@ourtalestold Jingyi said “this place isn’t even on the map

He was shoulder to shoulder with the younger boy. Though they were generally of an age. He glanced over the map and then looked up at the town they were in and squinted. Lan Sizhui made a small sound as he considered the situation. "It is not you are correct about that." he rose his his violet gaze to his Sect mate and shook his head.

"Yet here is it. It looks like it might have been here a long while--which is almost impossible, remember when we passed through here with some of the Ouyang disciples and Zizhen ?" he inquired he was pretty certain that there had been a clearing here but no town. "I recalled we put markers on the trees here.." he motioned to the woods near them moving in a flurry of white and blue to step into the woods with the stray stripes of sunlight gleaming down on them. He followed a path into the woods he recalled, it was still trampled from the juniors walking in formation.
He waited for Jingyi to catch up and pointed to the small star mark. It was Sizhui's own mark. "I did this one." he stated solemnly. "So what ever that is..." he pointed his finger in the direction of the town. "It is not as old as it looks." he refused to use the word ghost town with the other boy for fear of terrifying him.

@ourtalestold Jingyi said - ❝ Anything could happen. You’ll protect them, though. It’s what you do. ❞ (for Jingyi)

Of course Jingyi was right, he knew he very well and he nodded his head there was of course no deny that he would do such a thing. It was within his nature. He was protective, he was kind and he naturally wanted to help. What Jingyi didn't see was the fact that Sizhui was angry, he was upset and he knew that what ever was going on in this small town, that if he didn't end it the innocent people here were doomed.

Someone had summoned a Yao, in the wrong way. They had called it up in a circle, and it had eaten them. Now the village was be taken one villager at a time, to inspire more fear. It was to cause the most harm he recognized the pattern from his research on fear inducing creatures. Causing a shadow to cast where no shadow should be. Loud knocking on the door, the walls, the floor board. It toyed with its food.
Which was what it saw these people as.
Sizhui had gathered everyone in the main manor, where he could keep the protections going. The other Junior's that had come with he and Jingyi were creating the talisman's while they waited. Sizhui looked to Jingyi. "So what is it you fear ?" he asked him, violet eyes flickering up to meet Jingyi's. As he turned to one of the young men. “Once we are out the talisman’s return up, we will not come back before sun up.” he stated “Do not allow anyone in or out until I quote to you rule number 302.” he said seriously. “Or Jingyi does.”
