Organic brown rice is a whole grain rice that is cultivated without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. It is unpolished and retains the bran and germ layers, making it a healthier option compared to white rice, which has been stripped of these parts during processing. The presence of these layers provides additional nutrients such as fiber, vitamins (especially B vitamins), minerals (like magnesium), and antioxidants.
Some benefits of organic brown rice include:
Higher nutritional content: It is rich in fiber, which aids digestion and helps in maintaining steady blood sugar levels.
Better for heart health: The antioxidants and fiber can contribute to a lower risk of heart disease.
Environmental benefits: Organic farming methods are better for the environment because they avoid the use of harmful chemicals and often promote sustainable agricultural practices.
When cooking organic brown rice, it typically requires a longer cooking time than white rice.

Hi everyone. As we all know things continue to get worse in Gaza, and Mohammed and his family desperately need funds. You’ve all been really helpful in raising funds for this campaign so far and I thank everyone who has spread these posts and donated. (verified, entry 174, row 178)
They have had to recently increase the funding target to €90k - these funds are paying for essential items like children’s diapers and food, which have skyrocketed in price and fluctuate daily. The price of a single pack of diapers is €50 ($53 USD) right now, and baby milk, as well as food staples such as rice and flour, are similarly expensive. While this graphic shows some of the cost inflation, price surges continue to worsen. A worm-infested bag of flour currently costs $100 USD.
They are still planning to evacuate as soon as that becomes possible and need to save up money for crossing the border, as well as for paying additional fees/taxes, which are absurdly high and taking advantage of Palestinians’ desperation to charge extortion rates while they attempt to flee and purchase basic necessities.
I know there are a lot of campaigns and donation posts going around right now. Mohammed and his wife have four young children and are taking care of them as best they can. You can read more about their family here:
I have been speaking with Mohammed every day. He is extremely kind. Please share his campaign and donate what you can.

I am not Haitian, and practice a non-Vodou form of spirituality. For some reason, I have a strong feeling that Papa Legba has entered my life and blessed me. I feel a strong urge to thank him by doing something in return. What is the best way to express my gratitude? Is it appropriate for me to leave offerings for him in my altar, or would that invoke his ire? I do not want anything in return, I just want to serve him.
Stuff for the lwa really shouldn't go on space utilized for any other reason; they are less likely to be enraged and just more uninterested.
Charity is always a good option and honestly one of the best for folks who want to give but are removed from a community to support them. Make a donation in his honor or do volunteer work in his name. The lwa love charity, and request it often from their children.
Charities, nonprofits, and NGOs that help Haitians are a great choice. Some places to donate that I really like and that are reputable:
MamaBaby Haiti: This nonprofit is one of very few organizations in Haiti providing prenatal, delivery, and post natal care to pregnant people in the country. Haiti has an incredibly high infant mortality rate due to the lack of both providers and medical facilities to assist with birth. MamaBaby Haiti provides free care to any pregnant person who shows up AND they train midwives who can serve in their own communities. They have built birthing centers and they go by car, boat, and donkey to remote communities to provide care to people who cannot reach them. They additionally pay to get folks who deliver in a hospital out of 'hospital jail'; if you receive care in a hospital in Haiti and cannot pay, they lock you in and refuse to let you leave until you do which means people who have just had c-sections are sleeping on open porches on the floor with their newborns because they cannot pay the bill. MamaBaby Haiti will pay that. They are in desperate fundraising space right now; their operating costs are about 50K USD/month due to the incredibly high cost of everything in Haiti, and they have started shuttering their centers which serve literally thousands of people per month. You can see a lot of their work on Instagram, too, at MamaBabyHaiti.
P4H Global: this org trains teachers in Haiti, which is important work, but the founder (on IG as Bertrhude) has been a one woman fundraiser to provide support for the Kanal Pap Kanpe/The Canal is not Stopping movement. The local food economy has been decimated by food surplus donations from foreign countries, and local farmers have lacked infrastructure to be able to develop local crops to sell. Three canals have been or are being built in communities that rely on agriculture to survive. Berthrude has been tirelessly fundraising to provide materials--cement, steel, gravel--and paychecks to the communities who are building them. This has had tangible results; Haiti was once known as a rice-growing country, and that is returning. The canals have been able to provide the flooding necessary for rice, and as of today the second harvest is underway the KPK (Kanal Pap Kanpe) rice. The price of a sack of local rice in the north has dropped from roughly $1500 local dollars to $1000 local dollars, which is a MASSIVE drop in a country where many people survive on $100 local dollars or less per month. Berthrude has been transparent in her financial tracking and the amounts raised are truly incredible.
