better keep that to yourself before mom starts setting you up on blind dates."
"Same goes for you. She'd probably go for you first. Been tryna marry you off." You roll your eyes.
"It's not my priority and she doesn't get that."
"She wants a grand baby and lowkey, I kinda want a nephew or niece to spoil, too."
"You're no help." He snorts. "Anyway, I gotta head back to my office and get some work done, I got a big meeting for that new department later today."
"Alright. Well, text me when you get home and try to take it easy."
"I will, you too, punk." Wonwoo chuckles. "Love you."
"Love you too!" And with that, the call ends. Your eyes are glued to your phone as you continue to walk back towards the hospital. The weather isn't too bad today, a slight breeze hitting your skin to balance out the warmth from the sun. You continue to switch between keeping your eyes in front, back down to your phone as you scroll through social media to catch up to things you've missed over the past few hours. When you finally get into view of the familiar building and the side lobby entrance, you slip in and head straight to the elevator without paying much attention— especially when it dings and slides the doors open for the individual behind to step out. You feel a soft thud; your body slightly coming into contact with theirs, causing some of your coffee to spill out of the opening on the lid.
"Oh— oh shit, I'm so sorry!" You look at the tall figure, wide-eyed as you survey his outfit to make sure your coffee didn't spill everywhere on his jacket.
"You're good." He says, eyes coming down to his jacket. There's a few drops of coffee dripping down near the zipper, but nothing that can't be fixed.
"I'm soooo sorry." You repeat as you dab a napkin at his jacket.
"No, seriously. It's fine. You're good." He laughs, brushing you off in a friendly manner. "Nothing laundry can't fix."
"Still another piece to add to your load." You look up at him and slightly pout. "Sorry."
"Maybe just be careful next time?" He gives you a small smile before he brushes past and out of the elevators. You realize he's got his large hand still propped up to prevent the elevator doors from closing on you, and you can't help but feel extra embarrassed. You do a tiny nod before he lets out a small chuckle and walks away, allowing you to be in your peace as you slip into the elevator and watch the doors close in front of you.
It just had to be him.
you: i almost spilled my coffee on a really cute guy ☹️
wonwoo: he'll def never come near you again. way to go sis 💗
you: you're a piece of shit
wonwoo: 🥰
You click your teeth and sigh as you step out of the elevator and onto your floor. You had been working as project manager supporting the pediatrics unit for about a year and a half now, starting at the hospital a few years ago as an admin associate and slowly working your way up.
"What? What's wrong, hun?" Your coworker and also one of your childhood bestfriends, Noeul, chimes in. She works as an HR manager, but her team sits nearby— giving you two the numerous opportunities to chit-chat and catch up in between meetings and tasks.
"I almost spilled my coffee on some really cute guy." She purses her lips together before giving you a toothless smile.
"I mean, you didn't, right?"
"No. Maybe a few drops. Now he'll have another piece of laundry to add to his load. All because of me."
"That's a good way to be memorable." You sigh. "I'm sure he wished he got your number."
"Wow, you're the complete opposite of my brother and I love that." She laughs.
"Of course, I'll always support you."
"How'd your meeting go?" She shakes her head.
"I don't know. So many sensitive issues. I think they only keep escalating and getting worse."
"Are you still dealing with that one manager and her staff member that weren't getting along?"
"Yup. That's exactly the thing that's getting worse."
"Sheesh. I hope they find middle ground soon, or at least find new avenues so they don't have to work with each other."
"Hope so too!" She looks at you. "When's your big meeting with the hospital people?"
"Hm." You hum and check your watch. "In the next hour." You settle at your desk and she follows along, sitting on the edge of the corner. "My inbox blew up over lunch so I gotta take care of a few things before I head over." You sip on your coffee.
"My busy bee." You give her a look. "Goodluck! Let me know how the meeting goes. I've gotta file a few reports and hop into a few other meetings myself. I'll see you later for a quick break?" You give her a small smile.
"Goodluck to you, too." She blows you a little kiss before she's prancing away to her desk, greeting people on the way over. You busy yourself before you need to start packing up and heading over to the main hospital, drowning in a few urgent emails that came in over your lunch break. Time sure flies when your brain is scattered everywhere, your to-do list seemingly never-ending and tossing you in a million different places at once.
You gather your things about 10 minutes before the meeting, which, doesn't give you much wiggle room in case you get lost. You don't go to the main hospital often, and you're not even sure if you have access to the room or how all of this would work. You are familiar with a few people also attending the meeting, but they're equally just as busy and are probably coming from other commitments.
You let out a small breath as you power walk over to the main hospital, happy you're at least getting your steps in for the day. You trickle into the huge lobby along with others, turning towards the left where the elevators are located. You press the button, waiting alongside a visitor as the elevator makes its way down from the 6th floor. You step in and patiently wait off to the side, checking your work calendar on your phone to make sure the meeting was indeed today.
Why does it feel like you're the only one heading over?
Were you the only one late at this point?
You step out of the elevator once you make it up to the 7th floor, pausing in your steps because— where the fuck do you go now? It was such a maze in this hospital, you didn't know whether to go left or right; the numbers on the doors skipping from one number to another. You turn to you right just because you go with your gut, hearing a trail of soft voices as you finally see a group of people heading towards a huge conference room further down [and definitely closer to your left had you just turned that way]. You pick up your pace, nodding and sending soft smiles to the familiar faces that catch you through the window of the room as they settle into their seats. Rushing over, someone is stationed at the door— probably waiting for you to make it inside.
"Thank you— oh, hi." You look up at the same, tall figure you damn near spilled your entire cup of coffee on.
"Hi." He gives you a toothless smile as he holds the door open for you. "Well, at least you aren't ramming into me with your cup of coffee this time." He jokes and you can't help but feel the heat rise to your cheeks.
"Yeah, mm'sorry about that still." You wince and slightly pout.
"I'm just joking. No worries. It happens." He smiles down at you, waiting for you to walk into the conference room. You give him another subtle, short bow before slipping into a chair on the opposite side of the table. You watch as he greets people coming into the room, a bit confused as to why he's still standing by the door until he finally sees the face he's been looking for.
He's got some kind of wit, some charm. Can't deny it's pretty attractive.
And to your surprise, he plops down in the seat next to you, followed by one of his team members [the said face he'd been looking for] you assume.
"Hope you don't mind."
"No, not at all." He gives you another toothless smile before eyeing your badge.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N." He puts out a hand for you to shake. "Yunho."
"Nice to meet you as well, Yunho." You shyly respond. "At least I don't have to call you the guy I almost spilled all my coffee on anymore."
"Yeah, no." He laughs. "This is Taehyun, my team lead. Taehyun, Y/N." You and Taehyun give each other small, curt bows just as the higher ups step in and settle at the front of the room.
"Hey everyone! Thanks for meeting. I know everyone is super busy so it's much appreciated." Yoori says as she flips her laptop open and pulls up the agenda slide on the powerpoint presentation. The meeting kicks off with small introductions around the table since a lot of people hadn't worked together like this, especially you and a select others mainly supporting pediatrics. When Yunho introduces himself, you find yourself enjoying the way he speaks. He's got a deep tone, but nothing off-putting. He speaks lightly and positively, chuckling in between statements.
Yeah, he's def got a witty charm to him.
When it's your turn to speak, you can feel Yunho's eyes from the side. He's paying attention and listening closely even if these are quick introductions to the team. He notices the way you shyly smile at those around you, still managing to speak clearly and concisely despite your nervousness that's physically manifesting in the way that your hands tug on the material of your jeans, fiddling with your fingers underneath the table in between the conversation.
Cute.
Then, after the light, airy introduction portion, the presentation gets a lot more technical, and you find that you're actually more involved in this than you expected. You're being asked to oversee the development of the clinical trial room in the pediatric wing, along with scheduling biweekly meetings to discuss updates. Making sure all required attendees are at the meetings and driving things forward. Coordinating across calendars, providing updates every step of the way.
