So if we’re going with Diantha seeing everyone’s death in a dream, imagine the thing that convinced her the dream was real was some kind of number or symbol she saw before the ambush happened

Also yeah, imagine the ABSOLUTE guilt Lance, Iris, Cynthia, and Leon (I forgot Hop existed for a minute lmao) felt for choosing to save their family over the other people in their regions. They chose to betray their job as Champions for their family. Perhaps the reason they chose to save their family and not let them die is cause they hoped they’d be able to escape capture?

But back to Diantha, imagine her trying to find a way to get all the Champions to come to Kalos so they’d be safer in numbers. But people like Iris and Wallace can’t because they’re guarding items that Team Rainbow Rocket would want for themselves

Unless of course Diantha just straight up tells all the Champions about what she saw. Calls an emergency meeting in Kalos and pretty much starts with

“So this might be a shock for all of you, but we’re all going to die within the next few days”

Augustine ran to her room asking her what's wrong, worried as fuck, then she pulls him close, hugging him, terrified he'd suddenly disappear, her hands were trembling as she's going on how she'll make sure nothing happens to him and to everyone. Like, mfer is so confused but he's like really trying to calm her down. Imagine how paranoid she'd be, always having one of her mons (yes ofc its Gengar bc I still love this hc) watch over Augustine in Lumiose, making sure Lysandre doesn't get near him, and even spy on Lysandre. Then when she gets to the League she even tries to confront Malva abt it, and ofc that kinda shocked everyone and even Malva bc holy shit they haven't seen Diantha this pissed and terrified. Like, her hands are legit shaking, grabbing Malva by her shoulders, glaring at her, it got to the point Diantha ended up calling her Tyrantrum, the imposing dragon fossil glaring down at everyone. Malva eventually fesses up, she knows damn well Diantha's too pissed to mess w, and despite her always wanting to spite Diantha, she knows if she did rn she'll be the one dying bc she knows the lengths Diantha will go through to make things right.

And god just chdmdb Diantha explaining to them what her dream was, that she was so goddamn sure it was a premonition, and the others were sceptical at first but then again, she managed to find out abt Malva being part of Flare bc of that dream, even told them of Lysandre's plans and him being the head of Flare, and Diantha's starting to spiral again Drasna had to calm her down.

Then ofc, Dia calls in the other Champions, said it was an emergency, and y'know, they came as soon as the call ended bc Dia honestly sounded like she's abt to experience her fifth meltdown for the day and it's only 10 in the am, tbf she is on her fourth meltdown for the day—

When the others got there, Diantha is trying so so hard to calm herself bc Jesus Christ homegirl did not eat anything today bc she was hurrying to the league in a panic and that dream still continues to haunt her, so yeah she's like, at her limit

So she's there, taking deep breaths, and then looks at the other Champions, telling her of the dream, of the premonition she had. And ofc some of them couldn't believe her, especially w how detailed she is abt their deaths and the events that's gonna happen, but like, y'know, even Leon himself said that Rose really acting suspicious lately, even more so than usual, he's been more demanding, more isolated, as if he's planning smth. And ofc, that kinda surprised the other Champions too bc Leon and Diantha don't even get along well, they don't even agree on almost everything, but w Leon showing that he actually believes in what Diantha is saying is enough for the other sceptics to actually believe her, and they should start planning on what to do now bc if not then they're all gonna die

Iwaizumi remembers rambling and he remembers that you let him; you were never one to cut him off. He was a good listener, as it could be especially hard to get a word in around people like his group of friends, but you?

He was rambling on and on about something — he forgets what, but it was big for his sixteen-year-old self. Nerve-wracking.

“Are you done?” he remembers you asking, side-eyeing him as you walked.

Iwaizumi is scared because, for the first time in the three months he’s been carrying your ring in his pocket, he really wants to fucking give it to you.

He’s always wanted to — no shit, it’s why he bought it — but tonight is the first time he wants to ask you. He doesn’t just want to picture it on your finger, he wants to feel it against his hand when he holds yours.

