my big fat greek wedding is the realest greek rep in mainstream american media, not because its completely accurate- a lot is rooted in lighthearted sort of self-stereotypes, and is overall pretty shallow if youre looking for legitimate emotionally resonate representation of any kind. BUT thats also EXACTLY what makes it vibe w so many greeks anyway because we hardly ever see those very specific little eccentricities even mentioned, letalone be made the focal point, so we kind of love making fun of it in a way thats like "oh my god thats JUST like my thio maki!!! and thats just like thia calliope!!! oh fuck that ones just like me"

all things considered i dont think greek representation is like the most important ever or anything, but its so rare to see greece acknowledged beyond ancient stuff or mythology, or maybe the occasional jab at eastern europe, that its just... fun to see yourself and your family a little bit on the tv. it doesnt really get into the super deep parts of the culture or anything like that but its fine bc its fun. i think most greek families (esp of diaspora) have bonded to this movie because theyre just like us for real. before this, i think the closest thing id seen to actual greek rep on tv was from an episode of the suite life on deck where it was mainly just an eastern europe stereotype 😭 abt being hairy and playing with pig guts as balloons and shit idk. i mean also true but in a way that comes off as more mean spirited lol. but even then i was excited just to see our flag on tv and remember pointing at it to my mom so i cant say it was the worst. but hey!

anyway i like my big fat greek wedding a lot, wanna see the 3rd sometime too but never got around to it. it just vibes and is fun. and again like i said before, greek rep wasnt the most important thing ever growing up (even if it is super cool to see and does make me very happy to have our culture acknowledged outside of ancients!) but it does make me understand why representation is important in a more general way and why it means so much to people. and i also understand that it can mean a whole lot more to people whove been historically treated way worse by media. like, lack of acknowledgement is one thing, but outright malicious stereotypes are another. i do get this with lgbt+ rep too but since i was lucky enough to be born in a time where its becoming the norm i also cant imagine how it must have seen so much worse and then live in a world where every cartoon has 2 girls kissing. its not perfect and often corporate but... also a good sign

sorry this post is super stream of consciousness so its probably all over the place but i think my general thoughts are that ppl who shit on a series for having any kind of representation they dislike (being "too progressive" or something) is not only an awful unsympathetic person but also like. on the flip side will never know the joy of seeing yourself like that. but i do realize it also comes with the tradeoff of not being seen to begin with so its not like its a net positive but... those ppl still wont know! they will not understand the true joys of "[country] mentioned!!!!" when the country is The United States Of America. the end

Reviewing The Improbable Meet-Cute series

Book one - The Exception to the Rule - One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine’s Day isn’t the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual tradition—with rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email “dates” are breaking, and they’re sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... Without question! 🥰 Soooo cute! Sweet little love story that had me smiling the whole way through! The first half is written in an email format spanning 10 years which I actually really liked. Only (I think) 24 chapters, 80+ pages long, but you really get to know the mcs and fall in love with their love story! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a short and sweet read for Valentine's day! Definitely my favorite in the series! Plus the mmc, Callum, is 🥴😘👌

Book two - Worst Wingman Ever - Holly is dealing with the impending death of her grandmother and still reeling from a bad breakup. One bright spot: a Valentine’s Day card on Holly’s windshield—even if it wasn’t meant for her. An amusing mistake soon turns into a lovely exchange of anonymous notes, little acts of kindness, and a growing affection between two strangers. What happens when one of them has to say goodbye?

⭐⭐⭐⭐... Also very cute and fun! Again getting a good look into the mcs lives to get to know them separately, but wasnt revolved around them together as much. In fact they only interacted face to face twice the whole time, I would've liked more interaction so they could feel more right for each other by the end. Good story non the less!

Book three - Rosie and the Dreamboat - Rosie Whittaker and her sister are up for some Galentine’s pampering at a day spa. Getting locked inside a flotation tank is so Rosie. Enter a firefighter hero determined to pry this luckless pearl out of her high-tech shell. All Rosie has to go on is a dreamy voice and a flirty sense of humor. Remain calm, Rosie. This could be what you’ve been waiting for. Is this the man she’s waited for her whole life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐... This one is a hit or miss, but I personally loved it! A lot of people said it was too unrealistic, like Rosie (who supposably has ptsd) being so calm in her situation, being perfectly fine afterwards and not sueing the spa. Those things didn't bother me as much because after all... it is improbable love stories. It had really good and funny banter between the mcs, although very cringy at times. Overall I really enjoyed this one too! And for me Leo is also 🥴🥰👌

Book four - Drop, Cover, and Hold On - This Valentine’s Day, Daisy Murray has her heart set on binge-watching rom-coms. Instead, an earthquake traps her inside a bakery with its impossibly rude and insufferably handsome owner and head baker. They already have a history: she’s always smiled, he’s always scowled. Where better to finally get to know each other than amid the disaster? Then again, they have no choice. Besides, it could have its sweet, undeniable, and unpredictable perks.

⭐... Really disappointing. Boring, skipped though paragraphs that just thoroughly described a pastry or fmc getting texts from family and friends. The mcs had no connection with each other or the reader. They had a weird dynamic and just blah dialogue. They really didn't show any interest in each other until the end when they suddenly really wanted to have s*x. It was just weird, boring, and had nothing romantic about it... and I can't believe I didn't leave half way through.

Book five - With Any Luck - Audrey Love is cursed to be the person before you find your soulmate, the girl you dump for your true love. So when her best friend disappears hours before his Valentine’s Day wedding, Audrey fears that she did the unthinkable and kissed him at last night’s bachelor party. With help from the best man, she retraces her steps to find the missing groom and, with any luck, a true love of her own.

⭐⭐... This one was eh. The story had potential but it wasn't executed very well. Reading two disappointing stories back to back... I basically forced myself to finish this one, telling myself maybe the ending will be good... It wasn't. One brief surprise s*x scene with moderate detail was the most exciting part of the whole story, but I didn't enjoy it anyway since I wasn't enjoying the story. Disappointing to say the least.

Book six - Royal Valentine - Did not read. Literally, I was so disappointed with the last two that I didn't even read the last book. Didn't want to waste my time if it wasn't going to be good.

