Remember how this was actually a thing that happened?

They actually had Sam send several texts to Castiel and then stare at the lack of response like a lovesick forlorn thirteen year old. Supernatural did that. And then had them gasp each other's names when they were reunited like they were long lost lovers who thought they'd never see each other again.

Really, the last three seasons of Supernatural were underrated.

This is why I've always loved their relationship, because it's exactly the kind of relationship I have always had and always wanted. No yelling, no fighting, just simply being at ease in each other's company and understanding. Sastiel echoes my desires, and it's why I love Sastiel the best.

I can’t get over Sam and Castiel’s casual soft touches and the way they move so comfortably in each other’s spaces. Where some people might see a lack of tension, I see two people at ease and in tune with each other. They don’t have to walk around on eggshells when they’re alone, and especially in later seasons they’re extremely good at reading each other without words. 

You don’t have to fight all the time for love to be meaningful. Deep connections don’t have to be flashy and in your face. Desperation and public passion aren’t the only way to emote strong feelings (although they would die for another too). There’s also trust, forgiving and never giving up on each other.

Why does no one ever talk about the fact that the first, the VERY first, episode in which Castiel expresses doubt about Heaven also just so happens to be the episode in which Castiel meets Sam for the first time? Sam, supposedly an abomination, an instrument of Hell, falls all over himself in immediate worship of Castiel, while Dean, supposedly an instrument of Heaven, shows nothing but disdain for him. Sure, it's Dean that Castiel confesses having doubts to, but I truly think that meeting Sam is what made him admit to them.

Not me sobbing at 3 AM thinking about how Castiel never once gave up on or abandoned Sam the whole time they knew each other and vice versa. They loved and accepted each other unconditionally always 😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍

This. A million times this. It not only encapsulates why I love Sastiel but why my love of them came to be in the first place. It wasn't until I realized that Dean's an abuser that I was able to see how beautiful Sam and Castiel's relationship is. Dean is the focus of Supernatural. It might as well be called The Dean Show. But once you understand that Dean isn't a character worth emotionally investing in in a positive way you can truly see how wonderful the relationships between the other characters are.

All that to say Sastiel is beautiful and more people should pay attention to them.

i think the main reason why i prefer sastiel over destiel is because there’s just this wonderful understanding and respect between sam and cas that cas and dean never had. sam is also the one who always treats cas like an actual person. sam actually respects the choices that cas makes instead of making it all about himself (like dean tends to do).

dean’s love for cas (and really anyone who isn’t sam) has always felt conditional. he cares about them as long as they don’t go against him. then when they decide to do their own thing he lashes out and maybe even physically or verbally abuses them. that’s obviously mostly because of his abandonment issues but i still don’t think it’s okay and i don’t want cas (or anyone obviously) to be treated like that.

idk i just feel like cas deserves better than dean. he deserves to be with someone who loves him for who he is and who trusts him and respects the decisions he makes and that’s always been sam, not dean.

I showed my boyfriend the look Sam and Castiel share when Castiel comes to life in 13x06, the way they gasped each other's names when Castiel came back to the bunker in 15x07, and told him about 14x15(the bed sharing and beautiful hair), and he said he could totally see it, and that it was a lot more blatant than he'd always assumed. Especially the look they share in 13x06. Like come on.

Anyways Sam and Castiel love each other and their relationship is so much healthier than the relationship either of them have with Dean and they 100% belong together the writers were cowards
