Eight has two Odux mounts whomst he received as gifts from Zakuulan locals on his travels; these two beasts produce milk and cheese, so he regularly makes those products and occasionally sells them to fund his wanderings around the countryside of Wild Space.
That is not their only purpose; given the necessity of a spy to travel abroad without raising suspicion, Eight was tasked with gathering espionage for the Alliance and scouting potential allied villages/difficult-to-reach enclaves while under the guise of an oddjobs nomadic mercenary for hire. Due to the Eternal Empire's aggressive advancement in tech, it was a unanimous decision for him to go with relatively little technology in order to avoid surveillance, save for the occasional radio and report. As a result, Eight spent most of his time living on the back of his animals and caravan-ing to parts most remote while adapting to life on the move.
Being from a semi-nomadic culture himself, Eight took to never staying in one place and gathering reconnaissance from the locals like a fish to water--even building a mobile house-like structure atop his beasts so he could sleep in the saddle while the Odux' were on the move. Lana's mobile Intelligence did come into fruition...though not in the way she expected. No one could deny the efficacy of an operative permanently out in the field however, and it was approved for Eight to carry out his work like so and as he saw fit, becoming one of the most vital pieces of Alliance intelligence due to being largely invisible to a high-tech Empire.
#swtor#ooc#this was probably one of the most fun aliases/identities eight ever got to perform#but also because he got to do buttfuck all and wander and do things like help people move their hay and make cheese and get paid for it#I really love the idea of the Alliance countering Zakuul by going super low-tech revolutionary though#he had lots of adventures :^)#and i definitely believe he met a Zakuulan killik nest isolated from the rest#or contributed greatly to seeking out hidden force user pockets#hiding from the eternal empire in the forests#but also part of a spy is just. people work and adapting to life as locals#and LOTS of traveling.....#partially inspired by the roadtripping ive been doing a lot in game to take screenies and gifs#kotxx

Exploring Arcann’s Romance: Part 1
So Arcann’s romance, huh?
Kinda sucked, didn’t it?
So I’m going to throw down some ideas that might flesh it out a bit. Again, these are just some of my interpretations, and since I love thinking about his romance I would really like to hear other ideas because some of mine are getting stale from how often I’ve run through the scenarios in my head.
Strap in, it’s another long one.
Part 2 here
Like any in-game romance, there are as many different ways to introduce a romance as there are fans of that pairing. No two are going to be exactly the same, but I’ve found that fans seem to get more creative about a romance the less satisfactory the in-game scenes are. If there’s several scenes with good emotional weight that lead to a satisfying confession/kiss/sex scene then a fair number of fics will include the canon scenes in some form. I’m not saying that this is lazy fic writing, I’m saying that its a testament to how good the canon content is. If what we got is shit, then we’re more motivated to make our own; if it’s good, then then we can focus more on the unseen parts of the existing scene, like their internal dialogue, rather than creating a completely new one. Ex. Fenris from Dragon Age 2. All these years later, I still love his romance. I find the flirting and romance scenes satisfying and true to the characters. I’ve read a lot of Hawke/Fenris fanfics, and a large portion of those who addressed their getting together tend to follow the canon scenes closely. They’re not exact of course, often there’s enough of the author’s flavor to make the scenes feel new again, but I feel like this illustrates the trend.
On the other end of the spectrum are romances like Arcann’s. I understand of course, his romance is an afterthought in the game. An addition that came after the story was concluded and tacked on in a single companion alert that could easy be overlooked. Add that little scene variation before The Nathema Conspiracy flashpoint, and we’ve got two measly little scenes and one or two messages. Compare that to Theron Shan’s romance. Assuming you ran through the Prelude, Shadow of Revan, and Ziost, then you’ve been flirting with him for months if not years. (Quick note, I’ve only romanced Theron as an Imp-side character so I’m not sure how different it is Pub-side) We get to see him flustered by our interest in the Prelude. He subtly checks if we’re still interested when we first see him again on Rishi and acts more accepting of our flirtations. He’s even more confident on Yavin 4, going as far as expressing his worry and his own flirtations. We even get kisses! One on Rishi, one on Yavin. And he seems genuinely regretful that we have to part ways. We don’t get much on Ziost, which makes sense since things are happening so fast, but we get enough to know that he hasn’t forgotten us, and he still harbors interest.