And things seem to be picking up, moving real fast. Things were stalled and slow just a few months ago; now, it's all gas, no brakes.
When it comes to dealing with the ordering structure and IT developments, Yunho takes the lead and discusses the current updates and how they're still figuring out a few tweaks. Yoori is diligently taking notes on her own laptop, along with everyone else who is clarifying through questions of their own.
"Y/N, can you please work with Yunho and his team and the clinical informatics team to make sure the patient ordering enhancements will be taken care of and pushed through? Along with securing the data storage and network? I'll send you the list of required attendees that need to be at each meeting to help push these efforts forward. Let's prioritize this and try to get that done within the next week." You nod, glancing over to Yunho afterwards. He's got his chin resting on the palm of his hand and his eyes dart down to you. His brows perk up before he gives you a tiny, toothless smile. You feel your hands get sweaty from the look alone, so you divert your attention back to your laptop— typing up the rest of your notes on the side. Yunho can't help but glance over at your incredibly organized notes and the way your emails are categorized; all the folders within folders.
Never-ending folders.
Definitely Type A.
He does like that, though. Can't help but feel a little endeared by it.
As the hour long meeting progresses, you feel yourself getting slightly overwhelmed by your growing task list. You can't help but feel an itch to get to your desk to scribble in your planner and get your thoughts organized.
And as soon as the meeting ends, you cut out with quick goodbyes before rushing over to your office. Yunho was hoping to catch you afterwards to talk a little more, but he watches as you leave, the opportunity now a long gone thought.
"Where'd you go?" Sian, your other good friend, asks. She's in the finance department, and typically comes over to check in with you and Noeul, especially when she has to drop off some mail for the peds hospital. "You and Noeul were both gone."
"I had that meeting, remember?"
"Oh shit, yeah. How'd it go?"
"I don't know." You plop onto your desk and let out a huff, pulling your planner from your bag before pulling up your notes in the cloud on your desktop computer. "So many things to do and everything feels so urgent." You've already got a few people to meet, along with pushing the operational aspect of this huge project. You've got your hands tied.
"Wow, they're moving fast with this."
"Yeah, very." You shake your head as you write out your thoughts, suddenly pausing to look back up at her as she fiddles with the figurines on your desk. "Hey, do you know the IT managers well?"
"Most of them, yeah."
"Do you know Yunho?"
"Jeong Yunho?" You shrug since you didn't really catch his badge on him. "He's the only Yunho I know of. How could you not know him?"
"Girl, I'm mostly on the peds side, I rarely come to that end." You giggle.
"He's handsome as hell. Tall. Super nice and helpful. Him and his team are so good about coming to the rescue ASAP." Sian nudges you and wiggles her eyebrow. "He's a single dad. I believe his daughter is 10? 11? Probably 11."
"Mm, dad of a pre-teen girl."
"Hey. He's making it." Sian shrugs. "Heard he's a really good father despite losing his wife years ago. I'm sure it must have been incredibly hard." You nod.
"Yeah, I can only imagine."
"He's good friends with Park Seonghwa from marketing. I think they're besties or something." You nod.
"I only know Seonghwa from the one interview I did with him when we did the remodeling project at the peds oncology unit. After that, barely have spoken a word to him."
"He's a little hottie, too. But, I heard he's got a thing going on with Yoori."
"Yoori? Like.. Director Yoori?" Sian nods.
"They're so weird about it, though. Definitely not known publicly, but people have seen them out together a select few times. Or, seeing Seonghwa go to her house."
"Nosey." You laugh.
"Well, it's definitely a small world around here."
"Hm." You hum. "So interesting, especially after I just saw her. I would have never suspected."
"What about Yunho, though?"
"First, I almost spilled my coffee on him this morning." Sian nods.
"Why am I not surprised?"
"I'm not that clumsy."
"Mmkay." Sian laughs. "How much coffee?"
"A few drops." You make a face. "And then he ended up being in the meeting and sitting right next to me."
"See, big hospital but small world." You chuckle.
"Feels like college."
"Yeah."
"Speaking of Yunho." You furrow your brows when you see a little notification pop up in your Slack app.
yunho: hey!
you: hi there! you found me!
yunho: 😀 sorry, i tried to catch you after the meeting but you rushed out.
you: oops, yeah. i just had a few things to catch up on.
yunho: all good! do you wanna schedule some time to meet before scheduling the wider meeting with everyone else? i can walk you through everything so we're on the same page.
you: sure, yeah! that'd be helpful. i'm pretty free next week. i just prefer not to schedule anything over lunch if it can be helped. 😅
yunho: i'm the same, don't trip. lol. i'll send you an invite for early next week. what time do you get in usually?
you: mm, around 7:30-8am.
yunho: hm, wanna do 10am on monday then?
you: good with me. ☺️ thank you, yunho!
yunho: sure thing!
"Aw, he even went out of his way to message you." Sian watches you exchange messages from behind.
"Girl, please? We need to talk about getting the patient ordering system together and fixing all the infrastructure for the peds unit."
"Sounds like you'll be working with him closely? I'm actually kinda surprised his team is on this. Not saying they aren't great, but they're a bit smaller and support other departments." Sian ponders for a bit. "The other IT teams are pretty swamped though, now that I think about it. They probably have the best bandwidth right now."
"Who knows. But, yeah. I guess so. His team lead was also there."
"Maybe you'll get close to Yunho."
"Maybe I won't and just get my job done while minding my own business."
"Y/N. You're single and he's single, don't be so quick to cut him off just because he has a kid. You should put yourself out there again." She teases and you roll your eyes.
"Get out." She snorts. You hate that she's a little right about it; it had been awhile since you were in a serious relationship. You might've messed around with an old college classmate a few times, but it was so casual it ended up fizzling out all by itself and that was that. It's not like you had any bad relationships, either. They just weren't a fit, but you didn't hold any bad blood towards each other. Your mom was tired of it, though. She was hoping you'd finally stay in a serious, committed relationship— one where you'd end up walking down the aisle, settling down in a nice family home, one or two little ones running around [or more, she wouldn't be mad about it]. Maybe that's why you also dread visiting home, because she never fails to remind you that she's waiting, and that time doesn't wait for anyone. She gives Wonwoo a piece of it, too.
Just not as much as you.
It's always this game of comparison, trying to one-up her friends in some fashion. It's frustrating to deal with. She didn't understand that you were good with where you were at. And even if you did long for a partner and affection in that sense, it's not like you could wish for it to happen and change your life overnight. These things take time. These things need to develop naturally, wholeheartedly, genuinely;
It wasn't your time yet, you guess.
"Anyway, are we still having our little girls night at your place tomorrow?"
"Mhm. Just gotta visit my parents first then I'm all yours."
"Ah." She nods. "Is your brother coming along?"
"Nope. Next weekend, though."
"Goodluck, sweets. Tell us all about it when we come over." Sian looks at her watch. "I was gonna try to wait for Noeul, but I guess she got caught up in some things. I should head back." You nod. "See you tomorrow, my love."
"See you." She smiles before giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze and turning on her heel to take her walk back over to the main hospital.
As the afternoon rushes by, you're able to dock off a few more things on your list before feeling satisfied enough to call it a day. You decide you're a little too tired and worn out to be driving elsewhere for food, so you'll pop into the main hospital cafeteria.
wonwoo: did you spill your coffee on anyone else today?
you: no 🫥
wonwoo: [sends money]
wonwoo: go get a massage or something dude, relax
you: are you serious?!
wonwoo: yeah. 🙄 got a lil bonus from work, so if i'm eatin, you eatin too i guess.....
you: best brother award 😭
wonwoo: u don't mean it
you: i do!!! ily!!! 💕 i'll never call you bighead again!
wonwoo: yeah u def don't mean it
You giggle to yourself, feeling comforted by your brother even at a distance. The thing about your relationship with Wonwoo is that you two were always sharing in each other's ups and downs— good days, bad days. There was never any competition or need to feel like one had to do better than the other, thankfully; and this was a prime example of how close you and your brother were. You truly can't wait to hang out with him next week. You adore him to bits.
