Rest in peace to an underground rapper/producer and veteran of the New York Fire Department, Ka. I listened to Orpheus vs the sirens a while back but I remember falling in love with the production and samples throughout the album and Ka’s raspy vocals as the whole album reminded me of something by MF DOOM. If you have the time, please check out this album, you won’t regret it. As for me, I’m gonna check some of his solo projects he made.

Big spoilers for C2 below (this includes the tags, I try to be vague in them but if you really want to avoid spoilers skip them)

I also don’t have a good conclusion to this so it’s mainly just some guesses but not really anything else

So when we find out Elgas real name, Calliope and Barney’s kids names, Titus and Samson, they sound like weird names, which they would be now, because they’re really old. Titus was a Roman emperor who ruled from 79-81 CE and is known for being the conquer of Jerusaleum and in Greek it means title of honor, and Samson was an Israelite warrior and judge and was really strong and his name means sun And it’s kinda cool that Micah gave them these names and I don’t know if they mean anything, but they might. Also both of them are from the Bible so that’s kinda cool.

I suppose Samson could be a play on words like sun vs son but I really don’t know.

But they also have Elgas birth name Calliope, wich is the name of the oldest of the nine muses, and the muse of epic poetry and eloquence which isn’t super Elga. I don’t really know why Micah gave her this name, but it probably wasn’t a name from internet people so it must have some purpose.

Calliope dose mean beautiful voice in Greek so it could’ve just been that he was referencing Elgas nice acent?

Her mom was also the goddess of memory which is kinda ironic and could also be Micah referencing the fact that she lost her memory?

But some other stuff about her that doesn’t mean anything (as far as I can tell) is that in some interpretations she is a water nymph, her dad is Zeus, she’s the mom of Linus and Orpheus, she was often depicted with her sisters, some say she was homers muse for the Iliad and the Odyssey, she was sometimes referred to as the mother/chief of all muses, she was also sometimes said to be the mother of the sirens and her symbols were the lyre, tablet and stylus.

I’m willing to bet Micah named her off my first 2 guesses but he could’ve had some other plan and I just think it’s interesting that when given to name Barneys sons he named them after biblical people but for his daughter he names her after a Greek muse. And the Elga thing just feels kinda interesting to me but if anyone else knows anything else please tell me.

This is very random but I was relistening to one of your Sun audios and I just noticed that all the little noises/extra sound effects (like the bells for Sun, the water and clicking noises for Orpheus, or the static-y/echo-y effects on Mettaton) are all like insanely great aural stims!! The bells and clicking especially. You find a way to make the extra sounds in your audios not only make sense, with Sun having bells on him in the games or Orpheus using echolocation (sidebar, still my favorite thing in the entire world, sirens with echolocation is such a galaxy brained idea, I love Orpheus so much), but also just sound really really *nice.* Like they never strike me as annoying or grating, which is really really hard to do especially in ASMR audios and I am constantly in awe of how you manage to do it perfectly all the time!

Idk if it's a balancing thing or raw talent or skill or just similar tastes in Good Sounds vs. Bad Sounds but it's awesome please keep up the amazing work 💖

ah i'm glad they're not annoying! the idea with the bells is that it is sun stimming. they're actual bells sewn onto red ribbons that i clip around my wrists and move my hands a lot as i talk, i happened to have them on hand because i started and never finished a sun cosplay two years ago.

While looking up stuff about the muses and their part in Greek mythology for Omar and had so much fun learning about them.

The Muses are often referred as water nymphs. They're associated with water a lot because they were born from the springs of Helicon at Pieria by Pegasus when he stepped on the ground. Maybe I would do a mermaid! AU for Omar and he could be childhood friends with the octavinelle trio

The consort for the Muses was Apollo (god of sun, music and arts, etc.) Basically Apollo's entourage and romantic partners, and if you know anything about Apollo he had MANY lovers. Even had a few kids with them like Orpheus, Linus, Hymenaeus, and the Corybantes. There's too many and some may not even be Apollo's kids.

Challenging a greek god will result in you dying, turning into something, or some kind of torture. The Muses were no different. A singer known as Thamyris boasted that he was a better singer than them and challenged them to a contest. After losing, Thamyris was maimed resulting in blindness in addition of taking his singing voice and ability to play music. A king named Pierus had beautiful and talented daughters who he bet could be a match for the Muses. They lost and were turned in either jays or magpies as a punishment. There was also the Sirens vs Muses which was encouraged by Hera (goddess of gods). When they lost the Muses plucked their feathers to make them into crowns, turned white, and fell into the oceans to die. The lesson is simple: don't claim you're better than a Greek god.

There are generations of Muses. The orignal muses were the Boeitian Muses had Mneme (memory), Melete (meditation), and Aoede (song). The main 9 Olympian Muses are Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melbourne, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania. One source says that the daughter of Aphrodite and Ares, Harmonia, gave birth to daughters who were the next Muses but it is a rare theory.

he was unparalleled. intense. he was revered for a reason. listen to his music, seriously. i recommend you start with Descendants of Cain or Orpheus vs. the Sirens, but you really cannot go wrong with anything he made.