Haitian Bridge Alliance: this org has been active at the US southern border aiding Haitians and others who arrived seeking entrance. They have helped innumerable folks navigate the Biden program and have provided free legal services to basically any migrant they come across at the border. Currently, they are in communities in Mexico doing ad hoc 'know your rights' community meetings for Haitians wanting to cross. Additionally, their legal team has successfully done big things like sueing corrupt Haitian government officials in international court for crimes against humanity.
Health Equity International: this org funds and supports one of (I think) 4 free hospitals in the entire country, and that hospital (St Boniface) has the only spinal cord rehabilitation clinic in the country, the only NICU in the country, the only 24/7 trauma operating room in the country, and currently 1 of 2 emergency rooms in the country. Their work is astounding. I personally know people who would have died witho their care.
If you cannot donate money, donate your time and labor. Any organization that provides shelter to unhoused families in the US or Canada is receiving Haitians from the border and needs volunteers. Food resources like food pantries, soup kitchens, and community meals always need hands. If you can't do physical work, coordinate a diaper drive for your local family shelter or a winter coat drive (70 degrees feels cold for just arrived Haitians...). Make sandwiches for street outreach teams. Donate bilingual children's books to your local library. Stuff like that is gold to the lwa.

Knockout reader and Sanemi met again at a teachers hangout at a bar she works at.
Summary: You pride yourself as the most beautiful techno-organic there was and your love for beautiful things knew no boundaries. Or your flirtiness.
Warnings: None
A/N: Reader, Fem!Reader, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Giyu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Obanai Iguro, Mitsuri Kanroji
Leaving Decepticons must have been the best decision of your life as you made yourself comfortable amongst the humans. As a techno-organic, your appearance was closer to that of a human than a Cybertronian's.
You were very keen on taking care of yourself and your appearance and you priced yourself as a beauty. Your long and bright vermilion hair was the talk around the city, your beauty stealing people's attention, but proper skincare and haircare cost money.
So you had gotten yourself a job as a bartender. As you didn't need as much sleep as humans, you could keep the bar open during the night until the morning shift would take over.
You had learned every drink there was, since you were awesome, and had even come up with some of your own specials that were a hit amongst the humans.
Well, either way, you were cleaning a pint when the bar's door chimed, letting you know you had more customers coming to enjoy your drinks.
"Welcome to Raven's Nest!" You greeted your guests and you were happy to see the good teachers from Kimetsu Academy. They came every now and then, but you weren't used to seeing such a huge bunch of them coming in at the same time!
"Oi, pleasure bot!" Tengen laughed as he took a seat by the bar's counter, his friends following his example.
You chuckled as you winked at the flashy man, "You know it better than anyone!"
You were very familiar with Tengen and his wives. Once, when you weren't careful, your Heat crept up from behind and Tengen and his beloved wives were helpful, and helped you to ease your Heat. After that, you knew whenever you needed company and fast, they were usually available.
"Where are your wives?" You asked, "You didn't leave poor things alone and come here to have fun without them?"
"My ladies wanted to stay back home, but they sent their regards to you," Tengen replied and you chuckled, "Tell them I miss them!"
"Oi, bitch!"
Ah, that familiar voice you hated to love. You turned and grinned as Sanemi took a seat next to the art teacher.
"Why, hi there, what would you like? The usual, Mister Lightweight?" You teased and the math teacher scowled as he flipped his middle finger at you, "Bitch."
"Old man hair."
"Prima Donna."
"Good to see you too, Nemi-chan." You chuckled and he groaned, "Shut up and get me a beer."
"Coming right up!" You chuckled as you quickly grabbed a pint and filled it with the amber liquor. As you handed the man his beer, you noticed a new handsome face take a seat and you grinned, "Hello there, handsome."
The teacher blinked before pointing at himself and you chuckled, "Yes, you! I haven't seen you here yet!"
"His name is Giyu Tomioka and he is a P.E. teacher back at the Academy," Tengen explained and you nodded as you took in the black-haired man's cool type of beauty. That's when you noticed something on the teacher's face.
"Did you guys eat before coming here?" You asked and they nodded, "Yeah, we had sushi. Why?"
"Oh, you got something there." You said as you pointed at Giyu's face. The teacher blinked as he wiped his face and you grinned, "Here, let me get it for you."