The first one is definitely the best and the one I would most likely read again. The second and third are still good, the third being my favorite of the two. The last ones.... 😶‍🌫️

Also these are all written by different authors but two of them mentioned 90s Brendan Fraser to describe the guys... Which I found humorous but also kinda lazy writing ???

Kind of curious about the "disastrous rave" if you care to share

So this is the only pic we have of the night because it was such a shitshow. Taking the picture in front is my friend Odysseus. Im the one in the overalls, the boy with the sticks was a friend of a friend who was really nice but smelled really bad, and behind him in the pink tank top is my friend Dandy. We had this farm reserved for this EDM show that fell through at the last minute, and we wound up instead "renting" the building where the Terminus scenes of Walking Dead were filmed. We had no money (that wasnt for drugs) so the guy organizing got the owners agree to let us throw the party there if we "micro cleaned" because there was still dye stains where the trough was and there were cigarette butts all over the courtyard from the previous show. So we get there expecting to pick up trash and they want us to mop the halls (pictured above) and tried to get me to clean a dirty bathroom and I was like This Barbie Does Not Clean Bathrooms. So we finish cleaning and take our drugs (5 tabs acid, 2 tabs 25-i, 3 hits molly which i should have spaced out because it was the crash that started my bad trip). But anyway I go to a corner store to get some chewing gum so I don't crack a tooth and realize very quickly that I am in a neighborhood that may not be the safest place to throw a rave. Crackheads showed up, paid the $5 entrance fee, and congregated almost immediately after we opened up. The first DJ was one of the worst id ever heard, he literally kept adjusting the volume of this boring EDM track and was on for like 2 hours. Dandy, who is 5 feet tall and 80lbs, is running the entryway. It gets dark. I crash on the molly pretty hard and take more 25-i thinking the stimulant will rejuvenate me. So Im looking around the dark, and I know everybody is a mile beyond fucked up, and I start noticing congregations of gentlemen all wearing similar colors, not mixing with the other congregations of gentlemen wearing their own similar colors, and recognize on multiple people what i know was a gun tucked into a waistband under a t-shirt (having dated a gang member in high school, it is easy to spot when you know what to look for) so there was not only obvious gang activity but people were armed. A fight breaks out between a group of guys and my friend Odysseus and this kid literally takes a bottle to his nose exactly like that scene in "Pans Labyrinth". Crushed it fucking flat, gushing blood, I spirit him away to under the DJ booth (smelly kid was spinning and his set was actually one of the few good ones of the night) but im terrified that the place is about to erupt in gunfire because wed listened to Eminem's "One Shot Two Shot" on the ride up and I couldnt get it to stop looping in my head and i took it as a warning and hid inside a subwoofer with B (Odysseus popped another molly and re-joined the party) and made him call a friend to pick him up. We show up unannounced without the car at his parents house with our faces full of face paint high as kites and ride it out in his room (this was the third time his parents met me). His dad refuses to talk to him, on fathers day, because we abandoned the car (even though B said wed both been drinking and the location was unsafe). I left a very... unflattering voicemail on the organizer's phone and we headed back to town. Odysseus' wife was my boss at the time and gave me a week off after hearing what a traumatic nightmare it was. Never went to a festival/rave without professional security again. Second-worst EDM experience of my life.

Barely any episodes were worth the watch. The bad episodes were terrible.

I'm in actual tears because this is character assassination.

I love the Doctor. I love them so much. I want to immerse myself in this canon as much as I can. I can't wait to go back to Classic Who since it was so charming and I just *love* the Doctor.

But what Moffat did to 11 and what he could've been, was atrocious. When Matt said goodbye, I started bawling. Because he never actually got to be a *good* Doctor.

And Clara was just there. Like he barely acknowledged her. 11 just mugged to camera for his speech before giving his "mother in law" bedroom eyes.

Clara meant nothing to him at the moment...that's tragic. Honestly.

And the theme from Rings of Ahketen (whatever) played like it was some grand moment. But it wasnt...

When 10 regenerated and Vale Decem plays with the motif that has existed since the beginning of RTD Era, it hits HARD.

While the rendition of The Long Song plays in 11s regeneration, it's beautiful but it's also hollow.

What did 11 do to deserve that song? That departure?

And apparently he wasn't over Amy, could've fooled me because he never mentioned her to Clara or anybody.

Day of the Doctor. It was SO MUCH WORSE than I thought it would be.

DAY OF THE DOCTOR. I could just post links of better breakdowns than i could give because I'll just reiterate how tired I am.

Worst:

Time of the Doctor. Yeah. Not just because it was bad and had some of the STUPIDEST plot points and asspulls, but because it was the death of 11 and all possibility of him being a good Doctor. 11 had potential. MATT had potential. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE FUCKING CHARACTERS HAD POTENTIAL.

OUT OF 11S ERA

Best: Vincent and The Doctor.

Nothing tops it. It wasn't written by Moffat and it will be the best out of his run. It is an emotional and beautiful episode and has some of the best Amy characterization. The ending (not just the 'scene' everyone knows, is what gets me) When 11 is holding onto Amy for dear life and talking about the "good days and bad days"; it feels so genuine. Amazing episode. Not the best out of Nuwho, but the best of 11s era.

Worst: The Wedding of River Song

Nope. Not even Day of The Doctor tops how AWFUL this one is. Awkward writing, TERRIBLE romance plot line, STUPID STAKES and just River. Just River. I cannot stand what she is and represents and her stupid writing and everything about her UGHHHH I TRIED to like her. I TRIED. I know I'm bias but when you have the FUCKING MASTERCLASS that is The Doctor and Rose and you downgrade to THIS?!? I can't! I just can't take it seriously!

RTD FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, FUCK THIS PLOT LINE UP. Moffat will make you sleep on the couch, BUT FUCKING DO IT.

Destroy the essence of this STUPID PLOT LINE. OBLITERATE IT.

I'm tired. I'm tired from crying and screaming and just being so passionate about a STUPID BRITISH SCI-FI SHOW. That I used to adore and cherish, and got to watch a showrunner who obviously hates what he's writing for fuck EVERYTHING UP. Even the things that he did right in RTD Era (like the Angels), he fucked up.

I despise Steven Moffat as a person and a writer.