As you head back to the main hospital to grab food for dinner before leaving for the day [you definitely prefer the food there], you catch Yunho speaking to one of the nurses on her way out. She's blushing, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear while she laughs. Yunho looks nervous, but he's keeping himself pretty composed by the way he's smiling and laughing along with her. You brush past them quickly, and you aren't sure if Yunho noticed you or not— not like it matters, anyway.
He was definitely asking her out. And by the looks of it, she said yes. She had been wanting to say yes for awhile.
Welp, there goes the really cute guy you spilled coffee on.
It wasn't your time yet, you guess.

Long Way Home - CC
Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Part 2
Summary: Due to a huge miscommunication, Caitlin and your sister Kate are put through the worst week of their life (based on THIS request)
Warnings: angst my peeps (you asked for it), a happy ending
Word Count: 3.2k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN:
"I don't want you to go," Caitlin says, holding you against her. Your girlfriend of 2 years has not let you go for the last 3 days.
"That makes two of us," your older sister Kate says as she finishes making the three of you grilled cheeses.
Typically you would be the one to cook but since Caitlin had her arms around you 24/7 and the fact that you wouldn't be there pretty soon to make sure they are fed, you opted to let Kate take the lead in making food.
You were given your assignment a few days back and are about to head overseas. You knew this day was coming and so did your family and friends, but knowing never made it any easier.
Growing up, you knew you wanted to serve your country when you graduated high school. You knew when your elementary school hosted a day when active military staff and veterans came to your school for a service day. Your little third-grade self looked up to them and wanted to be them someday.
You went into the military right out of high school - going through training and then getting stationed only about twenty minutes out from where your older sister was going to college. It honestly was the best possible outcome for you starting off.
Kate meant the world to you. She's been your best friend since day one. Growing up people always thought the two of you were twins and honestly, you would have believed them. Kate is only 16 months older than you. The way your parents put you in school, Kate was a grade above you which kept the two of you close. The hardest year was when she went to college and you were stuck in your senior year of high school. The two of you would talk 24/7. She kept you updated on the transition from high school to college and you would keep her updated on your parents.
It was in Kate's sophomore year that Caitlin came onto the scene - Kate and she had become good friends as Kate took the freshman under her wing. You met Caitlin only a few weeks after Kate. You had some time in between training and your first post - deciding it would be fun to spend a few weeks with Kate. She introduced the two of you and it was like you had known each other your whole lives.
It was on that same trip that Caitlin asked you out, of course asking Kate for permission first. You didn't hesitate to say yes and the rest has been history. Caitlin's love for you hit hard right from the start and never stopped growing - you were the person to come into her life and opened her eyes as to why it hasn't worked with anyone else. Caitlin knew you were her end game.
Once you were stationed just outside of Iowa City, you moved in with Kate. Life was the best it had been in a while. You would go to all of Kate and Calitlin's home games and support them to the best of your ability. It was cool to get to meet more of their team, and they all loved you. How could they not? Kate and your apartment had been the hub for a lot of the team hangouts. It was a no-brainer since you had the best setup. Caitlin also practically lived there, which was also a pull as she would encourage the team since it meant she got to spend more time with you.
Slowly but surely Caitlin started bringing stuff over and found a home for it within your room. You not once complained seeing as she didn't really have much but knew how serious it was when she brought over her PS5 and her most worn basketball shoes.
"Are you sure it is okay that I am bringing all this stuff over?" She asks.
"I promise you, babe. It is perfect." You say and give her a smile.
"I just don't want to overstep," she says and you take hold of her shoulders.
"Hey - you know I don't make promises I don't mean," you say. She nods sheepishly. "I promise, this is exactly where you are meant to be." You reassure her.
When you found out you would be going overseas you had a sit-down conversation with Caitlin to break the news to her. She doesn't hide her frustration well but knows how much you pride yourself in serving your country. You tell her that when you go, she has to move in with Kate - not wanting either of your favorite people to be alone. You crack jokes with Caitlin about how she practically already lives there in an attempt to lighten the mood.
This brings it back to Kate making grilled cheeses with you sitting on the counter holding Caitlin.
"They are ready!" Kate yells in excitement over the perfectly cooked sandwiches. You grab a plate and immediately take a bite.
"Ahhh! Hot! Hot!" You say as you try to blow off the piece you had just taken a bite out, refusing to spit it out.
"Babe, you do that every time - will you ever learn?" Your girl teases you she grabs her own plate, blowing it off before taking a small bite herself.
"Hey, sometimes waiting is overrated." You say and go in for another bite. "Plus, when something is this good, if you could you would eat it in one bite."
The rest of the night is filled with light banter, cuddles from your girl, and another attempt at packing (which was quickly shut down when Caitlin held you captive on your bed, not allowing you to move).
Time moved faster than anyone would have liked as your send-off arrived. Your family came out, along with Caitlin and some of her team. They were there more as a support to Caitlin and Kate than to see you off but you were incredibly thankful for them.
You give hugs to your mom and dad first - they knew this day was coming and had much time to prepare yet still let out muffled sobs and final last-ditch pleas to stay.
You give hugs to all the girls who came in support of your two favorites and tell each and every one of them to watch over both Kate and Caitlin while you are away.
Kate is next. The two of you stand there embracing each other, neither of you saying anything knowing everything already. It is only before you release your sister that she whispers something in your ear.
"I've got her," Kate says and for the first time yet you feel a tear roll down your cheek. You wipe it away as fast as it appears, not wanting to make this any harder for anyone.
You whisper a thank you and release her - looking at her with the best smile you could muster up.
Finally, you turn to the love of your life. And runs into your embrace faster than you can brace for impact.
"I want to tell you not to go," she says with a sniffle. "But I know how much this means to you."
"I will be back before you know it," you say - trying to believe your own words. The truth is, you don't know when you will be back - this is an open-ended assignment which wasn't common in the military but due to where you are going is needed for the mission.
"I will call whenever I can and I will write," you tell her. "It will be our own little movie."
"Just come back to me, okay?" She says as your heart breaks hearing the desperation in her voice.
You separate from her just enough to reach down and grab her hand. A few months ago you had gotten her a dainty little ring embellished with diamonds for your anniversary. It was by no means an engagement ring or promise ring but in this moment it would have to do.
"I promise I'll come back to you," you say removing the band from her right hand and placing it on her ring finger. Caitlin knows to not take your promise lightly. She knows you would do anything to get back to her.
Both of you know that there is never a guarantee but the little gesture was enough for both of you to have faith in your promise.
You say your final goodbyes and before you know it you are off.
The first few months are hard as it is an adjustment for everyone. You Facetime Caitlin and Kate as much as you can - thankful that the wifi connection you had was stable. You told her as much as you could about where you were at, making sure not to disclose anything that would scare either of your girls. Kate would update you on the usual - this not being too far off from what her transition to college was. Caitlin on the other hand took the transition really hard, always crying in Kate's arms after the call ended. None of which was disclosed to you.
The next few months were harder as you were moved to a secondary location where the wifi was less stable - sometimes cutting out for a few weeks or more at a time. You sent letters to let them know you were doing okay even if a call didn't come. Every letter you would end with 'Slowly making my way back to you' then your signature. Caitlin would grip every word you wrote, most of the time falling asleep with them in her hand.
