I found your stuff through your humorous Boromir comics (man those make me laugh, I've shared them with several people) and then when you mentioned you were an author I got excited, and then when you mentioned which of your books you liked best I got even more excited! So I read through Sunshield and now I am reading Floodpath, and I want to say, I really really enjoy your books and writing and I hope you write (and enjoy writing!) a lot more! I have limited time these days but I look forward to when I can enjoy some more of your stories. And please don't hesitate to tell people about the books you have written too! Hello, AHIT fans, I happen to be one of the people who's spamming the tag on AO3, so it's time I appear here to post some art and au stuff here as well.

I've been making a swap au!! Because I can. And I thought too much about how Conductor and Empress are alike, sooo... My friend @legallymean and I have been making some stuff for it in the background! Can't wait to show you guys everything we've come up with.

To start off with... Here's Bandit, aka Swap!Conductor!

From before most people's memories, this outlaw's been swiping things and fighting people without any remorse. He's known for keeping most everything to himself in a little desert house near a speakeasy he runs, but he does seem to have some sort of plan with the things he's stolen. He trusts few, and respects even fewer. Though he has a gun on his hip, he prefers his knives, and most frequently brings them out against CAW, who has been trying to catch him for many years. (Of course, that's not working too well-- It's been decades, and Dead Bird Junction is still running under the thumb of the Bandit, even now...)

Grooves seems to resent him, refusing to discuss the topic of the Bandit; while Stationmaster is friendly with him, even including him in a few of his movies as a stunt owl and villain, though no one knows what she had to pay him for that... That, and what he's really up to with all those stolen things.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

I think he'll try his hardest to make you laugh. It won't always land but him always trying will usually do the trick.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

I think he might be a little bit flaky, but he'll come through and surprise you when it matters most. The friendship would start when the two of you meet in Queen Sorsha's jail. You're in for stealing art, and he's basically a grave robber. It's a match made in hell.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

I think he's pretty much the little spoon. Like, if you've got a fuller figure, he will absolutely treat you like a pillow. Very much into having his head on your chest while you mess with his hair.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

I think he'd like to settle down. It's a vague goal that he never thought he'd get a real shot at, but he'd want to. I don't think he's great at cooking and cleaning, but he can learn, he's smart.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He doesn't strike me as the type that would. I feel like he'd just skip town, because he's got a 'outlaw-bandit-asshole' reputation to maintain.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

I think he kinda forgets marriage is a thing. Like the two of you will be hanging out and he just remembers there are steps one can take to for it to be like this forever. I'm sure he'll have some anxiety attached to commitment but, he'll get over it.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He can and will surprise you. He looks rough but he never quite acts like it. Intimacy between the two of you is basically him throwing himself at your feet saying "do what you want!"

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

It's not like Boorman doesn't like hugs, he's just not really used to them. You'll have to initiate, and it will be weird for a moment, but he'll totally wrap himself around you like a scarf.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He'll say it fairly fast, but it's gonna make him break out in hives.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

I feel like he pouts when he's jealous. It's rare that he does get jealous, but he clams up and plays with his hands until you notice.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are kinda warm and soft. He likes it when you grab him and manhandle him, so feel free to kiss him wherever you feel like. As for you, he's a big fan of kissing your nose.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He thinks their weird but he doesn't hate them. It takes him a minute to connect, but once he does, it's literally fine. It's like a person, only small.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

I feel like Thraxus doesn't fully wake up until like 11am. I think that's as early as you'll ever get him up, when he's not working on a project. He'll probably be a baby about it too, even if you know full well that Elora has been up since 5am baking and she's about to take her midday nap.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

He is a creature (read: creecher) of the night. The two of you are pretty social and will be out at the alehouses/ bonfires until late. He's fun and affectionate, and if you're even slightly shorter than him, he will be having his arms around your waist saying stuff like "pocket sized"

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Mr. Man will die before he reveals more than the basics about himself. It's okay though, you see who he is with how he behaves and how he treats others. But man, mans is a locked vault.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

I feel like he tends to have a delayed reaction before he gets mad. He'll have to think about it for a few minutes, and then come back with an attitude.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He lives for picking up on details about you. I think you have to be on the observant side to be a "treasure hunter", but he won't let you know he knows about your strawberry allergy until about a year into the friendship.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Their favorite moment was when you and the gang were crashing with some local farmers in exchange for farm work, and Thraxus was put on wood chopping duty. He didn't mean for it to be so hot out, so he takes his shirt off to chop.