12 is next. And I'm so scared. My partner and I are taking a break from the show for a bit. But dont worry, ill be back and im still going through the rewatch. (Long Game notes/review sometime this week, promise!)

I want to love Peter. I want to love the Doctor again. Please let me love something, Moffat. Please. I don't like hating this show.

That was pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but it was enough and cute and a fun time lol. Okay Flash spoilers here we go...

So first things first the speed family. The show has been building to this moment. It was a cute moment and I liked it. I've said this before but I like Nora and Bart. Plus Barry got his moment later with Godspeed and RF so like I don't really understand why people are so mad about it? I read a few comments about how everyone getting speed boosts was bad but it wasnt the final moment. It didn't take away from Barry. And it highlighted multiple versions of hero speedsters. The only one really missing was Wally. I'm bitter about Wally, but I know thats not the shows fault lol.

I kinda liked how they ended the forces thing. It was a bad plot all around but using it to justify Iris being able to anchor the SF and get RF out of the negative SF was fine. I'm glad she got a moment but I wish we got to see more of her reporter thing. My favorite solo Iris plots have been her blog from the early seasons and her starting up the citizen. I just wish they let her exist in that mode, but thats more a criticism of the show as a whole and not this episode.

Caitlin and Frost being separate is better than I thought it would be. I wish the Cisco and Frost vs. the Clones thing was more actiony but it was fine and I like that they had that moment. Their friendship is so underrated. People Always talk about original team flash and Barry and Cait and Barry and Cisco. But Cait/Frost and Cisco have such a deep history I'm glad they had some time together. I hope Frost's LI Mark? or whatever his name was makes another appearance the relationship seemed kinda fun lol.

Of course Kristen Kramer is a meta... I'm still not a fan. Her plot can be reduced literally to I saw a bad meta so I became anti-meta and now that I am meta I'm no longer anti meta. The writers did not want this plot they wanted it gone and they ended up worse off than if they didnt do a policing plot because frankly this one has left multiple bad messages. Also I know a lot of people thought Frost was a bad choice because shes white and guilty but like in real life the guilty are used to set precedent which is then applied to the innocent. They should have gone that direction with the whole thing. They even had Kramer say she wanted to set a precedent, if they had stuck with this it would have hands down been a better plot IMO. It was clear from the start the plot was a result of rewrites and growing criticisms of how the police are portrayed in media. But frankly even straight up cop shows have handled it better than this did. But anyway moving on.

There was a moment when little Nora said something about how Barry didn't know what Hart capable of. And it struck me that neither do we. He was a big fight this season and all we knew about him was stuff we were told, and most of it came from Bart in the last episodes. All the Godspeeds we had before were clones, so we never really got to see Hart. Plus since RF fight wasn't a big battle, to quote the show "that's future us's problem" The Godspeed fight was the big fight this season, and it was really well done. I wish we got more build up for him, so the payoff would have been more earned.

Allegra and Chester are still a little irrelevant. But I'm glad they are getting more screen time. I think they should have stopped the Allegra plot with Esperanza leaving and saved her death for next season, or done it earlier in the season. Frankly it was crammed into an already full last few episodes and didn't leave the impact it could have. She deserved to grieve and have her entire Flash family support her and help her through it. Although I did think her and Chester had some cute moments. I don't ship them yet, but I am glad they got the screen time. Plus Flash newbies supporting each other is cute.

The vow renewal was fine. It was a bit quick lol but I guess since they never had a wedding with their family after the Nazi attack they deserved it. It was cute. WA is cute. Like they are a good couple anything with them being cute is good IMO lol.

Overall, the first half of this season was in my opinion the worst of the Flash and probably the worst of the Arrowverse. I know thats very arguable but it's how I'm feeling lol. The second half was significantly better and I'm glad we ended on a better note than we started.

I finally watched Descendants 3 and here’s my thoughts no one asked for.

Emotions! Happy, laughter, sadness, heartfelt. Nothing groundbreaking but a great story of friends and family - the whole series for that matter. Not about where you came from but who you chose to be, whom you choose to love

I still wasnt ready to see Cameron. I cried.

Hades? Best worst dad 10/10. I knew that was gonna be the reveal but I was pleasantly surprised with how nicely they did it. They could have made him cliché 2D evil but they didnt! I didn’t expect to love his character

I love the subtle cues between him and Mal - not just in personality, but the choreography in Do What You Gotta Do, and their costume design! To me it shows that, all along, Mal has been nothing like her mom. Someone else pointed out that Mal’s hair and outfit colors shift to have blue reflecting her becoming more “Hades” which just solidifies this to me

She wanted Maleficent's approval, but Hades’ attention/care (yeah you’re the god of hell but couldn’t you wish me a happy birthday like... once?)

“My attention would have made you softer.” He would have been a doting dad and (as someone else mentioned) he knew that wouldn’t fly on the Isle. She would have gotten eaten alive. He was doing what he thought was best for her.

Hades’ “suffering husband” attitude was hilarious. [Overall I just like the facets they gave his personality!]

Dramatic goth bitch. Don’t roll your eyes, Mal, cause this is clearly where you get it from.

Hades suppressed shock (and dare I say pride) seeing Mal turn into a dragon at the beginning

Oh the “Hi, dad” and little snarky hand wiggle when they reunite. Cheyenne’s portrayal of Hades was great

Hades? Married? To Maleficent? The lore connotations are really funny. Clearly they all have a second parent but Mal happens to be the offspring of the two most powerful beings. (I mean, no shame, Maleficent. You go girl. Marry a god) and also him tolerating her long enough to have a kid

Please tell me Hades is really the one who gave Mal the name Bertha

On that note Ben (and their friends!) takes the knowledge that his fiancée is a demigod extremely chill. Like can you imagine your inlaws are an unfathomably powerful fairy and the fucking Greek god of hell?

Hades! Dad! Just that. That’s it. Wants to make up for the 16 years.  (I wish we saw his reaction to his wife (ex?) being a lizard)

Is there marriage on the Isle?? Officiant??? Who’s moonlighting as an evil wedding planner?! Is there a fantasy disney villain divorce attorney or is Hades just hiding from his wife because he can’t do anything else

Hades noped off underground into a lair no one can find solely to avoid Maleficent, you can’t change my mind

Hades’ staredown of Ben. Protective dad 101 but he can and will kill you and ensure your afterlife sucks if you hurt her

The entire ending was great, esp with all the Hades-Mal reconciliation.