"Thank yo-!" The teacher was saying when you leaned over the counter and licked the corner of his mouth, snatching that small piece of rice stuck there.
"My, I don't know which one is more delicious, the rice or you?" You winked at him and the P.E. teacher froze. You giggled as you went to grab a bottle of alcohol from the shelf, but as soon as you turned your back, Giyu quickly made his way to the other side of the bar counter next to Sanemi, as far away from you as possible.
Seeing this made Sanemi laugh out loud, "Ha! Scaredy-cat!"
"Don't laugh Nemi-chan, you weren't any better on our first time!" You cackled and the white-haired man's face turned bright red, "Don't say things like that, people will get the wrong idea!"
"Will they?" You winked at him and Tengen laughed out loud.
That's when the door chimed again and you turned to greet new customers, only to see Kyojuro's and Obanai's familiar faces.
"Welcome welcome!" You said happily as you grabbed a small cup and a bottle of fine sake from the shelf.
"The usual for you, Handsome?" You asked Kyojuro who sat where Giyu had earlier been sitting. The man laughed, "Yes please, pretty miss!"
"Oh, you're getting double for sweet words!" You laughed as you handed the man his drink and then you turned to look at the teacher with the snake around his neck. Obanai was a mysterious one, whenever you served him a drink, you never saw him drink it. But his eyes were gorgeous so you didn't pay much attention to anything else.
"Hi there, Mister Snake," You called him with the nickname you had given to him and he frowned, "Shut up…"
"No harm no foul!" You said and that's when you noticed this pretty woman with pink hair hiding behind Obanai's back.
"Oh, hello there!" You grinned, "Please come out, I'm not gonna bite you!"
"Don't trust anything she says!" Sanemi snapped, but the woman still stepped ahead and smiled at you, "Nice to meet you! My name is Mitsuri Kanroji!"
"You're new, young miss," You noted as you examined the young woman from head to toe and you smiled, "And beautiful, absolutely gorgeous!"
You loved pretty things, other people, and yourself and you weren't ashamed of it.
"Oi-!" Obanai hissed, but Mitsuri just giggled as the two of them sat by the counter, "Thank you! It's actually my birthday so I'm finally old enough to have alcohol!"
"Well, happy birthday to you!" You cheered merrily, "Your drinks are free tonight!"
"Really?" Mitsuri smiled brightly and you nodded with a smile. Hah, how much could a petite girl like her drink, huh? Especially if this was her first time drinking!
Unknownst to you, Obanai and Sanemi were smirking behind your back, knowing that you made the biggest mistake of your life when you underestimated Mitsuri Kanroji and her appetite.
Two hours passed as if they were flying, but you were shocked.
"H- How…?" You wouldn't believe it if you weren't seeing it. This petite sweet girl had downed more drinks than you had ever seen a human drink and she didn't look like she was stopping anytime soon.
"So much liquor and such a small woman…" You shook your head as you looked and saw nearly everyone dead drunk, save for Mitsuri herself and Kyojuro.
"You guys are lucky you're beautiful…" You muttered, making Kyojuro laugh heartily while Mitsuri giggled, "One more Mimosa please, KO?"
"Anything for beauty like you!" You couldn't help yourself, you just loved beauty too much!
The next day you got scolded by your boss and he made you swear to limit birthday drinks to one drink only, and you agreed with him, fearing the fact that there were people like Mitsuri and Kyojuro who could drink more than they weighed. Humans were scarier than you thought.

How to Build Your Rice Brand Using Private Label Rice
Building a successful rice brand can seem like a daunting task, especially in an industry where there are so many established players. However, leveraging the power of private label rice can be a game-changer for entrepreneurs looking to enter the market. Using private label rice, you can offer a unique product without the complexities of farming and producing it yourself. Whether you’re starting a new rice business or looking to expand your existing brand, private labeling offers many benefits that can help you grow quickly and effectively.
In this blog, we’ll walk you through the steps to building a rice brand using private label rice. We’ll explore everything from understanding what private label rice is to choosing the right manufacturer and marketing your brand effectively.
Understanding Private Label Rice
Private label rice refers to rice that is produced by a third-party manufacturer and sold under your brand name. Instead of growing rice and managing production yourself, you partner with an established manufacturer who handles the entire process from sourcing to packaging. This allows you to focus on building your brand, while your supplier ensures product quality and consistency.
