“you’re creeping me out.”

“creeping you out how?”

you look at him with a scowl. unsure if he’s doing this on purpose to spite you or if he’s really just as clueless as the face he’s pretending to make. it’s the third time he’s done something like this today. it was six times yesterday, and five times the day before— he kept doing something nice for you. you made sure to keep count of it as it’s not every day that he’ll volunteer to do the laundry, vacuum the house, or go full length and prepare a whole massage treatment at home for you, with him being the masseuse of course. the weirdest thing he’d done today which pushed you to ask that question again is when he insisted to do your paperwork for you because quote-unquote, “you might overwork yourself.” yeah, you'd keep tabs on them, too.

you don’t doubt him being kind, but in your 3 years of relationship, this sure is the first time he’s put so, so much, unusual than the usual amount, of effort in treating you like you’re a queen.

with curious eyes still watching his focused figure, you asked, “why are you acting like this? did you do something bad? are you dying?”

he paused from what he was doing and looked at you for a short moment, before standing up to go to the bathroom.

confusion still hasn’t left your gaze as you followed him in there, and stopped, when he faced you with a grin that you’re not so sure if playful or pure smug. that was also when you noticed the thing he was holding.

“oh no. I am so not pregnant.” a deadpan statement. bewildered by the audacity.

“oh, sweetheart, of course, you are.” he assertively put the stick in your hand and gave you a nudge, which you think is for motivational purposes. “come on, try.”

“did my uterus migrate onto you or something to make you that certain, that I am, indeed, carrying a child?” you asked while pushing him out of the bathroom and closing the door.

“my child.” he giggles. “our child.”

you started to undo your pants when he followed with the usual dramatic sigh, “my sweet honey, you never fail to make me appalled by how you still find the audacity to question my ability and intelligence on these kinds of things.”

you remained quiet doing the business. silence reigned as you both were waiting for the result. just as you were feeling the saying “it feels like forever” with how long it was seemingly taking, he spoke again.

“five minute’s up. it should be done by now.”

you rolled your eyes at the tall know-it-all outside your bathroom door.

with the silent dropping of your jaw, you hastily opened the door and stared him straightly in the eye. your face modeled the emotions of surprise, shock, and amazement, while he let out a loud chuckle and shook his head.

“how the hell did you know?”

with eyes sparkling and lips beaming with smug and glee, crossed arms, he leaned against the door frame. “aside from the fact that I’m undoubtedly absolutely smart, if it’s you, of course, I’ll know.”

Chuuya's reaction to Dazai getting hurt during the Lovecraft fight has always been so interesting to me...

Because it's the kind of worry you'd never expect from a character as gruff as Chuuya, who had displayed nothing but hostility towards Dazai so far. Usually, characters that are labelled as "angry" or "anger issues" (which Chuuya is much more complex than that but you get my point) act more as a tsundere type of way when the one they "don't care about" gets hurt. And show their care in very, very subtle ways (ex. their eyes widen, their mouth parts and closes again, etc) before putting up their front once more.

Chuuya, however, is open, and vocal about it. His worry is clear not only to us, but to Dazai himself, the one he shouldn't be displaying the concern to (as per the cliche). Shouldn't it be some sort of secret that Chuuya does care? Isn't that what skk's dynamic has been shaping up to be until now?

I'm telling you- the way my mind blanked when Chuuya just casually.... showed concern not once, but twice, was a sight to see.

Besides, the context makes it much more confusing, because Dazai isn't some rookie, and Chuuya knows that more than anybody. He was the youngest executive in Port Mafia's history, of course he can handle a hit or two. Of course he'd seen him handle a hit or two, sometimes without batting an eye.

Heck, Chuuya himself was hurling Dazai like a ragdoll in their reunion, which was their last meeting. And you could argue that he was going easy on him, but Dazai has mostly withstood the same damage (as far as I could see), and Chuuya was as bitter as ever.

So that kind of contradicts both what we knew of Chuuya so far, and how their dynamic was shaped to be. I mean, that just makes Chuuya a hypocrite, yeah? What makes him care now, all of a sudden? What makes him care at all?

Well, to me, this backasswards reaction implies one (or more) of the following:

- Dazai rarely got physically hurt during their partnership and thus this is an unexpected thing for him to see (during a mission).

- The four years of separation made Chuuya unsure of how much Dazai can withstand physically now. Also the fact that he isn't in the mafia anymore, aka fighting enemy organizations on the weekly, would naturally make Dazai lose his touch in a way, what prompts Chuuya's reaction.

- Dazai getting taken off guard took him off guard which led to panic. Especially since the situation was (momentarily) out of their depth. Seriously wtf even was Lovecraft?

- During the dungeon scene Dazai was an enemy, while in the Lovecraft fight he was as an ally. The difference might be significant to Chuuya.

- This has always been Chuuya's reaction to Dazai getting hurt regardless of the situation.

- "Only I can hurt him like that" ahh logic

- Asagiri was still experimenting with their dynamic and thus there are some inconsistencies.

This scenario didn't play out again (after their reunion) for me to exactly determine which one is more plausible, but it is 100% canon for Chuuya to shamelessly show his concern and run to Dazai to check on him before properly dealing with their opponent, which I find to be such an appealing layer to their dynamic, and a good spin on the type of character he gets stereotyped as.

Bonus: Dazai also becomes a softy when Chuuya's hurt, especially post corruption. Dead Apple alone displays that multiple times.