Mal revealing her lineage not just to her friends, but to the world, is fantastic character development. She’s not just telling the whole truth at last (as we saw her struggle with through the whole series) but she’s laying her biggest secret to the world. Completely vulnerable. Her people deserve to know, and it solidifies her point of “you never know where a hero will come from.” Because the product of the two strongest villains became the greatest of all of them. 

Also this finally shows the whole “real” Mal and, as Carlos said, “if [they] don’t love the real you...”

The subtle gestures with Uma? Iconic. Some of my favorite acts of affection are the little private things. The hugs, the way he holds her when they reunite, the little touches on her arm/shoulder/back. I saw you go to kiss her on the head, Harry. The editors can’t stop me

I haven’t talked about Audrey but she was meh in comparison to all the rest of this stuff. Not a bad character or villain plot, just... there

OST was a hit or miss for me, I didn’t like as many of the songs in D3 as the other two. DWYGD slaps tho. I love the banter

- rhys popping up during the wedding scene was *chef’s kiss* and i noticed that he didn’t “claim” her as he said he would for like three months after everything. i suspect he was being a good person and literally letting her live her life. also for loving someone, tamlin was super chill and just kind of let her go??? idk i thought there would be more of a fight??? when feyre was literally like why are your claws retracting man?? fight for me??? hello??? but then again rhys is definitely more powerful than tamlin and probs some unspoken laws and such between high lords i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ anyways tamlin aint shit

- page 296-298! fucken shook me to my core. that self awareness, that confrontation, she identified the core of everything and it was such a turning point and im just so proud of her!!! She's recognizing her traumas and is healing!!!!!!!!!!

- yeah i immediately ship cassian and nesta; i hope she fucks shit up in the next book  😀 😀 😀 😀

- rhys is such a strong leader and im just -- baby deserves all the love. He's really good at plotting. He really made feyre learn all these things so they can nurture their love but also be a strategic advantage its interesting that even tho theres love there he still treats her like a weapon

- the joy in his rhys eyes when they winnowed into his regular ass town house that feels super lived in. and his friends banging on the door like he isn’t the feared night court high lord that he is. that was so refreshing to see that hes a regular person and not that high lord man who lives in a near empty mansion. he puts on a mask for everyone but he himself is just a regular fae.  

- reading about the peace that velaris was able to live through was beautiful. i imagined a city like san francisco with the hills and views of the ocean but kind of like the peace found in super small towns or cities in asia; maybe even some european cities (which is prob where this location is inspired by but i haven’t visited many euro cities). the scenes of ppl dining out, making art and music and just chilling is so lovely esp given our current pandemic. art is so treasured there and im like thats the epitome of a great society isn’t it? being able to do things because you just can without the pain of financial insecurity, civil unrest, etc. i definitely would love and die and for a society like that. its just so wonderful. i was filled w happiness while reading those scenes. :)

- rhys and his inner circle taking feyre out into the town and just being casual. nobody treats them like theyre royalty or anything special. theyre just a regular group of friends who enjoy hanging out. its super nice and nostalgia inducing esp during this pandemic when friends are so far away and not like it used to be.

- when rhys immediately saw how under weight and dead freye looked when she was in spring court -- AND IT WAS THE FIRST THING HE SAID TO HER WHEN HE SAW HER THROUGH THE DOOR WHILE TAMLIN DIDNT FUCKEN NOTICE

- i also take back my frustrations in book 1 when freye always wondering around the grounds in spring court esp during calanmai. i thought it was because the author needed to move the story forward but its just freye. she doesnt sit still and now that shes w rhys, we are seeing soooooo many things about prythian and thats beautiful. tamlin was truly a hinderance huh

- rhys sent her music when she was in the cell in Under The Mountain which was found in velaris. maybe he wasnt risking a lot but he just showed her a glimpse of the forbidden world right under aramantha’s nose holy shit he saved her from destruction!

- rhys is literally opposite of tamlin is soooo many ways. RHYS DID THINGS OUT OF LOVE, WHILE TAMLIN DID THINGS FOR LOVE. everything from how rhys made sure feyre can grow into who she is meant to be, to how he introduces her to his friends and how he interacts w everyone in his court, how he handles pain, everything is so different than tamlin. tamlin feels pain and just bulldoze over things, doesn’t think about how his actions are hurting others even as he is hurting. he doesn’t talk, he doesn’t share, he doesn’t try to get himself or feyre out of this misery and just sees threats everywhere and hits them. he was also supper passive honestly. no doubt hes riddled w guilt and grief but can’t figure out how to handle it so he uses feyre as his crutch where if he can “save” her he will be free smh

- LUCIEN AND ELAINE HOLY FUCK WHAT A LEFT FIELDER i hope this is the push that will propel lucien to defy tamlin. going back to the contrast between how tamlin vs his court and rhys vs his court, rhys has a group of unwavering loyal friends and are treated equally esp letting them joke around so much and it feels like a casual group of friends hanging out. tamlin has just as much loyalty from lucien but theres still a power structure that tamlin maintains. luciens words doesn’t have much weight whereas rhys’s friends do. both tamlin and rhys have so much power and sway and similarity in traumas and tragedy but both execute things completely differently. tamlin only wants to upload what he is familiar with, maybe what he thinks his father wants whereas rhys actively tries to think of something better, to change the system regardless of how hard it is.