The same movie you’ve seen four times plays on the TV. You’re leaned right against him; your eyes are heavy, you’ve yawned a few times.

Half of him wants to do it, half of him knows it’s late.

It’s just — it’s you in his shirt, in his sweatpants, in his arms. He has been yours for way too long to not have done this sooner, but neither of you have ever been in a rush to do anything.

Until now, half past midnight on your long weekend and all he wants to do is plan a wedding.

Iwaizumi can’t even sit in his imagination for long, because soon enough you’re sitting up with a look of confusion and you’re lifting his hoodie up, putting a hand over his heart.

“What?” he says, half a breath and half a laugh.

You look … concerned. He can’t tell whether he thinks it’s cute or distressing. “You don’t feel that?”

“Feel what?”

“Hajime, your heart is racing.”

“Is it?” he asks. He sets his hand beside yours. “Nope, don’t feel it.”

You roll your eyes, yanking his sweater back down as you sit at his side. “Well, something is making you two steps away from arresting right here. Spill before I call an ambulance.”

“It’s nothing, seriously. Watch the movie, will you?”

“But I’m nosy, damnit. Don’t you know me at all?”

God, so fucking well. Somehow, not well enough. Tell me more. Tell me everything I already know.

“It’s nothing!”

“Hajime,” you say, and finally your voice is stern. “Whatever you want to say, you know I could never be mad at you for it.”

Iwaizumi takes a deep breath. The box in his pocket feels like it’s made of fucking lead.

“I—“

“Stop. It.”

(He does. He stands up instead.)

“Okay, wait,” you start again, “I didn’t mean leave.”

“Give me a second, damn,” he groans, dusting off his pants, checking it’s still there. Of course it’s still there, but if it wasn’t, this would be bad.

Iwaizumi knows you deserve a thousand flowers and a candle-lit beach, and maybe he’ll give you both. But he’s neck-deep and the water is rising; it’s now or within the next hour, really.

“Hey, are you alright? You’re pale,”

“I’m fine,” he reassures you. Iwaizumi kneels in front of the couch.

“Hajime,” you say again, face contorted in worry. “Seriously, are you—?”

You don’t just trail off, you jump off the road.

In one of his hands is a box. A small one, fitting for a ring. His other hand rests on your knee.

“Are you—“

“—dead serious? Yeah,” he says, sounding way less strong than he looks. “I am.”

He opens the little box, showing you what’s inside. It’s in your colour, a pretty diamond glistening beneath the warm light of your table lamp and the movie. You swear you even mentioned that shape once, probably years ago.

“No,”

“Yeah,” he says, “yes.”

“Are you serious?” you whisper, feeling your tears jerk to the surface, rimming your eyes. You rest a hand on his.

He’s shaking.

“Hajime,” you laugh, wiping a hand under your eye. “You’re shaking.”

He sighs.

“I know,” he nods. Iwaizumi cracks a small smile — he thinks he might cry, too. “You told me to do it scared.”

Your brows furrow and unfurrow in the matter of a few seconds. Yeah, you did say that.

(You were sixteen and talking about less major things, but you did say that.)

“So I’m doing it,” he finishes. “Scared.”

“Scared of what?”

He shrugs. “That I’d stutter when I ask you to marry me. Or that you’d say no.”

You smile. “Have you asked me?”

“Not yet. I was gonna make a speech, but I,” he slows. He stops — he has to, he’s getting choked up. “I might have to save it for later.”

“I don’t want a speech, I wanna hear you say it.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay,” he says. Iwaizumi takes your hand in his shaking hold, his thumb swiping over the top of your ring finger. “I’m gonna do it now.”

“Get on with it, Hajime.”

You’re unmistakably excited.

Iwaizumi kisses where the ring will be if you tell him yes. Scared and all, he looks up at you.

(He speaks the words you’ve been waiting for into your skin. Will you marry me? murmured into your knuckles.

You don’t even tell him yes. Not coherently, anyway.)

You throw yourself into his chest and he has to hold himself up against the coffee table behind him to kiss you upright.