You were almost up to your year mark with no update on when you would be able to return home. They had moved you back to a base that had better wifi which was helpful in keeping up with Caitlin but still not as good at giving her a date when you would be home.
Caitlin was doing better and was able to keep her composure after calls with you. Whenever you would have a call with your girl, Kate would jump on towards the end of the call and tell you how Caitlin was really doing. Most of the time it would end with your girl getting frustrated with your sister for disclosing more than what was needed but you always appreciated it.
It was when things started to feel normal when it all hit the fan.
Kate and Caitlin had just finished their shoot-around before one of their home games and were about to head into the locker to get ready when one of the assistant coaches told them they needed to head to Coach Bluder's office immediately.
The two girls redirected to head to the office thinking it had to do with tonight's game. The sight they are met with is one that causes immediate confusion.
"Mom? Dad?" Kate asked, shocked to see her parents standing in her coach's office. Your mom is a wreck in the arms of your dad who has clearly shed his own fair share of tears. Coach Bluder looks like she has seen a ghost and tells Kate and Caitlin to take a seat.
"What's going on?" Caitlin says immediately feeling her stomach drop thinking there is only one reason they would be here.
"Why don't you two sit," Coach Bluder presses again.
"No, I think I would rather stand," Caitlin retorts. She is trying to tell herself if she doesn't give in to what they are asking then the news won't be real. Kate touches Caitlin's arm, starting to come to her own conclusions, and takes a seat.
Your dad is the first and only to speak.
"We got a visit this morning," he starts only looking into Caitlin's eyes. He refuses to look into his daughter's eyes, knowing he will not get through what needs to be said.
"There was an attack to which they said there were no survivors." He says as slow as molasses.
Caitlin just stares at him. Not yet has he mentioned your name or anything about you specifically which only prolongs reality.
Kate asks if they had to send you there to help out, then proceeds to ask if you are hurt. She doesn't understand why Mom is so torn up over that.
Your dad's eyes are still trained on Caitlin's, not breaking to look at Kate when she asks.
"It was her base-" Your dad barely gets out before Caitlin is countering.
"Bullshit," Caitlin says, not blinking twice. She refuses to believe the words coming from your dad's mouth. Normally this would have taken him back but under the circumstances, he was ready for any and all reactions.
That is when your mom cut in.
"They found her tags," she sniffles out. Before she is sobbing again she says, "Alongside an unidentifiable body."
"They are still searching, but they told us not to be hopeful." Your dad finishes as Kate breaks down like her mother.
Calitin on the other hand is completely numb. Her head is spinning and she feels like she is going to throw up. Before anyone can speak again, she runs out of the room.
She runs directly home, entering your once-shared apartment. She makes her way to your shared room and just stands in the doorway. She hadn't changed a single thing since you left, not wanting you to come home to a completely different place. That thought flies out the window when the pain settles in and the reality of you not returning hits her like a ton of bricks.
Caitlin's hands go swinging. Throwing anything she could get her hands on. By the time she is done, she is out of breath - the room looks like a tornado hit.
She finally falls to the floor - letting out the loudest cry.
Picking up one of your old Military sweatshirts, she puts it over her head and holds herself.
You on the other hand are sitting in the most uncomfortable plane imaginable - giddy to get back to surprise your two favorite girls. Your Leutienet set up a charter for you and a select other few to fly back to the States. It was something that only he and one other person knew about, not wanting news to get out.
You knew it was going to take you a long time to get back but with the three plane switches and delays due to equipment transfers - your 2 day trip quickly doubled.
It wasn't until day 4 that you were finally crossing back into US territory. Once your plane entered US airspace, your excitement grew even more. You knew there wasn't going to be any communication to anyone prior to your arrival which made the surprise that much more fun for you.
When you finally arrived at the base - you were met with a crowd of people. Confused, you started asking what happened. One of the captains pulled your group aside and let you know there was an attack and that they didn't know if you were a part of it or not.
It was hard to hear but you were so over the moon about seeing your sister and your girlfriend that you didn't think of the possibility of them thinking that you were a part of the bombing.
When you got in your rental - you thought it would be better to surprise them in person than give them a call. You want to see the joy in their eyes when they first hear your voice back home.
You make the drive to your apartment and park along the street. You are still in uniform as you walk up the steps of your apartment. It is the middle of the morning and expect both girls to be back from practice.
Unlocking the door you walk in.
All the blinds are closed and there are tissues everywhere. Food boxes are left on the table and counter, and most of the food is uneaten. You furrow your eyebrows as you see a sleeping Caitlin in Kate's lap. She looks absolutely sickly with her head being stroked by Kate as Kate's eyes try to adjust to the new light source entering their apartment.
The light is so bright that it takes her a few moments to make out the figure standing in the light as you.
"This isn't real," you hear Kate mumble. "You're not real."
You slowly close the door and make your way over to your sister. You were expecting excitement and happy tears and love as you walked in but were met with none of that.
"She's gone," Kate cries. "You're gone. This isn't real." She keeps saying over and over.
It is then when it hits you that everyone thought you were a part of the bombing.
You slowly make your way to your sister as you kneel in front of her and your still-sleeping girlfriend. Little to your knowledge, this was the first time that Kate was able to get Caitlin to sleep for more than 10 minutes before she ended up screaming your name and jolting awake.
Kate is so defeated that her hand doesn't even come up to try and touch you to see if you are real. She is so convinced she is hallucinating.
It is only when your hand comes up and touches her face that she lets out a gasp and a sob. She cries out your name, waking Caitlin.
Caitlin blinks a few times while she sits up. Her hands come to rub her eyes, trying to get them to unblur from all the built-up tears that had fallen.
She smells you before she sees you. Feeling a sense of peace wash over her before more tears are falling. She still hasn't seen you kneeling right in front of her. Kate is sobbing into a pillow - in shock at who is before her.
Your hand comes up to Caitlin's and she jumps, removing it from yours. Tears begin to roll down your face as you can't imagine the living hell she has been through these last few days.
"Caitlin," you say in the gentlest tone. Her head whips up, eyes finally meeting yours.
At first, her eyes flash with rage. Not rage at you but rage at herself for initially believing you are there. They are then in shock - not comprehending the sight in front of her. Her heart stops as she says your name.
Your hands come to her face as you caress both of her cheeks.
"They said you were gone," Caitlin says in disbelief. tears streaming down her face as her hands come up to yours. "They found your tags." Caitlin really doesn't know what to say. She still doesn't believe you're in front of her until she hears you speak again.
"I promised I would come back to you, when have I ever broken a promise?" You say as you bring her in for a kiss.
AN: Welp here it is - let me know what you think! And as always, thank you for your love and support 🤍

Before this, they've only ever met up for basketball and other stuff XD and I quote Qiu Yuchen as he says, "Yeah technically, we've known each other for so long that I did indeed... watch him grow up." And through the filming of this show, Qiu Yuchen and Huang Hongxuan mentioned that it feels like they went from good friends to actual family, and they have 100% absolute trust for each other which made some of the more difficult scenes easier to grasp.

