Slow realisation
A commission for @cheklmn . Sory for the long wait, hope you will enjoy it!
Adrien tapped his foot, more out of boredom than or out of impatience. He really didn’t understand what all this was about.
It all started with Nino almost jumping on him in the Lycée’s library. Adrie was minding his own business, working on some of his Mandarin homework when Nino came screaming. Well, not really screaming cause it was, you know, a library but he was pretty close. Adrien was almost knocked off his chair as Nino grabbed his shoulders and shook them wildly while whispering some unintelligible nonsense.
Adrien fell on the floor as if he was a rug puppet when Nino let go of his shoulders. Rubbing his lower back Adrien got up and raised an eyebrow, silently questioning his best friend’s weird behavior.
“What had gotten into you.” Adrien whispered. He wasn’t angry, but he didn’t appreciate the bruise he will get.
“I am the best friend in the world.” Nino stated proudly.
“I already know that.” for his part, Adrien wasn’t impressed. The fact that Nino was an amazing friend was no news.
“No, no, trust me, I am. And you are gonna scream it after I tell you the news. No, not scream it. You are going to tattoo it on your forehead. I can already see it…”
“Nino.”
“Oh, when we are going to the tattoo artist I want to come with you and pick the font for the tattoo and…”
“Nino!” Adrien tried to keep his voice low, but it rang a little bit louder than he intended. Luckily no one was around right now to scold him.
His friend seemed to finally snap out of his fantasy of Adrien getting the words ‘Nino is an amazing friend’ tattoed on his forehead. He cleared his throat and looked at Adrien with an excited smile. “Are you ready to hear it?
“Yes, come on. Tell me already.” Adrien leaned in, curiously. When he was preparing surprises, no one could beat Nino to it. Okay, except that one time when he was akuamtized, but Adrien wasn’t going to mention that.
“I got you a date with Ladybug.”
“You did WHAT?!”
Now if they would have been in a cartoon, Adrien was sure this would be the moment when the scene will cut to birds all around flying away because he scared them with his scream. But because it was only the real life which, sadly, had no cartoon-like emphasis scenes, the only thing Adrien managed to do with his scream was made an angry librarian come their way and scold them and tell them to take their conversation out.
Or he assumes so, he might have fainted after his brain finally processed the fact that Nino had somehow managed to get him a date with Ladybug.
Unknown to Adrien, Nino glanced down at him then gave the librarian an awkward smile.
“It is okay, madame.” he grabbed his fainted friend off the floor and started dragging him outside. “We are taking this outside, sorry for the disturbance.”
The next thing Adrien remembered was being splashed by water and waking up screaming.
So, in short, this is how Adrien found himself at Ciel de Paris, the whole upper floor booked especially for this date. Having connections in high places certainly paid off sometimes. His eyes wandered to the windows, taking in the sigh of Paris at night. For a second he wondered if Ladybug will come through the front door or through the window. If he would have a date with Ladybug while in the suit, he would certainly come through the window while doing a quadruple spin, double flip while holding a bouquet of roses in between his teeth.
Making an impression, you know?
But Ladybug was always a little bit more formal so he assumed she will just come through the door. Make it seem more serious. He wasn’t even sure why she agreed to this. Maybe Nino and Alya were pulling a prank on him.
“Monsieur Agreste, your date is here.” the voice of the waiter almost made Adrien jump out of his skin.
He turned around quickly. “ Hello, Lady… buuuuug.”
He wasn’t drooling.
Now, the thing about the suits they were wearing when they were superheroes was that… well, you couldn’t exactly change out of them. Apparently, he has been lied to by that stinking cat god he keeps feeding. Ladybug still wore a suit, but it seemed to imitate a formal red dress, with elbow length black gloves
Okay, maybe he was drooling. Just a little. A lot. Was that a puddle on the floor?
Ladybug smiled sweetly at him in a way that seemed almost familiar. Hm… it was probably because he was seeing her every other day as Chat.
“Hi, Adrien.”
“Hey,” Adrien said blushing. “Fancy seeing you here.”
Ladybug looked surprised for a second so Adrien did the only thing he could think of. He gave her finger guns.
She seemed amused. “Oh, and I thought we have a date.”
