One of my worship ministry teammates got this song stuck in my head on Sunday morning, and it hasn't left since. But these lyrics in particular keep echoing in my mind, because they're such a poignant reminder of the truth. Our faith is not found in the song "Good, Good Father" itself, but the truth that He IS a good father. Not in the song, "No Longer Slaves" itself, but the truth that He DID rescue us so that we could stand & sing. Not in the song, "How He Loves" itself, but the truth that He DOES love us so. These are some of the most powerful worship songs that I know, but their power doesn't come from the songs themselves—it comes from the Truth that they are filled with. Despite all my resolutions (where did daily painting disappear to?!) it’s been a while since I picked the brushes up and even longer since I did anything for Mother’s Day ... so. Here’s a sweet and simple work-in-progress using a blue @caran_dache pencil for the initial rough sketch in a lovely Mozart linen-bound sketchbook, then @schmincke_official and @winsorandnewton watercolours for the painting.