The biggest advantage of private labeling is that it allows you to create a unique rice product tailored to your brand identity without investing in farming or manufacturing infrastructure. Additionally, private labeling offers flexibility in terms of customizing rice varieties, packaging, and pricing to meet different consumer needs.
Selecting the right manufacturer
Selecting the right rice manufacturer is one of the most important steps in building your rice brand. You need a supplier who not only understands your brand vision but also aligns with your values regarding quality and consistency.
When choosing a rice manufacturer, consider the following factors:
Reputation and experience: Look for manufacturers with a proven track record in the rice industry. A reputable company ensures quality products and reliable service.
Quality control: Make sure the manufacturer follows strict quality control measures to guarantee consistency in your rice products.
Customization options: A good manufacturer should be able to offer multiple varieties of rice (Basmati, Jasmine, Long Grain, etc.) and provide packaging options that align with your brand.
Scalability: As your brand grows, your manufacturer should be able to scale up production to meet growing demand.
Ask the right questions during your initial discussions with manufacturers. Inquire about their certification, quality assurance processes, and delivery timelines. This will help you make an informed decision and establish a strong partnership that will lead to the success of your rice brand.
Customizing your product
Customization is key when it comes to private labeling. While the rice itself may come from a third-party manufacturer, how you present it to the market is entirely up to you. Customizing your private label rice product can help you differentiate your brand and offer consumers something unique.
Rice varieties: Depending on your target audience, you may want to focus on popular varieties like Basmati or Jasmine rice, or explore niche options like organic or specialty rice. Research market trends to determine which varieties will resonate best with your customers.
Packaging: Packaging plays a key role in branding. Choose packaging that is both functional and visually appealing. Sustainable packaging options are also becoming increasingly popular, so consider eco-friendly materials to align with modern consumer preferences.
Branding elements: Design an appealing logo, brand name, and tagline. These elements should reflect your brand’s quality and values, creating a connection with your target market.
Customizing your private label rice can help you offer a product that resonates with your customers and stands out on the shelf.
Market your private label rice brand
Effectively marketing your private label rice brand is essential to building recognition and increasing sales. You can leverage both traditional and digital marketing channels to reach your audience.
Social media: Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest are great for visual storytelling. Share high-quality images of your rice products, recipes, and the story behind your brand to connect with your audience.
Website and e-commerce: Create a user-friendly website that showcases your rice brand and makes it easy for consumers to buy directly from you. If you’re not ready for a full e-commerce setup, consider listing your product on popular online marketplaces like Amazon or eBay.
Content marketing: Write blogs and create video content that educate consumers about the different types of rice, how to cook them, and the health benefits. This establishes your brand as an authority in the rice industry and builds trust with your audience.
In-store promotions: If you're selling in physical stores, consider offering discounts, samples or in-store promotions to encourage trial and increase brand visibility.
Marketing means telling your brand's story and connecting with your audience. Use these strategies to increase awareness and build loyalty among your customers.

The Permanent underclass is coming for Black women.
youtube
What is the permanent underclass?
The underclass is the segment of the population that occupies the lowest possible position in a class hierarchy, below the core body of the working class. Black women in America will hear this and will probably dismiss it as another thing to focus on later. Another one of millions of warnings heard in the media. Yet another lecture that can be worried about in the distant future. But it can’t. In a matter of years, Black Americans will be a permanent underclass in the United States.
While Black women are statistically shown climbing up the ladder of wealth, as a collective, Black women are still on track to fail. The demographic will be placed in a position of society where social and financial mobility will be impossible. This is a place where Black American women have been before but this time no amount of hard work, higher education, or fighting the system will fix it. The permanent underclass is permanent.
How to avoid it?
As a collective, you can’t. As an individual you can take steps to ensure yourself and your daughters are as far away from perpetual poverty as possible. But it won’t be easy.
#1 Income
Black women are very proud of being the fastest growing group of business owners in America. This is a great feat, but unfortunately it won’t help. The vast majority of businesses being opened are not recession proof, let alone underclass proof. These businesses tend to be side hustles rather than profitable and growing organizations. Instead of beauty products, Black women will need to make the shift to STEM related fields and high earning, recession proof career paths. I personally believe most Black women thrive in careers such as healthcare and more creative tech careers. Same as the businesses, we can often hear the boasting of Black women being the most college educated in America. But again, we can see the income and social standing is not reflecting this higher education. Why? Besides Black women’s poor choice in male partners and negative culture indulgences, Black women have not kept up with turns in the economy and failed to adjust for the future. We unfortunately are held back by doing what’s familiar or comfortable, instead of breaking barriers or floating to careers that bring political influence and higher incomes. The best thing we have is that we are also one of the fastest growing groups of property owners and land, is a wealth building tool.