nct dream as boy/girl dads ... 👼🏻⭐️
mark who still maintains his insane working hours and practicing late into the night even when he has his two favorite girls waiting back home (and it makes him feel terrible). he comes home when it's way past your daughter's bedtime and you're always still waiting for him even when it's three am in the morning. when the day breaks his daughter thinks she's being very quiet but she's quite clumsy as she steps all over his legs while she climbs onto the bed to wake him up. he blows raspberries onto the baby's cheeks as he trudges into the kitchen, pressing a sweet kiss to your shoulder as a thank you for the pancakes.
renjun who simply cannot contain his excitement when his daughter's painting is selected for an award in the school art competition. he brags about her drawings all the time to his parents, his friends, the elderly woman who bags his groceries. he says she got it from him. it's quite right. he cheers the loudest when her name is called, even blinks some pesky tears away (something you make sure to make fun of when you're in the car later on) when his sweet girl comes up on stage to accept her certificate and take a picture, in the dress she picked out with his help because it's a very special day.
if you ever asked jeno what he kept in his bag then you would (or would not) be surprised at the endless amount of candy and sugary treats he pulls out of it that he keeps for both himself and your daughter. it's clear where she got her sweet tooth from. usagi transforms into sailor moon on the television screen, your daughter astrode on his lap, each of them holding a pink spoon and taking turns scooping bites of cookies 'n cream and macademia into their mouths. you collapse onto the sofa with an exaggerated sigh once you finish dishes duty, your head falling into the unoccupied crook of jeno's neck. your daughter swings a spoonful of ice cream towards your mouth, calling it a reward for working hard "because daddy always does it" and you accept with a giggle.
donghyuck drums his fingers on the steering wheel to the soundtrack of moana, occasionally peeking to the back to check on his sleeping girl tucked into the car seat. he keeps a hand nestled into her soft locks as he steers her towards where you said you'd be waiting at the department store, making a very important decision on whether you should get the white or sage green kitten heels for your cousin's wedding in jeju next month. your daughter then pops on a pair of oversized celine sunglasses, and it's too funny and adorable that the salesgirl was giving the three of you the stink eye for making such a ruckus in the store. he pays for it anyways, because he'll probably steal it for himself for when he has to be at the airport at early hours to leave for an overseas schedule or concert.
jaemin tries his best, really. he just can't help it when he sees luke sitting by his son as he draws on the coffee table. you can't expect him to bake the chocolate chip cookies, watch for stains on the oak from your son's oil pastels and feed all three cats at once. he doesn't know how you do it. luckily the cookies don't burn in the oven, he puts down parchment so the oak table is safe, and all cats are soothed by your son's magic touch and gentle pressing hand. when you notice a speck of oil pastel in their furs later on you only sigh and make a call to the salon to get them a bath, noticing their claws have been getting too long to the point they can mar your precious boys' skin.
you raise a hand to shield your eyes from the blaring sunlight, the piercing rays making chenle and your son look like mere sillhouettes as they zip around the court, the boinking sound of the basketball echoing in the park that's not too crowded for a friday morning. you can tell he's being much more gentle and a lot slower than he usually does for your son, fixing his stances and the grip of his fingers on the ball as he demonstrates a three pointer. your son joyfully claps everytime he shoots, and he ruffles his hair as a thank you. he calls out to you, demanding his congratulations kiss, but there is no way you're even going to come close to two very sweaty boys under the sweltering august heat.
your son actually prefers jisung to read him the bedtime stories he keeps in his shelf. he tucks him into the crook of his arm, whispering gently of the boy who discovers a treasure box in the forest and goes on an adventure with his pet hamster. his voice is too low to catch over the running of the sink as you remove your makeup, secretly wishing your son would fall asleep faster so that you can brush your teeth together. you watch from the doorway as he very carefully detaches himself from your son's side to slip the book back into its place on the bookshelf, tuck the sheets up to his chin, and place a gentle kiss to his forehead before he clicks the star shaped light off and his arm comes up to circle around your waist, pressing you against the wall to collect his kiss that tastes like peppermint toothpaste and your scent he can never get enough of.

FINALLY OVER L.HS
Pairing!: Lee heeseung!XF.reader! ( mention of sunghoon x F!reader also)
Word count!: 2.5K
Summary! : “You don’t understand! I don’t care if he yelled at you! He’s my friend, you can’t say that to him” he raised his voice at you as tears filled your eyes. “Hee… he said horrible things about me, I can’t let them happen don’t you understand!” You said tears slowly forming in your eyes. You didn’t know what hurted more, the feeling or your heart slowly breaking apart or the feeling of your boyfriends of 7 years picking his new friends over you. “You need to know your limits. I’m so done with dealing with you!” Heeseung said, making a loud noise with his chair and walking away. You heard the front door shut hard as you cried at the table. You would’ve never guessed he would’ve picked his friends over you.
“You don’t understand! I don’t care if he yelled at you! He’s my friend, you can’t say that to him!” He raised his voice at you as tears filled your eyes. “Hee... he said horrible things about me. I can’t let that happen, don’t you understand?” you said, tears slowly forming. You didn’t know what hurt more—the feeling of your heart slowly breaking or your boyfriend of seven years choosing his new friends over you.“You need to know your limits. I’m so done with dealing with you!” Heeseung said, slamming his chair back and storming off. You heard the front door shut hard as you cried at the table. You would’ve never guessed he’d pick his friends over you.
You met during the first year of middle school. An awkward stage for most teenagers… yet heeseung never had struggle to fit in and looked like he skipped that awkward teenage phase. He was the main player on the basketball team, and you were just a classmate who caught his interest. You didn’t really skip that stage, you looked nerdy with those thick frames and braces but somehow it was enough to catch his attention. At first, it was awkward. You’d stay silent when you were paired for work until he began praising everything you did. Slowly, you felt more comfortable and were able to open up. Heeseung fell in love with that part of you—the carefree side that did what she wanted without worrying about what others thought.
Gradually, you two went on dates, stayed over at each other’s houses, and started walking around hand-in-hand, always close to one another. But when college came, Heeseung chose to study in the States while you went overseas to Paris. Over time, the distance drove you apart. Mornings for him were nights for you. After a while, you no longer had the energy to stay up late waiting for his calls or wake up in the middle of the night to answer him. You’d call occasionally, but most of the time, it felt like you didn’t have a boyfriend at all.
Heeseung’s friends hated the situation. When they’d go to bars, he’d be stuck sitting alone at the table while his friends hit on every girl they could find. They’d encourage him to talk to a girl or dance with one, saying you wouldn’t know anyway. Heeseung always thought about it before rejecting the idea after a few minutes. During the months you were away, he grew quite close to his friends. They were there for him when he needed them, spending time with him whenever he felt bored or down. Eventually, they replaced you.
Those nights when you stayed up trying to call him, he wouldn’t answer, only texting back with something like, “Out with the boys, call back in an hour or two.” You were understandably upset, staying awake for your boyfriend while he gave zero effort in return. Eventually, you stopped trying so often to see if he would reach out to you—and he didn’t.
After a few weeks of this miserable pattern, spring break finally arrived, and you could go home to your friends—and maybe to Heeseung. You had texted him a week prior, telling him you’d be at the airport around 10 a.m., to which he replied with a simple "okay." So, you booked a cab home, but he hadn’t bothered to meet you or even check in with you.
The next day, you went out with your brother. You needed some new clothes, and he was the only one available to go with you. You both went to the mall, entering various stores until your brother needed to use the restroom. While waiting for him, you heard a familiar voice echoing through the mall. “Hee! I missed you so much! How are you?” you said, moving in for a hug, but Heeseung didn’t even try to hug you back. “Heeseung… is this why you held back on the girls at the clubs? Poor you,” his friend blurted out as you let go of him.
You stepped back, waiting for Heeseung to respond, but he remained quiet. “Seriously, Heeseung, you’re not going to say anything? These are the asshole friends you chose while I was gone? Wow, I’m really disappointed in your poor taste,” you said, waiting for a reply. “Talk to you later, Y/N,” Heeseung muttered, walking away without defending you. You looked back as his friends laughed at you and walked off. You had never felt so humiliated.
Your brother, Jay, came back from the restroom and, seeing your face, immediately decided it would be best to go home. Jay often teased you and found joy in annoying you, but when it came to others hurting you, even with the smallest joke, he wasn’t okay with it. He’d do anything to protect you. Without asking any questions, he drove you home in silence, making sure you weren’t too lost in your emotions.