“We do. Yeah. Nino, my DJ overlord and future Cannes winner who the world doesn’t deserve, arranged it for us.” Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry, he insisted I add that whenever I mention his name. So uh, shall we take a sea?”
Ladybug nodded and Adrien led her to one of the tables by the window.
“You are a true gentleman, aren’t you?” Ladybug asked when he pulled out her chair.
“I do hope so.” he smiled as he took his seat.
Adrien noticed Ladybug was gazing in the distance to the skyline. “They say it is the best place for looking over Paris, but I bet it doesn’t compare to what you see when you swing around.
She simply hummed, a soft smile spreading over her lips. “Wouldn’t say so. This restaurant has quite a nice spot.”
“Yeah, all view can eat.”
Ladybug glanced at him in surprise. Then she burst into a fit of giggles. Adrien almost fell out of his chair. Finally. She finally laughed at one of his puns. While they were on a date. Today was a beautiful day. Life was worth living.
“So shall we order?”
“So are you in the mood for a snack?”
Adrien jumped up, with a shriek, the cucumbers from his face mask falling in the process. When he collected himself, he was shocked to say at least to see Ladybug hanging on her yoyo, looking at him baffled while holding a bag of something that smelled quite good.
Adrien laughed nervously. “Hi. Ladybug. I was just doing my afternoon beauty routine, but sure, you can come in.”
She swung in, putting her yoyo back at her waist and placing the package on the table. Adrien sweets senses were tingling and his cat nose was telling him whatever she brought smelled heavenly.
“Oh, are you buying usually at Tom and Sabine’s boulangerie?” he questioned once he saw the logo on the bag.
It seemed that might have set something off in Ladybug’s head as she began to fidget. “Oh, no, no, haha, see I just stumbled upon it and uh… it had great reviews! So I thought yeah, I will just drop and buy some stuff and bring it to Adrien given I am dropping uninvited in his house, you know. Heh.”
Adrien blinked in surprise. Huh, the fidgeting was really adorable. And it reminded him of Marinette. Oh, speaking of…
“My friend’s parents actually own that place. I can guarantee for their tastiness.”
Ladybug smiled. “I will take your word for it. Sorry for ruining your facemask by the way.”
Adrien simply shrugged. "Don't worry too much about it. My skin routine can survive until evening when I'm supposed to do the next one. Also, if you need any face products don't hesitate to ask I have a whole collection. And this one ocean salt scrub works wonders." Adrien stopped himself abruptly, just realizing what he was implying. "Not that your skin doesn't look amazing or anything, I, in no way, even dare to suggest that and... mph."
Adrien crossed his eyes, noticing the macaron Ladybug shoved in his mouth has a pink shade. Hm, strawberries. Really good.
Ladybug giggled. "So, I see you have a  Dance Dance Revolution Machine here." he eyed his arcade corner. "Wanna bet I will break your record in the first try?"
"Oh, it is on!"
For the last couple of weeks Adrien and Ladybug had a constant game of "which game can I get my ass kicked at today?". Well, so far he got his ass kicked at pretty much every game they played from Dance Dance Revolution to Super Mario. Of course, he also won a couple of times on his fifth or so try. Maybe Ladybug was just letting him win out of pity, but he preferred to think she didn't. Or maybe yes. It would mean she liked him enough to do so.
He has been pulled out of his train of thought by a loud crash noise.
'Ladybug wins' was sprawled in big red letters across the screen. Oh well, what else was new.
"I would say I am sorry I beat you again, but I am really not," she said with a wink.
Alright, Adrien, don't spontaneously combust now, it is okay, it is just a wink. She winks at you a lot when you are Chat. Trying to distract himself Adrien grabbed a croissant from the table and started chewing on it. Ladybug got up and jumped on his windowsill. "Sorry I have to cut this short but  need to go back home before my parents realise I sneaked out."
Adrien lifted his pastry in the way someone might lift a toast. "I hope our paths will croissant again."
He realised he fucked up in the moment when Ladybug fell from the windowsill.
“You didn’t say much since we got here.” Ladybug broke the silence that fell between them. “If you didn’t like heights… “
‘No, it is not that.” he replied quickly. “I was just taking in the sights.”
