THINGS TO NOTICE ABOUT MARIUS !

WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE . marius stands on the shorter side at 5'7" & isn't a very physically intimidating person. however, his attitude can certainly add a threatening factor to him, as well as his skill in sleight of hand & manipulation, which can make others who are aware of these skills wary of him. he has a heart - shaped face, dark brown eyes, short brown hair, & is most often seen wearing some sort of scowl or foul expression, another reason other people tend to avoid him. he also shaves frequently, disliking the feeling of facial hair. he's around 155 lbs with little muscle, as he doesn't work out, & his thin build is quite easy to spot. marius is most often seen in collared, button - up shirts, which somewhat dress him up & are just enough to imply he cares about his appearance, at least a little bit. he will, occasionally, wear a simple dark crewneck, but he almost always layers this with a collared jacket -- or, most often, his plethora of trench coats. he leans closest to mild or dark tones, including brown, navy, gray, black, & sometimes light blue ( for dressier attire ). marius is a blue jean - wearer at heart & usually wears brown or black vintage boots. he isn't one to wear accessories or jewelry, not even watches. his skin is tanned & is accustomed to the sun, considering how often he gets out, as marius is not a homebody.

WHAT THEY SMELL LIKE . considering how little marius actually cares about his appearance, at least, if he isn't trying to put on a persona, he's more apt to purchase cheaper shampoos and soaps. he detests the smell of mint / herbs / flowers ( another reason he hates so many vegas casinos ) so stays far away from them, instead sticking to scents such as sandalwood & vanilla, sometimes amber as well. he often has a woody & warm scent to him, & can sometimes carry the smell of whatever casino(s) he's been in, lingering cigarette smoke & citruses, sometimes even rum if he's been drinking.

WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE . marius uses spearmint toothpaste, which is the most mild mint he's ever been able to stand, giving him a very soft menthol taste. he smokes occasionally, though never actually buys a pack of his own -- meaning he tastes like an array of types, usually marlboro gold, even sometimes marlboro red if he's feeling up to its strength. this undertone can also be paired with whatever food he's eaten, which most often ranges from asian food, indian food, greasy sausage pizza, & sometimes milk chocolate if he's willing to indulge. he doesn't drink soda, only water, so never has any kind of specific taste there. he'd only ever have a sugary taste concerning drinks, as he likes rum the most.

WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE . his most notable verbal trait is his northern new jersey accent, which isn't intensely thick but it's noticeable to anyone who meets him; sometimes it can even be mistaken for a new york city accent. it becomes more obvious when marius is annoyed or upset, spilling through in a heavier quality. his voice isn't very deep, a little more on the average to higher side, and can crack and break when he's angry, as his voice tends to rise to a higher pitch in these situations. generally, however, marius' tone is calm and level, though he has a hard time keeping his constant irritability from slipping in. as insanely impatient as he is, marius speaks quickly but not too fast as to lose people in his voice's tracks, though it wouldn't be surprising if any non - new york or new jersey native wouldn't understand what he was saying, leading to rolled eyes and even more impatient snaps, irritated that his words weren't understood or heard immediately. he doesn't frequently curse but he doesn't keep it to intense situations or emotions, either; they come out every so often, & it's not shocking for him to drop some kind of profanity -- quick with words like “fuck,” “shit,” & “asshole,” which he specifically likes to call people he doesn't like. marius is a confident speaker but isn't much of a jokester, even with those he's comfortable being around & loves. he can be quite sarcastic, though, which is most often sharp & biting.

WHAT THEY FEEL LIKE . physically, marius is smooth & soft - skinned, despite his tendency to skip moisturizing as he often sees it as a waste of time. he always has clean hands & occasionally has callouses and cuts on his fingers from repeatedly shuffling cards and practicing cardistry, which has become a sort of stim for him. his face has no stubble, as he shaves frequently, & his hair is soft if touched & not all that thick. marius sometimes sports blisters on his heels from his boots, especially if they're new on him. emotionally, marius is not a very friendly person & this can often be easily felt by anyone aware enough, unless he's actively shielding that part of himself -- & even then, his annoyance still slips through the cracks, evident in his demeanor, expressions, & gestures. he has a colder feel to him & is generally unfriendly enough to notice immediately, his smiles fake unless he's truly close to someone, but he becomes more warm when he likes someone & his chilly exterior finally begins to slough off as time passes with those he loves and respects.

BL's I'm Watching in December

(From favorite to least)

The Sign - God, I love this series. It has everything for me. BillyBabe have amazing chemistry and I love how their pairing is written. Hate to love is my favorite trope and they do it so well cuz it’s also laced with banter, flirtation and tension. You can see them genuinely falling for each other. And on top of that, we have a really interesting storyline with lots of questions and mystery. The production value of the series is super impressive too.

City Boy Log - Technically this isn’t a BL, but to me it counts. It’s scripted and centers around two BL pairings. I binged the whole thing in a day and loved it. The chemistry between the main duo is just so good and I love how bold the actors are. I also really like the simplicity of how it's filmed, it feels super natural. It’s a very fun watch and I would love to see them get an official series.

Playboyy the Series - Yes, this show has hot scenes (tho I find some more awkward than they are probably intended to be) but I like the series because of the overall storyline. There are a hell of a lot of characters and it can be a bit confusing but I think I am following it lol. I like quite a few of the pairings and plots that are happening and I def. want to know where the show is going to go. There are some great sex positive messages and discussion about consent that are really nice to see too.

Pit Babe - Really enjoying this series. It started very strong and while I find some storylines to be a bit draggy, it’s really fun to get an omega verse BL. I think they could do a bit more with it, but they seem to be slowly moving in that direction. Again, this series has an overall storyline arc that is mysterious and I’m curious to know where it’s headed. I also love the chemistry between Pavel and Pooh.

Last Twilight - I’m not as in love with this series as others seem to be but I still really enjoy it. It’s nice to see a series that sort of starts more with friendship that blossoms into something deeper and I find the plot of one character being the caretaker for the other to be very sweet and also unique. The scenes where JimmySea just touch hands are so powerful so I am loving their slow progression.

Breeze of Love - Binged this whole series in a night, and it was a great. Very fun watch. Weak kissing scene but sort of expected and it didn’t take away from the series much for me because I did like the chemistry of the main pair. I think some things could have been better but I liked it.

Twins the Series - This series can be dumb at times, and some storylines are a bit blasé but overall I am having a lot of fun watching it. I really like the chemistry between the main duo.

Destiny Seeker - This one ended a bit ago but I finally got a chance to watch the series and I loved it. Mostly for the main pairing who were so fun to watch. Have I mentioned I love hate to love pairings?

The Egoist (movie) - Not a series but a movie that I also finally got around to watching. I was loving it, at first. It was fantastic. The chemistry was great and the storyline hit hard. Hated the ending though, so a bit of a warning for anyone that is curious, if you don’t like unhappy endings, don’t watch lol.

My Story - Filo BL’s can be a bit cheesy at times and this one was no exception. I do think it started a bit better than it ended and I had to fastfoward quite a bit of the show, but I did like the chemistry between the pairings and enjoyed watching it.

Cooking Crush - Was unsure of this series at first, and I am not a big fan of cooking type shows, but I think this one is got a lot better starting with ep 2. I have always liked OffGun too and I am enjoying the cutesy moments and stuff at least. So we'll give it a chance to grow.

Unforgotten Night - An older series I am finally getting around to watching. Loved the first ep, then the next few were kind of bland. I didn’t hear great things about it, so we’ll see how it fits in at my end of year ranking (prob. will make the 2024 list tho since I am watching SLOW lol...) but I do really love the premise of the series. More friends with benefits type bl’s please!

The Day I Loved You - Another filo BL that I watched this month and it was quite enjoyable and cute. I liked the first half much better than the second half, it got a bit sad/depressing for me but I still think it was very well done and reminded me of a bit of heartstopper. Would def recommend people to check it out.

For Him - This one is okay, it doesn’t really have much of a point to me right now? lmao. But I think the sex scenes are well done and it’s holding my interest enough to keep watching.

Cherry Magic Thailand - I want to like this one, but something about it is just off for me. I like TayNew but am not in love with them and I think this version is a lot less cute and quirky like the original was. It just feels a bit awkward to me and I find Tay’s inner voice to be a bit silly? I wish it was more serious and sweet and less cringey lol. I also find New’s character to be a bit pathetic considering he is a 30 year old man… I understand it was following the OG SL, but again, I feel like that series just did everythin better lol…. But, I’ll give it a chance.

You Are Mine - This one was alright, I enjoyed parts of it, other parts I found kind of slow. It's def. not going to be an all-time favorite for me, but it was worth watching.

My Dear Gangster Oppa - Love Meen. Love the main duo’s chemistry, they feel natural together. Loved the first episode… but then, I just kinda stopped caring. The whole gangster/mob stuff just didn’t interest me and I found the overall plot of the main pairing to be a bit rushed. Wish they had built that up a tad more. But it was alright.

