It’s a different kind of Sumner for sure, but it got me thinking about what it is about Summer, that makes it so special. My favorite thing about Summer is “just chillin” that is why I love the shore so much. It’s not because I want to go lay on the beach necessarily, but more that the beach is there, the people are just casually strolling around, no hurry to do anything. The breeze, the sand in the air that you can’t avoid, the sun and haze and at the same time the cool air, the birds and the sound of people and children chatting and laughing and just having fun, the clacking of the bicycle tires on the boardwalk and the waves crashing onto the shore. It’s the way it feels there, that’s what I love the most. That is how I want the spaces in my home to look and feel, pretty but laidback, lived in, welcoming, and not too fussy. ◈ As I was showing you yesterday in my stories, the living room is beginning to take shape. We have our daybed/couch and also our shelving unit. But we are still missing many pieces. Although I have already a lot of things to look for, I always find a way to add unplanned stuff to my to-do list... Such as covering up this brand new daybed... ⁠ ⁠ I knew from the beginning that this color would be harsh to compose with as it's a cold grey and that I'm going for a warmer palette. But this daybed was too perfect for this bow window to ignore it. So I sought for some solutions to change that and here I am with some fabric samples. I've ordered it from Bemz (samples are free). Bemz is a company that has a large range of fabrics to cover-up your IKEA furniture. An affordable way to make it look stylish. Exactly my kind of thing. I'll keep you posted about this.