“Yes,” you answer again, over and over. “Even if you were scared to ask.”

“It just means I love you, doesn’t it?” he murmurs, taking your hand and moving it back in front of him. He slips your ring onto your finger. “Just scared on the off chance you were gonna spit in my face—“

“Shut up,”

“Hey, don’t talk to your fiancé like that.” Iwaizumi hesitates, looking up from the ring to your face. His eyes are so soft that you know they’re for you. “That has a ring to it, doesn’t it?”

“Fiancé,” you repeat. Husband to be.

“Yeah. That does sound pretty good, doesn’t it?”

“Just imagine how I think fiancée sounds, honey.”

“And look — you didn’t even stutter.”

Oof ough ouch ok 😭😭 these ones wont be in any kind of order, as ranking them i think would make me throw up, so instead pls enjoy the first five that come to mind

1. who HASNT sobbed at the in space "i'm a power ranger!" scene like get real with me right now. Never a dry eye in sight, the ultimate power rangers moment (honourable mention to Megaranger because that ending also had me sobbing like a baby)

2. Gem and Gemma running back to the gang after their "deaths" in rpm. Rose McIver SOLD that heartbreak and then seeing them come back filled my heart with relief and my eyes with tears

3. When Sosuke/Saki/Renn use the other go ongers weapons to show that the team is together no matter what OOF. OUCH. "i'm borrowing your only one" OOF. OUCH.

4. I held myself together really well throughout the Gingaman final but then Ryouma let out one last wet eyed scream to the sky and i just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 AND THEN AN EQUALLY WET EYED HYUUGA COMFORTING GOUKI I FUCKINNNNGGGG

Foaming and frothing at the mouth. I am also so normal about them. Currently feeling like:

The image of Iris wearing Lance’s cape and Hau wearing Diantha’s necklace is just so CXHNHCXH. You know? God I would pay you real money to have those drawings of them wearing the cape and necklace

Anyways, I bet at first Iris and Hau never kept the items on them. They wanted to throw them out or destroy them, something to get rid of that connection they have to the older champions. To say that they aren’t the same as them, they protect the people of their regions not kill them for speaking out of line. That they aren’t going to carry the torch just because it got passed to them. But something is stopping them from extinguishing that flame for good, no matter how many times Iris is prepared to have Hydreigon burn the cape to ash or Hau ready to get Alakazam to teleport the keystone far away from him, they can never bring themselves to do it. So the torch sits there, unlit, waiting for the next move

Only years later, after much, much more mockery, distain, and hate from the public, does the cape and necklace feel somewhat safe to wear, and they don’t feel as heavy from sin like before. And the torch that has been sitting for years finally produces a small flame, and it will slowly grow to its original blaze of fire

And I have this lil concept in mind yknow, this one haunted me last night, like,,, another conference in Kalos, and Hau and Calem met bc yeah they're gonna battle each other

And Calem just has this feeling abt him, that there's really smth off, the way he smiles, the way he talks, the way he'd tell them anything they want to hear, everything about it is so so familiar to him. And suddenly, in the battlefield, standing opposites of each other, he could see Hau smile at him, the same lazy smile people were used to seeing w the Alola Champion, but his eyes.. his eyes were glowing, a bright emerald amidst the dust. Hanging from his neck was a Key Stone Calem knew all too well who it originally belonged to. As he prepares to call out his Chesnaught, Hau spoke to him, laughing, "show me how bright you shine, Calem!" And when he called out that Alakazam, Calem finally realized why it's all so familiar.

The kids finally becoming the Champions they were meant to be jcmdnd how they also became more violent and more manipulative, how they could get away w a lot of things bc ofc, they're Champions, the strongest trainers in their region, in the world, how could anyone ever beat them

Been seeing all this drayton angst and im EATING IT UP!!!!! gamefreak was really cooking when they put the guy from opelucid "blasted with a giant ice beam" city in the snow biome of the terrarium, in a previous post you said he'd be at BBA at the time of the attack but what if he wasn't? What if he was stuck in the frozen town? (maybe trapped in his frozen over house)

He chose to station himself in the polar biome as exposure therapy because oh boy! he does not do well in the cold despite what he says about it not bothering him

I imagine he had a similar response to the cold/ice types like anime!iris does but of course less humorously and more traumatically!