Brothers the Series - Another past BL that I’ve only seen a few eps of so far, so it’s hard to judge, but it’s okay so far. I do like the chemistry between the main pair and am curious to know where they are going to take things. But I am going very slow with this one.

Sahara Sensei to Toki-Kun - Only seen a few eps of this one and so far I’m, not really that into it. It’s okay and has some cute moments, but I don’t really like the chemistry between the main duo all that much, and I find it quite creepy he has a crush on a teacher tbh… But, we’ll see where it goes. Not one of Japan’s best imo.

VIP Only - This series is okay but I find it kind of boring. I like the main pairing okay, but I’m also not feeling the storyline that much, it’s just a bit bland to me.

7 Days Before Valentine - Sort of interesting premise and I like the chemistry between the angel dude and the main guy (if it’s even going to go there?) but there are some dumb/weird scenes and moments and the storyline is frustrating too. We’ll see what happens.

I Will Knock You - Older series I am finally attempting to skim through but it’s very meh. The chemistry is just okay. The plot is pretty boring. The main guy is a bit of an ass and hard to like right now but I also kinda like the banter? Maybe? IDK.

Middleman’s Love - Wanted to like this series because I like the characters and the chemistry but it’s just been dragging and dragging since ep 1. I didn't expect it to take this long for something to happen between the main two and the main character can be really annoying and frustrating and a bit TOO dramatic. They use him to be funny but he just comes off obnoxious? Bit of a bust for me. The series just doesn’t have a purpose...

Bake Me Please - Don’t like this series at all really. I don’t think the main couple has any chemistry. Ohm’s character is frankly annoying! And their relationship went from 0 to 60 in like 1 scene. I would just stop watching alll together, but it’s got so few episodes that I might as well just finish it.

Tie the Knot - This one is at the bottom cuz I barely remember what it was about but I just remember I skimmed the majority of it lol.

Chapter 18: A Confession...of Love?

Frantic screaming from the Voice renting space in your head jolts you awake, only to find your Dream Lord towering over you, his eyes landing on your arms which you held close. You watch cluelessly as his face loses whatever colour it has left, his soft, adoring look vanishing in the blink of an eye and replaced with a livid, fiery expression. You wonder what on earth for, but then you realise you had something cradled in your arms that by his law you had no right to even set eyes on.

With great force, yanks the offensive object right from your grasp with a force that almost pulls you with it, causing you to scream and scramble to your feet.

You observe, horrified, as he spares a repulsed look at the book in his shaking hands then meets your eyes with his own, black and filled with rage you’ve only seen in him when he caught you with the man whose dreams he’s plagued with nightmares.

“Why do you have this?” 

His lips barely move, but the voice coming out of him echoes your bed-chambers, menacing enough for you to start backing away until the back of your legs hit the bed. You try to open your mouth, but no words come out, and frankly, you couldn’t find any. 

“I am waiting, little dream.”

With nothing else to continue backing into, you’re now trapped between the four-poster bed and his body, standing at his full height, his palpable anger so strong it makes you flinch. At this stage, any explanation of yours would fall on deaf ears, but you had to try. 

“My Lord, please -”

“Do I not love you enough for you to seek this mortal’s company?” he interrupts you, but this time, his voice isn’t strained by fury at your actions.

He sounds deeply hurt. Something you had not expected and had not meant to do. Frantic, you try to appease him as much as you can, so you place your hands on his charcoal coat, over his chest.

You start, your words coming out a mess, “My Lord, th-that wasn’t my meaning -”

“My sister has corrupted you,” he concludes in a whisper, as he traces your cheek with a finger.

“No, I came along with her on my own accord, she didn’t -”

But he grabs your chin harshly, his tone harsh and chastising, “Have I not ordered you to stay away from the dreams?”

“You were killing him, my Lord!” you exclaim as you let your own resentful tears stream down your cheeks. The hand on your chin moves to wipe them, but you swat it away, to his visible surprise. “How could you be so cruel, condemning him to a life of unhappiness, and for something he can’t even remember!”

“It is no more than he deserves,” he responds with a snarl. “That was my judgement of his transgressions against me.”

Swallowing thickly, you put on a brave face and confess: “I put it right. Before I said goodbye.”

Your Lord narrows his eyes at your revelation. “What did you do?” he asks with a clenched jaw.

“I undid Sumnio’s damage, my Lord,” you say, bracing yourself for the repercussions. “It was the right thing to do.”

No one could ever defy him and not face the consequences. Not even you.

“You still love this mortal.”

It wasn’t so much an accusation, as it was an observation, and it throws you off so much you just stare at him wide-eyed - it’s enough of a response to him. He bares his teeth as he grits them in his ire, grabbing the back of your neck in warning.

“Did you lay with him?” he asks seethingly, the pain in his voice evident once more.

“What? No!” How could he still be jealous of someone you already let go of, when he now has you locked in a relationship with him, very much pregnant and with nowhere else to go? “My Lord, I would never do that to you. I already bid him farewell. I will never see him again,” you say in an attempt to mollify him, but you tear up at the finality of your own words. 

You’ll never see him again.

You choke back your tears, and whisper, “Please, you have to believe me.”

Despite your weepy confession, he remains as stony and immovable as ever.

He lets go of his hold on the back of your neck and caresses your cheek. He begins softly, venomously, staring at you with those dark, pitiless eyes, “You broke into my office, went against my command and undid my punishment. So tell me: what shall be yours?”

“Please, Lord Morpheus, forgive me just this once,” you beg, clinging again to his coat as your tears fall freely. After all, you came but an inch to losing your sanity the last time he punished you, and you might just not make it a second time. “I only ended everything with him so I could put him behind me, and focus on us. Please…”

You watch him pause as he searches your face with an almost pained expression. Finally, he says, his voice almost breaking, “And yet you went out of your way to ensure his happiness, all while refusing mine by denying me your love.”

You shake your head vehemently, while you watch him dip his hands into the insides of his coat, and, already anticipating the worst, you close your eyes, feeling fine grains of sand brushing against your skin. As soon as it dissipates, the smell of damp and musk invades your nostrils, and your eyes are greeted with a sight you thought you’d never see again:

Your prison cell in the form of the chambers in the tallest of towers in the abandoned castle.

Very much panicking, you kneel at your Lord’s feet and grovel. “No, no, you can’t leave me in here again, Lord Morpheus, please, I beg of you!”

Slowly, he gets to your level and cups your face, but he has no empathy in his eyes for your woeful pleas.

“You leave no choice, my dream,” he whispers as his thumbs stroke your tear-stained cheeks. “I am taking your dreaming abilities back. I cannot allow you to continue disobeying my word and endangering our child.”

“But I didn’t - !” you start, but he starts backing away from you and sand begins to engulf his form.

“This tower will be your home until our son is born.”

“No, no! Please don’t leave me!”

But your screams only echo in the now-empty room, and even the traces of sand that he left as you scream yourself hoarse vanish, refusing to lend you an ear.

Please come back.

Your Dream Lord doesn’t come back, so you spend the night in the abandoned castle alone, curled up in the corner of the room on the cold stone floor, not bothering to use the four-poster bed. The pain of losing Ollie for the second time is just as fresh as ever, and add to that being sentenced to carry out your pregnancy on this desolate island, far away from the heart of the Dreaming…

Could this have turned out differently had you done more careful planning?

However aware you are about how pointless it is to cry about it, you still do, until you couldn’t anymore, and you collapse on the floor wishing you could sleep and never wake up.

Dungeon.

You are roused with a start by the Voice’s prompt, recognizing the same word it uttered many times in the last time you were here. You rub the sleep and dry tears off your eyes, wanting nothing more than to sink further into the soft mattress. Immediately you sit up to find yourself tucked comfortably under the warm sheets of the four-poster bed you remember giving a wide berth to. Has your Dream Lord been here, and has he moved you to the bed himself? The theory alone is enough to wipe all traces of drowsiness in you, so you kick the blankets unceremoniously off you to sit on the edge of the bed and contemplate what in the name of the Fates you’re supposed to do now.

Dungeon.

Perhaps you could watch the sea from the balcony? That’s certainly better than moping inside the depressing room. Maybe you could go to the shores and watch the tides until dusk?

Dungeon!

Yelling out of frustration, you grab a pillow and throw it against the brick wall, where it bounces off without making a single sound.

“Could you for once leave me the fuck alone?!” you scream at no one in particular, and the only response you get is your own voice bouncing off the grey walls.

As if you had better things to do, comes the Voice’s snarky reply.

“Fine,” you grumble under your breath.

Not bothering to take a bath, you approach the closed door that leads to the spiral staircase of the tower. The old brass knob surprisingly turns easily, meaning your King had not bothered to keep you locked inside and away from the other areas of the desolate palace. You hadn’t run out of luck yet, it seems.