It wasn’t a lie. He always enjoyed the view of Paris from above, it was always breathtaking, no matter how used you get to it. But he imagined Ladybug got him to the absolute top of the Eiffel Tower tonight to show him a sight she imagined he had never seen.
“It is a favourite spot of mine, you know.” Ladybug’s features softened as she glanced into the distance. “Beautiful sight, isn’t it?”
Adrien looked at Ladybug, the way her hair and ribbons were fluttering in the wind, the way the lights were reflecting on her features and her sweet, content smile. He took a sharp intake of breath.
“Yeah, gorgeous.”
“So I guess you enjoy this little date, right?” she returned her attention to him.
“I am especially enjoying that you decided to share this wonderful spot with someone like meow.”
Adrien covered his mouth one second too late. Ladybug froze for a moment before looking at him with realization.
“Oh!” her gasp as so low he barely heard it. “Chat?”
He lowered his hand, and held her gaze as his lips curled into a small smile.
“Hey, Marinette.”

I have no self-control
Chat felt as if his heart was about to burst out of his chest and shatter into one million pieces. Marinette looked at him with despair in her eyes.
“Chat…” he bit his lip, trying to keep the tears from falling. “Please…”
He reached for her, cradling her head, and wet a small stream rn over his gloved fingers as her voice broke. “Please, I don’t wanna go.”
He could no longer hold his sobs as he felt Marinette simply disappear through his fingers. He was trying to grab something anything, hoping he could reach her somehow. His eyes were stinging from crying, but he didn’t care. He needed to reach Marinette, he needed…
“Chat, come on kitty.” Marinette said petting his head. “There there, everything is alright.
“And then you go thanosed.” Chat kept sobbing, soaking her pyjamas and totally ignoring the fact that she was here, very much alive and not vacuumed into an infinity stone.
Marinette rolled her eyes fondly. “I told you not to see the movie alone.” she scolded while running her fingers through Chat’s hair.
One fact that she knew after all their movie nights was that Chat was going to get nightmares from the smallest stuff.  She has seen Infinity War just one day before him and she just knew that it would be the kind of movie he will have nightmares about. She warned him, but whoever listens to her?
So of course, just when she was sleeping happily a distressed sobbing cat showed up on her balcony and started scratching at her window.
All the ruckus aside, though, she was happy to know she meant so much to Chat Noir. She leaned down and kissed his forehead. “Come on, pretty kitty, let’s get you some cookies. You are ought to feel better after that.”
It only took the world cookies for Chat’s face to lit up.

Hug Attack
So, I’ve seen a post floating around and it gave me some inspo for this short drabble.
"Any particular reason you are calling me in the middle of my brunch break?" Marinette asked while mixing some fruits in her oatmeal.
On the other hand, Alya huffed. "I give you free PR advice, and that's the thanks I get. Unacceptable."
Marinette rolled her eyes fondly. Being one of the greatest designers in the world (hey, Forbes' word choice, not hers) came with a lot of paparazzi's tailing her every move. She was very happy there were no magic villains attacking Paris daily, she was pretty sure she would have a much harder time dealing with that now, than back in her teenage years.
"Oh? Who am I having an affair with this week?"
"This time they aren't speculating on your non-existent extramarital affairs. They are accusing you off using your children for positive PR."
"As opposed to the bad PR that only comes from trashy paparazzi magazines." Marinette took a sip of her tea, entirely unaffected. "Can you send me the article?"
"Already did. I will see you for our lunch date?'
"Yeah, sure. Don't forget to order some garlic bread if I am running late. See you there."
"See you!"
Once Marinette closed the call, she checked the message from Alya with the attached screenshot. It was a picture from yesterday with her, Emma, Louis and Hugo and Adrien hugging. Marinette smiled at the memory.
She hummed as she was approaching the main entrance of the building while checking her watch. According to Adrien, they were supposed to be here soon to pick her up and then they will go have the dinner in the city and then go to their favorite gelateria for dessert. And, just in time, she thought with a smile as she exited the building, noticing the car which was parking just down the street. They barely got out of the car before Adrien shouted:
"Who can hug mom the fastest?"
