Do we ever talk about this?  Emma specifically choosing to wear a red leather jacket after Tallahassee was telling enough.  The specific thing the ‘ex’ wore.  But then to show she picked it up the same day she reconsidered looking for her family.   Suiting up into complete zip up hoodie/red leather jacket Neal Cassidy cosplay.  In a episode titled ‘Firebird’ no less.

Well hello everyone! It’s that time again! Time for the Get To Know Me Interviews!!!

Since the CSSNS is my brainchild, I’ll go first, with Laura’s posting tomorrow. Since Hollye is writing for the event, her GTKM will post later on with the other third wave authors. So without further ado...

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

I joined the fandom on Tumblr summer of 2016. I binged OUAT summer of ‘15, then joined tumblr after meeting @flslp87 and @duathadun over on Facebook.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

I loved them from the beginning. When they met in The Doctor. I was gone for them when she grabbed him in Tallahassee. And they were my forever, ride or die, I’ll go down with this ship, OTP in Good Form.

What drew you to this event?

It’s my baby! After a discussion about 16mos ago with @snowbellewells about the lack of werewolf fics out there, the idea was born! Last year’s event was such a success and so much fun, that we decided to do it again this year!

Who/what have you beta'd before, or is this your first time?

I started betaing, I guess, about 2 years ago. If I’m not mistaken, it was for @donteattheappleshook’s continuation of her then 2 shot Of Cars and Bars, still one of my all time favorite fics... damn, now I need to go read it again... I’ve since betaed for @branlovestowrite , @hollyethecurious , @artistic-writer , @doodlelolly0910 , @courtorderedcake and @ashar663 who has deactivated.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Why I like them: Caroline is so precious! She tries so hard, she’s kind and compassionate and she desperately wants to be good and control her vampire side. I love that she cares so much about people, like how she stayed with Tyler during his first transformation, even at risk to herself. And I love her neurotic and anal-retentive side.

Why I don’t: I guess she can be a bit oblivious but that’s about it

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter/song that you first started shipping 5? 

Their first tutoring session with the Cracker Jack box and the bracelet. "Don't say I never gave you anything." DEAD. Also, low key disappointed I never got a bracelet in one of those things.

2. Have you ever read fanfiction about 2? 

Yes. And let me tell you: Rumbelle fanfiction is the smuttiest of smut.  Like you think it can't get any smuttier and then bam, they're using candy as foreplay. (One of my favorite fics by the way!)

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screensaver/profile picture/tumblr ID? 

Not on Tumblr, but on YouTube and my Facebook fan page for my writing, yes. 

4. If 3 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

I would quit the show. I say that a lot but seriously if Snowing broke up, I'd be done. They're the epitome of true love. Curses and villains couldn't tear them apart, they share a heart. Their breakup...just...no.

5. Why is 1 so important? 

Emma and Neal have been through similar stuff. Emma grew up feeling unloved and abandoned, she constantly felt the need to run away because she couldn't find her home. Neal's childhood was good at first but then he had to escape it. Yet, he missed it and was trying to find a new home. They understood each other. They were each other's first true loves in the romantic sense. Yes, he did some shitty stuff, but he regretted it every day and tried to make it right. He never tried to force Emma to be with him. Before he died, he said he just wanted her to be happy, to find Tallahassee even without him. Some other love interests have made it seem like their way or the highway but Neal just wants her happiness. You see, when you've been through so much, all you want is for those you love to be happy. The idea of Tallahassee, it wasn't really the town, but what it meant: a forever home for them both, to be loved and give love they felt they never had. (I know Rumple loved Neal but he didn't feel it at the time, same with Emma and Snowing.) And as I wrote this, Only You came on. THE FEELS!

6. Is 4 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Serious. Oh so serious.

7. Out of all your ships listed, which has the most chemistry? 

Oh this is tough. I'd say it's a mix between Rumbelle and Brallie. When I see both, I can't picture them with anyone else. Just the way Rumple looks at Belle, like she's the most precious thing on this earth. I mean Skin Deep, the whole thing was like..swoon. Brallie has those moments too. Emilie and Bobby have done a great job still showing this during what A&E have put them through. And Maia&David passes several chemistry screenings, so there ya go. 

I think Snowing has great chemistry when they're allowed to show it, but that rarely happens anymore. I attribute it to Josh and Ginny on the occasions they can. Their real life relationship makes me smile so much.

8. Of all of the ships, which has the strongest bond? Hmm...I think I'd say Brandon and Callie. Even when they're not together, they're still close and routing for the other to be happy and succeed. The look on Callie's face every time B performs gives me chills. The rest, it seems when they're apart, they just don't have it, you know? 

9. How many times have you read/watched 2′s fandom? Too many to count lol.

10. Which ship lasted the longest? 

This is a hard one. Because while Snowing was technically still married during the curse, they didn't know each other and were with other people. So even though they've been together for like 30+ years, I have to give it to Nathan and Haley. Started in high school and they were meant to be in mid to late 30s in the finale.

11. How many times, if ever, has 5 broken up?

It depends how you define broken up. Because in season 1, they had a couple small fights where they made up within the episode. Then they broke up in season 2/3 when Haley went on tour and again in season 5 when Haley overreacted to the whole Carrie thing. So technically, I only count twice. The other times they didn't break up, they just fought. 