He'd def mask his fear of the cold/ice types w/ jokes n such before skedaddling away "just because I'm not bothered by the cold doesn't I wanna stay here, it's not the best place for napping ya know"

Real shit he and his fam would have some sort of trauma over ice and snow and even the cold now for real, for fucking real. Opelucid really got the brunt of Plasma's attack, and I know that Drayden, Iris, and his parents told him to stay put, to hide inside the house, within the warmer rooms, just so he'd be safe. And like, he's young during the attack probs, imagine how that'd mess him up too, having to hide within the safety of your home while your family is in the front lines trying to save not only your city but the entire region. His sis especially, Iris probs hunted Plasma down, and had to made sure everyone else in the region was safe

But imagine if he really went out tho to at least try to help, what good is his strength as a trainer if he won't help right? And god just,,, him seeing the state Opelucid is in, how some people were frozen to death, some were struggling to warm themselves even w their pokemon, and there's still some Plasma grunts roaming around. His grandfather was fighting tooth and nail against the grunts, and even Zinzolin. The Frigate wasn't even around anymore, and he knows Iris is probably hunted them down to stop them too

Imagine how that fucked him up tho, that even after everything was settled, he hasn't forgotten abt the deaths, abt how cold it was, how helpless they all were

He doesn't interact w the pokemon in the biome that much, he hates how cold it is there, he's scared they'd use any ice attacks on him too. It didn't help, it didn't fucking help, Dragon types are weak to Ice. One good thing is that his Archaludon's Steel typing made Ice neutral, but sometimes that doesn't reassure him. There's always that lingering fear y'know, that Plasma will show up again and maybe attack the region again and he dreads the thought of it.

And even better bc in my hcs, Iris has Kyurem, she was the one who got him, the one who kept him. And y'know, as much as Drayton loves his sis, he absolutely hates how she has the pokemon that ruined their city. He knows it wasn't Kyurem's fault, he knows that, if anyone's to blame it's Team Plasma, but yknow, it's Kyurem's powers that made Opelucid a frozen hell scape

Lance then tells her what's bothering him, that he thinks he's really weak, that he really couldn't be the perfect Champion of the Indigo League, that some people still don't see him as a Champion, and he really trauma dumped on her. And by the end of it, Diantha was at his side, wrapping her arms around his torso, pulling him close to her. Lance let's out a dry laugh, leaning in to Diantha, "why.. do you still put up with me..?"

Diantha gave him a smile, soft and gentle as her touch on his cheek, "because I love you." And Lance let out a choked sob, pulling her impossibly closer to him.

Oughhh, yeah Iris trying to kill Diantha is great. I’m totally normal about that (I’m delulu)

My first idea was that Iris, like the girlboss she is, convinces Diantha that she’s not apart of the attack. Like maybe Diantha found her alone, without the Unova kids and without a dragon. Idk why Iris is alone, taking a leisurely stroll though a city she already destroyed ig

But when Diantha finds Iris she pretty much ignores every red flag about her and just, immediately goes to see if she’s alright. Making sure her daughter isn’t hurt from the attacks. And while Iris is initially confused about why Dia isn’t scared or attacking her, she realizes she can kill two birds with one stone because of Diantha’s mistake

Because if the six of them were able to take down half the Unova league with the Original Dragon, who’s to say they can’t do the same to the Kalos League

And Iris is lying through her teeth, telling Diantha she can’t contact anyone in her League. Saying she has no backup to fight the Original Dragon. You are honestly making me ill. Bianca, Drayden, and Hilbert not wanting Iris to leave. Absolutely trying their best to convince her to stay with them. That they’ll be able to defeat Team Plasma with her, be able to return to a normal life, be able to have her back in their lives