Marinette braced herself as her children run to her, Louis jumping into her arms and Emma and Hugo wrapping themselves around her waist. Adrien got there just a slight second later and wrapped himself around them all, giving her a kiss on the forehead.
Marinette giggled. "Why, hello to all of you. I wasn't aware I am raising marathon runners."
Marinette's smile only grew. Opening her Twitter, she started typing. Time to roast some paparazzi.

Marichat May Day 1
My writing is obviously rusty. Have this crap.
Chat Noir liked to think he had a strong personality. Or at least quarter of Ladybug’s. He maybe did. Especially after Antibug, he really thought he would never give in too easily. But he had his weaknesses. Marinette, looking at him with her big blue eyes, and a sad face resemble a kitten in the rain, being one of them.
“Princess, it is okay. I will get home safe.” he tried to pull his hand out of hers, but Marinette had a steel grip and apparently, no will to let go. Dieu, why was she so strong? Did she fo wrestling in her spare time?
“You are injured,” she stated clearly. She would know, after all, she is the one who found him bleeding on her balcony and patched him up. But that was a long story and he would rather not think about it right now.
“Marinette… “ he tried again to convince her to let go. He really didn’t want to intrude more on her hospitality than he already did.
“Please stay the night. Please.”
Oh, fuck him backwards, how was he supposed to resist that face and that voice full of fondness? Quick answer: he wasn’t.
“I’m so weak. “ he whined covering his face with his other paw.
Marinette didn’t seem to care as she dragged him up to her chase lounge which now looked like an improvised bed. She tucked him in, under a soft pink blanket and kissed his forehead.
“I would cuddle you, but I you are still injured and I don’t want to get in your space.” she kissed his forehead. “Sleep well, Chaton.”
He will, if he won’t melt through the floor before that.

Marichat May Day 3
Im actualy happy with this one
Marinette sighed as she entered the house. Now she had a day from hell. School, akuma and a horrible essay for French Literature. All she wanted to do right now was to go to her room and fall asleep.
“Marinette dear, “ she almost jumped out of her skin and fell back down the stairs. Luckily she managed to catch herself in time. “We have some great news. We adopted a cat.”
Marinette almost fell down the stairs again. “A cat?”
Now that was weird. One thing Marinette was taught when growing up was that she wasn’t allowed pets because it could be a safety hazard for the bakery. Well, she was allowed to have a goldfish. The goldfish died after three days. She assumed the cat won’t end up the same way.
As Marinette entered the living room, following her mother, she wondered what colour the cat is. She would really like a black, green-eyed one. It was her favourite combination.
“There he is.” her mother said moving out of her way.
Too Marinette’s shock, on the couch, wrapped in a blanket and drinking hot cocoa, was Chat Noir.
“We know it might be surprising, but I am sure you two will get along great,” Tom explained. “He loves the Mecha Strike games.”
“We will just get downstairs to grab some macarons from the day. You two get to know each other better.”
Marinette barely processed the door closing behind her. She narrowed her eyes at Chat, tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for an answer.
“What?” he shrugged. “They offered to feed me.”

Oh! Merman! Adrien and Marinette?
It has been two weeks I’m so sorry.
“So why do you hide your body behind clothes?”
Marinette choked on her macaron, making Adrien give her a worried look. Okay, maybe hanging out with a merman wasn’t her best idea. From the many things she could do during her summer vacation at her Aunt Léonie’s place in Hyères, this was certainly not an option in the first place. But on her second day here she decided to go to explore the beauty of Côte d'Azur. She even brought a picnic basket along. She was sitting by the sea when she noticed a bunch of fish gathering around next to the shore and decided to throw them some bread crumbs.
She didn’t expect a blond, green-eyed, gorgeous man to appear out of the water asking if she would mind sharing a whole slice of bread. It resulted in Marinette screaming and almost breaking his nose with a punch. But after the incident, a bunch of apologies and explanations they ended up talking and she would even dare say, after a while, they were creating a friendship. But this friendship came with a lot of curious questions fro Adrien. And some of them could be really awkward. Like the current one.
“Because that’s how it works for us humans.” she mumbled, trying to hide her blush.