Back at home, you received a message from Heeseung. “Hey, sorry about today…” dot dot dot, followed by another message. “Save it, Heeseung, I don’t want to hear it,” you replied. His typing stopped for a moment before he sent another message. “Let’s meet tomorrow to talk this out, please,” he said. You thought about it for a few minutes before replying with a thumbs up.
When the next day came, you really tried to keep your composure as you saw Heeseung sweetly talking to the barista while ordering your drinks. You walked in and sat down in front of him. “Hi…” Heeseung said, to which you replied with a simple nod.
“About yesterday… I won’t apologize to you because you insulted my friends too,” he said, playing with his straw.
“Are you fucking kidding me, Heeseung? Your friend implied that I was a lame girl for waiting around for you, and YOU didn’t even defend me. I had to stand up for myself. I don’t know how you became such a jerk, seriously.” You were tired of his lame excuses.
“You don’t understand! I don’t care if he yelled at you. He’s my friend, and you can’t talk to him like that,” Heeseung raised his voice at you as tears began to fill your eyes. It was the first time, in all the years you’d been together, that he’d ever raised his voice.
“Hee… he said horrible things about me, and I can’t just let that happen. Don’t you understand?” Tears were now falling freely from your eyes. You didn’t know what hurt more—the feeling of your heart slowly breaking or the realization that your boyfriend of seven years was choosing his new friends over you.
“You need to know your limits. I’m so done with this,” Heeseung said, making a loud noise as he pushed his chair back and stormed out. You heard the café door slam as you sat at the table, crying. You would’ve never guessed he would choose his friends over you.
That day, you went home with a heavy heart. You didn’t know how to act. In your mind, just having someone to call your own had been enough to make you happy, but now that part was taken away, and you felt empty inside. Like someone had punched through the thick skin in front of your heart and ripped half of it out. With what little energy you had left, you opened your phone, quickly blocked his number and social media accounts, and deleted everything that reminded you of him. It felt surreal—the boyfriend you had for as long as you could remember had replaced you so quickly. Even if you didn’t want to think this way, you realized that maybe he wasn’t the right one after all.
As the days passed, you slowly started to pull yourself back together. Whenever you felt sad or upset, you used that energy to better yourself. Somehow, losing him motivated you more than ever. Your flight back to Paris was the next day. Your luggage was already packed, along with a box of Heeseung’s things. You pulled out a small piece of paper and started writing:
-
For Heeseung,
Even though I never wished for this parting, maybe it’s for the best... There are nights when I still think about you, but you threw me away. I sometimes think about the days we had together—when we went to the beach, when you protected me, when we’d eat after school—and I laugh. Where did we go wrong? Was it because I left? I feel so foolish for loving you… I cared so much about you, and you were my everything. I loved you so much, and yet I still wasn’t enough to keep you. It’s kind of funny because you were always my first choice. I’d call you instead of sleeping, hoping you’d keep me around... but I guess life doesn’t go the way you want it to. I’m sorry. Now, I can finally let you go. It’s over, Heeseung. Please don’t contact me. Leave my things at the door—my mom will pick them up.
Thank you for those seven years. Clearly, we weren’t meant to be.
Y/N Y/LN
-
You slipped the letter into the box and sealed it shut.
The next morning, you woke up early and drove to his house. You felt like doing one last thing, so you dropped off the box and placed some chrysanthemums on top. You always liked flowers, and these particular ones symbolized goodbye—the end of a phase. You rang the doorbell and quickly got back into your car. A few tears escaped your eyes as you started the engine and drove away. You wondered what Heeseung thought, how he felt, and whether he was even impacted by your decision.
When you boarded the plane, you put on your headphones and dozed off, ignoring the possibility that this might be the last time you’d ever see him. Finally, you would be free.
The next day, your mom called you to say that Heeseung had dropped off a letter instead of your items. Confused, you told her to just leave it in your room, promising to read it when you came back.
Funny enough, you never did. You ended up staying in Paris for the next five years. You met a wonderful guy there named Sunghoon. His feelings were genuine, and he was truly the best person you had ever met. There’s a saying that you’ll never forget your first love, and unfortunately, it’s true. You still thought about Heeseung sometimes, wondering how he was doing. But Sunghoon had proposed to you, and now you were planning to return to Korea so he could meet your parents.
You felt a little nervous about being back—it had been so long, and everything felt unfamiliar. Thankfully, both Sunghoon and your parents got along well, and the wedding was planned for December, just before Sunghoon’s birthday. While you were back, you decided to look for houses and places to settle down. You found a small loft not far from your parents, cozy and perfect for you and Sunghoon.
One morning, you decided to buy some groceries with him. "Hey, babe, I’ll go grab some snacks, okay?” Sunghoon said as you nodded. You watched his figure disappear into the aisles and continued picking out fresh fruit. “Y/N…” you suddenly heard a familiar voice. You turned around to see Heeseung, standing there in shock.
“Heeseung…” you said, feeling a rush of emotions as he walked closer.
“It really is you! I missed you so much. I tried contacting you, even dropped off a letter! Did you read it? Do you still feel the same?” he said desperately, clinging to your cart. Right… the letter. You had forgotten all about it so long ago.
“Heeseung, I’m—” you started, but were cut off.
“There you are! I got your favorites. You’ll probably eat more now that you’re pregnant,” Sunghoon said, dropping some jellies into the cart.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there… Do you need any help?” Sunghoon asked politely, addressing Heeseung.
“No… You’re pregnant?” Heeseung asked, stepping back as the realization hit him.
“Sorry, do I know you?” you asked one last time before turning away, pulling Sunghoon with you. As you walked away, you turned back one last time to see Heeseung, frozen in place, watching as you left with Sunghoon's hand in yours.
You checked out the groceries and let Sunghoon know you’d be making a quick stop home before heading back to your loft. Your mom was confused but allowed you to run into your room. You rummaged through the drawers until you found a small letter addressed to you, similar to Heeseung’s handwriting.
-
My lovely Y/N,
I read your letter, and I’ve finally come to my senses. I am so sorry for the way I treated you and for letting my friends speak to you the way they did. I wish I would’ve kept closer contact with you. Every day without you felt like a curse, and instead of trying to fix it, I let my emotions consume me. I should’ve taken better care of you and never let you go.
I’ve spent so much time reflecting on our relationship, and I realize now how much you truly mean to me. You were my rock, my support, and I failed to appreciate you when I had the chance. I took for granted the love you gave so freely. I let my friends influence me, and I’m deeply ashamed for not standing up for you.
You are the one I’ve always wanted, the one I envisioned a future with. It hurts to know that I pushed you away when I should have fought for you. I understand if you think otherwise, but I genuinely believe we are meant for each other. I’ll wait for you right here, whenever you’re ready. I hope you’ll consider meeting me again in Korea. I want to show you how much I’ve changed and how dedicated I am to making things right between us.
Please remember the good times we shared—the laughter, the adventures, the love. Those moments mean everything to me, and I still believe they can be our future if you let me prove myself. I love you so much, and I’m truly sorry for hurting you.
I’ll be waiting, my dear Y/N.
Forever yours,
Lee Heeseung
-
Tears escaped your eyes as you read the letter. This bastard was too late. He should’ve protected you when you needed it the most, not after you had left. You dried your tears, placing one hand over your belly as you went back to Sunghoon. You kissed him on the lips, vowing to never think about Heeseung again. He didn’t deserve that part of you anymore. You finally had the life you dreamed of, and you wouldn’t let Heeseung take it away.
THE END.

Do you think stewie is going overseas this year?
No, since the baby is due in October and I feel like it’d be too difficult to care for a newborn AND a toddler in a foreign country away from their families. I will say, if Stewie does play overseas this year I’d expect it to be in Spain so they can be closer to Marta’s family. But I really don’t think she’ll play overseas this year or maybe ever again since the CBA says that players who report late to training camp in the 2024 season will be suspended.