Tracing the path you and Lady Delirium wandered together is easy enough, seeing as your first meeting was quite memorable. Thankfully your way to the dungeon is unobstructed, and in no time you reach the clammy underground cell you had once sleepwalked to, its iron bars still ajar, just the way you left it.

“I’m here. What now?” you ask the Voice.

But, infuriatingly enough, it remains silent.

Pacing in the middle of the dark cell, you try casting your mind back to the words it had kept on muttering. What could be here that it wants you to find? Hidden treasure, perhaps? What you would do with it if you find it, or how the Voice in your head could have known its existence is a mystery to you, but whatever it was had to be buried underneath the stone floors.

You kneel on the floor and start lifting each stone. They’re bloody heavy, so it takes you a while to reveal the entire dungeon’s black earth and pile the stones neatly in a corner. Huffing heavily at the effort, you notice through the small, high window how the sun had quickly risen past noon, so you hastily run to the upper rooms of the castle to find a wooden plank you can dig with. 

You spend a good few hours ploughing the soil for something that is yet to be revealed to you. Once you’ve dug up a spot to find nothing but crawling bugs, you move to another, hoping you’d unearth something, anything, that could be of value to that resident in your head, but it doesn't say a word, not a single sausage, and you end up empty-handed, with only nothing but dirt soiling your fingernails and your dress.

You decide to take a breather, sitting down on one of the stone bricks and throwing pebbles against the brick wall.

He’s here.

Your master had just arrived, presumably in the towers, wondering by now where you’d gone. Obviously, he could not in any circumstance find you in the dungeon, for the questions he’d raise would certainly be something you wouldn’t want to answer.

So, you run, intending to lead him as far away from the underground cells as you possibly can. You barely reach the ballroom when you hear a deep, velvety, disembodied voice.

“Where are you, my dream?”

It’s your Dream Lord’s, and it’s coming from the walls of the palace itself, reverberating in the empty, decaying halls, and it’s impatient.

Unsatisfied with your distance from the cells, you sprint to the opposite wing, reaching a wide, once-grand staircase and ascending its worn steps, tripping twice as you do. You’re panicking just a little by now, and it doesn’t help that you’re almost out of breath and your heart is pounding in your ears.

“There is no point in running, little dream. I will find you,” the disembodied voice declares. 

Still, you continue giving chase. The second floor, with its confusing labyrinth of hallways, is hard to navigate, and you don’t know if your eyes are just playing cruel tricks on you, but at every turn, you seem to glimpse out of the corner of your eye a black shadow at the end, still and waiting, only to find it gone the moment you focus on it.

He’s toying with you, whispers the Voice.

And for the first time in a long time, you find yourself agreeing with it.

The fourth floor of the palace is no different, except most of its empty hallways are unpassable, its ceilings already caved in and exposing it to the elements. Once you find an empty passageway, you scurry along, navigating through its fallen debris, until you reach the end, where a closed door lies waiting. With no room for hesitation, you push it open.

You enter what was once a grand room, except its entire ceiling and its walls have all but collapsed, revealing a scenery not unlike what your balcony at the tower offered. The afternoon sun exposes the ramshackled contents of what was once a room worthy of a noble, and when you reach the edge where a window once stood, you see nothing but the ocean waves crashing against the rocky cliffs below.

You have nowhere else to run, it seems.

Behind you, you feel your Lord’s ominous presence manifest, and goosebumps spring all over your bare arms as his warm breath fans your ear as he whispers against it:

“I found you.”

He twists your body so you could face him, and all you see is a glimpse of his smug grin and fiery eyes before his lips capture yours hungrily, while his arms wrap around your form to prevent you from breaking away. You’re forced to concentrate on kissing him back and moving your tongue along with his that you barely notice the tiny grains of sand brushing all over your skin - only until your back hits something soft does it dawn on you that he has taken you back to the tower, and laid you on the bed in your dirt-soiled clothes, shoes and all.

You whine into your kiss and pull your head away, breathless and panic-stricken, breaking into sobs, as memories of him taking you night after night mercilessly against your will on the same bed flood your thoughts. You beg, as you have done on those nights, for him to stop, but he ignores your pleas just as he has done many times before. You writhe underneath him in your terrified state, but in response to your defiant actions, he growls in disapproval and grips your jaw to make you face him.

“I must admit: your little chase gave me quite the thrill, dream of mine,” he says under his breath. “But, disobey me again and I shall ensure you will never see our son after he is born.”

Undeterred by his threat, you feebly push against him with your palms, you beseech him, “Please, Lord Morpheus, I don’t want to do this anymore, please…”

He just tuts in response and takes both your wrists and places them above your head. You feel sand wrap around them snugly and they get pulled gently to the posts - you try to yank them back, but to your horror, the sand around your wrists tightens its hold and wouldn’t budge.

He’s cuffed you to the bed using his sand.

The realisation sends you into a state of hysterics, but your Dream Lord just nuzzles your neck, shushing you and gently nipping from your jaw down to your throat.

“No, nonono, please…” you continue to sob while his hands freely roam your body, his hands grazing over your clothed breasts. In the blink of an eye, your soiled dress disappears, and so do his clothes. Helpless, you could only squirm as his mouth ravages your right breast and squeezes the other, pinching your nipple as he does. You whimper in pain at the action, and he actually pulls away, but before you can sigh in relief, he parts your legs and settles between them.

And you couldn’t thrash, because he grips you firmly at the waist as he slips his hard cock inside you. Groaning above you, he hooks his arms under your knees, sliding in and out of you at an angle that makes you bite your lip to stifle your increasingly louder moans. He picks up his pace, then brings your foreheads together, whispering heatedly over your lips:

“Can your mortal make you feel like this, my Mera?”

A particular thrust causes you to cry out, rendering you unable to respond and powerless underneath him. He continues goading you on:

“Can he pleasure you like I do, Dream of mine? Can he love you, worship you, as I do?”

“Please stop, please stop…”

But instead of heeding your piteous sobs, he grabs hold of your hips and starts slamming hard into you, earning screams from you, and desperately you try tugging on the sand binding you to the bed, but like his thrusts, its hold on you is relentless.

“Will you renounce your pathetic mortal and pledge to me your eternal love?”

But, how could he demand that from you, when he’s already taken from you everything that actually mattered to you?

“Answer me, little dream.”

And so you do: with a vigorous shaking of your head. No matter what he does to you, what he will do to you, you refuse to give him that satisfaction.

“Is that so, then? Have it your way.”

“I will come back for you. Until then, I leave you to consider your response.”

You look up at him in disbelief, but he’s gone in a swirl of sand, leaving you wanting, alone, and every bit disgusted at the state with which he left you.

You wake up to the sound of loud, squelching, firm hands gripping your thighs apart and a hot tongue flicking and sucking on your clit.

Your immediate response is a moan of pleasure, but it’s gone as soon as you hear a dark chuckle from the Endless grinning smugly from between your legs. He doesn’t break eye contact with you as he continues lapping the wetness you offer, alternating between flicking your clit with that devious tongue of his and marking the insides of your thighs with little love bites that drive you to the brink of madness. “Eyes on me, little one.”

His hand slowly caresses your cheek before snaking to the back of your head, and like you’ve done for him so many times, you open your mouth as he pushes his cock inside your mouth with a groan of pleasure.

With his hand gripping your head and hair, he controls the pace of his thrusts into your mouth, and you could do nothing but take him in, eventually tearing up as his tip reaches the back of your throat. He knows you couldn’t take his entire length, so you’re grateful that he doesn’t shove it fully inside. Still, you fight the urge not to choke on his cock, and your eyes continually water at the effort.

As if sensing your struggle, he coos, “You’re very good, taking me so well, little dream. You take your King so well.”

Unsatisfied with your vague response, he coaxes, “You ‘will’ what, my dream?”

“I take it all back…I don’t love him anymore. I will only love you, Lord Morpheus, until the end of all time,” you declare softly, while your heart wilts inside, your stomach turning absolute revulsion at the words that just came out of your mouth.

You could only look on as his eyes close, as if in pure bliss, seemingly relishing the confession he forced out of you. Slowly, his eyes open, revealing striking blue, gleaming in the soft light of the chambers with the galaxies it contains, and they’re soft, so tender, and for a moment, you almost believe he holds all the affection in the universe for you.

Almost.

“Again,” comes his short command. “Say it again.”

“I will love only you, Morpheus.”

He lets you glimpse a flash of the softest, most subtle smile you’ve seen on him in a long time, before he closes the distance between you both and plants a tender, lingering kiss on your lips, and proclaims, allowing all of his dreamers in the universe, dreaming their little dreams, to hear, “I love you, Mera, and I will destroy entire worlds if it keeps you by my side.”