All in all, Skk are doing a terrible job at maintaining their 'hostile' and 'antagonistic' relationship post their reunion. Freaks.

(head)canon that kunikida is the only one who carries a gun with him. headcanon its because kyouka isn't interested in killing. yosano thinks her giant knives are better. kenji is far too young. atsushi isn't trained. fukuzawa strictly uses his katana. and finally. dazai, tanizaki, and rampo are banned from guns because they would shoot anyone who inconveniences/annoys them.

“the hell is wrong with you nowadays.” the certain guy with striking orange hair asked (stated). “there’s something different with you that makes me want to break your bones even more.”

the bandaged man continued walking with a happy face that annoyed chuuya again. “you know, i already have a new partner who’s also my best friend.”

chuuya rolled his eyes, seemingly unaffected as he twirls a dagger using his fingers, “yeah, yeah, the glasses guy who’s as rigid as a stick. did you fucking break your brain again with one of your stupid suicidal stunts?”

for a moment there was the complete silence which motivated a lot of many more questions. the shorter guy went alone with his thoughts for a good ten minutes until dazai stopped in his tracks and looked ahead. the ray of the sun finally landing on his figure as they get out of the tunnel they were walking into. but in chuuya’s eyes, it was more metaphorical. as if his previous partner— currently frenemy, finally found the light dazai used to lack and hide away from.

“i’m not talking about him.”

the orange-haired guy’s eyes widened as he saw a timid smile forming on the other figure’s lips. he turned his attention to the one dazai’s been staring at, and managed to let out a shaky breath.

before them, stood you. under the tall trees, with the sun rays peeking through each holes above. there was nothing magnificent or magical about the scene in front of them, really, but to chuuya, he’s now understood. someone finally did change the course of events. something that even he, or oda, or that glasses guy wasn’t able to accomplish.

and for the first time, he didn’t argue, nor pushed questions. chuuya simply smirked and tipped his hat, then quietly walked away after muttering a simple, “be happy.”

I was rewatching the first season of Bungou Stray Dogs with a friend when I noticed something about Dazai from episode 1.

We all know that Dazai isn't really a fighter, but when he's getting chased by Atsushi in his tiger form...

Dazai doesn't take his hands out of his pockets until he has to use his ability to subdue Atsushi.

Now, where have we seen that before?

And then I noticed something familiar about the way that Chuuya wears his coat

What was that thing about couples adopting each other's mannerisms again?

Dazai kisses you with the reverence of a worshipper. He’s eternally grateful that such a filthy, lowly demon such as himself received the affections of such an angel. His morning and nighty rituals begin and end with the same event—kisses all over your holy body, from the tips of your toes to the top of your head. They’re chaste and fleeting in the beginning, afraid to defile and corrupt you. But oh, he craves to hear the delicacies of your gentle hums and moans when he gets too messy later on and leaves a pretty mark. He knows mere mortals shouldn’t get too close to goddesses, but he can’t help but follow icarus’s steps and hope to touch the sun, you.

Chuuya kisses you like a man drunk in love. Your lips replace the bottle he used to seek comfort so often from, and the taste of red wine could never hold a candle to the taste of you. And not unlike the glasses full of alcohol, he finds himself asking for just one more kiss. They’re bold and clear to the point that he has given himself to you. He’ll proudly kiss the ground you walk on with the same energy he kisses you. He’s lost so many people in his life, and the one thing he wants is to keep you and your kisses all to himself. The finest wine deserves a knowledgeable man who won’t break the bottle.

Fyodor kisses you with the delicate touch of an artist. Every imprint of his lips on your skin is carefully arranged in an ethereal collage of devotion and intimacy. There’s no overdoing it or under-doing it, it’s the perfect amount. His words are always coated in sugary lies and webbed subsidiary secrets, and he opts to express his love through affectionate gestures such as a mere kiss. Being a man of God, naturally he strays away from anything too provocative and heated. Except sometimes in the dead of night, he thinks of Eve and the apple. He shouldn’t have you, no, but he can’t resist forever.

Sigma kisses you like he’ll lose you. The three years he has known this world has only taught him pain, anguish and anxiety. He’s so inexperienced, and he’s afraid that inexperience will frustrate you to the point of leaving him. There’s a bit of everything in a kiss with him, some tongue (he read about it online on a WikiHow article of how to kiss), the shaky hand on your cheek and hip and so much idolization. You lead most of the kisses by proxy, and he lets you. It’s okay if you use him like a toy. He’ll gladly be used as long as you don’t leave.

Nikolai kisses you with all the wild passion he can muster. The lipstick he wears smears across your skin, painting your Cupid’s bow red. Mutters of ‘pretty thing’ and ‘fucking delicious’ leave him with each deepening kiss. It’s a pity he’s thought about setting you free from this world during such a moment. Your heart bleeding around the knife, wails and whimpers of pain muffled by his lips while he guides you through the end of life. The last remnant of the chains holding him down would be gone if your kisses weren’t so hammering onto his soul. Every peck and smooch only solidifies his connection to you and this universe.

when dazai’s freshly 18 he blows the mafia paycheck he doesn’t gaf about on an expensive engagement ring that he plans to give to chuuya as a joke to piss him off. but then dark era happens and dazai never gets the chance so he just ends up carrying around this ridiculously high quality ring in his pocket for the next 4 years. eventually he gives it to chuuya after they’ve reconnected intending to “complete his joke” except chuuya just unironically accepts it and they end up engaged for real
