it’s always fun when i get home from school tired and the first thing that happens is i get told "hey remember that orthodontist visit you have? yeah you have to walk there.”

did i have a meltdown? yes.

also i have to wear rubber bands all the time now so. fucking gate my teeth. genuinely hate them ngl. they suck and give me pain every few weeks.

still thinking about my last orthodontist appointment. so, i have pretty bad problems managing to brush my teeth every day. this includes rubber bands. while i’ve been doing better with brushing, i’ve progressed to not wearing my rubber bands at all. this is… a problem. i could try to do better with them on my own, but i they hurt and i hate wearing them and even when i remember i should be wearing them the whole prospect is so unpleasant that i just. dont.

now, what does a mentally ill teenager learning to advocate for themself do in this situation? could they possibly tell their orthodontist how much they struggle with this, and ask politely for a solution not involving rubber bands? why, of fucking course not! what a silly question, foolish teenager who clearly is just not trying hard enough! let’s walk back into their room and ask them if they want headgear!! ahahahahahah so funny, foolish teenager! you don’t want headgear, that would look weird! now, off you go, just do better next time!! /end angry sarcasm

fuck you guys. you couldn’t just explain nicely why rubber bands are really the only option. you couldn’t just try to meet me where i’m at. no, you had to laugh at me. fuck you. plus, people who do wear headgear are not the butt of your damn joke.

Headcanon Lat.via wears braces, and he also has to wear those orthodontic rubber bands— he hates them so much though. They're just so uncomfortable for him. (This is speaking from experience btw, i used to have braces & wear those bands, and i hated them!)

Also, Lith.uania USED to have braces back in the early 2010s! But then, when he got them taken off, he didn't wear his retainer, so his teeth got crooked again.