Dream of the Endless kisses you, deeper this time, more passionate, and you let him sweep you with it, just as he enters you gradually. You moan in his mouth, which spurs him on, and just as he buries himself in you at the hilt, he pulls out almost agonisingly slow, as if relishing how needy you are for him, before settling back inside, choosing a gentle pace. In no time, you’re a sobbing, moaning mess underneath him, and while his thrusts continue to bring you to the edge, the lips sucking and biting on your neck, your throat, your shoulders, and your breasts keep you anchored. He wraps his arms around you as he makes love to you with an all-consuming devotion, and as his lips nip at your earlobe, he whispers a confession only meant for you to hear:

I love you, I love you, I love you.

Until you couldn’t hold it in anymore, and every part of your body just explodes in pleasure. Crying out your climax with nothing else to hold, you wrap your arms around him, only vaguely noting that he’s already released you. A groan rumbles through your Lord’s body, and as you tremble beneath him in the aftermath of your orgasm, he too, finds his release, and he captures your lips in his as his warmth fills your core. Finally, he thrusts the last of his seed inside you before letting his form collapse on top of you. He doesn’t pull out just yet, he just holds you in his arms tighter, as if afraid you’d vanish. You stay, wrapped in his hold, limp and drained, trying to catch your breath.

“Lord Morpheus, you’re crushing me,” you let out in a strained voice.

He pulls away just a little bit, propped on his elbows, his eyes boring into yours and twinkling with mild amusement. “Apologies, my love,” he says as his forefinger traces your cheek softly. “I never want to let you go.”

Even with the most tender look in his eyes, his gaze still feels intense, you look away, feeling bare and vulnerable, while he goes on to rub circles on your collarbone like a real lover would after a night of boundless passion.

After what seems like an eternity, he gets out of bed and picks you up like a bride. Wordlessly, he carries you to the bathroom and lowers you with care down the bathtub which he instantly fills with warm, comforting water. He gets in position behind you, holding you close to his chest, and over your ear, he whispers:

“I love you.”

The hand wrapped around your form squeezes your arm ever-so-slightly - he’s waiting for a response, and from now on, you’d have to give him one, and it should be just the one he likes to hear:

“I love you too.”

And you wonder inwardly if it’s possible to just hate the one who breathed life into you with every cell in your body he’s crafted.

The wooden plank in your grasp breaks at the intensity with which you plunge it into the black earth. You huff in exasperation as you get to your feet and find another object you could dig with. You settle for a knight’s helmet you find in the ballroom, grinning just a little as Ethan the Knight crosses your memory. Trudging back to the dungeon, you get back to digging for whatever the hell it is the Voice is telling you to look for.

It’s the day after your rather forced confession of love for your Dream Lord, after all, so you’re really not in the best mood for earth-digging.

You’ve dug just about every inch of the earth twice, wondering vaguely how you’d place it all back now that you’ve gone almost knee-deep enough on some patches. Grumbling under your breath, you begin digging on a patch you swore you’d dug into for the third time. You search for it for about half an hour (you’ve lost count at some point), but the helmet hits a sizeable pebble, and it bends out of shape, rendering it unusable.

Impulsively, you throw it against the stone bricks with an irritated groan, and it hits a brick with a loud thunk. You glare at the spot it hits before springing up to get yourself another helmet, maybe a shield or a spear this time, but then you do a double take:

The brick the helmet hit was now dislodged slightly, and that’s when it hits you.

With your vigour renewed, you start tapping the bricks with the broken helmet, trying to hit a stone brick you could knock out of place. It takes you a while, but you get to a brick located at the very bottom of the wall, so you crawl, on all fours, to get the stupid thing out and finally put an end to the farce the Voice made you undertake.

After struggling with the heavy brick, you find a tiny crevice, and since it’s too dark for you to make out its insides, you tentatively let your hand feel for its contents.

“There better not be a fucking spider in here,” you mutter.

Thankfully, your hand doesn’t feel a single eight-legged creature - instead, your hands discover paper, of all things, lots of them. Making sure you’ve taken them all out, you fumble the space for a final time, before plopping down on the dirt to inspect your so-called treasure.

The papers seem to have seen better days, judging by the browning on the edges. They’re filled from the front page to back with familiar, barely-legible handwriting, and on one, you even spot a lovely little watercolour painting of a map of sorts.

It dawns on you in a flash why the handwriting seemed familiar:

It was yours, after all, down to the same way you dot your ‘i’s’ and loop your ‘g’s and ‘y’s.

But I don't remember writing this, you think to yourself.

Read, comes the Voice’s urgent demand.

Once you find where the papers begin and where they end, you dig right into the material, and you don’t put it down until you’ve read, and digested every single word.

What you read makes your blood boil with indescribable hatred for Dream of the Endless, before clutching your heart and doubling in pain at the gravity of the confession etched in ink - with the papers on hand, you tremble visibly with the burning desire for revenge.

Elsewhere in the Dreaming, the Abyss stirs awake with a low hum, its rumbling echoing the cave it has occupied for almost three hundred years. It’s hungry, always has been, as is the function bestowed upon it by its creator. Had it not been so unceremoniously abandoned, it could have its fill of the void the mortals seem to always possess in their hearts, and it could’ve continued consuming its fill, for humanity is rife with it - all the pain, the horror and the depravity - the emptiness they bring to the souls make for a delectable morsel which it had not had the pleasure of tasting in a long time. Being granted a place in the Realm of the King of Dreams had its downside.

Not that it has never fed in its time in the Dreaming. It had, after all, rare visitors: dreamers who unwittingly end up in its cave, only to be tempted by the bliss of nonexistence, and their souls either picked up by Death or be offered a place in the realm, as is customary for those who meet their demise in their sleep.

Ah, but this one, if it happens to cross its path, may prove to be an adequate meal, and it almost makes its cave shake in anticipation.

It won’t be long now until it dines - and what a lovely feast it would make.

Anyway idk if uve decided to pull for luocha yet or not but i wanna give my two cents (1/2)

LUOCHA:

pros : he's SP positive and basically won't need to skill ever unless its an emergency, he can dispell buffs from enemies, and he has a cleanse so he can get rid of pesky debuffs from allies. Also, you only need to focus on ATK% on Luocha and speed if you want him to generate as much skill points as possible, tank stats like HP and DEF are great too, and you won't need much Effect Res on him because he has a trace that can increase his chances of resisting Crowd Control debuffs, his heals are massive and incredibly comfortable to run any team with him

cons : Gallagher exists now, and he's kind of a budget Luocha option who also provides some utility in his debuff from ult and enhanced basic atk (break dmg increase and atk% reduction for enemies specifically), Luocha doesn't provide any dmg increasing buffs for the team unless you have his E1 or his S1 LC that can give 12 spd for one turn but imo its not that great. Luocha's heals are plenty but as with all healers (barring Luochas E2 that can shield), they don't really help to prevent HP loss or stuff like a boss one shotting ur team, they restore HP and help so u can survive for longer rather than block the dmg from coming

Overall : he's a powerful solo sustain , and I'd recommend him especially with an SP negative dps like Dan Heng IL, Seele, Qingque etc etc. and also HP draining DPS like Jingliu and Blade. Overall a very comfy healer, but I don't recommend going for him if you want to use Gallagher because they provide nearly the same value just Gallagher has less healing as in HP wise but he basically does a similar thing of once u ult with him when allies attack they can get their hp restored too

OOOH TY TY good points for both... for me a major reason I want him is he can heal w/o it being his turn and w/o an ultimate, but I think if I just get gud I can reduce the amount that I actually need to do that. Also besides Lynx who is wayyy underbuilt Natasha is my only healer. Fu xuan is a good sustain but I actually like Nat more in that department lol. Iirc he can also cleanse debuffs like Nat? which is INSANELY helpful

U make a good point with Gallagher... In general I jist need more healers of different elements. I think I may pull for him on one acct abd save for Boothill on the other? But its hard to decide which one .... On one hand my America acct has wayy more characters and benefits more from a good healer rn, but having Luocha on my Asia acct would help SOOO much w/ some of the bosses I struggled with (COUGH. PHANTYLIA. COUGH.). Well I have a lot of time to decide since his banner only just started ^.^ ill save for now and decide l8r

So I think it goes:

Season 3: I do like the later seasons too but the high school era is my fave. And this is the best of those seasons for me! Edges out s2 bc FAITH, & also the wishverse

Season 2: also a great season! Spike!!! Points deducted for juliet landau's earscraping accent, and also how on the nose some of the angel/us stuff is

Season 6: THE BIG BAD IS LIFE!!!!! Musical ep! Angsty smutty spuffy! The payoff to a lot of willow/magic/power stuff which had built over several seasons!!!! Def my fave season of the post-high school era, I think you can tell the show was being run by a woman at this point, unfairly maligned, extremely iconic.

Season 1: unfairly maligned! A pretty decent intro season, yes there are some eps which aren't great but that's probs true of every season and w/e it also has bangers like nightmares. Points added for being a short punchy season tbh.