I'm crawling out the sewers to re-introduce myself. Plus new blog yay!
König and Reader are relatively almost the same height SO I DONT WANNA HEAR NO CANON THAT READER IS 5 FOOT SOMETHING NO THEYRE LIKE 6'5 HELL PROBABLY EVEN TALLER-
Anyways, as you can tell I know nothing about the military nor COD, only what I've read and seen. Shoot me. Reader is intended to be gn overall but correct me in case.
pairing: könig x tall!reader
warning(s): uhhhh idk, kinda sucks? (I tried)
word count: 2.7k
* This work was created by @unconventional-user, no re-post(s), you may, however, re-blog. Thank you. *
'How tall are you?'
'Are you a basketball player?'
'Do you wear heels?'
'How's the weather up there?'
These questions were a constant occurrence whenever leave took place. It was a reminder how annoying and entitled people were at times.
Luckily, deployment had come quickly most times, so you wouldn't have to deal with them often.
It's not like there was anything to head back to when 'off duty' anyway.
Parents were several countries overseas as well as other family, friends, and folk. So being called back often wasn't a rare occurrence nor was it annoying...
After joining the Air Force, it was expected of your squadron to work alongside certain groups. You happened to be the lucky few that helped aid the Special Air Services pretty often. It was mainly with transports as well as to help fly troops on missions.
It was nice. Some of the best times honestly.
Britain was a really cool place too.
But the constant travelling back and fourth, US to UK kind of left this uncertainty of which place was your 'true' home.
Almost like an identity crisis sort of.
So after some thinking and request of separation, you moved countries alongside joining the British Army.
Many more years later you're a part of the Special Air Services.
You could say the years in the Air Force might've helped a bit by leaving such positive feedback to them when SAS asked about their new soldier.
Judging from their background, they described as if the "golden child" for helicopter pilots was amongst them:
A once in a lifetime.
A relic of some sorts.
A phenomen.
According to them, you knew how to maneuver the damn chopper 'as if you built it yourself'.
Thus becoming a well recognized name amongst the special forces more specifically.
You'd like to thank the impeccable flying skills for landing you on such a radar.
Still, most of your work went unnoticed the first couple of years in SAS til' they eventually caught someone's eye later on:
"That's some amazing skills there—hello, we haven't met. My name is Kate."
The communication analyst would keep in touch with you after that. She claimed a specific task force officer asked for your wings.
"You know how to maneuver a helicopter better than anyone I've seen in a while. And I'm not the only one who's seen you in action."
Years pass after that, you're still on par with transporting soldiers and the Task Force 141, means you must be doing something right…right?
Shaking off the commotion of thoughts, you drove till the view of a familiar, bordered gateway appeared.
Upon entry, it was time to head over to your station.
-
Some inspections and loadings later, a shout was heard from afar. Turning towards the culprit, it was none other than Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish.
"Long time no see, aye bonnie?"
Leaning against the rails of the helicopter, he gave a smile. In return you gave one back as you finished clearing the aircraft as: PASS.
"Good afternoon, Sergeant," you chuckled, "I believe I saw you yesterday."
Ignoring the matter-of-fact, he continued on, "Call me Soap. Remember, yer one of us."
Smiling awkwardly, you pretend to re-inspect one of the throttles once again.
To be 'considered' a part of task 141 was…a weird feat or way to put it overall. You were in their squadron as their pilot, but you weren't necessarily with them. You weren't a part of their briefings or any of that.
You were separate from them.
The only one who really 'considered' you as part was Sergeant MacTavish.
Not to say the others were assholes or something. Lieutenant Ghost often would brief a 'good job' or 'nice maneuvering' to you once in a while.
Sergeant Garrick and Captain Price also acknowledged you from time to time, always greeting when deemed necessary.
To put it into simple words…they like your flying skills. You're like a designated pilot for them sort of.
'Way to make it sound like you're just a chauffeur-'
Shaking the thoughts aside once more, you focused on what Johnny said.
"Come again, Sergeant?"
The man chuckled, shaking his head but repeated himself once more. He always found you cute yet attractive. A true bonnie. These small actions never ceased to add to his attraction towards you.
Plus, he liked them tall. He could only imagine you in heels now…
"Wait…so you guys are gonna team up with a whole 'nother group for the mission?" You asked.
Great. Now he had to shake his thoughts aside. Clearing his throat, Johnny nodded.
"Price got told he needed backup for this one. Apparently it's too risky to go alone."
"Sounds rough."
"Aye, Ghost ain't too fond of the idea either."
Didn't look like he was too happy about the situation as well.
Nodding, you understood the lieutenant's 'worry' about being aided by a private contractor unit. Another responsibility and potential liability overall.
Trying to look on the bright side of things, at least they'll be more careful.
"Well…better safe than sorry, right? Plus you guys won't be so bored on the ride there!" You internally cringed at your feeble attempt to cheer the man up.
Hey, at least it made him laugh though.
"Ye ready to deal wit' another crew of dafties 'en, bonnie?"
Laughing, you closed the door to the aircraft.
"I'll see you in a bit, las."
-
The briefing ends; said Austrian begins heading towards the designated lockers.
Kortac had been called back by the SAS, unsurprisingly. They’d worked alongside the particular military service before (more than a few times).
The report claimed a certain special ops unit would need some assistance on an important mission. The team was ordered to help aid as a “battering ram” of sorts, both pre and post mission.
Of course they knew just who to send alongside for additional aid to the team.
König rolled his eyes, slamming the locker in frustration. He really didn’t want to be here at all. In his eyes, he was assisting a potential enemy. The SAS wasn’t necessarily a foe to KorTac, but it’s not like they were allies either.
So case in point (to König), he was being forced to help the potential enemy.
There were other soldiers sent alongside König. One of them looked over at him, an eyebrow raised, “Alles gut?”
König looked over at the soldier and said nothing, hood completely concealing his annoyed face. He’d rather be anywhere else than here if he’s being honest.
Heading towards the helipad, where he’d meet the rest of his ‘team’ mates, König tripled checked his tactical gear on him before stepping onto the designated helicopter.
His eyes narrowed onto a familiar face—or rather a mask—he had met before. Ghost simply responded back to König’s hostile stare vice versa. Neither said anything, but sat on opposite sides of one another.
No mind was paid to the rest that got onto the helicopter, except for Sergeant MacTavish, who made his entrance known with a hearty laugh followed by an annoyed looking Sergeant Garrick.
After the rest got settled in, Captain Price stood center and went over some key details again, mainly about KorTac’s assistance on the mission. König felt someone’s eyes on him as a chill ran along his neck. He turned his head and saw the same soldier from earlier at the lockers move to sit next to him. Said soldier looked away nervously to avoid the blue eyes.
Komisch. König narrowed his eyes in confusion, but remained silent overall. He felt the soldier lean in, “Is this your first time working with them?” They then gestured their head towards Task force 141. König didn’t acknowledge them and remained quiet. Looking away, he ignored the huff of the—now annoyed— soldier.
“Ist mir doch...”
König ignored the subliminal guilt he felt by acting like he didn’t hear the soldier’s mutterings. Trying to distract himself, he re-checked his tactical gear.
Knife is attached to his side. His tourniquet was in place, perfectly positioned if needed. He had 2 extra stocks on his left thigh—
Thoughts were interrupted as 2 pairs of feet stepped onto the helicopter and the doors were closed. König looked up and he swore he heard himself swallow back a gulp. Thank whatever is up there that he had his hood concealing his face. König could feel his face becoming warm.
Completely ignoring the other pilot officer greeting the team, his eyes focused on you.
Who were you?
You seemed to be standing at almost—if not the same—height as König,
He absolutely loved that.
Eyes fell onto your hands, noticing the lack of a band surrounding it, which he also seemed to love.