As one person, you should research what STEM career would fit your personality. How much schooling are you willing to go through to secure this future? Have you looked into the various free resources available to get into tech or medicine? Which jobs are not going to be replaced by AI?
Prepping and investing is one of the best ways to prepare for the upcoming economic depression. Buying gold, silver, and other assets that increase in value when the value of the dollar continues to decrease. Anyone that hasn’t started prepping now is already late. I personally started prepping around 2020 and the price of the items I got now has doubled or tripled. Buying toiletries, canned food, long lasting food like rice and beans, is the only way to ensure you have food in your belly when everyone else is scrapping together $20 for a piece of bread in the near future. It’s important to also prepare for the civil unrest and crime hikes that follow high prices and chaos. Everything you prep and collect should be protected by a firearm. The Black American woman’s way for hundreds of years has been to petition the government and protest when things go wrong but this will do absolutely nothing to stop you from sliding into the underclass. The normalcy bias everyone has in their brain conditions them to think everything will be fine and stay normal, this prevents people from acknowledging problems and taking proper steps to jump over hurdles. The growing Black femicide rate that’s also been largely ignored by Black women will be the biggest jump in crime in this country, and most Black women will be too late in their responses to this. Black women have been unwilling to protect themselves from the terrorist of their communities and mostly refuse to protect themselves financially. This is a guaranteed ticket to the underclass and being the biggest targets for criminals.
Unfortunately some Black women have allowed themselves to fall for distractions and social media propaganda to engage in discourse about celebrity gossip and marriage. Some of these women seem to think getting married and just having a “father in the home” will fix all the issues they have. The truth is, when Black women marry males who look like them, they lose wealth. Unless you are marrying a man of means in a community that actually has resources, your focus should not be on marriage or males. Dating and marriage is not all about money but you also have to worry about abuse and what values you want your children to learn. Even still, other people are not your heroes and your priority should be helping yourself first and other likeminded Black women. Depending on others is not an acceptable solution.
#2 Don’t let yourself be chained and dragged down
You can’t separate yourself from your demographic, but you can’t rely on other Black women to do better for you. If you are the only Black woman you know aware of what’s going on and taking proper steps, you can try to educate others but understand this journey will be lonely. You cannot control the actions of other Black women. As Edna Mode from the Incredibles would say, “No capes!” You have to burn the cape if you want to move forward as yourself. Not as a woman, Black person, or an American. Allowing your group or other groups to grab onto you is detrimental to not only your financial success, but also your safety and social mobility. Black women let their empathy for others and desire to be needed be their downfall and you should be mindful of not participating in this. You are the target for people in need, the one group people go to, knowing Black women have a history of putting the needs of others before their own. They need attention, clout, money, protection, or defense and you should provide none of that. Only providing for yourself, your daughter, and other likeminded Black women in your immediate circle is the proper way to move forward.
You have to do what you can as an individual, while being mindful that as a Black woman you are treated by others as a monolith. You can walk into an interview being perfect, and that could not stop a hiring manager from throwing every stereotype onto you and not giving you the job. But before dismissing your image or collective reputation as a factor in your finances and social mobility, understand your “community” can provide nothing to you. Has never and will never. The hospitals, jobs, first responders, grocery stores, banks, etc that you interact with are all owned by people who don’t look like you. To me, respectability politics is just a buzz word used to dismiss uncomfortable conversations and truths. But there’s nothing more uncomfortable than starving and having no resources in your reach.
#3 Work towards building YOUR own community, a real community this time
What do you do with this knowledge now that you know what’s coming? Do you get on the internet and complain and urge fellow Black people to get it together? No. Do you persist that something needs to change in your community and talk about “building together?” No. You’ve already done this for hundreds of years and look where you are. Learn from mistakes or be insane and continue doing the same thing. You need to accept that the Wakanda in your head will never be built and the vast majority of people that look like you will never wake up. Some of them have already woken up and the way they behave is the way they choose to be. In 2023, some Black women have already been smart enough to separate themselves from a community that has failed them in every way and seems persistent to continue to. There is no reason to continually pour your energy and time into a group that does not serve you. Understand that you are an individual and serve yourself. People that look like you understand they are done as a collective and will try their hardest to pull you down with them. Or they can attempt to step on you to place themselves above you, but that won’t work so you don’t have to worry about them. Become indistractable.
