Dice froze for a moment when Ramuda spoke that name—Rei Amayado—a cold shiver crawling up his spine. He'd heard the name before, sure, seen the man in battle in bits and pieces during the second DRB, but hearing it now, with Ramuda looking so fragile, as though every word might break him... it hit different. "Rei Amayado?" Dice repeated under his breath, trying to process it. "He's connected to this? He’s the one that made you?" He could feel his pulse quicken, a twinge of disbelief swirling with something darker—a mix of anger, confusion, and even a bit of dread.

But now he had something to hold onto. A thread to follow. If there was a way to fix this, to save Ramuda, it had to go through this Rei. And that gave him a sliver of hope, something to hang on to when everything else felt so damn heavy. He could feel the determination bubbling up inside him, a fire that refused to die no matter how deep the darkness felt. I’ll find him, Dice thought. I’ll find Amayado, and I’ll get answers. He swallowed his rising frustration and gave Ramuda a soft, reassuring look before standing up. “Alright, I’ll go talk to him. I’ll find out what the hell's going on.” He reached down, carefully brushing Ramuda’s hair out of his face again, letting his fingers linger just for a second longer than necessary. His heart ached, but there was no time to waste. “Stay put. I’m gonna clean this up.”

With that, Dice grabbed a rag from the desk, pressing it into his palm as he turned toward the bloodstains scattered across the desk. But even as he wiped, his mind was already racing ahead. Rei Amayado, huh? He couldn’t figure out where exactly Amayado fit into this puzzle. Why was he working with Chuuoku? Or was he manipulating them from behind the scenes? Were the other members of Dotsuitare Hompo involved? Didn’t matter now—he was going to find out. He'd tear down whatever walls stood in his way to save Ramuda, even if it meant walking right into the lion's den. And maybe... just maybe, Ramuda's words about love... about needing him... would be the thing to keep him moving forward. That was enough.

Because he did love Dice, and Gentaro. They made him feel human, made him feel like his life actually mattered. After so long he finally felt real again, not like some disposable doll to be tossed aside. So the last thing he wanted was to lose one of the two who made it possible, slowly calming a little getting to listen to his heart beat. Taking the candy, he really hoped it wasn't too troublesome to keep him supplied with them.

As he was set down, he was quick to hug one of the pillows instead, just needing the extra bit of comfort it provided him. But even then he worried, he didn't want to have Dice walk into the monster's lair just for him. And it wasn't like Otome even knew anything about how he was made, or how he really functioned. Yet at the same time, should he really tell Dice just who had made him? That mindset of getting harmed for misbehaving was still so very hard to let go of, but if it kept him alive, kept his friends from worrying.

Would Rei come after him if he learned his secrets had been spilled? Or did he just not care about that anymore? Would he even be bothered to help? Ramuda really didn't know, if it was worth saying something. Hell, did anyone even know how he worked? After all, he was broken, didn't come out as intended. Still, he wanted to stay alive, knowing if he died then his team would also be in danger. There was no way they would cooperate with his replacement after all, so if he died they would have to go as well.

In osaka dreamin' night, there's a line rosho says like "I'll become a disciplinary top breeder", and I have no idea what he means 😭 do the jp lyrics/translation mean something specific?

Haha, I had that exact same question fairly recently, so I did some Googling to try and figure out what the heck a "ブリーダー" (breeder) really entails. In short? "Educator."