He was unsure if he had a visceral reaction to your presence but it felt like when people saw color for the first time. He felt the need to hide his flustered face (even though the hood already does that for him).
Du siehst bezaubernd aus.
He thought, eyes not leaving your form.
As you and the other pilot head towards the cockpit, he couldn't help but ponder.
Was that what many consider ‘love at first sight'? Him? In love?
The idea seemed almost laughable, mainly because he didn't think he could ever imagine him even having the courage to even attempt to pursue someone. Let alone have someone finding him worth being with.
König (sadly) broke his stare by looking at the soldier who jabbed his shoulder. Bothered, he turned towards them with narrowed eyes.
Grinning, the soldier commented, "As they say in America; statuesque."
-
Stepping towards the helicopter, you could feel your mind calm down. You knew exactly what to do. Tis the moment. You're in the zone.
Ew. That’s literally so cheesy.
You thought as you covered your hand to hide the growing smile.
Your co-pilot turned over at you, “Everything ok?” he asked, confused.
Putting a hand down, you nodded, “Yep. Just…thinking of something.”
He gave you an odd look but didn't perpetuate any further, simply muttering under his breath, “...How’d I get stuck with the tall weirdo?”
You pretend not to hear that, letting out a sigh and stepping onto the helicopter.
The co-pilot flashed everyone a tight-lipped smile as eyes fell onto him first, “Proud to be working with everyone here.” But eyes quickly fell onto the person looming over him.
That person being you.
With a flashed smile and wave, you greeted them, “I’m going to be your eyes in the skies today.”
The assisting team nodded a ‘Yes Officer’ your way. Nodding to the group, you observed them until one of them caught your eye.
The moment your eyes landed on the gentleman in the hood suddenly time had stopped, not noticing when he looked back either. His eyes widened whilst looking like he had choked on the air or something.
He looked a little bit taller than you—only a little—which almost never happens.
He was also oddly cute (considering he had a full on sack over his head).
Suddenly self conscious about appearance, you straighten up and try to hide the blush apparent on your face. If it's obvious, nobody dares say anything.
It probably didn't help that he was staring back at you as well. Interlocked, neither breaking eye-contact till the soldier next to him nudged his shoulder.
Luckily, you were able to gather yourself and head into the cockpit. It seemed like the others had disappeared, leaving only you and him. But you surged on, unaware of eyes following your direction.
Finally out of sight, you were able to find your footing and headed towards the left.
Your co-pilot sat to your right.
Alright, it’s go time.
Snorting, you muttered, “...still so cheesy.”
“Huh?” the co-pilot turned.
“Nothing!”
-
It was finally over. The mission was done. You could feel the relief washing over as you were able to land on the helipad again.
No casualties (thankfully), except for 2 soldiers who were grazed by bullets. One of them being Ghost, who had apparently saved one of the other soldiers who were shot.
You still remembered upon landing to reach them on the field, Ghost was angrily dragging the other wounded soldier by the vest, holding his shoulder in the process.
One soldier yanked out a med kit as another snatched them away from the lieutenant.
The shouting could be heard from the cockpit as you flew away. You and your co-pilot ignored it and continued to flee the warzone.
As you were able to land, you slowly started feeling at ease.
Even though you’ve been flying for years, the adrenaline and anxiety was still the same every time.
The difficulty was always trying to shake the feeling of nerves off. A good cigarette always seems to ease them away. Speaking of which…
You reached into your lower back pocket; you cursed when you didn’t feel any familiar shaped boxed. Must’ve left the pack in your locker. Luckily, it wasn’t too far.
Headed towards said lockers, someone had walked next to you. Upon looking, no words were exchanged as you were side-to-side with the extremely tall soldier.
You expected him to say something. He didn’t. Simply continue to walk.
You decided to do so instead.
“Hello.”
The hooded man faced you this time with flat eyes. You stopped walking, so did he. Gulping down the nervousness, you took a good look at him.
He was taller than you, even if it was by a couple inches only. He was still taller than you.
“Sorry for bothering but…” chewing on your lip (which he definitely looked at), you confessed, “...I've never seen someone as tall—hell—taller than me. So I just wanted to introduce myself.”
You tell him your name, trying not to seem so upfront about it. He continues to look on for a while, in which you think maybe he didn’t want to talk to you at all.
“König.” is all he (manages to) says and continues to walk (although appearing dull looking towards you, he was internally sweating bullets as well).
“...Well König…I was wondering…if you would like to…maybe hangout, tonight. I'm actually going out to head for some drinks tonight and I thought…” you chuckled nervously while trying not to mumble, he however, cut you off.
“What?” König asked in what seemed an annoyed tone.
Not to him though, he just seemed weary about strangers, plus he didn't really know how to act around someone he seemed to have a crush on. He didn't even think he sounded rude about it.
Which was the problem.
You quickly explained to him, “Well…we don't have to. I swear I just wanted to offer maybe I thought you'd be interested-”
He cut you off again, “Why would I want to spend my time with you?”
Oh god König. If only he knew just how bad he was fucking this up.
Swallowing, you looked away from said man, “Um…nevermind I didn't mean to disturb you, please, forget I ever bothered you haha…” you slowly drifted off, trying to hide the wobble in your lip.
Forcing a smile you began to walk away from him.
König’s eyes widened as you began to walk away.
No. No. No. Nein. Nein-
Was tust du?! He thought as he saw your lips wobble.
Do something before they leave!
“Wait!” He blurted out. This time he didn't seem to care that the surrounding soldiers looked at him.
But when you turned around however, he felt his stomach flutter.
Oh shit now what-
He didn’t know what to say now. So he simply just walked up, grabbed both of your shoulders and explained how he’d love to go out for drinks.
Motivated, you just looked up at him, the genuine smile creeping back onto your face, “Really?”
König felt himself freeze, but nodded regardless:
“Ja.”
“Okay, great…Amazing!” Giving him the details, you headed towards the lockers, the–now–lovestruck smile on your face. König waved until he realized what he just did.
He agreed to go out for drinks. With you.
With you.
What was his issue then? Nothing was wrong with you.
But you wanna go out with him. Him.…now that's a different story.
He was freaking out–not that anyone could tell–König stood still in one spot, till the hand on his shoulder broke him out of it. It was the previous soldier from before:
“Gut?” they tried asking König again, who narrowed his eyes back at them.
“Ja.”
Can you tell this was rushed and kinda a little self indulgent? Yeah, now I feel kinda cringe. Also didn't mean to cut it off so suddenly, maybe to be continued? Maybe.

“Our coach reminds us every day, ‘You're one of 144,’” Mühl said. “That's not a lot of spots for the amount of talent and the amount of hardworking women that are in this league and not in this league at this moment. So just reminding myself every morning, when I wake up, that even though I don't get many minutes, it's still a huge blessing to be a part of this program, especially being a part of Seattle Storm.
“Everybody looks at not playing as something so horrible and so bad, but behind the scenes, I'm working my butt off,” Mühl said. “I'm learning so much, watching film all the time, learning from the best players in the world, amazing coaches. I'm not missing anything. I'm just enjoying the process. And this is my journey, and that's how it's supposed to be.”
“Her work ethic has always been there,” Loyd said. “When she came in, we never had to tell her much of, ‘Hey, you gotta do this. You gotta do this.’ She kind of already actually had that instilled in her. That’s who she is. … She works her ass off. She's one of the hardest workers on this team, and people may not see it, and obviously they want her to be on the court, but all the stuff that she's doing now is to preparing her to come back next season and be great.”
Mühl said it’s been fun swapping UConn stories with fellow former Husky Gabby Williams, who joined the Storm after the Olympic break.
“I think a lot about the W is just finding your fit and finding out where you can be, and it’s about patience,” Williams said. “I think she's gonna learn a lot from this year, and then she's gonna go overseas. I think she's gonna have a great season, and then come back even better.”
