taeyong knows you better than you know yourself. he can sense when you’re upset from a mile away, and when he does, he’s at your side in a second. he’ll hold you tightly and kiss your temple, reminding you that things always get better, that this moment will pass.

yuta has such a way with words. he knows exactly what to say to give you comfort. if you’re having a hard time, he’ll just pull you into his arms and talk to you until you fall asleep, running his hand up and down your back.

jungwoo is a cuddle bug. every morning the two of you find yourselves tightly pressed to each other. he gives you massages when your body aches, rubs lotion on your legs when you are too lazy to do it. you are his top priority always.

lucas is more bold than others. he’d have his hand resting on your lower back, probably a little too close to your butt, and not think twice about it. it was something he did nonchalantly. he just loves skinship and finds comfort holding you close by his side.

donghyuck is a handsy man. it’s never sexual or anything, but he is always touching your thighs or waist. just the feeling of your warm skin on his palms relaxes him. whether it’s public or not, he definitely shows his love by having his hands on you.

doyoung doesn’t even try to be subtle anymore. the second you say you like something, it’s bought. the amount of times you’ve come home to boxes piled up on the front porch is ridiculous. he just loves spoiling the one he loves.

ten notices the way you take second glances at something, or how you linger over an item for a while, and immediately knows he has to buy it. once you walk away, he’ll quickly call over an employee and have them hold it at the checkout desk until you’re done.

hendery likes to surprise you with things you don’t necessarily need. there was one time you came home and he had the entire kitchen table covered in face masks and night creams. or another time, he proudly explained to you that he found you a mickey mouse rice cooker; as if you’d been searching for it.

chenle takes notice of the small things like when you pass by a store window and spot something you like. he would go back that same day and buy it as a little surprise. or when you casually talk about a new movie coming out, he would take you to the premiere.

jisung isn’t always good with words, especially when it comes to you. so giving gifts was his way of showing love. even when him and chenle made keychains for the members, he was sure to include you, giving a little bit of extra love into that specific one.

taeil loves having you over at the dorms. even when the other members try stealing you away, which they do often, he doesn’t seem to mind. his busy schedule got in the way most of the time so whenever he was free, you were the first person he’d call.

winwin could literally sit in silence with you and be the happiest man; and that’s what the two of you do most of the time. you would be sitting on the couch, playing on your phone and he would have his head in your lap, doing the same thing. the silence was never awkward, just peaceful and inviting.

xiaojun considered date nights the highlight of his days. it wasn’t often that he had free time, but when he did, the two of you would explore the city together. he’d make sure the hold you near, physical touch being a close second on his love language list.

renjun loves to paint with you. whether you are good or not, he just enjoys being in your presence. you’d be sitting in his lap, fingering painting and both of you laughing at how horrible it looked. he’d be sure to hang it up next to his bed though, having it be the last thing he looks at before falling asleep.

kun cooks. all the time. it doesn’t seem like a big deal to him, but for you, coming home from a rough day to find dinner already made eases your stress. he always makes sure you have at least one decent meal, knowing you probably aren’t eating properly any other time.

jaehyun helps you with self-care. it can get difficult at times for you to look after yourself so he takes matters into his own hands: brushing your hair, carrying you to bed when you fall asleep on the couch again, making sure you have food in your system before heading out for the day.

sungchan carries everything for you. if you’re out shopping, buying things on impulse as always, he makes sure to load the bags on his arms so you don’t have to. or when you come home from grocery shopping, he’s running outside to gather the bags from the car and take them in.

“-pretending that you don’t need me.” he answered. “you want to go and mess around with other people, because you don’t want to commit, but i’m always the one you come running back to. always.”

he pushed himself off the door and stepped forward, slowly inching closer to you. your breath hitched as he stood right in front of you, his hand softly caressing your cheek but with the same cocky facial expression. he knew his affect on you.

“so why bother trying to tell me you don’t want me? you like me, obviously, so what’s the point in fighting it? because i’m the one that made you fall in love and that scared you?” his lips neared closely to yours but remained within safe distance. “baby, you can just give in. i won’t shame you for it.”

your body trembled in shock. you didn’t know how to respond. he was right; absolutely right. you fell in love then immediately pushed him away because you thought he wouldn’t feel the same. yet you really never could stay away. jaehyun was the only person running through your mind daily.

before you could muster up the words to say, his lips had now found purchase on yours. his hands gently cupped your face tighter as to pull you closer than he already had you. the world felt as if it had come to a complete stop. it was just the two of you in that moment. nothing else mattered.

johnny’s lips curved into a grimace as he watched the way some stranger put his hands on you. the sway of your hips proved you had drank a little too much and were willing to let that man touch you carelessly. from his place on the barstool, he had a perfect view of the way you smiled absentmindedly, not fully aware of the fact that it wasn’t johnny’s body pressed against yours.

his fingers gripped his whiskey glass a bit tighter, hoping his piercing stare would somehow catch your attention. you twirled around and came face to face with the stranger. a sudden wave of confusion washed over but the way he soft-heartedly grinned at you didn’t brush you the wrong way, and you liked it.

