As the rain fell heavily, Kakashi pulled his flak jacket tighter around them. “Here, come closer,” he said, nudging Kai. “You’ll catch a cold if you get soaked.”

“Eh, seriously?” Kai raised an eyebrow, trying to play it cool.

“Yep. I don’t want to listen to you sneeze all day,” Kakashi replied while his eyes expressed a smirk.

Kai rolled her eyes but shifted closer, the playful grin spreading on her face. “And here I thought you just wanted an excuse to be close to me!”

“Maybe I did,” Kakashi replied, his tone teasing. The warmth between them felt nice, the rain creating a cozy little world just for them. In that moment, it was easy to forget about everything else.

So, the rain season just started in my state and I couldn't help but joining the mood ✨ I dunno why, but I feel that the rain just always gives me a soft and loving feeling, I wanted a piece with these two nerds right here that could show such feelings, and here it is!

The thing is. I truly think Jiraiya is a compelling character. And of course it's hard to engage with the Sannin without also enjoying him. But it's truly impossible to like him without creating your own little version that ignores several layers of shitty early 2000s Anime Bullshit

How do you think people would react to Madeline showing interest in someone. Or better yet, how do you think kakuzo felt if he did notice how she was eyeing up Hidan in that one scene? I was imagining disgust and then immediately shoving it deep deep down and repressing the memory. It seems to be a talent he and Madeline both possess in spades.

How did Kakuzu feel if he noticed Maddie looking at Hidan? Probably that she's young to be checking out strange men, given she's a few days shy of eleven. Maybe that she has poor taste. (Maybe that she has Kakuzu's poor taste.)

It's just kind of average for girls to be attracted to conventionally handsome young men. Even ones doing unhinged shit. And, like, everyone who has ever been attracted to Hidan or Kakuzu has been fine with men doing unhinged shit, so I doubt that even registers.

So I don't really think that either of them would think very deeply about the implications of a girl being attracted to a man. Hidan might, if it gives him the opportunity to tease her? But he's pretty dedicated to his devotions and in this case I doubt he'd have noticed.

Honestly I think Maddie's more prurient interests are of much more interest to the grannies and mamas in Hatomachi (who are, after all, a lot more prone to tittering about the dire necessity of young women getting married and having babies) than they are to Hidan or Kakuzu.
