also yes -- the cat's name is orenji, i have an orange cat and literally named him orenji (he was a stray and I didn't want to name him bc i didn't want to get attached but I did ended up keeping him)

Top five moments you've felt like the universe was messing with you.

Oh boy everyone get ready this is a long list. In descending order, from mildly funny looking back on it to "oh god oh shit oh fuck":

5. Catfishing: College Edition

In 6th grade, I decided to apply to colleges early to see how they were like. I was scared that if they knew I was too young, they'd arrest me. So I created a gmail account as my persona, a white 12th grader named Emilie Alexander. Emilie was planning to go into nursing, dating a high school linebacker named Kyle Kenderson, and deathly allergic to bee stings. If she even came near a bee, she would die.

This part was of the utmost importance.

See, I was constantly paranoid that one day, the jig would be up- I might forget that my fake last name was Alexander. Or the college dean might come knocking at my door and tear up my home in his mad search for Emilie. If that happened I would fake her tragic death, presumably caused by one big fucking bee.

I secretly collected my information. What nearby states were the prettiest to visit. Which colleges were the safest and most affordable. How often they held courses that I liked. In my emails with colleges I tried to sound as mature and professional as possible.

Then, one day, a college member asked me what high school I was in, so they could check my records.

My blood froze.

It was time to bring out the bee.

In response to their question, I sent an email that was like this:

"Dear Mr. McLaughlin, I was a proud graduate of- ugh! Ah! Kyaaaa! Uwaa! W-w-what's this... huge goddamn bee doing here?! Eek, pardon my foul language! It's just that, as I told you earlier, being stung by a bee would kill me.... and now it's stung me thrice (three times)!!

What do I do?! I can't die... I've always wanted to attend your beautiful college...

But this is... the end...

Mr. McLaughlin...

*looks at you sadly*

Tell... my mother... I loved her...

*dies*"

He never responded, probably because he was rendered speechless, but I never touched that account again.

My private gmail for fun stuff like tumblr still has "Alexander" as a surname, though.

4. Wild and Authentic

Alright. Alright. So. My art teacher in middle school.

Right off the bat, they endeared themselves to the tumblr art kids- they proudly used they/them pronouns, dyed their hair vibrant colors, deeply encouraged OC creation, and was chill with any art style even if it was anime. Mx. Mason was very cool, except for one thing.

We had complete artistic freedom when it came to their assignments, EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.

Cats had to have extremely distinct whisker pores.

YES, they believed that modern depictions of cats were too streamlined. Too... idealized. As a cat owner themselves, they were convinced that society's vision of cats did not do their feral feline ancestors justice. In making their faces flawlessly smooth-furred, we were stripping the cat of its true nature.

I found this out the hard way, when I was drawing warrior cats fanart for class (it was of Firestar cuddled in the arms of an orange haired anime catgirl who was his reincarnation in my first ever comic series, Warriors Neko Desu! ♡ Heart Academy Dokidoki).

Mx. Mason came over to look at my magnum opus, and I expected them to have their socks knocked off at my artistic talent. They lifted up my drawing for all to see, and I smugly leaned back in my seat.

Only for them to launch into a passionate lecture about how, in neglecting to draw whisker pores on cats, I was DENYING THIS FICTIONAL CAT OF ITS WILD AUTHENTIC SELF.

My friends absolutely lost it when I told them this story, and there was a period of time when all our discord nicknames were wild and authentic too.

As for Firestar and his counterpart Hoshineko Orenji-chan, I never did give them wild authentic whisker holes, but that's to be expected of a kittypet, I guess.

3. Stan Jungkook Or Whatever

A couple years ago, my family and I flew to Seoul, South Korea, to visit our relatives and teach me more about my heritage. It was very nice! I got to visit shrines and festivals and palaces, and I was in awe that this was what my ancestors had once seen in their daily lives.

Then, when we went to the modern side of Korea, I realized just how much I didn't fit in.

It was clear that I didn't know how to act, or how to speak Korean, and I spent my days fumbling around and getting scammed multiple times by salesmen. But I clowned myself the most... during an interactive event with kpop stars.

They had this experimental event where holograms of the boys would sing onstage and dance in place of the actual idols. Before the show began, girls could stand in booths that scanned their appearances, and holograms of THEM could dance onstage with the hologram boys.