Season 4: what a mixed bag! Several of my fave high concept eps but overall as a season it does flounder. Riley is a very boring character, and the initiative plot wasn't particularly well handled, and the fact the show clearly didn't have enough of a budget to do it well makes it seem an odd choice. Chipped spike was a v fun addition to the gang though!

Season 7: it's OK, overall I like it/s finale as a cap to the show & the first is a pretty engaging big bad. But the eps feel very undifferentiated & a lot of the potential slayers are downright annoying.

Season 5: definitely my least fave season. First of all Dawn is an extremely annoying character, I know she does get better in the later seasons but never enough to justify the sudden inclusion of a young character in a show that was pleasantly becoming one about adults imo (the parallel of conor in Angel probs quadruples my irritation lol). But also suddenly throwing us into ~an au version of the show that we just remain in is SUCH a weird writing choice?? AND riley's still there for a good chunk of the season?? 🙄 bleugh! plus I find glory to be quite an annoying villain, she's a god from some other realm who kinda speaks like a valley girl bc... why? Feels like it was written by Mike schur (derogatory). Ben is such a wet blanket boring love interest too 🙄 and the ~madness stuff is downright offensive. I will add that s5 was v confusing the first time I watched it cos it aired pre watershed on the BBC and they just cut loads of stuff out sdftdfg eg the 'bater' side of the master/bater jokes, or Ben's death 😅 & like i do appreciate that last part isn't exactly the show's fault but maybe that did poison me against it a little extra 😂

well, i love your comments, for starters—because i think they get at what i just prize in comments general? just, like, any account of feelings/reaction to a scene that i wrote or any kind of picking apart a specific line and how it works. any deeper analysis is also really nice, although def not necessary, just bc i know fic is an escape for lots of people, and i don’t want people to feel like commenting on fic is work haha! but when that does come in, i do feel very happy

🪄what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?

depending on the time of day, i’ll usually settle down for a movie or an episode of a show i love. i’ve found that in order to keep myself from getting burnt out, it’s just as crucial for me to consume stories as it is for me to write them—so yeah, def reading or watching something is kind of my care post-fic! (and, occasionally, a glass of wine. if i’m living by myself, ofc.)

☯️how do you think engaging with each other through tumblr, twitter, comments, kudos, creates healthy fandom experiences? How do you deal with that if you're not a social person/experience social anxiety?

hm, i think to an extent, it can be helpful! i have only just gotten to answering comments on ao3, and i only got to that point bc i realized that i do love talking to other fandom people—but i only got to that conclusion after really having conversations more often with folks on twitter and tumblr.

however, i do think that like, with anything and everything, it can quickly become p toxic. i have a bit of an anxious and obsessive personality, for example, so ?? i will find that sometimes, i get really nervous about feeling as though i’m coming off more transactional or insincere, and sometimes i find myself thinking “oh boy, if i go quiet for too long, people will no longer find my stories worth reading or noticing” and that’s all definitely very dramatic, but! in those moments, it def helps for me to just. pause, take a step back. take a break, write stuff that makes only me happy. or just delete twitter and tumblr off my phone for a week or two haha

💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

ooh. . . maybe shit my friends say because (1) it was my first fic in roughly a month, so when i posted it, i was kind of worried that people were no longer interested in my stories (haha, see above paragraph for my funny brain), and (2) it was one of my shorter fics? and the entire fic is told mostly through the perspectives of minor characters, and i wasn’t sure if that would really appeal to anyone? so i was so pleasantly surprised to find people enjoyed the style and the story overall :’))

🍭why did you start writing?

oh man, if we’re talking writing in general, i def started because i just always loved stories—like, as a little kid, i would scribble in scrap pieces of computer paper (and those scribbles were literally. scribbles. like, crayon and pencil squiggles) of stories that i wanted to tell. imagine my annoyance when i realized i couldn’t remember the story i was thinking of in my head from those squiggles! (and when i learned how to write, like just put together sentences, it was the only thing i was doing—and then, when i was in third grade, my dad realized that “shit, my daughter really loves writing little stories…and she doesn’t have a real notebook” so he gave me one of his old binders, filled it up with paper, and that was my first-ever notebook of stories, one that i didn’t need to like. steal extra little notebooks that they’d give to my kindergarten/first grade/second grade classes lol)

but if we’re talking writing fic, i just really, really loved the idea of adding deleted scenes, moments that could have happened but didn’t. and changing the ending of stories when i wanted them to continue. and i think, like, lol, this is def a TMI, but i was a pretty lonely kid growing up, and like! writing fic felt a bit like i was just hanging out with my friends or something. which maybe sounds a little sad, but i think that really opened up my obsession with dialogue—in that i really wanted it to feel real, not just for myself, but also, i learned as i was posting fic, for other people too? because when i started posting fic, i noticed how there were people who also just seemed to really need a distraction or escape, and i just. also really wanted to provide an escape through my stories too, if i could!

I finished Sonic Frontiers!

Copying my Twitter thoughts over here because I had a lot of thoughts!

This is gonna be a sort of general review, gameplay and experience type stuff. No spoilers (gonna make other posts for that), although I do mention the names of locations and minor combat stuff so if you’re trying to be TOTALLY without info going in, I’ll put things under a read more anyways, here we go:

My overall sensation emerging from credit roll was that, when it comes to the gameplay itself, almost every specific critique I read was fair, but the game is fun in spite of all of them, and occasionally it's SO great that it kind of resets the I-ain't-putting-up-with-this-shit meter to zero.

I struggled with the controls quite a bit but it felt like a skill issue to me, lol. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never actually played any 3D Sonic games, only watched playthroughs, so this was my very first time. I didn't notice any of the glitchy behavior others reported (like falling through the map etc) and was usually too task-focused to be bothered by the pop-in, EXCEPT on Chaos Island where it's legit hard to see what's going on due to the 2D camera lock, which was my least favourite part of the gameplay by far.

Ares Island definitely felt like the high point in pretty much every respect.  Shark Guardian was FUN AS HELL, as one example, and Ares Island also has the absolute best, coolest, dumbest, most fun Titan fight in the game.

I saw a lot of folks talking about pacing issues towards the end, which ... I didn't have a problem with like, the rate at which things occur, but there's def a bizarre halt of natural momentum at the end of Rhea Island, and I really felt like the order of the last two islands should've been swapped.

Without spoiling details, the plot point which happens at the end of Rhea Island should've happened at the end of Ouranos Island, and either you proceed right to the final boss fight OR proceed to Rhea Island at that point. But yeah, feels like the game is building a sense of urgency and then just... changes its mind lol.

Anyway.  Having said all that, the dialogue and character interactions are definitely a highlight and while I don't think you'd HAVE to be a Sonic fan to like the game, I can easily see losing patience if you're not.  The story itself never felt in-question, and there's basically zero surprises but that's ... not a bad thing? Not for me, anyway. I got exactly what I expected and am satisfied. And the music is A+++ without exception. So yeah, in a way, it feels like the game's themes of growth and improving yourself are hugely fitting for the game itself as a whole. It’s got a lot of rough edges but a huge amount of potential.  Really feels like the same experience I had with the Sonic movies, where I really loved the first one in spite of it being obviously imperfect and missing some cool opportunities. My hope is that we get to see the same arc, another game that builds on what was established here and is sort of more confident about what it wants to be.

OK, I’ll do my best. 

Noelle has exactly one way to build her for Abyss-level combat: Get her to C6 (yes), then build has a DPS. (If you’re talking in general, then you can use her as a cheap shielder/healer by just stacking DEF and ER.) 

Best weapon options are Whiteblind (craftable DEF claymore), Serpent Spine (BP claymore), and Redhorn (Itto’s weapon). 

Best artifact sets are Glad 4pc and Husk 4pc, with Husk being somewhat notably better but hellishly hard to get a good full set of. (I don’t have one lol)

Her team would generally be: 

1) Itto-style mono geo with Gorou and Albedo/Zhongli/Yun Jin in the third slot, and 4th slot as either elemental applier for shields (if necessary) or one of the previous and maaaaybe Ningguang as a sub DPS/battery. I use this team for Floor 11, though it doesn’t generally output enough for Floor 12 due to various issues with my builds and bad rotation skills.  

2) Double Geo with a second Geo (Gorou or Zhongli most likely, maybe Albedo) for the Geo resonance, and then a two character sub DPS core to provide additional damage. I’ve seen stuff like Fischl-Beidou, Fischl/Beidou-Xingqiu, double hydro, etc. I’ve never run this myself, but you can find videos of it. 