I read all 600 damn pages in like 2.5 days and I was loving it the entire time! My heart sored when feyre and Rhys were getting close and starting to break down their walls and really connect. This was a truly good enemies to lovers, slow burn tale and the drama is so great. There were good stakes that changes a character and their behavior and a good balance of action and excitement but at the same time so many little moments that let u see the character and how they interact w each other and the world. a lot of big plot moments, slice of life moments, a bit of romance and comedy. overall, an amazing book but super long. thus far this is my favorite book and im hoping the rest of the books can be just as charming and lovely but not too heart breaking. i hope rhys and feyre makes it. i cannot predict what to expect in the other books in the series (isn’t there gonna be 8 books total???)

me overthinking certain falsettos songs

this had better come to a stop 

okay this is my favorite song from falsettos, so i have a lot of thoughts about it. first off, imma talk about the actual scene in the revival. in the beginning when whizzer’s watch goes off, the lighting on only on whizzer, and doesnt shine on anyone even when they join him saying “late for dinner”, which sort of shows off how whizzer is the outsider during the first act, due to being distant with everyone, including marvin. its the first song we sort of see trina and whizzer agree and not avoid each other because they both understand how much of a dick marvin is. and the part where trina pushes marvin back and then throws him to whizzer is one of the best parts because its sort of like how instantly once trina wasnt with marvin, whizzer was having to deal with him and all of that. also when marvin ask whizzer “isnt this wonderful” it always makes me so sad because of how whizzer tries to answer that is it wonderful to him, but marvin doesnt let him talk. that shows that whizzer is actually somewhat happy with marvin, which makes the ending of the chess game a lot more sad. whizzer seems to really want to love marvin and for marvin to love him (as seen in making a home with his “could he love me”), though this seems to be the song where he realizes how toxic marvin actually is, and how toxic the relationship is, which is why i think he seems confused in the middle of the song because he truly wants a good relationship with marvin and doesnt know whether he can get that, or hes wondering how he actually feels about marvin and whether or not he’s worth putting up with.

tight knit family (reprise)

first off, this is so under appreciated. but okay the actual scene is amazing. its where marvin starts to learn that he’s not completely in charge of everything, and how he cant keep depending on his ex to give him love. at the beginning of the musical, marvin didnt seem to fully hate mendel, maybe disliked him a bit, but overall seemed okay with mendel. we see their relationship somewhat change in please come to our house/jason’s therapy, where he wonders why mendel is always there, though overall doesnt seem to hate mendel. but tight knit family reprise is where marvin truly seems to hate mendel because he feels like mendel is taking away marvin’s family, despite trina being happier with mendel already and mendel being a better father figure to jason. marvin expects everything to stay the same and for everyone to stay with him, and is angry when his ex goes on with her life and doesnt keep moping around. he sees trina getting with mendel is her way of tearing up the family, which is exactly what he did, and not at all what trina is doing. mendel is aware of how marvin feels and how marvin thinks due to being his therapist for years, so he knows marvin hates him, though contines to side with trina, which trina needs because shes somehow who needs validation and support, and mendel doesnt want to desert her, and he knows marvins side is probably the worst side to be on. he wanted to be there for jason and trina, and give them love, unlike how marvin did.

okay this one may not be as long as the rest of the paragraphs but this is one of my favorite songs, it kinda ties with this had better come to a stop for being my favorite song. but okay good for trina for actually inviting her ex to her wedding despite all of the stuff he did to her. it shows that trina cant help but still care about marvin (which we see more of in act two), and doesnt want to completely desert him, which jason may have a big part of that. she doesnt want to break up the family any more for jason’s sake since he is like ten. this is also the song where marvin truly sees that nothing will stay the same and that people will move on. he immediately regrets slapping trina and starts apologizing heavily which shows that marvin still cares for trin despite his actions, and it shows how he doesnt quite seem to be in control of his emotions or his actions. it also makes me believe that marvin has hit trina before due to when he started apologizing, he says “you know that i didnt-” before being cut off and start to huddle by himself while putting his hands together and then putting his hands out in almost surrender, and how quick trina was to recover and face marvin again. 

canceling the bar mitzvah

okay another under appreciated one. but jason wants whizzer to be at the bar mitzvah, and either is unaware of whizzer dying, or in denial. mendel and trina seem to be in denial, whether for jason’s sake or their own, or both possibly. its the first time in the musical that jason feels like hes in control of something. he has watched his family fall apart for the past two or three years, and since hes just a kid, hes just been on the sideline and having to watch it without being able to do anything. he finally gets a say in something, though is conflicted and not used to being in control so wonders why trina and mendel arent making his decision for him as well, and almost seems scared of the decisions because he doesnt want to make anyone unhappy or make the wrong decision. after he storms off, trina and mendel are worried of how to tell jason, both wanting to protect jason from the world, but also aware that jason is going to figure out whizzer is going to die and will a rude awakening to the actual world. jason has been through a lot already, but they knew whizzer’s death would probably be the breaking point for jason. they want to shield jason from all of that, though know they wont be able to, which causes them to try and lie to themselves to make it more believable for them.

you gotta die sometime

whizzer makes me so sad in this song because it starts as almost a plea for help but then goes into acceptance before really scared. in the beginning, whizzer’s saying that hes a man in his prime, and how he doesnt know why this got to him instead of someone else. he thinks of himself as an overall healthy man, so he believed that this couldnt happen to him. sort of in the middle of the song, he realizes that no matter what, he was going to die, and there was nothing he could do, and he starts to accept it, and saying how it was going to happen anyway. he starts saying stuff to make himself believe that its he’s choice to die, by saying stuff like “i quit” and how he had it coming to him because of karma. possible karma from him breaking up a family. he wants to cry, and beg but he knows that wont help, and it would be better overall for everyone if he accepted it now. while he’s repeating “sometime” at the end, he starts to separate the word into “some time”, which is him still being scared of death, and wanting some more time left to live, though he doesnt get due to dying two songs later.

Charmed 02x08 Review SPOILERS!!!!

Sorry this took so long y'all. Family stuff just blew up in my face this month has been just terrible it's been terrible since the end of november to be honest, so I just wasnt in the mood to review. But I shall starts. In general i liked the episode 8/10 for me. I like the pacing, the general plot advancing. I liked it, but I have some complaints though. So let's just get those out of the way. So I'll do pros and cons by subject since there were things I both disliked and liked about each thing.

1. Hacy

Let's just get this big guy out of the way. So abby and Harry kiss was a big no for me, although it was hot for sure.

Now there has been a lot of back and forth about this so I actually wanted to compare to the things that bugged me about Macyx galvin and where I thought one does better than the other.

Communication

So like Harry and Macy do not communicate well with each other right now. I feel that thier communication issues though are better (or at least make more sense to me) than Macy x Galvin.

Macy while communicating with Galvin, as far as arranging things, was bad, but with her kiss on halloween she did make her interest in Galvin known. They both had an understanding that they were interested. So I thought the whole Summer ordeal was worse in that sense because, while the follow through was poorly done, Macy's interest was stated.

