Mlvn hasn’t had any decent fanartists since S3. If you look at mileven art all the good ones are S3 or before outfits. The only artist that can sort of draw is in Twitter and they’re a bully that is a proud transphobe. When you point this out to them they just say they don’t have fanart or fics because “they have canon”. Well sorry your fandom has no creativity; that’s really sad 😭

THE SHADE OF IT ALL 🏖️🕶️

Now, as to why do I personally think that people are emotionally attached to Mileven? Well, it's like this. Just an unwillingness to engage deeper with the material. Being disinterested in change - yes, Mike and El have had something since the beginning. Their characters are joined - but it's about the journey of finding the real way for them to be that important part of each other's lives. And relationship change. A lot of people don't like that. Mileven fans are also frustrated because they haven't had the kind of moments that Will and Mike have had - so they keep saying "they've been building Mike and El up since season 1." Hate that statement. They've been building up every character since season 1? The whole show is a story and we're still a whole season from the end? No one's arc is done. Building to anything, it's all being built for the conclusion. No one is done.

Surface level. Boy and girl paired together, boy and girl cute. El kind of is the lead, they want the lead to have a boyfriend. El (more accurately, MBB) stans who need El to have a BF. Mike (again more accurately, Finn) stans who need the GF. Because they're vicariously living through these characters and/or actors. Dudes who watch the show and Mike is their nerd bro self insert and having the cool superhero GF is important. Yes, a ton of homophobia. It could be many things, none of these, a combination. I don't think all people who like and still support that relationship are bad people - they got the incorrect interpretation of the show, however. For sure.

There's the fact that it is a canon ship and a lot of people in fandom these days will only engage with a canon ship. Or there's disappointment and disbelief the thing they like about the show may have been something else this whole time. Mike and El break up? There's a desperation to hold on to the ship they might have liked for whatever reason for years. I can kind of understand that part in a way...

The fact that you are so amazing is constantly proven by the community you've created. Every time I see a familiar face who shares some new stuff I genuinely smile. Goat annon comes with another little thing about their group? Yay! Height King came to say hello? YIPPEEEEE (Height King is my personal favorite they're very sweet)! Snowflake annon? Pizza annon? Fried eggs annon? Themainhome? Some other person I've forgotten due to bad memory? YA FUCKING HOOOOOOOOO

I used to not be super interested in social media or Tumblr or anything else but YOUR blog changed that. Be proud of yourself, your art, your community, your progress and everything, because, and I think I'm speaking for everyone here, we are already very proud of all of that!