To run down the basics of how and why, Noelle converts DEF into ATK during her burst and infuses Geo. With C6, she gets additional DEF conversion on her burst, which raises her overall damage. On top of the damage and utility gains from her other cons, this makes C6 Noelle... not ideal as a DPS, but at least viable. You can then stack the general Geo buffs on her. Gorou is great for his DEF and Geo buffs, Albedo benefits from Gorou and provides extra damage, Zhongli shreds Geo with his shield and also helps keep 100% shield uptime in order to proc Geo resonance, which also shreds Geo (these are the only two sources of Geo shred in the game, so you really want them) and gives you DMG bonus... as long as you have a shield. Noelle does have shield herself, but it has only 50% uptime. 

Jean is very flexible, but it also means her specific build will depend on what you’re doing with her. In general, you’ll probably build her with 4pc Viridescent Veneer, the famous VV artifact that can shred any element the user swirls. It also increases Anemo damage and swirl damage. 

Between VV and healing, Jean is an okay choice for any non-Geo team, though she’s considered less beneficial than Kazuha, Venti and Sucrose for not having grouping and not sharing EM or whatever. 

You might ask whether to build her with full EM or ATK/DMG/Crit, and the answer is it depends. Just do whichever is easiest. (I actually, shamefully, have her on ER sands lol)

A few teams that can use her: 

Xiao battery and healing. If you don’t have Xiao, ignore this. 

Healing/shred combo for taser. You can guess how this works, since taser is very flexible in general.

You can also build Jean with Noblesse 4pc if the VV shred is not as relevant, for example in Eula teams. 

The famous Sunfire. This is when you use Bennett burst, and then put Jean burst on top of it right away. Bennett applies pyro to the onfield character, Jean applies anemo to the on field character, which causes you to swirl pyro off yourself. Since swirl is AOE, this means you can apply pyro onto enemies this way, as long as they are close to you. (You generally build Jean with EM here, but most important thing is having enough ER for your burst.) But note that it’s the most Circle Impact possible, so it doesn’t work too well against enemies that run around a whole bunch, since they’ll often end up out of range. Obviously, once you apply the pyro, you want a hydro or cryo unit to vape/melt off of it. 

Diluc is a pyro DPS, so he has the standard options: 

Vape with Xingqiu. The other two slots will be some general support options like Bennett, VV Anemo, maybe a shield. 

Melt with at least 2 cryos. I honestly can’t tell you which combinations of Cryo characters will work, since you have to consider the very specific details of their elemental application. I’ve seen Rosaria+Diona used in videos. You might be able to do Rosaria-Kaeya, if they don’t apply enough for him to melt, they’ll do the melting instead, which isn’t unworkable. Or just go Diluc’s worst nightmare of Rosaria-Kaeya-Diona lol. The last slot would generally be an Anemo VV. 

Mono pyro. This is very specifically Bennett, Xiangling, Kazuha. 

You would build him with 4pc Crimson Witch, or if you can’t get the full set, 2pc Crimson Witch/2pc 18% atk set (Gladiators, etc). The sands can be either EM or ATK. EM can be a good choice if he’s melting or vaping, for up to about 200 EM. His weapon should be something with Crit, EM or ATK substat. 

He absolutely can do Abyss even now, and I can link videos of it. The power of Pyro element can’t be underestimated. 

For fun, I’ve also seen him used as a burgeon trigger, so that’s very lol

Kaeya is a bit tough to pin down because he CAN be used in Abyss teams, but he’s generally a flex option. 

He can be a second Cryo in freeze teams, as a battery and elemental applicator. Note that Kaeya’s elemental application is fairly sparse tho. 

You can make him carry in a freeze team using Shenhe to boost his damage. Generally, you’d run him with another cryo DPS to share the damage output (Rosaria or Chongyun probably) and probably someone like Mona or Kazuha to boost the damage even more. 

He runs in reverse melt teams with Xiangling, Bennett, and Rosaria. This is the option generally mentioned if you need two 4 star teams and Xingqiu is on the other side. 

He can be Cryo in a Phys team. 

Obviously if you invest enough in his build, he can be main DPS himself, whether Cryo or Phys. I’ve seen this. But that’s kinda rough to get that level of investment, so if you want to DPS him, you probably need strong supports to buff him (ie, Shenhe, Kazuha).

Okay so this is like really long as I’m submitting another one so sorry if I’m being annoying with these long essays. Omg el, Cas, and jack would get along so amazingly!!! They would be so perfect! Jack would find another person like him and through each other they could learn that their not complete monsters. And Cas would also totally try to take on the role of being a father because he sees himself in el but he would also recognize that hopper is the one to be her dad. So he could be like a cool uncle! Also I didn’t see that dynamic as first cuz I’m stuck on the idea of el and Sam getting along! Idk if you can tell but I love Sam. And I think it would be so cool because he would see himself in el. Like they both have powers that they can’t control and yet are made to feel like monsters. And with how much el puts herself in her powers vs Sam taking a step back from his powers because he was made to feel like a complete monster with them (which still pissed at the way the characters and writers handles that). Anyways it would be soo cool!!

Omg Sam and Nancy would get along great!! They would be so amazing!! I didn’t even think of that so it would be so cool to see. Now I’m just thinking about them teaming up! The themes between the two are so great but ultimately and personally I think st has a much better execution at the themes. There’s so much different lore in spn that oftentimes it’s annoying with how they get across their messages. But overall I think you’re right and the themes do overlap a ton.

Also Mary and Karen together would be comedy gold though!! Idk I think they would be so funny while also being serious. Also loved what you said for them no further comment! :) Honestly I could see Dean and party/teen gang getting along but at the same time I feel like they would get way too frustrated with him at times. Idk I believe he has anger issues (which is what I took from the show a lot and people view shows differently so idk if that’s what you got from it) and so I think they would get annoyed with him. I thought that Sam could be a perfect fit/dynamic for them! Maybe not perfect but I think it would be so interesting. (Okay this sounds like a hate Dean but I promise I don’t. I dislike him especially in later seasons but I’m trying to go off all seasons so I think they would get along with Dean in earlier seasons but in later seasons I don’t see it at all but that’s just my thoughts so let me know what you think!) but I also think they would keep themselves at an arms length away because Dean is constantly (and Sam because these writers couldn’t pick any new material/growth to work with) flip flopping on how they see people with abilities/supernatural kind. While I don’t think he would do anything to el he would be so suspicious so I can see them keeping arms length away because they don’t have a definite read on how he reacts to el. Anyway again sorry this was so long! I just think that spn and st character’s would be so interesting if they could interact together! Like the themes and characters are so similar and yet it feels like they so different/distinct from each other! And character dynamics are so interesting to me! So if you want tell me your honest opinions on this cuz like I said I love discussing stuff like this with other people! Hopefully I didn’t sound like I was coming off as too critical/mean :)

MHA at a CON or FEST

Hi, so over the last couple day I have been going to the local Fan-con in my state and I was curious while there what some of the MHA characters would be like as panel or meet and greet guests and you as a vendor. 

Hawks- He is a fan favorite. For him I’d imagine the tickets to meet him would sell out almost immediately and if someone was lucky to catch one late, it would likely be from a peddler outside the stadium. He is so good with his fans very professional in his hero costume, taking pictures and signing things. (he kind of has to be.) As sort of a subliminal messaging thing, he’d keep some of your merch just strewn on his table, like it was just left there and would send feathers to you periodically throughout the day to let you know he’s thinking about you, or has some major tea about a crazed fan. You’ll know which depending on the frantic-ness of the delivery. 

Mirkou- She is so unashamed about her nerdiness. You cannot convince me you two don’t ren and, "women with swords" is her aesthetic. So don’t expect her in her hero costume. Not the one she actually works in at least. Her meet and greet costume is a modified knight-core version with chainmail and leather. She had a special bit of her armor etched with a little symbol of your two’s design. like a crest of your love... lol... nerds.... Preferably she can see your table from where she is, so she can point you out as her (royal title). “for I am their knight, and they are my Queen/King” is what she says all Stokely. Don’t expect to much professionalism from her, she’s too excited.  

Aizawa- How TF someone got him to do a meet and greet is beyond me, but he’s not happy about it. Its too loud, too crowded and he’s often asking himself why this big of an event is important to hero work and if its safe to have so many heroes in one place. (its a pretty big target.) But he’s amiable enough. He does it mostly because some of his students are there and so are you. At first he’s rather fitful, but when a little kid hands him a picture of a kitten drawn by them he softens. Its a complete coincidence he became the children's favorite. Parents wondering why their child chose a homely gremlin over Hawks. When he has any time free he’s watching you wow people with your own products just in awe of your passion, but behind that is a small excitement building for the epic sleep that yall are having tonight after such an involved day. 