Adrien tilted his head curiously. “It is silly. If the rest of your body is as beautiful as your face, and I’m sure it is, why would you ever want to hide it?”
Marinette lowered her sun hat. She was sure her whole face was red at this point. She sometimes wished Adrien was a little bit more aware of the things that he was saying. Then again he was a merman with no concept of how the human world worked. She should cut him some slack.
“So when can I see you without clothes?” he asked innocently.
Marinette sighed, entirely resigned to the fact that he won’t let go of the subject so easily. So she just decided to give him the simplest answer possible. “People see each other naked if they are dating and are being intimate for example.”
Adrien chewed on his macaron thoughtfully then looked up at Marinette with a  smile. “Will you date and be intimate with me then?”
Marinette blinked at him. Then she took her hat off, hid her face in it and screamed.
Adrien looked at her in surprise before he asked. “Is that a yes?”
Marinette dropped the hat and sighed, somewhere between exasperation and motivation with a hint of amusement.
“It is an ‘I need to teach you about human customs’.”
“Sounds like fun!” he exclaimed happily while his tail flipped in the water. “Pass the cupcakes, please?”
Marinette lent him the plate with a big smile. Was befriending a merman the craziest thing she had done this summer? For sure. Did she regret it? Not in the slightest.

Knight Takes Queen
Hello everyone, this is a Marichat musketeers au. And I am gifting it to @therosecat8 for being such an awesome friend.
AO3
Warning: This an be considered M, even if just lightly
“My apologies sire, but the Queen requested to be left alone in her chambers. She locked the doors, no one is allowed to enter.”
Adrien Agreste, better known by his alias Chat Noir, looked in surprise at the servant. “My memory might fool me, but I believe I had an appointment with the Queen.”
Albeit, he didn’t make it under his name, he wanted to surprise her. But still, an appointment it was.
The maid simply shook her head. “The Queen requested all the meetings that she had today to either be postponed or canceled.”
Something was not right here. This wasn’t something the queen would do out of the blue, there must be a serious reason behind all of this. But it seemed the servant had a strong will that wasn’t close to bending anytime soon. So Chat decided there were other methods.
“Mademoiselle,” he took his hat off and bowed. “Thank you for your time.”
And with that, the musketeer turned around and disappeared through the halls of the palace.
--------------------------------
Adrien Agreste was known as Chat Noir. The black cat among the Musketeers. And for more than one reason. He took a glance down at the gardens under him. About four floors until the ground. Pretty impressive if he had to say so himself. He pushed the windows open with ease and steppe on the inner window still.
“Well, Your Majesty how come… “ the words froze in his throat at the sight before him.
The chamber was a mess. The furniture was sprawled all around the room, some of it broken. The curtains had been torn to pieces, as was a good part of the canopy of the bed. There were red stains on it and on the wall. And in the middle of the floor, a figure clad in red laid motionless.
“Marinette!” he shouted in panic, leaving courtesies aside and jumping in the room.
He touched her shoulder, turning her over slightly. there was no blood dripping from her, sans some small scratches. A good sign, a good sign.
“Marinette, Marinette. Mon amour, please, please…” his gloved hand reached for the pulse point on her neck. His heart almost jumped out of his chest as he searched for any sign that she was still alive. Anything, any small… there. There was a pulse. He could at least…
Marinette’s eyes snapped open, taking a second to focus properly, before glancing up at him.
Chat let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He couldn't put into words the wave of relief that just washed over him.
“Chat Noir?” she whispered, narrowing her eyes at him. “You are back?”
He stroked her cheek gently. “Yes, mon amour. But I… I thought you were dead.”
Her eyes hardened. “So did they. I believe I will be left alone for a little while.”
Chat’s jaw clenched. “The cardinal’s assassins? He really won’t stop until he has you dead, won’t he?”
She propped herself on her elbows and glared at nothing in particular. “Of course not. But I should be fine for a while. They will send him a report in Nantes or wherever the hell he is at the moment and that will take time.”
Chat got up, offering her a hand and helping her stand up. She sighed deeply before the gloomy look on her face disappeared, bein replaced by a playful one. She turned around and began playing with the lapels of his coat.