In KotFE, we find that sweet, sad, nervous message waiting for us once we get to a mailbox, and once he enters the story we get plenty of opportunities for flirting, kisses, and soft emotional scenes straight through to the end of Nathema (assuming you didn’t kill him or break up).
Arcann’s content looks pretty pathetic in comparison, so it’s no surprise that the few people putting out fics for him have their work cut out for them.
The first major division we can make are: fics that assume Arcann fell for you after he joins the Alliance, and fics that assume his interest started much earlier, when he was still the villain. The second one is: fics who include the canon confession scene, and those who make their own.
Honestly, I think I speak for everyone in that the content for Arcann is so sparse that most readers don’t have a preference. Beggars can’t be choosers after all. But such categories can help us corral our ideas on his romance.
The companion alert itself is seems very heavily predisposed toward someone looking to romance him. He made you armor so you can always be protected for god’s sake! Even if you’re not looking to romance him, it still makes you think that he’s crushing on your character big time (which he actually admits in a message post-confession). Add those pre-romance messages to this scene and it makes it painfully awkward for anyone who doesn’t romance him.
But even then, the whole thing is extremely abrupt. The last we knew in the game, our character is at least on civil terms with him, but his speech is still very formal and his actions still scream nervous subservience. He still seems very unsure of his position in the Alliance, so he’s probably falling back on what he knows from his years serving Valkorian. Emphasis on serving.
I don’t think I need to tell you guys how bad that is; going into a relationship with the person you feel subservient to.
So it’s little wonder that most fics either put way more distance between the end of KotET and the confession or put more work into advancing Arcann’s headspace into a healthier place, often a little of both.
It’s important to me that I don’t fall into the trap of “love fixes everything” because I don’t personally like that kind of relationship.
Arcann’s so messed up that it would take years to get him in to a completely healthy state of mind, and most fics don’t have that sort of time, but we can at least try to get him into a more confident position before we dive into the romance.
Now, to the romance scenarios. Specifically, the ones where he started being interested in you after he joined the Alliance.
The fics I’ve read who do include the canon alert scene, tend to change it a little. It seems best to let it play out normally without picking the flirt option. That awkwardness can then be used in a more natural confession later on.
Either your character hadn’t even entertained the idea of romancing Arcann, or they had but assumed he wouldn’t return their feelings. Depending on how careful and emotionally insightful they might be, they could also worry that their interest would not be appropriate for the situation. They could worry that even if Arcann was interested he wouldn’t be ready for a relationship. At worst, if they’ve noticed his subservience, they could even worry that he wouldn’t refuse their interest out of some misguided need to appease them or because he feared for his position in the Alliance if he refused. After all, your character is the Commander and they are technically in a position of power over him. Do I think he would actually do that? No. But an overly anxious character, or one looking for any excuse not to confess, might worry about it.
Either way, Arcann gifting them armor, showing an almost desperate need to protect them, and his messages paint a pretty obvious interest. They could be too surprised or flustered to properly respond right then, but they could take the hint to start making moves on him. Whatever that means for your character, whether it’s blatant flirting looking to get a reaction out of him, or its more subtle, like little innocent touches and spending more time with him. The response is up to you.
I admit, I’m all about that pining, so I tend to assume that he has already come to the conclusion that he’s interested in your character and that there’s no way they could possibly like him back. So I figure that any flirting will be coming from your character. How long it takes for him to catch on depends on your character’s personality, what kind of flirting their doing, and how unusual it is for them to act that way.
For those who disregard the confession scene entirely, the sky’s the limit. I have a few ideas of my own but there aren’t really any guidelines here so long as you try to keep them in character (if that’s something you want to do, writing OOC characters is an option, just not one I enjoy). And if you DO need them to do something that would be out of character, then spend the time and do the work to get them to a point where it wouldn’t be. If you need Arcann to take control and push your character up against a wall you can’t go from an unsure regretful man to playful sexy man in 3.5 seconds, work on him to get him there. Throughout a reasonable amount of time and circumstances, boost his confidence, make him feel as if that action would be welcome to your character and not frightening. The actions that lead us there, however, are up to you.
As for Arcann’s falling-for-you process:
I think it was first rooted in respect and a little hero worship.
Assuming that he was honest when he said he didn’t feel anything but negative things for you pre-ritual, let’s consider what those might be.
