MODERN BACHELOR PAD RENO

It's 2 am and I come bearing one (1) gift.

This was supposed to be one of my @simblreenofficial contribution...sadly I got derailed. But who cares, it's always time for Simblreen, it’s always October \o/

This is a renovation of steph0sims' modern bachelor house - the build itself is from 2015 (oh good, simpler times..) and idk I hate modern builds but this one feels very nostalgic to me - probably the memories from featuring it in my Potter legacy - so I decided to renovate it.

THE WORD SALAD SPECS 🥗:

I know it says "bachelor" but I furnished it with a couple in mind, a chef and an author plus their cat, with space to raise a family eventually. Maybe. But you do you!

Completely CC FREE hooray.

§ 112.976. V pricey.

30x20 lot, built in San Sequoia.

2 bedrooms + 1 extra room + study + greenhouse/sunroom/whatevs.

3 bathrooms.

outdoor eating space + pool + chicken coop (!!).

moveobjects on is advised.

I *forgot* to fix one of the windows in the living room (you can see it in the screenshot), just click on it and it fixes itself (the perils of moo).

I *forgot* to fix the slightly floating record player, also in the living room.

I sized down a china cabinet from Cats & Dogs with the T.O.O.L. mod, it should stay as is even if you don't have the mod. Same for the rug in the kitchen.

As you can see, I did not limit myself with packs and kits - if you don't have Home Chef Hustle the whole kitchen will cease to exist, just fyi.

I left two rooms completely empty so you can make of them whatever you want, the house is not overly cluttered so you can add your families' little touches here and there, furnish/decorate however you please. I gave you a theme, you expand it!

...and that's it I guess!!! ETA: Nope I lied, please remove the decorative pot from the stove before directing your sims to cook something, or it won’t work ⚰️. This is why u playtest before uploading 🤦‍♀️

First time sharing some Build SC, did put some time on decorating the outdoors so the interiors may not be super fine! and well in case of the used CC I'm not good at keeping up with either Maxis Match or Alpha so it's inevitable that I always end up with a mix of both while building!

and I finally installed Reshade, late but worth it and I made my own preset! love it xD

LARGE FUNTIONAL HOT TUBS THAT YOUR SIMS CAN BATHE IN NO CC

I wanted a super duper large bathtub (more like a miniature swimming pool where you can both bathe and swim in) for my royal sims, but I couldn’t find such cc bathtubs anywhere (if you do know pls tell me), so I had to make do with what we have in the game.

- No cc but requires TOOL mod.

- Can work both indoors and outdoors.

1. Turn on the bb.moveobjects cheat

2.. Build a large platform with size of your choice (raise 4 times), build another room in the middle (lower 4 times).

3. Add stairs to both sides so your sims can walk up & down

4. Select the hot tub of your choice (Personally I’d choose the normal looking onces since when sized down they’d look like floor lamps). Arrange the hot tubs so that the water animation will cover the sunken room => making it look like a pool. You can add bathtubs of your choice as well.

5. With the TOOL mod, size down the hot tubs and bathtubs to 0.02 (or any size that’d not make it look out of place but still accessible). Decorate more if you’d like.

6. Pop into live mode, have your sims get into each hot tub to find out which one will trigger the animation of all the tubs (it’s usually the ones on the left to me, but it might be different to y’all). If none of the tubs give you full animation, pop into build mode and re-arrange the tubs until it works.

7. If the sized down tubs float mid-air (it’s aligning with the higher platform), TOOL mod => Elevate => Type in -1, and it should be down on the floor.

End result:

Sims can either stand, walk around or sit in the tub. Sadly no swimming though.

If you added a bathtub and sized it down, sims can also take a bath here.

I built a bigger one, it’s a miracle the animation worked at all.

I should be filming a tutorial for this to be easier to understand but it’s 3am and I don’t feel like editting so nah.

23. how long have you had a simblr? this simblr is a few months old now since infants came out. i posted consistently back in 2017-2019 before.

24. how do you edit your pictures? i just use gshade and maybe paint to add the moodlets 😂 i used to spend hours using photoshop actions and manually blurring bgs on a macbook back in 2017, now i’m just posting for fun with no pressure!

25. what expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? i actually love island living for the world, it’s so pretty. i also really love growing together for the milestones.

26. what expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? i would love pack refreshes of ones like get to work, outdoor retreat. as for new content, i’m not sure - but not horses 😭