You don’t have to waste time and energy arguing with other people, trying to convince others to see your way, or trying to shame people that have no pride or shame. In your journey of putting yourself first, don’t get stuck in this phase.
There’s many important steps to take on this journey and one of them is sisterhood. Coming together with likeminded Black women not to rant about the black community and gossip but to support each other on your journey to saving yourself as a Black woman. There should be a concerted effort to seeking out Black women who have similar goals to you and helping each other in any way you can.
As common sense and more successful cultures have shown us, no one is superhuman and able to do everything by themselves. Something I’ve noticed about the soft life movement and frequent social media comments is, Black women have no aspirations or intentions of doing very difficult things by themselves. There is no nobility in struggling. If you don’t pass on wealth, land, and self sufficient knowledge to your daughters, you are setting them up to be a slave.
A woman of no color on TikTok recently went viral with a video proclaiming she was looking for another woman to marry so they could share benefits with each other, help each other with their children, and split bills. Despite the fact that Black women will suffer the most in this upcoming depression, I haven’t seen any similar solutions or attempts to come together from Black women.
A lack of support will usher in a new wave of untreated mental and physical illness that comes with stress and a lack of access to healthy food and healthcare.
Why are Black women going into the permanent underclass?
To put it plainly, every demographic outside of Black women benefits from and has a vested interest in seeing another group beneath them. It helps them feel better about their failures, it helps them exploit, and to get away with harm and abuse. Even as migrants take over the majority of the working class, you can still be used and exploited. Black women were brought to America to breed more slaves and what better way to make sure that can happen than Black girls and women being stuck in a major city surrounded by sexual predators, being inundated with hypersexual propaganda, illegal abortion, and no money to get themselves out of the situation. Every cry for help will be met with people screaming how it’s your fault and you need to stop crying victim all the time. No one will come to save you or your daughters. Your sons will have a swift and open entrance to prison. If you are not proactive in staying out of the underclass, you WILL end up there. Once you safely avoid the underclass, the next step is to learn how to maintain wealth. Pass it to the next generation while navigating society being apart of the demographic now tied to the bottom.

Loblaws Boycott. How to get affordable food?
Today is May 1st; which means it is the start of the Loblaws Boycott across Canada. For those unfamiliar with the situation, food prices in Canada have been climbing to astronomical sums. Our main chain Grocery Stores keep increasing prices beyond what is normal inflation. Because they know as Mortals, we need to eat. And the further north you go, the worse it gets. They have already been caught artificially raising Bread prices a few years back, and blaming the price hike on the War in Ukraine. They set a price, We pay for it, and then they keep the price cause clearly people are willing to pay /s
So a boycott has been organized by people of Canada through social media and has even been talked about by TV News Outlets. The idea being to speak with your wallet and pressure change. The problem for many, however, is...Loblaws is just so massive, they don't see other alternatives. They own No Frills, Great Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drugmart, and a ton more. For many Canadians, it seems like Loblaws is their only option in their area.
So I want to provide a list of some options for people to still get fed. Or even if you don't want to engage in the boycott, you just wanna find affordable food.
Costco and Walmart If a friend of family member has a Costco Membership and is willing to take you with them, do it. The workers there don't police who has the membership, so long as someone has one. You can bulk buy a bunch of staples like Meat, Cheese, Toilet Paper and Coffee for much cheaper in the long run. However, Buying in bulk is not always feasible for everyone. They either don't have the space or they can't afford to drop a few hundred dollars on a single shop. Walmart is a controversial suggestion because they have some....history. And your values may require you to not shop at Walmart. But if you need some accessible groceries for reasonable prices, Walmart actually has a very good selection.
2) International/Local Stores This is not really an option if you live more rural. But if you can find a nearby Asian Grocer or Halal Store you can get a lot of stuff. And not just rice. Legumes, Beans, Meat, Seafood; you'd be surprised how much you can get. You may also find a gem of a bakery or butcher.
3) Farmers Markets It's getting to growing season in Canada. Be Sure to check your near by Farmers Markets. You'll mostly find Fruits and Veggies, but may also be some local honey and eggs if you're lucky. This is also a great option for people who feel eating Organic food is important.