He notices you watching a little while later, and stops, making eye contact. You attempt to flee, distracted, you full walk face first into a closed door.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Boorman is pretty protective, he's definitely the type to put you behind him if there's ever a face off with thugs/bandits, etc. He doesn't want you to protect him! Ever! Don't risk your safety for him!! He's fine!

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He'll surprise you. Even if it's small, like one (1) candle and a bit of candy he knows you like, he'll make it happen.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He doesn't brush his hair, straight up. You joke all you want, but he was definitely the kid who didn't want to take a bath. He does now, as an adult, but the hair is always missed.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Meh. He knows he's handsome, so as long as his face is fine, the rest will follow.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He wouldn't. This wouldn't mean he doesn't miss you, but he's a full grown, fully developed person, who wants to be with you. On purpose.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Thraxus, as we know, likes his jewelry, but when you make a habit of getting him jewelry for special occasions, you don't know how much it means to him. You have to plan accordingly though because he will wear all of it, at once.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

I feel like any selfishness or cattiness doesn't translate very well to him. He may be a thief, but he still manages to treat people well. Act like an adult, and all will be well.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Boorman strikes me as a sleep-talker, as well as an active sleeper. All you have to do is poke him until he stirs and calms down from the conversation in his dream.

how are u doing? how's the winter break?

cam!!!!!!! hello! i've been okay (lol, i announced coming back from my hiatus and then just,,,, didn't for like two weeks, i'm a mess asdfghjhgfd) and i had a pretty good winter break! i went to hang out with my cousin and i had a lot of fun! other than that i cooked and baked a lot - i got a crock pot for christmas and am a Changed Woman. the ease of the crock pot,,,,,, not to sound like a middle aged woman but ohmygod,,,,,,,, i have been forever changed.

i also (!!!!!!) caught up on a lot of webtoons during my break, and since you're my webtoon mutual, i feel as though i must tell you about all of them:

red hood: outlaws is fun, but honestly, i'd probably like it more as a binge read, i don't feel like there's enough plot and engaging cliff hangers for me to get Really Into It.

seven years later is!!!!!! so interesting!!!!!!!!!! i definitely recommend reading it - while it's not the flashiest it has an engaging premise that delivers as it should <3

marry my husband is actually one of my unexpected favorites!!!! idk what it is about this plot line but i am hooked, line, and sinker and can't wait for the slowburn romance <3

i'm the queen in this life is SO!!!!! BALLER!!!!!!! this plot line is going so hard and for what??? for me to go feral over it??? while i'm not In Love with any of the characters, the plot is so engaging that i can't wait to see what happens next.

twilight poem is actually a really interesting read - the art is magnificent and the plot is engaging and while i want to scream at 89% of the characters a solid 96% of the time, i am really enjoying my time here.

there must be happy endings was one that i originally read because i just wanted an absolute 180 from what i had been reading at the time (lookism, asdfghjhgfd) but it's actually grown on me quite a lot <3

dark moon: the blood altar is actually one i have to catch up on (listen, i'm only like,,,, 5 episodes behind, this isn't a lookism asdghjhgfd) and for what it is, i'm enjoying it. i really just think the art is soooo endearing and i am a sucker for ensemble casts.

threads of love is another good one! i'm not exactly rooting for any of the relationships going on (JUSTICE FOR THE GYM TEACHER THO), but i like the whole ~past lives~ plot line, and i just want to know more about the prophetic dreams asdfghjhgfd.

harmonia is a webtoon i just started (and by that i mean i'm literally on episode 6 of 31 asdfghjhgfds) BUT!!!!!! I AM SO INTERESTED IN THIS SERIES WOW I WANT TO DEVOUR IT WHOLE. perhaps give it like 2 or 3 episodes to pick up (or maybe 6 asdfghhgfd idk your taste) but!!!!! i think this one will deliver.

i'm dating a psychopath is another interesting read that is so engaging, but idk who to trust and who to root for, i am simply here for the ride, waiting to become psychologically thrilled and eventually damaged beyond repair asdfghgfd.

and then how can i forget lookism!!!!!!!! i am not,,,,,, how do you say,,,,,, caught up (cries in episode 290 of 421) but i would absolutely DIE for this webtoon, bestie wAHT is happening, in the most affectionate and messy way <3 absolutely reeling from this.