But that isn’t Iris’ world. She has a Bianca, Hilbert, and Drayden waiting for her. She can’t stay with them. And they know that, they just won’t be able to handle the loss again

But on a lighter note, Iris teaching Hilbert how to use the Battle Bond ability. Telling him to send out Emboar, to put his hand where Emboar’s heart is. For Emboar to put his hand where Hilberts heart is. To close their eyes and think. Think about the friendship they have, think about the day they met, to the day they had their first win, their first loss, to think about everything that brought their friendship closer. That created the close bond only they could experience

Hilbert and Emboar didn’t end up syncing up right then and there, but they felt it. That feeling Iris described of becoming one with your Pokémon

And after some trial and error, they’ll be able to finally sync up and use the Bond Phenomena

Also, I know in the anime it was all cool and stuff to use the bond phenomena. But to start off Iris and Hilbert probably had to mentally train and connect with their partners to even sync up, not even including being able to sync up on command. And then they’d physically train to combat the pain they’d feel during battle, lest they pass out mid fight

Also just because this is Hilbert we’re talking about, I just know this guy got so excited when he first got the hang of it, that he told Hilda’s Serperior (Samurott? I don’t remember her starter) to attack them. And one got hit to Emboar stomach had Hilbert folding and wheezing on the ground

It was nice for him y'know, to have her next to him again, to have her with him, to know she's alive and breathing and warm and she's right next to him. But he knows she's not really their Iris.

And like,, imagine them talking tho, Hilbert asking abt what Iris' universe was like, about her life there, what she did that she survived Plasma's attack. And ofc, she told him everything, told him what she and Haxorus managed to reach while fighting off Plasma, and that saved her life. And god imagine that breaking Hilbert. Their Iris would've been alive rn if she and Haxorus managed to unlock the Bond Phenomena too, but then his mind drifted off to his own self loathing, never blaming Iris, ofc he couldn't blame her. Instead he's there blaming himself, maybe if he had been there with her, she would still be alive, maybe he could've saved her, maybe they could've escaped together, maybe w their combined power during that time, they really could've stopped Plasma.

But he wasn't there, y'know. And when he got there, he was already too late.

Iris sees his hands trembling, fidgeting, she takes them in hers, leaning in closer, telling him it's going to be okay, they'll beat Plasma soon enough. But ough cbdndbdn that wasn't what Hilbert was thinking at that time ofc, instead he pulls Iris close to him, impossibly closer, his hold tight yet gentle, his voice, wavering, vulnerable, laid bare before her were all the pent up self frustration he held deep, and he whispers, voice breaking, "don't.. don't leave, please.. I don't want to lose you again.."

And just like with Bianca, Iris broke, trying to comfort Hilbert now, hoping she could give him the reassurance and closure that he needs.

To add more lore to the Rebellion AU (ig we’re calling it that?) and to just talk about the Battle Bond Ability, what if Iris died in that AU because she and Haxorus couldn’t unlock the ability

Like we couldn’t decide on what caused the AU to split, so why not have it as that? Imagine just, Iris survived and got away from Team Plasmas capture because that was the moment Haxorus and Iris became one and used the Bond Phenomenon for the very first time. Overpowering all the Team Plasma Members and escaping with their lives

But in the Rebellion AU, Iris and Haxorus just, never clicked like they were supposed to. So they got defeated and captured, and no matter how much Iris cried for Haxorus to get up or for any of her Pokémon to continue fighting, she was eventually restrained and taken to the Castle. And we know what happens from here

Ough just imagine in the future, when all the commotion dies down and they’re trying to figure out how to send Iris back to her own Universe, she tries to start a conversation with Bianca; asking her if she still studies the Bond Phenomenon or if she’s to busy to do that now. She takes in and cares for small dragons types or dragon like Pokémon. She’ll find a baby archen with a broken wing and once Nurse Joy wraps up it’s wing, she will take it home and care for it until the wing is fully healed. Then she’ll usually release them into the wild once they’re fully healed

This is actually how I headcanon she caught her Archeops. It didn’t want to leave her