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would survive, 1 or 3? 

I feel like the writers would want us to think Snowing, but Emma has powers and crap, so Swanfire.

13. Did 4 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason? Is water wet?

Yes, they hid their relationship/feelings for a very, very long time.

14. Is 5 still together? 

As of the end of the show, yes.

15. Is 1 canon?

They were. And the fact that they were each other's first romantic true loves is. But they, themselves, are sadly not.

16. If all 5 couples were put into a couples Hunger Games, which couple would win?

Rumbelle. But I feel like he wouldn't want to take out his son...so he'd probably die to save Neal. So, I guess Swanfire actually. But then, Emma wouldn't let Snowing die and they wouldn't let her either, so they'd all die. I guess Nathan and Haley then, because Brandon and Callie would die while trying to save the other with their luck.

17. Has anyone ever tried to sabotage 5s ship?

Yes. But they never succeeded for good because: Always and forever baby!!!

18. Which ships would you defend to death and beyond? 

All of these. Except Naley because it's like the one ship on this list that I wouldn't have to. 99.9% of OTH fans wanted Naley haha. 

19. Have you ever spent hours going through 3′s tumblr page? No, not really. I think because they're still canon, I end up torturing myself with the ones that aren't right now (Brallie, Swanfire and Rumbelle)

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you you had to pick one of the ships to break up forever, which would you break up? 

Oh God, could I have Rumple kill this witch for me?

If I had to pick...I guess Swanfire because one half of them is already dead.

SWANFIRE APPRECIATION WEEK - DAY 3

Teen!Swanfire - “....Shouldn’t we be running?”  “That would probably be for the best, yes.”

Emma had met Neal a few weeks ago. She had learned that he came from a broken home, he didn’t mention where he came from though. But she could relate to him. And despite being always let down in life, she just felt that she could trust him. She had found a friend in him. Actually no, it was more than that. But she couldn’t put a finger on what it was, not yet. Neal, on the other hand had spent his entire life running away from place to place (realms to realms). He had seen much of life, even briefly staying with a family. But nothing ever came close to home until he met Emma. Maybe it was because he never stayed anywhere for too long, maybe it was because he never gave himself a chance, or maybe it was just fate. Neal and Emma grew closer. Their growing relationship was their safe haven. It felt as if they were each other’s missing puzzle piece.

Love conquers all but a life on the streets wasn’t easy. Emma and Neal were pushed into circumstances where robbing off convenient stores was their only way to survive and it wasn’t new to them. After all, stealing a car was how Emma met Neal. But doing it together was something new.

It was a rainy evening when they decided to enter a store that was located downtown. It was already dark outside and heavy rains meant less people. The two entered through the gates of the store and the cashier was sitting at the front desk, watching television. He nodded when he saw them walk in. Apart from them, there was only one other person there. He was a tall man, buying cigarettes. Emma could see the man from her aisle. She quietly moved through and grabbed small packets of M&M’s. Neal was on the other side, he took two soda cans from the mini refrigerator and shoved them in the inner pockets of his puffy jacket. It had been more than 15 minutes but cashier’s eyes were still glued to the television set. But suddenly, he got up and shouted “Hey!”. Emma started to panic thinking she had been caught. Neal, who could see the cashier from his aisle, saw that he had gotten into a scuffle with the other customer. Apparently he had seen the other customer shoplifting some items. “Don’t you move. I am calling the police!” Neal heard the cashier say. Emma and Neal walked to each other. The tall man pushed the cashier and started running. The cashier got up and ran after him. Emma looked at Neal. They were both standing still. “Shouldn’t we be running too?” She asked. “That would probably be for the best, yes” Neal said. Both kids burst out of the store and ran in the pouring rain. They didn’t stop until they reached a bus stop where they waited for a while before hopping on a bus.

OHHHH MY GSOH THE BIT ABOUT HENRY!!! HOW HAVE I NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!!!

For the ship thing: Swanfire?

OTP / I SHIP IT / hELL YES / would read a fic about it / Soulmates / underrated / We need(ed) more of it

Swanfire got such a lousy and unfair treatment didn’t it? My god. We’ve talked a lot about this pairing over the years, I mean every Swanfire shipper has said the same things I say and we all know it’s true. 

Swanfire was supposed to be Emma’s main pairing. It’s obvious. Neal and Emma were meant for each other, they had so many things in common and their union carried so many interesting connections and implications. Such as Henry being the product of True Love as well so he could carry on being the Savior in another curse. Or the son of the Dark One -who was supposed to be the original Savior-, falling in love with a subsequent Savior, the daughter of the example couple for demonstrating True Love. Which the Dark One helped saving their daughter, so inadvertently he helped his son get his True Love and happy ending. 

And these are just on the top of my head, I could find a thousand more parallels, conections and reasons on why Swanfire was supposed to be a main element of the story that was originally created for Once Upon A Time. They were supposed to be the couple that would hold nicely both to our modern world and the world of magic, it would showcase struggles and issues and attitudes that modern couples have, something that couldn’t really be shown by any other couple over there since most of the characters were old timers fairytale folks that assumed personas in the modern world and adapted. Emma and Neal were the only ones that actually lived as modern people in our modern world for years and years. 

As I always say they were supposd to be the “grey couple” in the sliding scale of True Love couples/characters and subsequently the issues they would phase would be as well.
