Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall is full of darkness, obsession, stalker-ness and a character with no sense of reality. Mike is in love with Verity. Even after she gets married. He sees that as punishment for his fling. He knows they belong together because of all of her secret signals and messages that only he can decipher. Book drags a bit when the story tells about Mike’s obsession over and over...and over...We get it. Mike is seriously jacked up and sees things that aren’t there. Poor V has no idea the lengths Mike will go to for them to be together. Mike reminded me of the guy from Perfect Days (hated that ending) This ending might surprise you a bit. You’ll see it coming but hope it’s not. Good thing about the audiobook is that you can speed it up when the story drags.