At minimum you were an annoyance. Some little shit who didn’t have the sense to bow down, and kept foiling his plans. The longer you kept making yourself a nuisance the angrier you made him. You somehow managed to find the one ship who could stand up to the eternal fleet, effectively spitting in the face of his military might. You survived what should have been a fatal blow. You had the gall to come back to Zakuul while there was an active bounty on your head. You subverted his own subjects, showed his automated army was not immune to sabotage, stole the majority of his treasury, and came within striking distance of disabling the entire fleet. He went from being mildly amused and faintly irritated at the mention of you, letting you run around Zakuul with only an offhand warning to the people, to being so fixated that he willingly ignored that Scorpio had taken the throne just so he could attack you.
You were willful, persistent, cunning, and absolutely infuriating. A Robin Hood to his Prince John.
But now he’s on the other side. He’s part of your Merry Men. And those qualities take on another light.
With his rage pacified, his newly reemerged empathy has shown him the cost of his actions. Actions that Vaylin is now mirroring. Suddenly facing down the might of the eternal fleet with its legions of Skytroopers and Knights, the shear impossibility of the task finally hits home for him. This is what the Commander has been fighting for months. Through charisma and shear force of will, they’ve managed to convince people to band together against ridiculous odds, and through guerrilla tactics and their own considerable strength they’ve actually been able to hold their own.
If that doesn’t earn his respect nothing will.
And with their continued dogged attacks, even in the face of such adversity, I don’t know how he wouldn’t admire them.
But your character’s been through a lot by the time he joins up. They’ve been at this for months if not years, all the while toting around the ticking time bomb known as Valkorian. We don’t see it in-game, but they have to be exhausted. Mentally and physically. And now he’s in a position to see those cracks start to form. The shadows under their eyes grow darker, their movements more sluggish, and their patience thins. He watches the way their gaze goes distant or they track someone with their eyes when there’s nothing there, and knows that it’s his father haunting them. Every loss hits them harder and weighs heavier on their shoulders, and Arcann’s admiration for them grows alongside his fear.
Fear that they will break under the pressure.
But to his increasing surprise, that worry is less and less about what that would mean for the galaxy, or even the Alliance, and more what that would do to the Commander. He finds that he’s grown to actually like them. The perseverance that once enraged him now leaves him in awe. The tone he’d thought was mocking is now charming or soothing. The depths of their strength is no longer frightening, but inspiring.
There is a light in their eyes. And every day, every appearance from his father, every loss, causes it to dim a little more. And he’s become terrified that it will go out.
I agree that the scene in the throne room is the turning point for him. When admiration and fondness turned into romantic feelings.
“It was not until you defeated Valkorian and took the throne that I realized my feelings had evolved beyond admiration.” - In-game Message
Seeing his father taking control of the Commander must’ve been terrifying. I’m sure he felt it.
There must have been a surge of Valkorian’s power, and then the Commander’s presence all but disappeared.
Our character was so badly broken that they took on Valkorian’s image just to survive. [Brief side note: I loved those scenes where you have to reassemble yourself by stringing your memories together. But taking on Valkorian’s image never made sense to me. If I address this in a fanfic, I’d prefer being a formless glob of light, or maybe a walking collection of shattered glass.]
You were unconscious for so long and Arcann got so scared that we was willing to go in there after you. He even expresses his worry to Senya that he “wouldn’t be strong enough”. Whether he meant he wouldn’t be strong enough to resist falling to the dark side again, or he simply wasn’t powerful enough to defeat Valkorian is unclear, but the important thing is that he was willing to risk it for you.
I cannot emphasize this enough, he was so scared of losing you that he was willing to face down the man who abused him for decades.
And this close call made him realize how important you were to him and how deep his feelings for you actually ran.

@doomhamster replied to your post “Blacklist Update”
OOC, and with no intention of being snotty, how would you feel about Vaylin just... surviving? Not being "fixed" or made to see the error of her ways or anything, just her being alive at the end of KOTET? Possibly fucking off to parts unknown because she's not sure she wants to set eyes on the Outlander, Zakuul, or her surviving family ever again?
Under the cut below, so that no one who doesn’t want to read this will see it! =D
Because you are one of the few people I will--and have--talked to at length about my feelings concerning Vaylin, and that was still one of the most liberating experiences I’ve had in a while.
