ASSIGNING EACH DANGER DAYS SONG AN ODD SQUAD CHARACTER CAUSE I GOTTA
Na Na Na- Oprah (:
Bulletproof Heart- OTTOOOO!!!!
SING- Olympia. You just need to trust me on this. I know it doesn't match her energy, but it's so perfect for her. She IS sing it from the heart, sing it 'til you're nuts, sing it out for the ones that'll hate your guts.
Planetary (GO!)- ORLA ORLA ORLA. ORLA ALL THE WAY. She's unbelievable, she's undefeatable, she will ruin everything and blast it to the back row.
The Only Hope for Me Is You- Oscar. I just feel it. In my. Joints. Or smth.
Party Poison- Based on the name alone you know this one's going to Todd. "If we were like you in the end, well we'd be killing ourselves by sleeping in" Todd. It's Todd. "We came to party, kill the party tonight" thank you Todd. We know. It works for him as Gardener Todd too, just a bit differently.
Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back- Oona. No explanation needed, just like Oprah's and Otto's.
S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W- Olive. It's gotta be Olive. I can't explain why. It's the most meaningful song in the album, and it goes to her.
Summertime- Otis. It's the platonic love song ever, and it's how he feels about Olympia. He doesn't need his headphones because Olympia stops the noise. <3
DESTROYA- Orin. I will Fight anyone who disagrees with me on this. It is slower and Loud, and he's angry like the 11th doctor and an asshole, this song is for HIM. [This is the song I named my larp camp sword after, btw.]
The Kids from Yesterday- Opal. The way she leaves when her journey doesn't feel like it should be over reminds me of how this song is about the singer and the killjoys knowing they're going to die but still doing what they know is right. And the part where the music stops and then gets picked up again but a little different, and you can hear an echo of the singer's voice- it's like how after she leaves Osmerelda carries on her spot.
Vampire Money- Dr. O. Season 1 Dr. O.

The First Look
Part 2
The King pled his case, explaining the challenger had no right to his throne. That this was grab for power at a moment of transition. He spoke of how his own father had approached her’s, but had been denied assistance. Her brow narrowed slightly, she had been looking upon him with an indifferent expression.
“Not that I hold a grudge against you for that. He was well within his right to refuse.” The young King added. He had to admit, he was more nervous talking to her than to any other. He had to talk slowly just to avoid tripping over his words. He also made sure to keep from rambling, but the slight tremble in his voice was hard to stop.
“Have you sent any other offer for an alliance to any other ruler?” The Queen asked.
“Yes, Highness.” The young King replied.
“And?”
“None have replied, Majesty.” He confessed quietly, he didn’t bother to keep the disappointment from his voice. She was quiet for a beat.
“You have stated you aren’t high in number. What is to stop me from invading and taking your Kingdom once we defeat the Southern King? Or even now?” She asked. He had considered this.
“I would defend it to my dying breath. Besides, if you had wanted my lands, you would’ve already seized them when word of my father’s death spread. I saw your messenger tower with the doves upon arrival.”
“What is to stop me from killing you here and now? My father warned yours to never set foot here again under penalty of death, surely you know this?”
“I do, Majesty.”
She raised her eyebrows, prompting him to add, “if you had wanted me dead, you would’ve killed me in the forest.”
There was a ghost of a smile on the Queen’s lips.
The Queen stood, the younger King falling to one knee as she did so. She approached him, he glanced up at her, meeting her eyes for a millisecond. She spoke to her General next to him.
“Take them to the stables. Have their horses watered and given hay.” She instructed, then left the room through a door to the right. She needed time to think, wanting to make the best decision for her people.
The stables were some of the largest the King had ever seen.
“How many horses can be kept here?” He asked, noticing the Appaloosa the Queen was riding earlier. He was happily munching on hay suspended in a net hung on a hook by his stall door. The young King tickled the horse’s chin again.
“80 total, 40 in this section, 20 stables on the left and 20 on the right. 40 in the section next door, same layout.” The stable manager answered. “The Queen loves her horses.” He added. The King and his knights waited for another hour, the General fetching them from the stables. They returned to the throne room, the Queen waited for them. The King approached her and kneeled, his men following his lead.
“I will need more time to make a decision. I will allow you to return to your lands. I will send a messenger there with my answer.” The Queen said. The young King hid his disappointment, he had hoped to be able to present an answer upon his return. However he had already gotten farther than his father had with an alliance here.
The week that followed was hard. His men had kept the Southern invaders at bay. But he wasn’t sure how much longer they could hold out. He had evacuated the outlying villages, moving his people and their animals closer to the castle. He had a section of forest cleared to accommodate the herd of at least a thousand cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.
He hadn’t heard from the Queen, but he had thought of her. When he returned, he began to make arrangements for her, just in case she agreed. She would need a room to stay in, her men would need to be housed, as well as their horses.
This isn’t getting your hopes up, but simply being prepared, he thought to himself.
One evening, as the King ate dinner, a messenger bursted into the room. The young boy was panting, soaking wet from the pelting rain outside, and trying to deliver his message.
“Take a breath boy!” One of the King’s advisors said, the teen taking gasping breaths. It was clear he had full on ran for miles.
“The Southern King attacked the line again……he killed at least 4 men……” three more breaths, “……he was going to charge with……remaining forces…..but they came out of nowhere, sir.”
“Who?” The King asked.
“They were like shadows, we didn’t even see their arrows, not until…..we held up torches.” The boy seemed to be calming down.
“They killed the Southern King’s attacking squad, forcing the remainder of his men to retreat.” He added.
“Who killed his men?”
“She did. Her men told us to crouch down in the trench we had dug…as soon as we did we heard the thunder. Then so many horses leapt over the trench. She appeared out of the darkness on horseback, her armor had no sheen. She charged down the attackers, her horse had two huge spears attached to it’s breastplate. Her men…they defended us. We were able to get the wounded out.” The boy managed.
The King tried to hide the smile on his face. He failed.
“She’s coming here.” The messenger relayed. He looked terrified. He wasn’t sure if this woman’s appearance was a good omen or not.
“Good, we’ll be ready to receive her. Come eat young man, then get some rest.” The King ordered, then stood and made to leave.
“Sir, the Southern King’s men called her The Bringer of Death.” The young boy finished.
“Excellent.” The King replied over his shoulder.
“My Lord, where are you going?” An advisor called after him.
“To greet our guests.”
As he waited in the rain with his General, his mind wandered.
What if she was coming here to take your throne? She wouldn’t have saved your men if that was the case…
“Majesty, why don’t you get some rest.” His General offered.
“Not until they’ve arrived.” He replied. The line his men had been holding wasn’t far. About an hour on horseback, but it will be a longer wait with wounded men. Two hours later, the King spotted torches on the road ahead. His men arrived first, followed behind by a welcomed sight. At least two regiments of archers and armored knights and a cavalry of 60. His wounded then were brought in on sleds, which were brought into the barracks to be tended to. The Queen’s regiments lined up in rows. Finally she arrived at the end with her General. She was dressed in matte black armor, fitted. Her helmet had a plume of horse tail hair on the top. Her horse, a black Friesian, was also armored. She rode up to him, dismounting a couple feet from him.
“You waited? In the rain?” She inquired.
“Of course.” He replied.
“Odd.” She said after considering him for a beat.
“Do I take this as an agreement on an alliance?” He asked, gesturing her inside the warm castle with a small bow and sweeping arm. She removed her helmet.
“You may.” She replied, walking inside.