With Harry and Macy, it appears that neither of them have stated any interest to one another (neither has told the other thier feelings) and neither is aware. So harry kissing some one else isnt as bad to me as the Galvin x Summer situation because of that (speaking about this area soley).

The passive aggressiveness of Harry and Galvin in certain situation isnt comparable because Harry is doing it more.I felt Harry's reactions are more justified (we will get to the hypocritical portion later) in that he is going through the wringer, is hurting and confused, and self-deprecating and many of us agreed that the thought of Macy preferring Jimmy would be bad and hurtful to Harry and logically make no sense. But harry has more scenes than Galvin did in season one so he feel more passive aggressive than Galvin, but I attribute that to screen time and proximity to the Macy (he always there so more time and chances to interact). But also, for me, Galvin wasnt as passive agressive and his sometimes aggressive or snideness wasnt because of Macy. Outside stuff (problems with summer) would make him snap or his trauma also caused him to snap so the situations are comparable there but, again Harry has more screen time so his snapping feels worse to me because it happens multiple time in one episode versus one or twice in a whole season. Since the situation ( and right now I am speaking soley on the summer x Galvin situation) was different. I am up in the air I as to which was "worse" i think both situations are sucky and i think i am more bothered by Galvin x Summer because again Macy had actually expressed her interest (communication wise) but the hacy situation feels more full of that passive aggressiveness and that will turn it into something I really cant get behind. Right now I feel Harry is in a bad place and probably shouldnt be with anyone until he get himself settled personally.

Love triangle/square or whatever

So like with summer x Galvin it wasnt really a love triangle I mean kind of but not really. Galvin didnt pursue Macy while with summer and was generally nice during that time. Summer wasnt necessarily the jealous girlfriend stereotype she was nice, but did call out suspect behavior.

The abby xharryx Macy x jimmy thing is like aweful. It is the love triangle that I hate most at least where the abbyxharryxmacy part is concerned.

I mentioned it before but I hate when one or two people use another person as a means of getting release/relief when they are actually interested in someone else. I think it is cruel to both the used character and the main LI. Worse when both are using others because twice the cruelty. IDK what was going on in Harry's head. But I have never like that type of love triangle, and worse so because it is possibly the other type of triangle I hate which is (usually guy) caught between two ladies and one is clearly the villian (I thank novelas for this gem *sarcasm*) and it is mostly a lust thing.

Especially given that James Westwell was a serial cheater, apparently, this idea of "I love one person but am in lust with the other despite thier character" is like the worst to me. Abby is straight up an ambitious murder, and like I guess that maybe Harry's default type because Charity had similar qualities, but again for a guy who supposedly has strong feelings for Macy and was so confused and hurt by her attraction to Jimmy (which apparently wasnt attraction at all) the ease of him doing the very thing he was mad about , and the ease of being able to push aside his feeling for Macy and give in to that abby kiss was gross.

Sorry but although they werent together, for me, guys who can do that easily should be on our cheater radar. Knowing that James was a serial cheater just makes it worse imo.

While the summer x Galvin situation felt worse on the communication front (expressed feelings) it was better done than here because there is a lot more grossness in the dynamics of the love shape thing right now.

Overall, I get Harry isnt in a place to be with anyone and it's all confusing and he is lashing out. He has not told Macy his interest and neither has she so he shouldnt be held to the boyfriend standards. But still the writers are toeing the line here. What happens next will actually help me define whether this turns into a Galvin situation where I end up not liking the two characters together. If Harry tries to continue the passive aggressiveness about Macy and Jimmy. I'll be done. I mean if he does have feelings for abby and trying to move on, but still tries to pull that with Macy it will just be straight up manipulative. Right now I am like okay he was lashing out and I get it and the abby kiss is probably a big mistake. He can continue the mistake path if the writers wasnt to go there, but if he doesnt recognize that he did something hypocritical and still comes for Macy about Jimmy it will be very very wrong.

I think they for sure need to clear the air but if the writers wait to long or do too much damage I wont be satisfied with the clearing of the air.

I am not necessarily mad right now over the abbyx Harry thing because I am waiting to see how they will handle and present it, but I mean it is on that line and writers need to watch out. I dont think Harry was trying to be manipulative and the lashing out happened before abby kiss. As long as the lashing out (at Macy) doesnt continue I will watch and support the development and exploration of thier relationship and dynamic with the others.

2. Maggie

So like Maggie shows her naivety here and I am not that mad. Like she isn't pulling a "I am so in love and blind to the world" thing she makes her decision based on what she thinks will do the most good for the most people. It is still naive, but she is still maturing and you can see that. Her wanting her sisters to trust her judgment and not feel like they have to baby her is reasonable although again those insecurities clouded the main issues here. She is growing and I shall see how she continues to mature.

3. Mel

I think they tried to fit some personal development for mel here and it both worked and didnt work. I thought it wasnt done badly but at some points I was like....okay could this have been saved for another episode or done beforehand. I wanted to see it, just didn't think it felt in place, especially after leaving the wedding. She just had some development and then was like welp guess I am gonna stumble upon this amber. Like mel could have gotten her new powers before, I mean I felt they could have made the stumble upon the amber scene and new powers at any point before and it could have been more relevant and interesting placed somewhere else than this episode.

4. Abby/overlord/parker storyline

Abby was probably the best thing in this episode. I love her as a villian. I am here for it and I want it.

Parker got dark real quick and while I think he and Maggie shouldnt be together, I am glad he didnt die. Also glad abby clarified that his actions weren't caused by the apple. Because at least OG with Cole the tragedy (the first storyline) was that he made a choice to protect the person he loved but he ended up becoming the source and actually being taken over by the source so his actions were tinted by his OG love but corrupted by that force that possessed him. Where as abby tells him, that that jealousy and want for blood was all him. Maybe the apple and that power made him more likely to act on it than of he hadnt, but it wasnt the apples fault necessarily so. I am glad for the clarification, makes me not want Maggie and him together, but I like that exploration of power and choice. Even with Macy while the power amplified those insecurities she still was making choice which also made her choice to give up that power extra meaningful. Power is corrupting but you can still choose to fight that corruption or give in to it. I like that.