Honestly? She’d have to have made that choice, and she... didn’t. Like she could have chosen to just bail, to let it go and leave instead of attacking Odessen. But doing so would have been so, so out of character for her. I think a lot of people are taken in by the image of the golden-haired smiling child, and forget that she methodically crushed a man inside his armor at an age where she damn well knew what she was doing. The horrific abuse that was heaped on her afterwards certainly didn’t help to mitigate her existing temper or her lack of empathy.
Vaylin wants revenge, and she’s never been the type of person to just let something go. I think if she had chosen to just let go and leave, it would have felt as though she’d been replaced by someone else entirely. That it wasn’t really her anymore.
And that’s a lot of my issue with the whole “Vaylin should be redeemed” cry in generall--though by no means all of it. It’s that... Vaylin did have a choice. Several choices. Multiple people reach out to her on multiple occasions, and her reaction is always consistent, and that reaction is “fuck you who do you think you are, I don’t need goddamn saving”.
And at that point, the fandom’s battle cry sounds really condescending, because what everyone is saying is really “but you do need saving sweetie, if only you’d listen to me--a person you barely know and who barely knows you--you’d realize that, come on let me save you”.
Like yeah, Vaylin needs a ton of therapy, but she also needs to stop the murder and torture games. And time and again, she demonstrates that she’s not willing to do that. She makes her choices, and it’s... a self-destructive one in the end. And that’s true to her character. And it hammers home another point that I think is largely missed by tumblr these days: your bpd isn’t a hall pass for your abusive behaviors.
I’m rambling away from the question though! It’s a hard one to answer because like... I definitely have less of a problem with the idea of Vaylin just scarpering than being “saved” for oh so many reasons, but I also feel as though it would still be out of character for her to make that choice. If Vaylin retains full autonomy and agency, she’s gonna pick revenge every time. It’s how she measures control. Letting go and bailing would have felt like vulnerability, like submission, and Vaylin never submits or shows weakness. She never accepts failure.
I feel about Vaylin the same way I feel about Lucille from Crimson Peak. Lucille could have chosen not to stab her brother in the face at the end there. She could have chosen to build a new life with him and Edith (assuming, laughably, that Edith would have just forgotten everything Lucille had done, lol no), she could have even chosen to be free of the house and all of the ghosts within, but she didn’t. And she was never going to. And I love her character for all of that.
I hope that makes some sense?

KotFE chapters ranked best to worst
Just finished kotfe chapter 16 for the second time, so i feel like rating them
disclaimer - highly personal, highly Vaylin based.
KotFE chapter 8 - Taking Flight - Best of the chapters, 8/10. It has some prime Vaylin/Senya interaction, and they are some of the best characters in KotFE, and we get more of how Vaylin thinks and the knowledge Senya is not willing to kill her own kids. You also get to have a cute moment with your love interest if you romance Lana or Koth I think. Arcann appears, if you’re into that.
KotFE chapter 16 - Battle of Odessen - Second best chapter, 7 or 8 out of 10. Again, rated high for the Vaylin/Senya interaction. This is the last place you genuinely assume they are trying to give Vaylin a character arc, especially with how she reacts to SCORPIO taking the fleet at the end, and her dialogue with Senya. Senya gets to mirror her response to her children earlier, by asking Arcann and Vaylin to come with her. This is also the only time i found Arcann like genuinely interesting and relatable - earlier in Kotfe, he’s a boring generic villain who wants to kill destroy planets to go after his father, in Kotet he seems to being yanked around by w/e. Never finished Kotet, so maybe that will change but.
KotFE chapter 15 - the GEMINI deception - third best, 7/10. This was one of the twists SWTOR pulls off without me feeling like they’re just trying to make a twist of the sake of it - it fits the characters 100 percent, and I like it when characters motivations cause them to work against each other, even if we’d all love them to be friends. Also, we got to see more in depth in the GEMINI droids and SCORPIO, and SCORPIO is just really cool
KotFE chapter 11 - Disavowed - fourth best, 6.5/10. I’ll confess, this rating was entirely based on playing Republic Trooper. I got my only companion back who appears in the chapters, and not alliance missions, and I just loved the reunion scene. Otherwise, the plot seemed kind of bland TBH
KotFE chapters 4 and 5 - The Gravestone and From the Grave - These ones are listed together cuz I always forget where one starts and the other ends. But at least a solid 6/10. Either way - the plot makes no sense, we just stumble upon the most important ship, becuz, but they are rated semi highly because of the crew interaction - I wish we got more of the characters talking to and bickering with each other like this in vanilla game. It is A+.