“we should step outside.” he bent down to your ear. “it’s loud in here.”

you nodded and let him take your hand in his, but you got no more than five steps before you spotted johnny looking your way. you halted and waited for a second with a small glimpse of hope that he’d come get you. the other man looked back and caught on to what was happening. he let go of your hand and stepped closer, leaning down so you could hear him again.

“i see there’s someone you need to talk to.”

you went to apologize but he waved it off kindly, “no worries. been there, done that. go talk to him. he looks like he has something he wants to say.”

you watched as he headed out by himself and you almost felt bad. you turned to johnny who had rotated in his seat to face you entirely, hands clasped together in his lap. he bit the insides of his cheek as you approached; stumbling over your feet a few times. when you finally reach him, he had to stick out his arms to catch you.

he couldn’t help but chuckle, “looks like somebody had too much to drink.”

“i’m just having fun.” you lolled.

johnny took notice of how your eyes struggled to stay open and you leaned against him for support. he quickly paid his tab then ushered you out of the bar to get fresh air while he searched for a taxi. the drive to his house was silent as you slept soundly on his shoulder.

getting you inside was no problem but trying to get you undressed and into comfier clothes was a hassle. your body was like deadweight as he dressed you in his sweats and t-shirt, and laid you down in bed. he went off to find the makeup wipes you had left a while ago, but when he came back, you were sitting up against the headboard.

“still drunk?”

you looked over at him with an exhausted expression, “not really. i was just thinking.”

he sat down on the edge of the best, closest to you, and began wiping your makeup. “and what are you thinking about?”

you looked him in the eyes, “i know we’ve had this talk and i know what you’re going to say, but it’s just so confusing for me still. i don’t get what this is.”

your heart constricted once again. as much as you wanted to comply and move on, your mind wouldn’t allow it. there was something about johnny that had you captivated no matter how many times he broke a little piece of you with every rejection. he was everything you’d ever dreamed of while you were just merely there in his life.

johnny knew he couldn’t love you. not with the way he lived his life. he was on the run, escaping from the life he’d previously lived, and doing whatever he wanted in the meantime. you came into his life when he needed you most, but he didn’t have the time or patience to focus on anyone but himself. it would be selfish to love you.

but part of him did and that, in itself, was already too much. there were days when he’d look at you from across the table and feel his stomach flutter or nights when he’d watch you sleeping peacefully beside him with the smallest pout on your lips and want to never leave that place.

“it’s a little heartless,” you whispered so quietly he almost didn’t catch it. “don’t you think?”

his hands dropped to your thighs, “you know i could never leave you, but we live such different lives. i’m too aware of the fact that i wouldn’t be able to give you what you deserve.”

rainy days in seoul were both peaceful and burdensome. while you loved sitting by the window, watching the raindrops trickle down, it wasn’t as nice when you were running through it and trying to avoid those exact same raindrops.

taeyong waited patiently inside the cafe you always went to on sunday mornings. it was your guilty pleasure that you indulged in before running errands all afternoon and, actually, where taeyong had met you the first time. ever since then, he’d appear at the shop hours before to make sure he didn’t miss you.

you’d be lying if you said taeyong wasn’t attractive. in fact, he was probably one of the most handsome men you’d ever seen. not to mention he was quite the gentleman too. but a relationship wasn’t your top priority right now. you were a busy person, becoming fairly successful lately, and you couldn’t let such a commitment take over just yet.

“i’m starting to think you live here.” your voice was like music to his ears.

too into his thoughts, he hadn’t even noticed you walk in. he snapped his head up and smiled. you chuckled, setting your bag down in the chair beside you. taeyong leaned forward against the table and asked how your week had gone, to which you explained how hectic it’d been.

he sighed dramatically and rose from his seat, “i guess that means you really need coffee, huh? the usual?”

you nodded and watched as he walked off to order. when he came back, he was all smiles and blushed cheeks. the two of you talked for an hour or so until you checked the time. you had to get going before the banks closed and you were running behind.

taeyong stood up with you, snatching the umbrella you hadn’t noticed before, “let me go with you. i know you didn’t bring an umbrella for yourself.”

you tried to protest, telling him your errands weren’t exactly all that fun, but he persisted. so, together, you both squeezed under the single umbrella and walked down the sidewalk. taeyong’s heart could hardly take it. being that close to you made him flutter inside. he made sure you got a majority of the protection, not caring that the entire left side of his body was getting soaked.

“tae, you’re getting wet. come here.” you pulled him in closer towards you and his knees nearly buckled.

this was a dream. you were a dream. taeyong had never felt this way around another person and, at the rate his heart was beating, he didn’t think he would survive if he did. instead of screaming like he was internally, he just grinned and leaned into your arm.

the hours went by and by two o’clock, all your tasks had been completed. taeyong walked you all the way back to your apartment building and stopped at the front entrance. you turned slightly to look at him and bit the insides of your cheeks. he stared at your nervously.

“have a good rest of your day, taeyong.” you spoke sweetly and kissed his cheek. “thank you for taking care of me.”

he watched as you walked inside, waiting for you to be out of view before he jumped up and down with glee. he danced around for a bit, throwing his fist in the air like he’d just scored a goal, then happily pranced back to his own place. it was safe to say that the rest of his day would not just be good. it would be great.