They would definitely do well with a Robin Hood type of theme! They also had all the typical themes in the rest of the album and MV so I'm not sure why they didn't carry it into the lyrics :/

Yeosang is an absolute legend yesss - he only got a few iconic lines in early albums like Hala Hala (the harmonic part before the choreo is soo satisfying) and Say My Name, but he also opens Illusion and gets some nice harmonies with Seonghwa in Mist (where the chorus was sung by Wooyoung ooooh - a rarity).

Later on, he got more lines in songs like Horizon (underrated) and some of the most iconic lines in The Leaders (also underrated). Dreamers also has quite a lot of him (a Japanese comeback). Deja Vu was, I think, the first big comeback where they began utilizing his deeper register as a way to break up the flow of a song and transition into another part. Turbulence, Be With You, and the Letter have his more melodious register - all from the same album.

In The World series he started getting more and more lines with each release. He opens the entire series with his lines in Sector 1 and gets some of the cuntiest moments in Cyberpunk and some powerful lines in The Ring (a personal favorite). In the Japenese comeback, Paradigm, he also gets some of the most iconic lines.

Queen Halazia was definitely a HUGE step forward for him as a vocalist, followed by Limitless, and fucking DUNE - that song slaps so hard and they really, really made use of his deep register to make the song sound cult-y as hell. He also got a good chunk of the lines in Outlaw (slay).

The Will album also really highlights him in songs like Silver Light (he got to use a wide variety of tones and vocal colors) and of course IT's You (a unit song with San and Wooyoung). Most recently, he also a lot of lines in Not Okay (another Japanese comeback).

And yes, Hongjoong's styling was A-tier. On par with Wooyoung's knee-length skirt in Birthday haha

But yes, I do feel you about the recent comebacks! As an artsy person myself though, I also interact and follow a lot of small time musicians and artists in general and that has changed how I view art in a lot of ways. I struggle to be critical of when an artist makes a change they seem happy with because, ultimately, they should be doing what brings them the most joy and if that doesn't align with my tastes, that's okay to me, especially in K-Pop where they have so many comebacks and their entire lives revolve around their careers to the point where they have next to no free time.

Just recently, I really didn't like the NCT Dream comeback that much but three songs on that album slap so damn hard to me that I know they'll have another title track in the future that I'll love, so I keep an eye on them and I keep supporting them as much as a broke-ass person like me can haha

Unfortunately though, there are also artists like Itzy and Stray Kids who changed their styles so hard and kept putting out stuff I don't enjoy until I stopped listening to them entirely. But even then, I can't bring myself to criticize anything online because I feel like the fans who still love their stuff might see it and it might make them feel bad and I don't really want to spread negativity when the world is already in shambles and people are searching for an escape online.

But either way, I'm getting waaay off topic again so: YES Xikers, their last comeback was amazing to me. I hope you'll enjoy it too! :D

I like don't really go here, but this is what pisses me off about Ateez. They are SO talented. Like so uniquely talented even. And yet they waste it on this generic hip-pop production and (frankly) goofy choreography.

You got like five of them on the team with these Evanescence-ass voices. Jongho - unparalled. I hear at least one of them can scream like a motherfucker. And Mingi is not like, my favorite rapper, but I could listen to Hongjoong's flow all day and anyway both of them are at their best at their most theatrical.

WHERE is our metal record? Where is the rock album? Why are they acting like they don't know about Aerosmith/Run DMC? Or Outkast?

This is what we get? Ice On My Teeth? And don't get me wrong, the song is good. But. Anyone could do this. It could be an NCT song. You expect me to believe that after Guerilla and Halazia and whatever, that this is what y'all care about as artists? Grills? That's what your band is about? I simply don't believe you. Guys thank you so much for the 1000 followers! I really appreciate that someone likes my posts or what I reblog. It's also passed almos two years since I opened the blog for the first time (not hoping that someone was gonna care that much about what I shared actually) and here we are.

OK, but

I don't talk about previous Fandom I was a part of, but there's been a few. In the past, I've watched several of the books/TV shows go through the cycle of fan fiction and I'm beginning to see the dawn of my favorite types of fan fiction.