KotFE chapter 7 - Our Lady of Sorrows - 5.5/10. It had SCORPIO in it and that’s cool, and we got to see a little bit of worldbuilding on Zakuul. Koth mentions the place you visit (forget the name RIP me) as being hand-to-mouth and hard to live in even when he was a kid - so we know things weren’t all paradise-y when Valkorion was in charge, even though he tries to convince us so. It’s nice to see another dimension to things.
KotFE chapter 14 - Mandalore’s Revenge - 5/10. It was cool to see the mandalorians, and we all love Shae, and I think she and my outlander and my outlander and Torian got some pretty cool interaction in. I liked that the fact that our characters were solving everything by shooting it felt natural (like it made sense in story). Not much else to say.
KotFE chapter 10 - Anarchy in Paradise - all right, we’ve gotten past the chapters that are good enough for me to rate them on their virtues (or unfairly boosted in rating cuz I like a reunion scene) and now just have to rate them on me liking characters. 4.5 out of 10. I love Kaliyo, but was kind of bored by the rest of the plot. If you asked me upon pain of death to say what happens here other than “Kaliyo and you blow something up” - you know, the intermediate stages between when you get the mission and when it ends - I would be fucked cuz it was just so unmemorable. Also if you play as a female outlander and try to flirt with Kaliyo, she says some really shitty stuff that was clearly just (probably straight male) writers putting shit in a bi girls mouth - like girls are only good for head games, implying guys are for real relationships. you know. this is called... homophobia. Get better, bioware.
KotFE chapter 13 - Profits and Plunder - 4/10. I love Vette but am super bored by Gault, and it seemed like it focused more on Gault than Vette so I was bored. Also some characters reactions seemed to be written just to make Gault seem more cool/competent (like those guys who assume a guy is trying to save money by blowing himself and them up and just leave? or Lana getting angry at him for beating her at cards? didn’t she say she didn’t play in chapter 9 or w/e anyway?) than he actually is. anyway the rest was fine. Not super exciting would’ve been higher because of Vette’s scenes if she didn’t have to share the stage with Gault who seemed to take up more than his fair share of it.
KotFE chapter 6 - Asylum - 3.5/10. This chapter was so unremarkable I don’t remember anything about it. Vik shows up I guess? And Tora? And the Scions who seem to be in there just so the writers can add some more destiny into the mix.
KotFE chapter 9 - Alliance - 3. something? out of 10. rather dull, we make speeches that seem both OOC and badly written.
KotFE chapter 3 - Outlander - 3/10 the chapters are no longer enjoyable to play even a little. I can’t comment anything on the plot because of the excess of boring skytrooper kills. Very boring. Would not recommend.
KotFE chapter 1 - The Hunt - 2.5/10. Again, just exceptionally exceptionally dull. Often, the cahractres lines (especially Marr’s, Valkorion’s, and Arcann’s) felt over the top like they were trying to make things sound extra dramatic. Too many cutscenes, if I’m playing to get my comps or star fortresses and not for plot, I just space through this entire thing practically.
KotFE chapter 12 - Visions in the Dark - 1.5/10. This makes no sense as a non-Force using outlander. It’s dull, we have to hear Valkorion’s stupid voice, etc.
KotFE chapter 2 - Dream of an Empire - 0/10. Hands down THE WORST kotfe chapter, which is saying something. You spend the entire time in carbon sleep, being talked at (not “to”, cuz nothing you say affects anything) by Valkorion. He’s boring, thinks he’s better than everyone else, an objectively awful person, etc. There are also flashbacks of characters you faced earlier, to remind you of how much less boring the rest of the game was.

Today in “WTF” with Dee
Okay, Bioware, WTF.
In KotFE, Lana tells us that it’s only after fighting with Zakuul that most of the Councilors (for those keeping score at home, that’d be Vowrawn, Mortis, Rictus, Aruk, Thanaton, and Acina, in order of seniority - unless your add Nox, then remove Thanaton and add Nox AFTER Acina) died, and it was only then that Acina declared herself Empress.