4) Food Waste Apps There is a surprising amount of apps dedicated to preventing food waste by selling you food that is about to be thrown away. The food is still good, and the reason for Discarding varies, but commonly it's because it's approaching it's best before date or Expiration date. Food can still be consumed after it's best before date, so long as it's not spoilt. Different areas will have different Levels of Activity on Different apps. A store needs to opt in before you can buy anything. So check out a few different ones. Flash Foods, Food Hero, and Too Good to Go are popular.
5) Ugly Food Boxes A lot of food gets chucked cause it doesn't conform to our expectation of how that food should look. It grew in a weird way and despite being totally fine to eat; Stores don't want to sell them. So you can get Subscription Boxes of Ugly Produce. Which I think is kinda fun. I remember being younger and my mom pointing out the funny shaped peppers. This isn't entirely a new concept, and many people would of probably heard of Imperfect Foods. However, this is a USA only service; useless to us Canadians. But we can try Odd Bunch or Eat Impact. The bonus with this is it's delivered directly to you. Great for people like myself who can't Drive but love to cook.
6) Meal Kits You see it all the time on Youtube: Try Hello Fresh and get so many meals free, yada yada. Well....it might be worth a try. You can cancel these kits at any time, and them hop back on them later. Like a streaming service. A friend of mine apparently does this. Ordering a box when the value of what they're offering is worth the price to her. Not a great option if you tend to forget to cancel subscriptions *cough* (Hi) but it can be a really smart way to get exactly what you want for a good price. Plus if you use a sponsor code, or a coupon in the mail.... Hello Fresh and Make Good Food are the two more well known meal kits available in Canada.

There's nothing worse than waltzing down the grocery store aisle, filling up your basket, walking to the cashier and end up looking at a crazy expensive number on your bill. "Where did that come from?", you might wonder. If you're trying to be mindful of your health, and you're buying organic groceries and things that are good for your body, it can be really disappointing to end up paying a pretty penny every time you go to the grocery store. But it doesn't have to be that way! Follow these easy tips to save on your grocery bill and stay within your budget.
1) Plan Your Meals and Make a List. This is the starting point of everything. Start by planning and writing down a meal plan for you and your family for the entire week, and write the list of foods you'll need to cook those meals. When you're doing this meal plan, be mindful of the seasonal fruits and vegetables, as they're usually cheaper than their non-seasonal counterparts. Then, check your refrigerator and pantry to see if you already have some of those items or others that might work as fine substitutions. For example, you might have planned to make a quinoa salad, but you have a bag of wild rice sitting in your pantry. This could work just as well and you'll end up saving money! Check off the items you already have from your list. Finally, you're ready to go grocery shopping.
2) Never Shop When You're Hungry. This might seem a little far-fetched, but shopping when you're hungry can have terrible results! You'll deviate from your list, end up with a cart full of unhealthy stuff that only seemed appealing because your stomach was growling, and you'll spend a lot more than what you had intended. Another great tip is to stick to the produce section of the supermarket; that way, you'll stick to fruits and vegetables and avoid all the packaged and processed stuff. Eating a bowl of this seasonal and delicious Crunchy Fruit Salad before you head out to the supermarket will fill you up, curb cravings, and prevent you from making any irrational decisions.
3) Buy in Bulk. If you’re buying stuff that doesn’t really have a shelf life, then it might make sense to buy in bulk to save a bit more. Stuff such as pasta (made from approved grains), wild rice, oil, seeds, as well as household essentials, can be much cheaper when you buy them in bulk. It's also a more ecological option, as you're cutting down on significant packaging than when you buy individually wrapped items.
4) Check Online For Discounts. If the supermarket or store has a website, it might be a good idea to shop online so you can stay within your budget. You can also check a few different supermarkets to see which one has the best prices, shop online, and have them deliver your groceries to your home, thus saving on gas as well. For fruits and vegetables, an organic farmer's market is always the best option, and it can be pretty cheap if you buy stuff that it's in season. Remember that buying in season it's better for you - and the environment. It's a win-win situation! This Blueberry Cobbler is made with seasonal ingredients, it's healthy, and your family will surely love it.
5) Eat Leftovers. If you make a big dinner and end up with a ton of leftovers, don't toss them away! They can make a great lunch the next day. If you have leftover soup, stew, pasta sauce or pancakes, you can even freeze them and eat up to 2 weeks after you made them. For example, this Chickpea Lime Soup is a great dinner option - and makes a ton of leftovers.

