I met amazing people during those 10months, and I also had the pleasure to meet their amazing OCs and learn their stories. If not for them, I would’ve never got interested in those other NPCs, they gave me a whole new view and opinion on them and I think that’s what fandom is all about, sharing and connecting with people!

Some of them became really close friends and I’ll be forever thankful for this game and what it bought to my everyday life

"There, top of the world, Johnny. Looking good, eh?" Eli pulled herself up one last time and, wide smile gracing her features, stretched arms above her head. Nothing changed about the tower, nor about Night City - bloody red antenna lights were still in place, giving off an ominous atmosphere, panorama and the spectre of neon lights filling the horizon. Johnny joined her only a moment later; it took him some effort to keep up with climbing little nooks in the building, and he didn't hesitate to let Eli know just how much it cost him - rubbing at the sore muscles with a scrunched nose. "Felt kinda... Easier, last time," he stated, looking around. Wind was relentless at such height, whipping through his hair, and it was nice, refreshing - but he still wondered about the purpose of their visit, stubborn merc keeping it secret. "Because last time it was only me climbing. Come on, let's sit - get comfortable." Johnny snorted, shaking his head, but joined Eli on the edge of a little viewpoint. Flesh arm wrapped around her shoulders tightly, she didn't take the jacket, she's gonna be cold soon, god damn it. "We've already been here, I've seen it all." "This time though, feel it." And he didn't need much more.

Happy birthday, Johnny!

time to get very, very emo and very, very freaky in very, very public, l e t s g o

it’s been some wild, wild time for me. from seeing the game trailer for the first time two years ago, seeing Johnny for the first time and immediately getting interested in his character - through creating my Eli in March last year - first gameplay back in December, learning his story for the first time - joining the fandom in February, and since then developing so much lore, finding bits and pieces of his background in both sourcebooks and the game, meeting so many amazing people holding so much support and creativity - to now, November, on the canon date of his birthday.

I can’t explain in words how much this specific point in time makes me feel? how much this little set of pixels hold, his character and all he stands for; and I’m talking about Robert J. Linder here, him, not the face of the actor whom he ended up wearing in the game.

I wish for many things, to be honest. for people to view him as something more as just a chain-smoking punk asshole, for them to see just how much depth there is to him - how much trauma, coping mechanisms, how much tragedy and background his character hold, how much lore there is that hasn’t been even nibbled on, throughout the gameplay. I wish he was more than just a face, a joke, a meme, a surface and facade that’s in fact absolutely tragic.

and yet, I’m happy - the happiest, that I discovered so many things already, and there’s still so much more to uncover. I can’t put in words just how much joy, excitement, euphoria, laugh and tears, happy and sad, just how much emotions he brought me, how much passion and creativity he awakened in me. how many amazing people I’ve met thanks to my love for him, for the game, with whom I can share all that, and I’ll be forever thankful for that, and, it all just keeps going, while Cyberpunk soon has its 1st anniversary.