But then there’s this codex entry.
Point the first:
when Darth Marr's death at the hands of the Eternal Empire incited panic and infighting among the surviving council members
You are telling me that this governing body, whose members are occasionally measured in weeks (per game canon), who lived through Ziost, are going to fall into panic and infighting the minute ONE of them dies? Really? You don’t think that’s a tad inconsistent? You think that Vowrawn, Mortis, and Rictus are going to panic? You think Thanaton is going to panic? He didn’t even panic when Nox shows up to beat his ass, he’s just ANNOYED. Come on.
On top of that, you’re telling me that the foremost strategist in the Empire left no contingency plan in the case of his death, that he hadn’t had one in place for years?
Conclusion: WTF is this OOC bullshit.
Point the second:
She declared loyalty to Arcann and--allegedly--helped him eliminate several council members who refused to bow before the Eternal Throne.
Acina, the baby Sith of the Council, took out Councilors who had been on the Council for decades. More than that, the Sith Empress pursued appeasement, something that I’m sure would play well in an empire we’re led to believe has hardly changed over the last 1,340+ years, and who freezes its collective nuts off on Hoth just so the Republic doesn’t get it. Appeasement and assassination. [ohokay.gif]
Conclusion: Again, WTF is this OOC bullshit.
Point the third:
Whispered gossip suggested their relationship went much deeper than mere political alliance, though little exists to substantiate those rumors.
Yeah, I see you trying to act like “oh, it didn’t really happen,” but seriously, you’re going to haul out the tired old misogynist canard of “she fucked the boss to get ahead”? Why even have this in there? Completely unnecessary, does nothing for the character. You honestly couldn’t think of any better “whispered gossip” than the same shit I heard every time I got promoted in the Marines? It’s just sad.
Conclusion: And yet again, WTF is this OOC bullshit.
Point the fourth (subtitled “Bioware please for the love of god read a strategy book just one time”):
Some accused Acina of cowardice, but the cunning Sith was merely biding her time.
So instead of keeping your most powerful Sith alive, you ... kill them off. To bide your time for an Outlander you didn’t even hear about for some time (and an Outlander you profess not to know even if they were a fellow Councilor!), for some no-name alliance. As strategy. You know what this is? This isn’t strategy, it’s strategery, and that’s embarrassing.
Conclusion: jfc bioware wtf are you doing.
#today in 'wtf' with dee#i should make this a feature#i'm salty enough to do it#i just#do you think if i mailed bioware some strategy books they'd read them#because wtf is even going on

He looks so amazingly like a cat in that moment, deliberately knocking something off... We never actually find out how long their relationship lasted - it’s implied that it was brief and over well before the rescue. I really enjoy his romance, he is cocky one moment and a little uncertain the next.
And yes, that’s the one thing about him that’s put my back up on occasion. He is so protective of Zakuul and supposedly cared enough to desert in order to not to commit war crimes against non-Zakuulans. I’ve always thought his response when you pointed out Valkorian/Vitiate had been responsible for wiping out entire planetary populations and created centuries of struggle between the Empire and Republic was OOC. He might put Zakuul first, but it just doesn’t make sense for him to be so parochial (not the best word choice but the one that comes to mind first) that he’d think an outsider would be willing to ignore the dangers to their own people in favor of Zakuul.
Of course, I’ve never quite reconciled Vitiate’s desire to destroy all life with Valkorian’s supposed love of his Zakuulan empire.
I feel like I'm the only one here but I actually like Koth (even if he takes the gravestone) even him and Lana together. It's kinda sad seeing all the hate he gets when he's a perfectly good character who helps you every step of the way if your nice to him and help the citizens of Zakuul. People are just so up tight about it but I guess that's just me. XP
I love Koth! I never understood the hate he always got either because I would always go out of my way to make him happy. He never ran away with the Gravestone with me because I always try to save everyone. It goes to show, if you are mean and cruel and kill people there will be consequences. It sucks though that these players take out their frustrations at their poor choices on a guy who was just trying to do right.
As for him and Lana I would have loved to have more of a backstory as to what happened between them. I love the moment when you are flirting with Lana on the Gravestone and he goes all Cat Koth and knocks stuff off a crate to interrupt you. I have a character that is romancing him as well and he is a blast and has some great funny moments.