If anyone's ever watched the Pokemon anime, you know how Brock is called a Pokemon breeder? It's not because he literally breeds Pokemon together to make new Pokemon--instead, he focuses on raising his existing Pokemon to grow up happy and healthy. Pokemon breeders focus on keeping their Pokemon well-groomed, like particularly invested pet owners. In Japanese, the notion of keeping/raising a pet is intertwined with bringing up and teaching kids (same verb, 養う). Then in the verse the "top breeder" line appears in, Sasara and Roshou are doing a mini manzai act themed around teaching in a nod to Roshou's teaching career. Through the use of some of the images in the song, he compares the slapstick used in manzai to physical violence associated with training (think a lion tamer with a whip) and ties that back into the universal "Yeah, yeah, I'm so cool, I'm the best rapper ever and I'm beating you with my sick-ass lyrics!" thing that's in every Hypmic rap ever. That's the マイク握れば容赦はしない 教育し直す恐怖の一夜 part: "Once I have my mic, you're a goner. Watch out, I'm going to re-educate you so hard!" sort of feeling. The しつける ("disciplinary") is part of that too--"disciplining" or teaching or training. Which in turn falls under the same umbrella of 養う, bringing up or teaching kids. To make a long story short, it's tying together several ideas that usually aren't associated in English, which is why this line causes such confusion with English audiences. But he's essentially saying "I'm an amazing teacher, and I'm just as amazing at 'schooling' you with my mic." That's my understanding of it. This rap is definitely one of the more obtuse ones, though.

1) stella

gotta start with stella, it is truly one of the tracks of all time. there is nothing i don't love about it. the sound of it, the lyrics, the story. the lyric video is so pretty and every live performance of it has been so good. stella triangle formation forever

2) femme fatale

AN ABSOLUTE BANGER i love our women who have done nothing wrong ever uwu the newer chuuoku tracks are really good as well but femme fatale being the first holds a special spot in my heart. and i'm so thrilled reol worked on it because it means we got to have her as a guest star at one of the lives and she was!! amazing!!!

3) enishi

godddddd enishi. where do i even start with enishi. there is just a POWER to the vocals of this track that i am absolutely obsessed with. it's tough to choose a favorite track on cross a line because i love them all so much but enishi is honestly up there. the first time i heard it i was like the cat discovering the red part is the good part of the watermelon. O_O eyes activate

listen! listen!! literally every bat group song has been a hit they do not miss. bad ass temple funky sounds. kaigen. rip. awesome fucking party <- this has a different title in translation but i cannot ever remember it and always end up calling it something like this lol (it is apparently "hella awesome banquet" i had to look this up)

i guess. I GUESS. if i had to pick one. kaigen and rip would be slightly above the others because the live version of them are just so electric. the performances of the others have been really good as well! but kaigen and rip are special. and between the two of them... um... this is Difficult

i'm going with kaigen. but really. they are all amazing. hayama (kuko cv) just has the best stage energy ever

5) ok... so i'm giving it to rivals... BUT

man eliminating all members of bb/mtc truly cuts out so many tracks lol they are all over the place. off the block party album i would probably say my favorite (excluding the ichisama solos) is get busy (but alas jiro is in that) followed by shiro to kuro (but alas jyuto is in that)

SO fifth place goes to third place off the album.. rivals! it really is just such a fun song like you can't go wrong with a track where a line of the lyrics is literally "🥺🥺🥺🥺"

ON THE OTHER HAND I AM REALLY PARTIAL TO ONCE UPON A TIME IN SHIBUYA OR YOYOYOYO AS WE LIKE TO CALL IT and also torima get on the floor... and kizuato... and shibuya ghost night... and pink love... you guys know i was once an fp stan right lol

24 what other character from another fandom reminds me of them: mar hypmic origin story. there are three reasons i got into hypmic back in 2020: 1) my best friend was into it and it seemed crazy i was curious 2) ah osaka dreamin night is a very fun song 3) i was on pixiv looking at beautiful pictures of imayoshi back then and saw sasara. and in that moment i just knew. i knew he would be the one <- guy who ended up liking jyuto more but as it turns out imayoshi is sort of the middle point between jyuto and sasara so?

though i dont think ive ever consciously thought about who reminded me of hanamiya... 🤔

Osaka Dreamin' Night and Tragic Transistor were some top tier tracks (Rei's second solo Count The Money is also up there) but BAT has had 6 great solos (If I Follow My Heart BEST hypmic song to me) and no one else compares to them!!!