5. Jordan

I love this character to be honest. I am still figuring him out, but like dude is cursed and has been basically touched, punched, and robbed by these guys. He can't catch a break and like nobody even checks on him. Like he so far is a pretty decent although suspicious (like he doesnt trust others easily not like he himself is suspect) guy and I like him but he is getting some serious Darryl treatment right now. I dont like that, but I like him and want to see more of him. Plus, what the heck happened? Did they leave him passed out in the gym? Did they wipe his memory? What is going on?

My 14x13 Opinion

Lebanon The 300th Episode

I am so proud of this episode and so blown away by how awesome these last 4 episodes have been! Might be an unpopular opinion guys but I really like this season! Sure its had some duds like Optimism and The Scar (Though The Scar had a great broment) but I thought we’d be getting Leader!Sam this season but we have emotionally wrecked!Sam instead, and Im here for that! Needless to say I LOVED this episode, I was so pleased with pretty much everything and I have no big complaints, so lets have at it! I enjoyed the lightness of the beginning, and getting a look at the town. Im so pleased they FINALLY noted that Lebanon KS is the geographical center of the country! So the boys can get anywhere in the country within a day and a half. Its kinda weird though that Lebanon seems to have 3 different post offices. The one from Something About Mary, the one from The Spear, and now this one. LOL thats no big deal so lets move along. 

It was funny that the dude in the pawn shop committed suicide by Winchester, which of course is trying to, or successfully killing one gets you killed by the other, and Dean acknowledges that they all talk too much LOL.

The kids talking about the rumors about the boys was fun but I really wasnt impressed by “cool chick” Max. I liked the boy in the hat though, he was great. Stealing Baby is also suicide by Winchester but Sam and Dean dont go around killing teenagers so, they got lucky. 

I was amuzed by the ghost of John Wayne Gacey clown, and Dean being all “You love serial killers but hate clowns!” and Sam being like “I get it Dean” but Im really glad they didnt make Sam act like he was scared like the other times before. It just wouldnt have fit well into this episode I dont think. Saving Dean is more urgent than a clown fear right? 

Moving on to the meat, and this was as meaty as an episode can get! Dad comes because Dean makes a wish. It seems Dean’s desire to have his family together is more of a desire than getting ole Mike out of his head, and thats really pretty sweet. Dad recognizes the boys right away, which is cool especially since Sam looks NOTHING like he did back in 05, let alone 03 but John says “What happened to you?” I reckon they aged 15+ yrs Pops!

The boys give Dad the nutshell version of their lives over shots of whiskey, because, how else could you do it? But man, John’s face when he hears Mary’s voice was amazing! And I dont even like Mary but, good lord if she didnt nail these scenes!  My hear crumbled, their reunion kiss was completely believable even though we never saw them kiss on the show before. I saw some of you whine that John didnt ask permission first... really? I could see if they were gonna have sex, but when does anyone on TV ever ask to kiss someone?? Not very often. It was by far the most romantic thing Ive ever seen on this show, 

Like typical Winchesters, Dean is sucked into whats right before him and Sam is worried about the big picture. But Sam doesnt lean too hard on Dean about it, lets all have the nice family dinner we’ve never had. 

While compiling a shopping list with Mom, Dean leaves Sam alone with Dad. This scene was .... WOW... so well written and brilliantly acted. I had been wondering how Sam and John would hash things out and this was so much better than I invisioned. Its so in character for the Sam we have watched grow over the last 14 years to get over the bad and focus on the good, because those you love can be taken away in a heartbeat and being left with hard feelings is the worst. All he can think of is seeing Dad dead on the floor and he never got to say goodbye. and he never got to smooth things over. Sams emotions were raw and real! Jared really let Sam feel it, all the regret and anger and loneliness, melts away and turns into “but you loved us.... and thats enough” It was so refreshing to get so much emotional POV from Sam. Something we;ve gotten more of this season than we ever have. It hurts like a mother... but its worth it. 

After the heart shattering talk, Sam composes himself and tells Dean hes right. This was a good thing even if its jut temporary. He asks Dean if he wants company for shopping, and this is like Sam wanting to hold on to his rock (Dean). This is precious.

The boys leave Mom and Dad alone, and go shopping. Now we discover that the timeline has shifted and they have alternate selves. Dean is a wanted criminal and Sam, omg lol Sam is flaming TED talking douchebag that wears turtlenecks, loves Kale, doesnt drink coffee, and doesnt see the need for hobbies or family. But, I gotta say hes lovely in glasses 😎

This inevitably means that not only will Mom disappear, but the boys wont have the relationship they do, and we know, thats a fate worse than the universe exploding. Meanwhile we get a guest appearance by Zachariah and Cas, and Cas is back to S4-ish Cas and possibly even more of a dick. Sam and Dean find them as theyre about to kill the teenagers from earlier and save them. Cas of course doesnt know them from Adam but Zach does. A fight ensues and I just have to state very clearly that Dean went after cas with the angel blade with no second thoughts. Zach attacks Sam and tries to kill him, but Sam kills him instead. Now thats poetic to have been killed by both Winchesters at different times! 

Now Cas is trying to kil Sam, which as we know, never goes over well with Dean, but Cas really nails Sam HARD in the face and Sam spews blood all over! That was pretty graphic and dramatic! Well full strength douchebag angel or not, Dean doesnt let you beat on Sam. so heattacks Cas, and Cas is about to kill Dean. There is no “Cas its me!! Fight this!! I love you!!” like all the hellers wanted and predicted LMAO instead Sam writes a sigil with his blood and zaps Cas away.

Back at home, yet another highly emotional scene as Sam tells Mom why they have to let Dad go... she would just fade away and they would become their “other” selves. Mary cries real tears. and Sam overflows again. God my heart!! Dean talks to Dad and Dad is more than willing to lay his life down for Mom. They all sit solomly at the dinner table. Oddly enough Sam is the only one eating, and Im sure theres meta in there somewhere.... all I can think of at the moment is that hes distracting himself from the painful slence, and hes the only one who never really had Winchester Surprise. John decides to lighten the mood and be grateful for this time, and they all follow suit. And it was glorious!! My boys laughing and eating and enjoying themselves with mom and dad, I just dont know what words to give this scene! 