So you definitely are not alone in liking Koth :-)

OOC Update 7-8-18, soft-opening!
Feels like years since I roleplayed. I’m really appreciative that people still have interest after we’ve been down for awhile. I do expect it to take a little to get back in sync but we’ll be soft-opening tonight.
There’s been some system changes in the downtime, mostly to balance things out. I pretty much stay out of most system stuff but they did give me a creation guide and I hope to have more info on those changes soon.
Guide : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rV-jUF3oVD9aIMr6xER_MVMTSuN9I7BJV_ZH9ovuZkA
One change I do know about and like quite a bit is the new hud. It’s still in beta but you should be able to utilize the key features, cc commands still work as well.
Just click the I to make the hud pop out, if you don’t have it make sure you have experiences and media enabled for the region.
The i! ^
With the gear balancing there was a liquidation. You should have received credits comparable to you gear which should make it easy to get a set of the newer stuff. At first all vendors can be found at the market as well as the market terminal. That’s this area, excuse my medium gfx.
If you need any help don’t hesitate to ask in the chatgroup or on the Discord. I find Discord the best place as even if staff doesn’t see it right away they can usually address it eventually.
We’ll be much more open to player ideas this new chapter. Many of us who have been in “Management” are heading into that part of life where you got to take on a bunch of responsibilities. So a definite key to SWRP going on is for it to be more player driven. Now does that mean we’re ok if someone runs in and says they’re Emperor of Zakuul and have a fleet of ten billion warships? No, of course not. Still like to keep things from getting out of hand, but really would like to see people exploring their creativity and having FUN.
As I’ve said the sim is a work in progress so I’m not going to really advertise heavily outside of SWRP till some things are a bit more smooth, but let’s get those stories started :)

Thoughts incoherent cuz it's too early for me still but hc that during Onslaught + Echoes Eight returns to the Empire but mostly to manage Jadus' financials and other garbage that he can't take care of all the way over in solitude, so he just returns to tend to his property and other shit, all the while playing the role of bereaved widower whose husband hasn't come back from the war so he can pretend he's too melancholic and aggrieved to get involved in current conflicts (liar). This of course, makes a lot of Sith fall for it bc when he starts swiping at his tears it gets really awkward, and it's a bad look if you ask someone's weeping spouse to fight for you instead when they're wailing about how they feel so unsafe and alone and they're just a weak little officer who needs a big strong Sith to protect them yet they will wait an eternity for Lord Jadus to return and oh woe.
The minute they leave, he drops the act.
#swtor#ooc#jadorre#freeloading maleWIFE!!!#nosta tactics of may or may i not have killed my husband#it's very effective since the sith are like such loyalty and devotion...many officers should bootlick like you#and it does resonate as a story with the Council since there's a lot of widowers after zakuul#he still calls them idiots when they turn around tho LMAO#only downside to this is some sith take it as an odyssey situation and start being like you must be so lonely in that big house by yourself#(give me your hand in marriage and all of jadus' stuff)#and then he has to act all bashful and say something cheesy like lord jadus will surely return#other downsides include the remnants of jadus' devotees finding him and trying to kiss the ground on he walks on#bc OH JOY the master's hand has returned to us this is a sign and then they ask every 5 secs if he needs them to serve in any way#desperate for guidance as they are and he's like no. leave. go away#and they moan and go oh the master's bride is so cruel and they come back and do it again 3 secs later#eventually he gave up on kicking them out bc they're too persistent so now he's accidentally running Jadus' cult too#they've started making scripture about him. he's tried throwing it in the fireplace#fun hours in jadus' haunted fuck castle with his cultists!

“ "Zakuul! My empire! The Alliance tried to destroy me, but I ground them to dust. Now the Outlander hides in fear, as my fleet rips through the galaxy. I am the wrath of the dragon's fire. I am your Eternal Empress!"

Third Sister Reva is terrible and I love her. It’s about time we had more femme villains that are just unapologetic about what they do. I hope they don’t give her some tragic backstory, just let a femme villain be a villain.

Remember Vaylin grew up her entire life knowing nothing but pain and violence, even love to her was expressed as violence and that’s tragic.

Finn should’ve been the Son of Luke and Mara Jade, where Mara Jade hides Finn in or gets Finn taken from by the First Order Empire.