Sure, there will always be canon compliant, canonical, and Canon redux fics, a long with tamer fluff pieces and the standard smut...

But my dear friends, we have entered the precipice of the 'Canceled Show Crossovers and Creatuves' fic part of the cycle.

In every Fandom I have been in, this period includes multiple crossovers, darker fics that burn the Canon with glee, dark fics in general, and my favorite: The Gamut.

The Gamut is everything and anything that hasn't been written in this Fandom. It's tentacles, and space travel, and time jumps, and warp speed, and creatures, and kinks galore, and thread unraveling from canonical tapestry (IE: What if Liam wasn't born?) and crack fics and pushing your limits as a writer on what makes you/ya friends/readers/fans uncomfortable or turns out you find more niche crowds that say,

"Write that weird bby, let ya freak flag fly."

I'm ready. After this period settles, generally, so does the Fandom. So. Enjoy this. Celebrate creators and creation even if it's esoteric and out of your wheelhouse. Push yourself to write whatever WIP you have going. Give others praise for writing, and ask if they need to bounce ideas because only 'XYZ' is what you can't handle.

This may be the end of the audience for your works, and even then, it's shrinking every day.

Enjoy the time you have left.

Hello, new fan here, and while I ADORE all of Seafine's outfits, I can't help but wonder how common was it for women of the 1920's to be wearing pants and jackets like that? Anyway, I hope you're doing well and the animated short is coming along well as well. Your art is seriously breathtaking <3

Hey, that's very kind. Thank you! About Serafine's wardrobe... It wasn't conventional - most women wore dresses or skirts most of the time, as they were expected to - but it wasn't especially uncommon in the 1920s either. "Comme des Garçons" was part of the fashion philosophy of the era of bobbed hair and straight-line, curve-minimizing fabric cuts, after all. It's perhaps not all that surprising that pants and slacks were starting to edge their way into the women's fashion milieu as well.

By the early 20s, knickers and knee-high socks were pretty well accepted as sportswear for women. Later in the decade, loose, wide-legged 'pajama pants' were popular too. Initially they functioned as beach or lounge-wear, but it's probably a fair bet they influenced the rise of women's pant suits in the 30s and 40s.

...And then there was the gender non-conformity.

In the entertainment arena, it was quite trendy, traversing popular vaudeville acts into stage and cinema. Pick any well known actress or performer of the time and chances are you can find a photo shoot of them in a tweed suit, a tux, or Oxford bags and suspenders. Pictured here are Ethel Waters, Josphine Baker, Nella Regini, and Marlene Dietrich, who was the reigning queen/king of the masculine look in Hollywood. She wore it consistently across her career, and by all accounts it ran deeper than just publicity and performance.

There are tales of Dietrich being arrested in Paris for wearing men's clothes in the early 1930s, but that never actually happened. There was an ordinance at the time prohibiting women from dressing like men, and though she may have been (teasingly) threatened with it, it seems no one wanted to come out looking like Boo-boo the Fool trying to prosecute this level of celebrity.

That said, not everyone had blanket social freedom to skirt the law (heh) or to dress out of step with expectations. People from most walks of life risked a lot more than the A-list rich and famous. And what might have been celebrated on stage and in clubs amidst the "Pansy Craze" of that time was not generally regarded with esteem extending outside of those venues. Gladys Bently (pictured in the white tux below) was a very popular singer and pianist in 1920s Harlem speakeasies. She dressed in men's clothes and openly courted women before, during and after the peak of her career, but some decades later presented as more traditionally feminine, declaring herself 'cured'. It's probably worth noting, though, that leading up to this, Bentley was routinely harassed, closed out of performance spots she'd been a star at during Prohibition, and unlike Dietrich, did actually face fines and legal challenges to dressing in men's clothes. And then there was the McCarthy era.

As for Serafine, well, the fact that she's fictional certainly plays some part, but to give it some contextual logic - she's already rather far removed from common practice, what with her unashamed outlaw lifestyle. She's less concerned with conforming to normative social rules than the speakeasy scene she inhabits, and since her reputation precedes her, she doesn't seem to encounter a lot of people willing to risk hassling her about it. So, I suppose as long as she maintains enough underworld clout to afford a good tailor, she'll dress how she likes.