1. Uhmmm idk 2021 sometime,,, I don’t remember exactly. I got into it because of a post saying happy birthday ichiro and it was on my to watch list for a while before I caved in and watched the anime

4. Doppo definitely. I loved him so much in the beginning. Now to a lesser degree, but I’m still obsessed with him. I did not really care about BB, but I liked Saburo. Now I really like Jiro!! And saburo!! I have personal beef with Ichiro. Same with MTC tbh. Samatoki was pretty so yeah. I liked FP and MTR originally, that hasn’t changed

Rivals: Hmm, this is a really interesting comparison! I wouldn't have immediately classified Doppo as a "act first, think later" character, but he definitely has those moments. The music is bouncy but not immediately doing it for me. I think it's one of those songs I'll grow to like quickly, though.

White and Black: (not to be confused with Doppo's Black or White, naturally) SHADY BOYS, LET'S GOOOOOO! I love this match-up. I think they are the kind of people to have a meet-cute in which they committed identity fraud and/or credit card fraud on one another. Anyway, I love the style here. Team Rocket-ass mfers. I agree with the top YT comment at the time of writing, which is, "This is the most fanfic-y thing Hypmic has ever officially released, and I am here for it." I also love that neither of them makes one single effort to hide their scumminess. Truly a duo for the ages.

Thanks for Having Us! Now Look Alive! Osaka Big Up: (or whatever people are calling the Sasara/Roshou one) I adore the fact that Sasara introduces them as a three-person group ft. Rei, but Rei just happens to be doing something else (stealing Juuto's identity, most like) and thus it's a two-person act today. Sasara and Roshou's comedy/speaking dynamic is much more relaxed and natural feeling than it was in their first appearance in Ah, Osaka Dreamin' Night, which is a nice reflection of the current state of their friendship status. Music is chill. I'd like to hear more of it before forming more opinions. Their singing voices sound good with this older, slower style of song.

The Demons' Flowers: I appreciate how the MV style departs from usual Hypmic MV to mimic the MVs for this kind of music. Very JRPG-esque. The lyrics strike me as a little generic for music projects, which is atypical for Hypmic, but it's definitely appropriate for Juushi.

Get busy: I really like this match-up; their high energy works together well here, as does their commitment to working together with the homies to kick absolute ass. I'm not sure KR fully understands the connotation of the English title they've chosen; they're probably going for more of a "Take it easy...but take it!" vibe.

Viva la liberty: While the music itself isn't doing much for me yet, I like this take on how both Saburou and Ramuda have grown throughout the story while still acting in very similar ways to their act 1 selves. An unusual match-up, but I can dig it.

What Lies Beyond the Dreaming: Wow, I really like this. Like Scenario Liar, it almost feels confessional in the sense of how it creates a closed sense of solidarity with the listener (you're the only one I can trust, let me tell you my story for your ears only, etc.). In that case, it's being spoken to his brother, I suppose? Would love to hear the full song.

Closer: I like Hitoya's singing a lot in this one. The darker lyrics and tone suit them both quite well, and I wonder if this points to Jakurai and Hitoya finally talking things out, including Jakurai's experiences in the war, in act 3. Or perhaps that's simply wishful thinking.

My Life: Positivity: Aside from the obvious enjoyment of Hifumi wrangling the rest of the cast into being his enthusiastic background singers, I really like how this song is both bright and bubbly at surface level but says a lot of deeper things about Hifumi's character, like how he's willing to open himself up to being hurt again so long as he has the protection of his friends and loved ones. I don't think it's the kind of thing I'd listen to, but I am looking forward to seeing the full thing.

Move Your Body Til You Die!: Roger that, sir. o7 Very glad to see that Riou's solos are as silly as ever. I think this is my favorite so far in terms of music. It is most definitely my favorite in terms of music videos.

Will-o'-the-Wisp: I really, really, REALLY like the lyrics and how much growth they show for Samatoki. It's nice how you can tell just musically how much he's healed and mellowed out since the start of the series.

HIPHOPPIA: This is my actual favorite musically, and while I understand and appreciate the thematic point of having so many styles of music on this album, I'm personally a bit sad there isn't more of the classic hip-hop sound. Lot of interesting imagery in the lyrics.

Conclusion: Move Your Body Til You Die! is a work of art.
