Indian Godman, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh or later known as Osho had followers from around the globe who flocked to worship him in Oregon in the US which was later named as Rajneeshpuram after the man himself. . . Osho taught freedom to live amongst other things but is also criticised for his eccentric ways which has given his following the tag of a 'cult' many people want to stay away from. . . Many books were written on Osho and his teachings till a very popular Netflix series emerged few years ago which showed less of Osho and more of his confidante-turned-foe - Ma Anand Sheela. . . Before he moved to Oregon, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh AKA Osho got his start in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, first as a philosophy student and then a philosophy professor, before hitting the road in India winning over rich Indians by telling them to ditch Gandhi, socialism and traditional religions, in favour of capitalism, science, modern technology and fucking all the time. (I recommend flipping open any of his books and starting to read, whether or not you think he’s a bullshit artist or an Enlightened One, you won’t be bored. Meditation practitioners recommend his techniques as being quite effective at breaking down our roboticized selves.) We meant to check out his ashram in Jabalpur, but got distracted by the crazy-beautiful Shail-Parna Udyan park next door. By the time we were done wandering the park the ashram had closed its doors. Morning vibes. Breakfast with this view from the Osho Ashram in Pokhara. Very quiet and tranquil place until dancing meditation hour. At this place, music plays a huge part in the meditation practices. Instead of being quiet with it mind, we channeled our energies through dance. Never been to a place quite like this.
