Ok I hate to really be THAT person but Type O Negative isn't a goth band

#I have people yelling at me in the notes for not including them #...but they're a doom/gothic metal band and gothic metal isn't goth...sorry to be that elitist #just because they made dark music and are adored to pieces by goths doesn't make em goth #...although Peter Steele was definitely goth!!...he liked Lycia and Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance and Bauhaus and Clan of Xymox #And a whole bunch of other staple goth bands #Sorry Type O fans

GOOB!!! says mlady unironically. likes bad computer games. wears a stupid tie everyday. cartoonishly schemes 24/7 #enho for the record is also a pretty angry person. they just dont rlly express it. they dont express much of anything lol.#shes semiverbal on a talkative day. he can be REALLY REALLY PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE THO. THAT MF CAN BE SO PETTY. i think its utterly vital that you find some sort of orchestral or symphonic music that you like. classical, baroque, contemporary, a soundtrack, it doesnt matter!! just something that you enjoy.

also currently trying 2 talk my mum in2 doing a trip in august to see family out west who i havent seen since i was single digits in age and like. i genuinely for realsies want 2 see those aunts n uncles but also...... i kinda really just wanna see metallica live. this is just a 2 birds 1 stone type of situation. srry 2 my aunts n uncles. yall r at least 55% an excuse 2 go out there in the first place.

#WHYYYY couldnt i have gotten in2 metallica LAST YEAR #WHEN THEY ACTUALLY TOURED THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY #im like. 40 years late 2 the party. ive literally always thought they were overrated assholes. NOW look at me 🙄#id say its an age thing but actually im sure there are still ppl my age and younger 4 whom metallica is their Gateway Metal Band #and actually one of my biggest gateway bands was a7x. which ppl call(ed?) metallica ripoffs. so who knows really #i managed 2 come around on liking death metal b4 i got metallica 2 click 4 me. probably not the standard Metal Subgenre Journey #real talk tho i get stuck in these music modes where i only listen 2 a narrow slice of things for weeks on end #and i have been in a 24/7 metallica lockdown for like at least 3 fucking weeks already LET ME OOOUUTTTT #the only concession ive been able 2 wrangle from my brain is a sprinkling of megadeth of all fucking things #Yet Another Band ive only just learned 2 appreciate but actually rust in peace is a fucking banger so thats ok i suppose.#still. would be nice perhaps. to maybe listen to any of the 10 million OTHER types of music i also enjoy. sometime soon pls brain. 🙏

I used to have just a few playlists that I would listen to on occasion when I was in the mood for them and I did that by genre. Whenever I wasn't in the mood for that I'd listen to my liked songs on shuffle and skip thru till I found whatever I was in the mood for and usually ended up searching & queueing songs (SoundCloud)

But then I started using Spotify and I don't pay for shit and so obviously I couldn't skip anymore, so I started having to use more playlists n such

But of course I was also discovering more music, and would go through mini phases of discovering new artists and genres n stuff, and I would get a few songs I really really liked from time to time

I started off with just a 'favorites' playlist, but as I said, mini phases

So I made a 'want to hear more playlist' and then that hit about 30 songs and I was in another phase so I made a 'want to hear more 2' and then 3 and then 4 and so on

So I have about 15 now, each with about 20-30 songs in them, and I have a massive 'want to hear more (all)' playlist as well as my old 'favorites' playlist, an 'ultra fave' and a 'new fave' playlist (ultra fave being all-time favorites, and new fave replacing my old favorites playlist)

And then of course on top of that I still have playlists by genre and sometimes artists or groups of artists with similar vibes

#like I have an Avenged Sevenfold playlist #I have jammin & singin playlists for music I like to dance around to while I clean #and for music I know & like to sing the words to #I have a workout and soft music playlist #I have a jazz playlist and I have a metal playlist(I need to make a new metal one- I don't really like the songs in it I kinda just threw-#-any metal I came across in there lol) I also have rock #my other artists playlists are Finger Eleven and Twleve Foot Ninja (together)#and 32 Leaves and Depswa (together)#and then I have a few misc playlists #like 'songs that are very Time Signature'#another one that matches my walking tempo #'feels like 2000's' a playlist that has music that isn't necessarily all from the 2000's but reminds me of my childhood #and being in the car listening to music #I have ':(((' and ':)' and '<33' and '💔' and 'angy' playlists #and I've got a bunch more that I don't listen to anymore but I keep all my playlists #I have HOLY SHIT #77 total playlists Oml #I did NOT know I had that many #but yeah #four main types of playlists for me: by genre- by personal taste at that time-vibe/feelings- or just whatever the fuck