Afterwards, Sam and Dean are washing dishes together #husbros and they briefly discuss keeping it the way it is. I mean really.... Mom may disappear and they wont be insanely co-dependent, but Michael wont be in Dean’s head anymore, because nothing leading up to it would have ever happened. Dean says hes good with who he is, and hes good with who Sam is, and hes just too old to want to change it. 

The farewell scene was nothing less than earth shattering painful. Dean was surprisingly calm and stoic, though he had many tears. It was as if on purpose, he let Sam and Mom have all the emotions. John hugs his sons one last time. and tells them he’s so proud of them, Poor Sam is gutted. He cant even pretend he isnt crying. Dad tells them he loves them. Dean says he loves him too. Sam cant get words out so he wipes his face and nods. In a beautiful paralell from the old days when John told Dean “Take care of Sammy” and Dean answers “I always do” John says “Take care of each other” and Sam answers “We always do”😭😭😭😭😭😭John takes Mary’s hand and Sam in obvious pain crushes the pearl and Dad fades away. He wakes up in Baby back in 2003 believing he had a good dream. 

Now we have to wait a freakin month for the next episode. But Ill be ok. I think I need a break from all the emotions of the last several episodes because the next couple will probably be less dramatic. This is ok, if every episode was this emotional, even that would get old fast. We only have 7 episodes left and I dont want to rush to the end of the season for a freakin 6 month hiatus!! AGGGHHHHH!! 

Overall I am in love with this episode. It may have moved itself into first place but it has at least tied. This episode definitely met and exceeded my expectations, and last week I thought it wouldnt be able to beat that one. Im so proud of SPN, the writers, and the cast of this episode Ill give them all a standing ovation 👏👏👏👏👍💖 I think its abundantly clear now that Dabb DOES care about the brother bond and doesnt give a rats ass about dean/cas in fact it looks as if the next few episodes might be Dean lite... but we never really know till we watch the episodes.

In conclusion. on a scale from Bloodlines to Who We Are, Lebanon is a 10. Well done show.... well done! Now onward to the 400th episode!!

SHE couldn’t have done it, though, because during the incident they WERE EXTORTING MONEY FROM A PREVIOUS FOSTER FATHER.

BACKGROUND   —   

jenna grew up in and out of foster care families

each was abusive in their own way and she was thrown to taking the worst of it to protect the younger kids in the house

thatswhere she met her now brother dimitri and they’ve been close ever since he’s the only family shes got aw b

in her early teenage years she got involved with the wrong crowd and ended up “in love””(( as she calls it )) with a drug dealer who soon got her hooked 

it started out harmless with the intention of a good time and numbing her mind and the pain but it quickly escalated from popping pills and snorting cocaine to heroin and cooking up dope

jenna WAS a severe addict to heroin and abused daily. basically one day it went too far and she overdosed and nearly died

during detox sessions she finally agreed to rehab and was clean since she was twenty

PRESENTLY   —

poor jen relapsed when dimitri was taken and was in a horrible state for over a year where she had fully accepted drugs taking over her life -- extorted money from a previous abusive foster father to pay off drug debt  

upon dimitri’s return she worked on getting clean and when that wasnt enough she went back to rehab a few months ago and has just recently gotten out and is working on bettering herself the same way dimitri had 

has enrolled in narcotics anonymous SHES TRYING HER BEST YALL

she’s extremely grateful for her sobriety and she can see its a much better state but with her sobriety she’s left with all the damage she now sees shes caused 

i guess i literally would call her unstable rn especially with DIMITRI AND VIV’S WEDDING COMNG UP 

overall if you’re not up close and personal with her you won’t tell she’s a drug addict or that anything traumatic took place in her life –– she will always be joking and laughing and smiling without a care in the world 

super easy to be friends with and tbh she needs the support lol

Overall great movie. Didnt like it as much as the original but it was still really fun.

I think it coulda been better if they did more with the Statesman especially Tequila and Ginger and obviously I wish they kept the scene where Merlin comes back missing his legs which obviously he was wearing that kilt in the photo of them filming Eggsys wedding.

Poppy was pretty good and im realizing JUST NOW that her name is Poppy because shes a drug dealer and opium and... OK. But anyways I dont think she and Charlie lived up to Valentine and Gazelle but Poppy was still cool. Charlies the worst tho.

I was really surprised to see Eggsy like super brutally murder them without a thought... that was crazy... I guess JUST having to watch Merlin get blown up wasnt really great for him....

lets be honest tho if motes and schuu were real and i knew then when i was in high school they would be the absolute worst influences ever

“you want senpai to notice you? keep up the hard work!” the two of us will drive everyone in the orchestra insane. and schuu would try to comfort me when im crying after either having a panic attack or losing a solo in orchestra bc of seniority (tho tbh hed probably just start crying too and those poor actors from the space show walk in to find the two colossal trainwrecks hugging each other and sobbing on the ground). also like idk? the orchestra plays beethoven and hes heckin cheering like its an idol concert in the concert hall as soon as its announced.

and motes oh gosh. hed totes encourage the passive aggressive little shit i was in high school. the two of us would singlehandedly fund every non-disney (dreamworks?) children-oriented property that wasnt thought “cool” by the high school social group or their extended circle. oh gosh hed totes rub it in other ppls faces too. whenever wed get into a fight over who was more of a mozart fan hed be like “well i like you better so you win” im fking speechless. i feel like theyd all torment him too by extension but hes like the most unfazed mofo. honestly motes and high school me would be wild and so sweet. hed defend me against everyone and id probably think of him as my handsome prince coming to rescue me or somethin. hed tell off when ppl pick on me for having long hair, and not wearing glasses (i feel like schuu would be so adorable w glasses id be torn to wear them or not), and hed totally rub it in that his hair isnt a clip or an extension and have it long all the time, flipping it around and overall being a shit. but like a delightful shit.

id be so grateful to both of them id save up enough math points to buy disney tickets so all of us could go. theyd completely fluster me around all the people id grown up knowing. “is the pink one ur boyfriend?” and theyd both heckin rock the fiddle w me too - goes into frontierland- -starts playing a violin concerto- id want to take them to rileys too, itd be fun.

anyways this is by far the strangest au ive ever thought of but kinda satisfying