“And when did you get to back to Paris, my loyal musketeer?”
“Just last night, Your Highness. And I had to see you over some very important matters.”
“Oh,” she hummed, reaching for his hat, taking it off and throwing it aside without a care. “And what is the important matter?”
Chat smiled down at her and shrugged his coat to the side, revealing the red ribbon with a small golden ladybug charm, wrapped around his upper arm. Her expression softened.
“You still have it.”
---------------------
*2 weeks prior*
“I do hope this is a good enough farewell gift for you, my queen.” he said cockily while getting up from the floor.
Marinette was leaning against her writing desk, the skirts of her dress crumpled and her hair a disheveled mess.
“My, you certainly know your gifts.” she managed to say through ragged breaths. “I will miss you and your… uncomparable skills while you are away in Calais.”
Chat took her hand and kissed the back of her knuckles. “No more than I will miss you.” he whispered against her skin.
“Then maybe I should give you something to remember me by.” she stated and he wasn’t sure if she meant literally or was just teasing him.
Slowly, she reached for the complicated updo her hair was put in and pulled out a red ribbon, letting the dark locks fall free over her shoulders. The moonlight filtering through the window gave it a blue tint, making her look almost otherworldly. Chat wondered yet again how in the world he managed to win the love of the most beautiful woman in the world. She raised the ribbon between them, then gently grabbed a golden ladybug sewn into the ribbon. Slowly she brought the amulet to her lips and pressed a kiss against it.
“For good luck,” she told him as she began wrapping it around his arm. “For my most loyal musketeer.”
--------------------------
“Of course I have it.” he said, while stroking her hair. “Losing the queen’s favor would have been quite horrible, wouldn’t it? It did indeed bring me luck.”
Marinette smiled at him, he fingers playing with the laces of his shirt. “And the spy cell of the Cardinal up there?”
His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. “Oh, there was this horrible fire, and the hut of the so-called fisherman burned to the ground with them all inside. Tragical really, I wish I could have saved more than just a book of reports from there.”
Marinette’s smile grew as he took out a small leader wrapped journal and set it on her writing desk.
“Oh, Chaton, you are truly the best thing I had found in this wretched land.” her voice dropped and her blue eyes glinted mischievously as she whispered the next words. “Now how shall I compensate you for your efforts?”
The question was rhetorical, of course. If her playful tone wasn’t enough of the hint, the fact that she was pushing him back to the bed (with a surprising amount of force for such a petite woman) certainly said enough.
“Wait, wait, wait.” he pleaded, getting a hold of her hands to stop her from ripping his shirt open. “You’ve been attacked, you got some small wounds, shouldn’t you see a healer or… “
Marinette placed her index finger over his lips. “You are sweet to care, Chaton, but I am perfectly fine. I won’t die from a couple of scratches. Now do I need to command you to get undresses and help me break the bed or will you be a good kitten and do it on your own.”
Chat smirked, amused by her antics. “Well, if my queen wishes so, I can’t refuse her.”
In a quick movement, he shed his coat, letting it pool in a heap on the floor as his arms wrapped around Marinette bringing her as close as possible. They lips clashed together as he moved closer to the bed, almost carrying Marinette in his arms at this point.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, a voice was telling him that a musketeer of the king has no place bedding the queen. But frankly, Chat Noir couldn’t care less and he was no musketeer of the king. He was hers. Her musketeer, lover, confident and whatever else she needed him to be. All the laws could go to hell, along with the cardinal and his warmongering plots and King Theo and his crass incompetence and ostentatiousness. As far as he was concerned, the queen was the only one capable of doing something for the kingdom and its people and he had decided a long time ago to protect her. It was just that along the way he might have fallen madly in love with her cleverness, stubbornness, wit, and kindness. And he couldn't regret it for one second.
“Chat… “ Marinette whispered against his lips as they broke their kiss to catch their breaths.
“I love you.” he stated loudly cupping her face and looking into her eyes, hoping she could see his honesty. It was the first time when he said it out loud.
“Oh,” Marinette gave him a bright smile. “Oh, minou, I know.”
And with that, he pulled him in another long, passionate kiss. Chat Noir smiled against her lips. the night was young and they intended to make most out of it.
