I do! I have! I went a long time ago, like nine years ago long ago, I think somewhere out west? I slept on an air mattress, went to an outdoor bathroom, all that fun jazz! and the bug bites, LOL.

I don’t -- my dad used to go to church regularly, but other than that, I’ve never been to church and we’ve never been as a family.

i don’t know how this happened but I literally still have shorts tan from like, august. it is the middle of november, someone tell me how I got here. a couple of years ago, I burnt so badly on a trip to LA I was still seeing the tan months later, LOL. and most of the time, I have some fair flip-flop tan!

Heat Zones in Australia

Heat tolerance is another important factor to consider when ordering plants. While the effect of heat is not as immediate and radical as severe cold, it may slowly damage your plants and kill them. The most obvious heat symptoms include withering flower buds, drooping leaves, leaves discoloration (leaves may turn white or brown), or non-growing roots.

A Plant Heat Zone Map has been developed for Australia, which includes 12 zones, each indicating the average yearly number of days with temperatures over 86°F (30°C). This threshold represents the point when the plants start suffering from the heat. These heat zones range from less than one heat day (Zone 1) to more than 210 heat days (Zone 12). Similarly to the hardiness zones, most garden plants provide heat tolerance information. Therefore, you will find 4 numbers on each plant: Maximum Hardiness Zone, Minimum Hardiness Zone, Maximum Heat Zone, Minimum Heat Zone. For example, a tulip may be 3-8, 8-1. If you live in Hardiness Zone 7 and Heat Zone 7, you will know that you can leave tulips outdoors in your garden year-round. An English wallflower may be 5-8, 6-1. It is relatively cold hardy, but can’t tolerate extreme summer heat.

Again, this Heat Zone map should be used as a guideline and gardeners may find that many plants will survive outside their respective heat zone. The reason is that other factors could have an impact on the life of your plant such as a lack of water (resulting from the heat), light (cloud cover, dappled shade), day length (the longer the summer day, the more impact on plant survival), air circulation (fast-moving air on hot days may quickly dehydrate the plants), surrounding elements (hard structures of stone, concrete) emit heat, raise the air temperature and soil pH.

Coronavirus digest: Belgium asks Germany for help relieving 'exhausted' hospitals | DW | 24.04.2021

Belgium’s Health Ministry said Friday that the country’s intensive care units are struggling to cope with a third wave of coronavirus infections and has asked Germany for help relieving the patient load, according to a Belgian health official. 

Germany received coronavirus patients from Belgium in November during an earlier wave of the pandemic, and earlier this week, more patients suffering from COVID-19 were brought to nearby Aachen, just across the border.

“Germany is already prepared to take over patients,” said Belgian health official Marcel Van der Auwera. 

Van der Auwera said hospital staff in Belgium were “exhausted, pushed well beyond their limits.” He did not specify how many patents could be transferred to German hospitals. 

Van der Auwera added that there were just 82 beds currently available in intensive care units across the country.  

Nevertheless, Belgium still plans to ease restrictions in the coming weeks.

Prime Minister Alexander De Croo confirmed Friday that restaurants and cafes would reopen outdoor terraces from May 8, with four people allowed per table.

“In January, we forecast growth of 3%. Current data shows that it will even be slightly higher,” Altmaier said. Germany’s federal government will announce its spring projections on Thursday.

India’s Supreme Court has told Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that it wants a “national plan” for the supply of oxygen and essential drugs for the treatment of coronavirus patients.

India’s underfunded health system is falling apart as the world’s worst coronavirus surge  shows no signs of easing up. India registered a global record in daily infections for a second straight day on Friday with 332,730 reported cases.

And now, the Press Trust of India news agency has said the country’s Defense Ministry will fly 23 mobile oxygen generating plants from Germany to help with critical shortages of the vital gas, drugs and hospital beds. Each plant will be able to produce 2,400 liters of oxygen per hour, the agency reported.

Kuwait’s directorate general of civil aviation said early on Saturday that it had suspended all direct commercial flights coming from India, beginning April 24, remaining in place “until further notice.”

“As set out in our Trans-Tasman bubble protocols, travel between New Zealand and Western Australia has been paused, pending further advice from the state government,” the New Zealand government said on its website.

The decision came after Western Australia announced that the regions of Perth and Peel were entering a three-day lockdown, starting midnight Friday to Saturday, due to a traveler testing positive for the virus.

On April 19, Australia and New Zealand began an arrangement whereby travelers between the two countries no longer needed to go into a managed isolation facility.

I’ve been in Perth for six days, and I feel like I’m only just beginning to dry out. Over the last few weeks of January, the incessant Darwin monsoon felt like it would never end. This is my first time living below the tropics in about five years. It’s going to take some getting used to. This is life now.

Since we’ll be living on the Best Coast for at least two years, on account of her job and my masters course, I want to record some initial observations: My five years of constant sweat are over. I can actually stand outdoors without changing shirts. Even walk places! However, the sun is angry. It was 37 degrees this week and I grew five melanomas just walking to the car. The wind is cold. I can’t remember the last time I was cold in January. The dry is inescapable. Grass verges crispy and dead. Soil sandy and lifeless. There is history here. I mean, white fella history; European history. Darwin is so very new in contemporary culture and architecture, it feels shallow by comparison. Perth has soaring towers, yes, but sandstone and twee federation homes. And elaborate public houses like the Subiaco Hotel. I love it.

Mining is everything. It’s literally in the water you drink - the iron makes it taste like blood - and stains the footpaths and buildings next to irrigation. The freeways and flyovers seem to take up more room than entire suburbs. The river is actually breathtaking - why did I not know this? The boom times for W.A. may be over, but the place still hums with optimism.
