I think there's a very real argument to be made that the baby part of Franco's sexual dysfunction was likely a result of his relationship with Angelina. She was his first actual partner -- all the working girls before her were killed because he couldn't perform and had to compensate with his shotgun.

Have you seen the new update for the outlast trials????? How do you feel?

A buncha assholes swooped in last second and took my first place speedrun times and then, because I didn't have power, I couldn't beat them before the update so that's a little sad. BUT I'm a HUGE fan of the new gameplay/trials. Having the gauntlet mode is a blast, that was a fantastic addition. The Docks map is phenomenal, I get lost so easily but it's great fun. The new rig is garbage but if you're not running stun you're getting played anyway so ehhh.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Franco. On the one hand, I don't see him as being charismatic in the way that Coyle and Gooseberry are and I find the whole baby thing to be too silly, but I also really enjoy his voice and mechanics. If it were up to me, I make a Prime Asset like Trager from the first game or maybe even Val from the second, somebody who's kooky but it makes sense to call them charismatic.

Overall though it doesn't matter, nobody matters other than Easterman. I am in love with this man. He is pathetic, egotistical, paranoid, balding, sexually unsatisfied, pretentious, sadistic, suicidal, insecure, has severe mommy and daddy issues and overall just an insufferable prick and I'm completely head over heels in love with him. His dialogue wiki's section on unused/datamined voice lines is a treasure trove, I'm hoping that a lot of them get implemented because they reveal a lot about him. I love the new documents, he's losing it so bad.

Going live to practice speedrunning Outlast, and playing around with a couple mods. Id say about an hour (aiming for less) so follow me on twitch for notifs, or you can watch the VODs for up to 5 days before they’re deleted. I may start uploading them to an unlisted playlist on YT so ppl can watch forever, but if you follow me you’ll get me one step closer to Twitch Affiliate and my VODs can be saved for longer! Outlast

Outlast is a horror game that uses the first person perspective to simulate putting up a night vision camera and looking through it. This leads to terrifying scenarios where it is so dark you cannot see without it, but also know that every second you use the camera, the battery is slowly draining.

This is a very interesting way to use the first person perspective. I think the focus on darkness made the game infinitely more scary than it would've been. The first person perspective made it so that you never knew what was behind each corner or door until you are there.

The fact that you cannot fight back against your foes in this game makes it significantly more scary than other horror games in my opinion. No guns, punching or knives, instead all you can do is hide from the threats, and run when they find you. This design makes you feel almost helpless when surrounded by enemy's that can grab, hurt, and run after you.

This footage is from a speedrun, which does make it much less tense, however I think this jump scare is one of the best that I've seen. The reason for this is that you walk past him once, and it is safe, giving you a false sense of security. Everyone who I have seen play this game has been terrified walking up to this man the first time, as they assume that he is a threat, then on their way back they usually run carelessly as they assume he isn't an enemy or threat.

What is James Bond even About these days?

I'm fascinated by the James Bond franchise because it has outlasted the geopolitics that used to inform it, and the ways the different eras of post-Cold War Bond tries to work around that are fascinating to me. Brosnan Bond is trashy B-movie stuff, ludicrous gadgets, ever-hotter babes, and Pierce manslutting up a storm.

Craig Bond tried to do the Nolan-inspired "prestige genre film" thing at least for the first little while, but that didn't really last all the way through. The last two, Spectre and No Time To Die, are like someone made an Any% speedrun of making a franchise fucking unbearable to pay attention to. The sheer level of unnecessary complications and continuity obsession on display makes Avengers: Endgame look like an early 00's Fox Adaptation in comparison. It's not even in service of anything cool, unless you count Store Brand Blofield and Clearance Rack Japanese-Russian Phantom Of The Opera as attractions.
