Here's the current status of my ANR collection. This anime surprisingly got a LOT of merchandise, and I am determined to hunt down every last piece

did anyone else watch Akuma no Riddle, look at some of the girls and go "why are you here?"

what I mean by that is I'm asking how they ended up in Class Black because while some of them have certain factors adding in to them being in Class Black I feel like others don't and it just makes me wonder in how the hell they ended up getting into Class Black

because Haru is the target so she's obviously in there(and also because of other stuff with like her bloodline and stuff? I don't know I watched Akuma no Riddle and then immediately forgot some things)

Tokaku us from the Azuma family, a very prominent family of assassins so I guess she got in because of her bloodline? (again, I don't remember well)

I think Sumireko had a similar case to Haru where it was about bloodline stuff?

Kouko, Shiena and Hitsugi are all from large organizations, two of them being more assassin based(at least I don't think Collective Dismissal is an assassination organization and now that I think about it I think maybe Shiena was in Class Black only to kill Otoya since Otoya killed someone from Collective Dismissal)

I don't really know about Isuke but since her mother is already an assassin and since I think he's a pretty good one maybe that influenced her getting a spot in Class Black? (on top of her also being an assassin that I assume is good at her job)

now for the ones I'm asking why they're in Class Black

Haruki I guess could fall on the border of having a reason on why she's in Class Black since she was already working as an assassin and maybe that got the attention of everyone behind Class Black

both Otoya and Banba were serial killers so that's probably what got them in but I'm just wondering how the people behind Class Black even knew about them being serial killers since Otoya says she had been doing pretty well as a serial killer and only had a single detective on her tail she was trying to get rid of

Suzu is mostly just a normal girl(apart from her Highlander Syndrome) so I don't know how she ended up in Class Black

and then out of everyone I'm pretty sure Chitaru is the most normal person and she's somehow in Class Black. Maybe her mentor(at least I think it was her mentor) had some connections and got her in? I seriously don't know

also I'm not including Nio here because she was already someone who was behind Class Black

5. Episode 13 (the OVA) - Who's the Winner?: The mandatory beach episode. Pretty anime girls in swimsuits makes my weeb heart soar. Also it's very slapstick and silly, which I appreciate.

4. Episode 9 - What Dwells in the Heart? (Make-Up Test): Isuke and Tokaku both get development here, and it finishes up the battle that starts in...

3. Episode 8 - Which Gatekeeper is the One Who Lies?: Banba's episode where she goes around and smashes stuff with a giant hammer. You love to see it.

2. Episode 10 - Who Is The Queen?: Sumireko makes her move and SHE'S A CYBORG. Also OTOYA COMES BACK BABY. It's like MGR, it's dumb as hell but I love it.

1. Episode 3 - What's Red, But Isn't Red?: Otoya's premiere episode that solidified her as one of my favorite characters of all time. Means a heck of a lot to me.

Favorite character

- What did I just say?! Otoya Takechi, the purple serial killer of my heart (even if she's very much into the girls and I am not a girl. RIP)

Least favorite character

- Hitsugi was always the one member of the Black Class that I never really liked or care for; murder baby just doesn't gel with me much.

OTP

- Of the paired roommates: Tokaku/Haru is the main big cute showpiece, Isuke/Haruki and Sumireko/Banba are both great, and Otoya/Shiena is dysfunctional and sinful - adore that one.

Favorite non-romantic relationship

- I like how much Tokaku just... absolutely hates Nio, while Nio just eggs her own and is a gremlin. Love that shit.

Favorite villain/arc

- OTOYA BABY, THE MURDER PRINCESS

Least favorite villain/arc

- Again, Hitsuki.

Songs I associate with it and why:

- "Can't Sleep, Can't Breath," by Digital Daggers, was the song that won me an AMV contest a long time ago, and I still think it fits the series to a T.

- All the character endings - tons of rocking final ED songs that make for an awesome soundtrack!