Bakugou- You cannot convince me he isn’t into this. For a couple reasons. One he gets to show off a little bit. I feel like the Bakugou that would get big enough to have a meet and greet is not the “I’m better than everyone,” guy we’re used to, but he does like the idea of seeing what kinds of people flock to him. It’s def not what he expected. Book nerds, and introverts. If you’d have told him that was his fan base, he’d have laughed in your face, but now that he’s seeing it with his own eyes the pieces start to click. its very “every Hufflepuff needs a Slytherin” vibe. (though I don’t think Bakugou is a Slytherin, different post different time.) He actually begins to enjoy the time. Its not as loud as the other panels despite the doubled mass at his stand. When he has any time away from the greet table he’s with you, checking out the food truck district. of course their is a radius so he’s not swarmed, but he does tip the staff really really well.

Midoryia- Despite going to so many cons for Allmight stuff when faced with his own booth, and seeing his own fan art, Midoryia becomes very, very overwhelmed. This results in a lot of check ins with you and sloppy smiled pictures. It’s not that he tries to be awkward, but people constantly telling him how much they love him makes him wonder if he ever became so overbearing to his mentor. After a while you make some arrangements to move your booth into veiw of his and after that, his demeanor completely changes. Not having to stare at the art booth with only his face in various mediums staring back at him, but you with your passion sprawled out across a table and your friendly smile. It gives him courage to relax a little. Overall he’ll only do those kinds of events if you are there. If you’re not public with your relationship, how long will it take the public to realize you’re always so close?

Ochako- Baby girl is eating it up! Not because of the crowd per say, but because of the smiles. She’s had to use her quirk to save lives so many times, I could see her floating peoples hair and floating up to make funny faces behind people in photos. Her and some of the other hero's decided to get in on a corner of the meet and greets together so they can interact with fans together. (photobombing each others pics and such.) When she has the time she’ll sneak off to you with a churro in each hand with a social battery check in and a mandatory water check. If you’re feeling drained she’ll ask one of her assistants to watch your booth while she floats you both somewhere to watch the crowd from above.  

Mina- She is too hype for the occasion. Her and Ochako def got a space near each other. She goes above and beyond for her fans, decorating her whole booth in flower vines and twinkle lights. she did it for the gram for sure. She is great with her people and loves to ask them actual questions when they meet her. “how are you really babydoll?”, “tell me about your day.” and is the queen of complements. when she’s on break she’s with you hyping up your booth to anyone within hearing distance. “hey! have you all seen how amazing my love is?!” she def is out here to do the most in the best way.

Kirishima- Baby boy is nervous. He’ll never admit it if not forced, but he’s never been to an event like this, as a guest or greeter and the sheer magnitude of it all is.. daunting. It isn’t until he sits down and actually people watches the line of fans ready to meet him does he calm down. specifically a little boy with foam hands of his signature fist to fist in hardened mode. (Like the Thanos gauntlet you can buy at walmart) The kid was so excited to meet his favorite “shark” and it was that day that Kiri saw how far that comparison (him to a shark) actually went. He overall realizes his fan base is mostly made up of people like him. People who didn’t feel like they had the right bits in their bones to fit into society. He loved being that oddball for them. At lunch he sneaks away with you to eat junky foods hidden in an empty stage room or somewhere secluded. He’s got so many stories about so many cool people and keeps a copy of the pictures of his favorite fans for himself. to remind him why he does what he does.

Do you have more sensible thoughts on the “love triangle” news? I was pretty mad initially, however, I think it won’t ultimately be that big of a deal…I am more bummed that the book dynamic of Anthony and Edwina being comically indifferent to each other isn’t happening than I am worried the sisters will be “fighting” over him. I also saw some (naive and futile lol) speculation that Edwina is gay after all but she convinces herself she’s in love with Anthony because she should be…we can dream

I do have some new thoughts but they might not be in the same lane as the general discussion about this.

Most of it has to do with theme, arcs, and about the higher ups that make decisions.

I think the easiest place to start is Edwina. From what we’ve heard she’s super optimistic, sees the best in ppl, doesn’t speak up for herself. She’s a romantic and wants a love match and can be a bit wild.

We know she’ll be taken advantage of by the queen and by Anthony bc of these traits, and the betrayal will probably ultimately lead her to make impulsive and stupid decisions. But with all of this, her arc just sounds like a lot. Meaning they have time to focus on this thing with Anthony, this thing with the Queen involving gossip and LW, make her have a fulfilling “soulmates” relationship with Kate and eventually end up happy with someone/no one. It’s a lot for our little side character and we all know (and they’ve made it very clear) that this isn’t the Edwina show so either these subplots will overlap (Maybe the queen meddles in the courtship to cause drama to trap LW?? Who knows) or some of it is getting less screen time than the other. All this being said I think it’s great that Edwina has depth, but I don’t like short selling her with the naivety. Why can’t our diamond be more aware of the world around her? Overall this doesn’t upset me much I just wonder about how they’ll present it all!

I too am feebly clowning around hoping for an Edwina comp-het-hey-wait-let-me-kiss-this-girl-arc. Which really brings me to another point:

If we have genuinely this many NEW characters in addition to a huge principal cast and still have no queer characters???The higher ups can just like. Fuck way the hell off. Especially when, to put it poorly, it would be a great subject to mine for the show. They’d get their diversity clout, we’d get a love story. But moving on.

I think most of the article was great but there was one part that got a little lost in translation for me: the head/heart dichotomy EW was really driving home. I think most people would agree you need both in your relationship to even have a fighting chance to be successful. The stuff on how one sister represents each of them was just so pedestrian and vaguely demeaning to the characters and the audience. BUT I’m also sure the show wont be condemning duty, just critiquing societal expectation and Anthony’s fucked up head.

I also def think the head and heart will “align” so to speak in the end for Kathony, so maybe my problem is with EW and the talking points. whatever.

Last thing I’ll say is that I like that they’ll show things Edwina and Anthony have in common. It’s not romantic to understand someone else’s situation and sympathize. It’s a good idea to add something to that relationship beyond comical indifference. In-law relationships are great and it’s great to love them for more than just your sibling! Anthony and Edwina deserve that. Built-in homie, basically. There are other ways to to preserve the comedic tone of the book without details like that, that was very clear with that one group photo we got.

his memory is not great but it's kinda cute

you, being the smart cookie that u are, realized the best way to help him memorize things was to study with flashcards frequently throughout the weekend while doing other activities

so you plan to hang out together and do something fun every week while having your study material on index cards in your back pockets

Hi dear! I've seen you didn't talk much about Sadistic Beauty these days... What are your thoughts on ending and two side stories? Especially Wookying and Minho's one? Tbh I'm disappointed and disturbed :(

i had to step out of this story bc it was leaving me frustrated, irritated and disappointed not to mention very confused LOL. yep, im still fairly disappointed with where the author went with this. a major conflict that should or could have been in the main story was the whole drama including wookyung fighting with doona to get minho but it was swept under the rug only to return as some after thought as a side story (probably excluding doona).  there was such a great opportunity to finish it in the main story but the author decided that minho had to suffer all of the consequences and everyone else is going scot-free LOL. truly a shame. i wasnt surprised that doona was ending up with haesol, never was into them, still not into them. i have a certain distaste for characters like haesol, he’d be best described as a simp. and i absolutely loathe simps lol. there’s a fine line with being there for someone and being there in hopes that smth more might change, he def wants to date doona and saying that he’s okay with how things are and if they don’t date, is basically a blatant lie to himself. if that was the case, he wouldn’t let her string him along and use him for sex. the feelings he has for her will just be kept in the back, but it will most likely resurface in some way or another. in the long run, it’d hurt him and that’s just not worth the hassle. obv since the writer wanted them to happen, he’s prob gonna get what he wants lol. i def found the whole rivalry btw donna and wookyung in order to get to minho way more fascinating, and wished it was explored more. now, the only thing im happy with is gyerin is probably getting her happy ending with the new girl. she’s also the only one who went “fuck this” once she saw doona wasn’t going to reciprocate her feelings, and im rlly glad she did that. at first, i didnt think much of her, but now, seeing how the story went (lmao), im all for gyerin being happy. and as for wookyung and minho, im interested in how their story will unfold. but i feel so so bad for minho, he was a jerk and an asshole i wont deny that, but he didnt deserve all of the hate and harm he got and still is receiving according to the side story preview. wookyung is still a great and fascinating character, i do like characters like him, but how he was used was just not satisfying. and it seems like there might be a case of stockholm syndrome coming up where he might fall for wookyung. i just wish doona had smth to do with it before she parted ways or she could have helped minho, but yeah. *shrugs* this story left me confused as to what the author is doing, there is wasted potential and opportunities at every corner. the plot goes one way then goes another to end on a weird note. i also think the whole gl, bl stuff was more of a fanservice thing and that’s probably why it’s more of a disjointed story? as in, i feel like the gl and bl stuff should either have been more of a focus and woven into the story or it should have been entirely separate so the author wouldn’t have to shove many things at once and just focus on one or two pairing. one thing i might add for the story is that it felt as if it was trying to make us surprised, but the so called “twists” that happened just made it more confusing and those probably shouldn’t have been there as they don’t add much to the story narrative. back to gyerin, you can see that gyerin and the new girl can have their own separate story from the start (she didn’t have much to do with the primary conflict and could easily have a flashback to doona instead of the whole fanservice lol). the same goes for wookyung and minho as well, and it’d have been perfectly fine. at the end you basically see three pairings, the m/f, the f/f and the m/m. however, we dont even know if minho is into men? so i’m not sure how’s that gonna be considered BL? then again, every pairing could have been in the main story, but it’s not? for some reason??? it feels as if the author wanted their pairings without putting in the effort of making it into the main story, hence the side stories or they just wanted to make it separated without putting too many characters in it. obviously, for wookyung and minho, there’s no way doona wouldn’t have done smth if it was fully explored in the main story, and it might have changed the ending too. there’s multiple ways the story could have gone, but this one was the only conflict that was much more interesting imo, but it wasnt used that much.

gyerin didn’t really have much to do there other than be lesbian fanservice for doona (and the audience, writer and maybe the artist too?), and to be some kind of support for haesol. that’s about it, so i can understand why she’d not have a full blown romance in the main story, but seeing that she keeps reappearing, she still could have her side story integrated into it. lmao i don’t even kno if doona is bi/pan lol or if she just had sex bc she was drunk then did it just for pleasure without being interested in women at all.