How Does Zakat Charity Help Combat Hunger in Yemen?
Yemen is facing one of the most severe humanitarian crises in modern history. Millions of people, including children, are struggling to survive amidst food shortages, poverty, and conflict. This situation has made the role of Zakat charity more critical than ever, especially during Ramadan, when giving becomes a spiritual obligation. But how exactly does Zakat charity help combat hunger in Yemen, and why should we prioritize donation to Yemen?
In this article, we’ll explore the transformative power of Zakat charity, how it aligns with Islamic values, and how your Yemen donation can make a real difference in alleviating hunger. Let’s break it down into manageable steps to understand the impact.
Why Is Yemen Facing a Hunger Crisis?
Before diving into how Zakat helps, it’s essential to understand the gravity of the situation in Yemen. Prolonged conflict, economic collapse, and blockades have left the country with:
Over 16 million people facing food insecurity.
Malnutrition affecting 2.2 million children.
Limited access to clean water and basic healthcare.
This dire situation makes Yemen food donation and Zakat contributions crucial for survival. Without intervention, the hunger crisis will continue to claim countless lives.
Role of Zakat in Fighting Hunger
When you choose to give Zakat, you’re directly addressing hunger in Yemen. Here’s how:
a) Providing Immediate Food Relief
Zakat funds are often used to distribute essential food packs to families in Yemen. These packs include staple items like rice, flour, and cooking oil, which can sustain a family for weeks.
b) Supporting Sustainable Food Programs
Some organizations use Zakat to fund long-term projects like agricultural training or community farming. These initiatives empower Yemeni families to grow their food, reducing dependency on aid.
c) Reaching Remote Areas
Zakat-funded charities work tirelessly to deliver aid to remote and conflict-affected regions where hunger is most severe.
How Does Your Donation to Yemen Help?
Your donation to Yemen through Zakat can save lives in several ways:
Immediate Relief: Provides meals to those on the brink of starvation.
Healthcare Support: Malnourished children often need medical care, which Zakat helps fund.
Community Strengthening: By addressing basic needs, Zakat helps rebuild communities.
The Spiritual Rewards of Giving Zakat
For Muslims, Zakat is not only about helping others but also about spiritual growth. The act of giving:
Strengthens your connection with Allah.
Purifies your wealth.
Brings peace of mind, knowing you’ve fulfilled your religious obligation.
This Ramadan, why not fulfill your Zakat by supporting a help Yemen charity? Your contribution will bring hope to families in despair.
Success Stories: Real Impact of Zakat in Yemen
To see the tangible impact of Zakat, let’s explore real-life examples:
Family of Five in Taiz: Zakat donations provided a monthly supply of food and water, enabling the family to survive through tough times.
Empowered Women in Aden: Zakat funds supported women-led agricultural projects, fostering independence and food security.
These stories highlight how your Yemen donation transforms lives.
Why Yemen Food Donation Is Critical During Ramadan
Ramadan is a time for reflection, prayer, and giving. For Yemen, this holy month amplifies the need for food donations. During Ramadan:
Hunger worsens due to rising food prices.
Families rely on charity to break their fast.
Your Yemen food donation ensures that no family goes hungry during this sacred time.
How to Choose the Best Zakat Charity for Yemen
Not all charities are created equal. To ensure your Zakat reaches those who need it most, consider the following:
Transparency: Look for charities that provide detailed reports on fund usage.
Local Reach: Choose organizations with on-ground teams in Yemen.
Impact: Focus on charities with proven success in fighting hunger.
Organizations like Yemen Relief specialize in delivering aid to Yemen’s most vulnerable communities.
Combating Hunger with Collective Effort
The hunger crisis in Yemen requires a united effort. By pooling resources through Zakat, individuals can make a larger impact. Collective Zakat contributions:
Fund large-scale food distribution programs.
Build long-term solutions like water wells and community farms.
Provide medical aid for malnourished children.
Every contribution, big or small, plays a role in combating hunger.
Conclusion
In a world where millions are suffering, your Zakat charity can be a beacon of hope. By choosing to make a donation to Yemen, you’re not just fulfilling a religious obligation but also saving lives. Whether it’s a Yemen food donation or support for a help Yemen charity, your contribution makes an enormous difference.
This Ramadan, let’s unite to combat hunger and bring relief to Yemen. Visit Yemen Reliefto make your donation today. Together, we can create a better future for Yemen’s most vulnerable.
