Transparent electronics: 45% transparency achieved in microdisplays

Transparent electronics are already providing reliable services in some applications. For instance, they can be found as ultra-thin layers for touch displays or as transparent films with printed antennas for mobile communications. However, OLED microdisplays have not been transparent so far. As part of the HOT project ("High-performance transparent and flexible micro-electronics for photonic and optical applications"), OLED microdisplays with 20% transparency were developed. The technology has now been advanced further, and for the first time, 45% transparency has been achieved in a CMOS OLED microdisplay.

it's pretty easy to explain why people verbally change "fentanyl" into "fentaNOL", it's a new word to many and they're mixing up a common suffix. what's NOT easy to explain is why someone tried to tell me that the reason for this is the mandela effect.

i haven't managed to do much this week* but today, specifically, i wrote over a thousand words! \o/ CHAPTER ONE, NEARLY DONE.

someone recently informed me that it's totally fine to edit things after they're posted (i feel like that used to be more of a faux-pas the last time i was consistently writing fic*? either way it's a relief ;o;) so i'm using that as reassurance that i can just post it once it's done. i tend to write things out of order (and color-code them so I can organize them later when i'm editing) so here's a little bit of simon in the later chapters of the mermay fic:

The rain’s almost perfectly horizontal by the time it gets to me. With every step, I’m pelted in the face with freezing drops that fall so hard that for a moment I’m almost sure it’s hail. They sting my eyes and every breath draws water up my nose as if the sea and the storm have merged into one terrible creature, until I’m forced to drag the stretched-out collar of Baz’s stolen jumper up over my face. I can barely see my hand in front of me doing it. I can’t see the road.

I don’t even know I’ve reached the actual ocean until it’s swirling around my ankles; I’m going by touch alone. Between the deafening thunder and my three-foot radius of visibility, the path along the strand is a sodden-wet game of Blind Man’s Bluff, led only by the height of the water around my shins and the occasional fork of lightning that across the sky and the split-second of light it affords.