EDIT: iirc doona did get aroused seeing gyerin uh doing stuff, so it could be possible that she is interested in women, but maybe only sexually? although i still could be wrong lol and it could just have been a moment of “I’m straight, but horny and u’ll do for now”. she could be in the closet too, who knows.

overall, sadistic beauty had some interesting conflict, some good characters (ill never like haesol lol), good art and the storytelling by this artist is well paced, but the execution and where the story went leaves a sour taste in my mouth. would i recommend this story? absolutely not. it is so frustrating, and for what? i wish i had saved myself this headache from the very start but the art and the fact that doona was a dom was what reeled me in. i only came back to it to see if the writer redeemed their story in some ways, but... well... you saw how that went.  i would follow the artist if i could, their art is beautiful. however, i cannot say the same for the writer. from my exp, it seems that many webtoons have good art, but the writing definitely leaves way more room for improvement. that said, i do hope ppl will learn that in order to make a great comic/webtoon/manga and so on, it is not only about pretty drawings. the story and writing should be up to par with the art. if not, it should be at least close to it. because the art might attract people, but if the story doesn’t resonate, if it doesn’t make much sense, then ppl are bound to leave and drop it. and what is a story, but pretty pictures and nothing substantial in it? nothing, but superficial beauty.

1. which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely? oooo that's a hard one! ig if we're talking about my posted fics (since i'm doing just that with some of my unposted fics lol) maybe roll the window down (let the air blown 'round you)? not because i think it's a bad fic or anything, i'm actually rather proud of it as a drabble, but i think it would be fun to take that from a little snapshot of a moment and expand upon it into a full length fic.

2. anything you'd like to write but feel unable to? i talked about one concept here, but another thing i'd love to write that i'm currently unable to write but am determined to get there eventually is my hotel california songfic concept. it will happen someday or i will cry but it'd be long and have a lot of moving pieces plus the plot is hard to puzzle out so overall it's just. not at my level atm. but i promise when i do finally become good enough to write it it'll knock everyone's socks off

20. do you work on a single project or many projects at a time? how does that work for you? i am currently working on well over thirty wips (it's grown significantly since the last time i counted so we could be around 40) and those are only the ones i'm *actively* working on so. yeah def many projects lol. it both works very well and not so well in that it's great bc no matter what mood i'm in to write a specific kind of vibe i have a wip ready and waiting to be expanded, but it also means it takes me even longer to finish things so. bit of a give and take thing going on lol.

21. can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? if you can, what’s your secret? answered here, but i didn't really go into the second part of the question so i'll touch on that! i can estimate shorter fics lengths largely because i tailor the idea to fit that word count (even if it's longer & less specific than a drabble/555 fic). generally this means the fic will take place over a short period of time with only one or two locations and with little need for exposition, as well as being okay with the reader only seeing a specific fragment of the character's/story's arc!

28. any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing? be kind to yourself and keep writing! writing is hard, and anyone who tells you differently is lying. but it's also a skill that can be honed over time as long as you practice it. if you let your insecurities hold you back then you will not get better at writing! so write something terrible! write something so bad you want to set it on fire and then write something worse! everything you write is part of the learning experience, even if you can't see it right away! and when you finish something or see a great line that you wrote, stop and say "hey! i did that! look at me!" because you deserve some love for your writing and there's no guarantee other people will give that to you! so you gotta give it to yourself first and foremost! if there's a writer whose style you want to emulate but don't know how, slow down when reading their stuff and look for the mechanics of the story! how do they make you feel this way? what about that line you loved makes it good? then take all that new knowledge and apply it to your own writing! after you've been writing for a few months/years, open up a word doc just to hype up how awesome you are and describe you overcoming writing obstacles like you're an action hero and then save it to read back on a bad writing day! don't be afraid to look your writing flaws in the eye! never delete anything permanently, you never know when you might want to look back on it/frankenstein it into something new!!

(i'm referring to my own action hero writer doc for this one lol) i like that i'm able to tackle a lot of different kinds of stories and themes! you can call my writing many things but one-trick-pony is never one of them lol. also i love how i've grown and am still growing even though writing is very hard for me!

38. “this never happened” fix-it fics or “this happened but” fix-it fics? "this happened but" fix-it fics! in terms of writing, i like the challenge of having to wrestle around the flaws in canon so as to still create the story i want out of it! it's a lot harder to do imo *presses cheek against the glass of my percy weasley character breakdown that's been incomplete for several years and sighs* but it can be worth it in the end!

Question: What inspired you to make this comic/these characters?

TL;DR: MY LOVE OF OCS, HISTORY, AND BL DRAMA.

LONG VERSION: okay it really is kinda hard to pin any specific inspiration other than i just really like OCs and historical fiction and this character dynamic, but i feel like i get this question and similar ones a lot SO I'M JUST GONNA REALLY DIG INTO IT THIS TIME, give as thorough of an answer as i can.

so in 2009, i played ragnarok online. A LOT. i played with my friend jenny (who is the comic co-writer) and we would make dumb characters and then get super attached to them. she made an airship pirate sniper named cicada, and i made a posh politician wizard named gladimir. they looked like this:

my goal in designing glad was to make him the prettiest OC i had. most of my OCs are like... lanky old men and quirky ugly dudes, but glad was going to be GORGEOUS. and thus i made him to my taste, the prettiest boy i could manage. i'm just really into twinky pretty boys with bobs, so i guess you could call them my inspiration. here's some OG 2009 gladios:

they're a dime a dozen in mainstream media now, see lio fotia, yuri plisetsky, shion kiba, that fairy prince from FGO... but glad predates them all, i was just following my heart LOL. characters like xellos from slayers or garma from gundam may have played a subconscious inspo role, but i only realized this in hindsight years later. tho weirdly enough they're both purple:

anyway, jenny and i RPed a lot; having a friend to RP and be invested in OCs with you is always hugely invaluable inspiration for anything, i think! eventually our ragnarok online story kinda hit a dead end and got dropped for a while, until we picked it up again in 2015, and started exploring... ALTERNATE UNIVERSES. and the AU of "what if glad was a prince" just fucking TOOK OFF. insert old 2015 first doodle here:

it gave me the idea for the golden trial in the comic, which served as the base for a whole new world of RP and plot building. IN FACT i would say that music in general became a huge point of inspiration, specifically french music due to the nature of glad's made up country being some french/english hybrid. so on that note, let me link you some more inspiration songs:

the inspo for the overall aesthetic of the characters just comes purely from history and historical fiction vibes that i like. royal european clothing and the age of sail are hot. i think there's some subconscious inspiration from utena and gundam as well:

and inspo for the overall story i cant attribute to anything specific other than my friend’s interest, love for BL comics, and glad and cicada's character tropes. i love a classic brain & brawn duo, i love a short king with top energy, i love a heart of gold rowdy boy, and i love when you think two characters are completely opposite and then they turn out to be actually pretty similar. i don't know of any media that specifically fed me these vibes within the time frame we were making this story, but i will say that when promare came out it was PRETTY DAMN GREAT. here's glad dressed as lio because image breaks:

lastly, what inspired me to actually make the comic: memento mori. like many people, i just sit on my flat ass making stories with my friends that will never be shared outside of that friend group, and for the most part i am 100% perfectly okay with this! but deep down i just knew i wanted to actually make a comic... i wanted to be able to look back on my life and say HEY, YOU DID IT, YOU MADE A THING. i'm a story lover, i'm a story teller, and i just needed to finally indulge in this in a more tangible way. dead men tell no tales.

i was in my 30s when i started drawing the comic. it's never too late to start. >:9 start yours today.
