The irony isn’t lost on me, believe me

Steampunk!AU IchiHomu Headcanon! (Because you got me helpless both this au and this ship - I hope you're satisfied :P) Loosely inspired by the song 'La Flamme a Lunettes'. When they first come to know each other, Ichi fixed Homura's things for her at Jyushi's request. After he finds himself in love, he often spends his time creating inventions for her - little clockwork dolls that dance and chirp. Ichi lets his machines flirt and sing to her, since he's too scared to do it himself.

Awww, that’s such a sweet headcanon! ;/////; Kinda sad too that he can’t bring himself to woo her in person… But it’s also got me wondering if he’d even give away his identity as the person who made these dolls for her? Knowing Ichi, he might be too shy/embarrassed to, and/or he’d worry that Homura would reject him as soon as she knew it was him (“Why’d she be interested in me, anyway? There’s nothing about me she’d like in that way…”); so I can see him keeping his identity secret and leaving Homura to wonder who her mysterious admirer is. And now I’m sad :(

…To make it sadder, I can also see Ichi sabotaging his own chances with Homura by attributing the dolls to Jyushi instead. (And maybe he even makes Jyushi play along? Which Jyushi does because, “If that’s what niisan wants, I’ll do it!!”) And this of course makes Homura fall in love with Jyushi even more and they get together, leaving Ichi to watch in the shadows while his heart gets torn to shreds. (”It’s better this way, isn’t it? She’s with someone who’s much better than me and will make her happy… If only I were better myself…”) :(

Option # 2 is if you want Ichi to pull an Angelica Schuyler and sacrifice his happiness for his best brother’s own yet again; but if not, we can stick with Option #1 where Ichi doesn’t attribute his clockwork dolls to anyone else, but keeps his identity secret. Unfortunately, either he tells Homura too late or never even gets the chance to, because she still ends up falling for Jyushi and choosing him over Ichi anyway. Poor Ichi just can’t win this one, can he? :(

Haha I see where you’re going with this :P

I actually have two ideas for fics that could go with this title, but both involve a certain OT3 of mine. To no one’s surprise. 

Idea 1: More of a oneshot introspection piece-slash-character study than anything else, about Jyushi and his relationships with both Ichi and Homura. All three are hanging out, and Jyushi can’t help but observe the other two. He’s thinking about these relationships, realizing that his best brother and his girlfriend actually have a lot in common, especially in… really sad departments. :( He can’t claim to know or fully understand what both are going through; but in the end he makes up his mind to stand by both, and to provide them with as much laughs and hope as needed to help them hold on, as hard as it can be sometimes. 

Idea 2: AU in which IchiHomuJyushi are in a polyamorous relationship :’D It’s probably be just a series of short, silly slice-of-life oneshots set in the same ‘verse about, well, exactly that - what Ichi, Jyushi and Homura’s lives would be if they were in that sort of relationship. Some parts would have JyushiHomu, some parts would have IchiHomu, some parts would have Suujimatsu being best of boys + brothers (no I’m not shipping them), some parts would have all three together. Either way, plenty of love to go around, and Homura gets to smooch and do naughty things with both boys without anyone having to feel bad ;w;
