Ostara hot crossed buns recipe

I make these every ostara and now and then when I am hungry for some buns. Sorry if the instructions aren’t clear, I have it written like this in my bos :DD

makes about 6 bigger buns

Heat 3/4 cup of milk, add 4 tbs of yeast, add in 1/3 of a cup (less than 1/2 cup) crystal sugar, 3 small eggs, almost 1/2 cup of oil , 3 3/4 cup all purpose flour, pinch of salt (I use himalayan cuz its pink yay) teaspoon of cinnamon, little bit of nutmeg and ground clove, tsp of lemon zest and then mix it all until smooth. 

When it’s well blended, add in candied fruits or currants and knead / mix it again. Let it sit for 75-90 mins in a warm place, covered. Knead it, shape the buns and let them sit on the sheet for 45 mins. Preheat oven to 180 ° C (350 F) , bake for 25 mins, or until the tops are brown. 

Glaze them with 3 tbs water mixed with 1 tsp sugar, or with oil. 

Make the crosses with 1/2 cup icing sugar and a 1tsp of milk, if it’s too dry add another bit of milk.