I didn't know this.

When Cousin Ae-cha told me to step inside one of the machines, I thought I'd be hilarious and stand backwards, so it would scan the back of me instead of my front. As I walked out, I saw other girls putting on their best makeup, cutest clothes, and most expensive accessories, and I slowly realized that I was in danger.

But the danger didn't come until halfway through the concert, where the boys looked eagerly off-stage and a holy staircase appeared and all the hologram girls descended from heaven. There were cherry blossoms. There were roses. There was me, among the crowd of beautiful airbrushed girls, walking backwards.

I felt the judgemental gazes of twenty girls and their mothers.

Each boy danced with a girl, who got a cute animated moment with special effects, and sang about how they found a dream girl to have a true love romance with. Finally, all the girls vanished except one, and it was me.

One of the boys didn't dance with any girls, and now he was all alone in the rain, feeling dejected that HE did not find his true love girl to have a dream romance with. Then the rain stopped, the sun came out, and I emerged. Still backwards.

He was thrilled and sang about how my face (that he didn't see) stole his heart, and now everyone in the audience was giggling, and he slowly brought me very close to kiss me... but because I was backwards, his nose was cutely nuzzling my hair.

The audience members- at least the adults- were now laughing their asses off. His lips met the back of my head, and together we vanished into the wind.

I'd say I couldn't show my face there ever again, but I never did show my face, so... hm...

2. Horrid Little Temptress

If I wasn't a minor, I'd need a drink before starting this story. Sadly, I cannot drown my sorrows- and neither should you after you hear this, because it's only fair.

Mrs. Appleby was my Spanish teacher in like, 9th grade. Even the wild and authentic art teacher thought she was insane. Appleby forced kids to brew tea for her and yelled at them when they didn't get it right, and I thought she had a chronic squint until I realised she just did that to mock me and my Asian eye-folds. She forced us to watch Dora the Explorer to "absorb knowledge." Everyone fucking hated Mrs. Appleby.

But the worst thing she ever did... was during the school festival.

See, whenever she's angry, she zooms right into kids' faces to scream at them. Her wrinkled flesh would blot out the goddamn sun and all you see are her bloodshot yellow eyeballs so victims just stayed rooted to the spot like cornered animals or something similar. This is important.

Because when she was sampling her own brownies (read: hoarding them so no one else could eat them), one parent foolishly decided to grab one and she thought it was a student and she grabbed his wrist so hard she could've nearly snapped it and... and... zoomed into his face.

Except she underestimated his height and kissed him by accident, but it was more like her mouth was sucking in his face like a vacuum.

His wife was shrieking like an ape. His kid, my classmate, saw his social life flash before his eyes.

If I had decided to not be kind, I never would've heard that string of fucking words. But I did. And I paid for it dearly. The end.

1. Violence IS The Answer, Sometimes

Thomas, my dearly detested.

Back in sixth grade, I used to have a crush on him because he had the surfer boy look with nicely tanned skin and pale blond hair and the clearest aquamarine eyes I've ever seen. He also liked surfing and swimming. He seemed like the perfect little trophy waifu except for one absolute dealbreaker.

He and his parents were extremely conservative and so, when I told him I liked him, his response was basically "haha no you're a [slur] and would probably eat my dog."

I was horrified and ran away to cry. But then, by the next day, I decided I needed to punish him. Thomas walked in before class started and I was waiting for him with these hands. I kicked him so he doubled over, slammed his face into his chair's seat, and quickly clambered on top of him to SIT ON THE BACK OF HIS HEAD. He started shaking and twitching and trying to pry me off, but eventually he went limp and stopped moving.

I thought he fell asleep, but Mohammed, another classmate who was bullied by Thomas, told me that Thomas might never wake up again (not that he was very sad about this. I didn't know until later, but Thomas said slurs at him too).

While I was sitting on the guy, he'd straight up passed out from the lack of oxygen.

Screaming and crying, I told our homeroom teacher that Thomas suddenly fainted, and she was the type of Caucasian that thought all little Asian kids were sweet and innocent, so it didn't even cross her mind that? It might've been me? Who sat on his head when she walked in?

He was sent home early that day. I had to go to a different school next year because Thomas's mom threatened legal action. The only reason I didn't get punished further was because my rich cousins out-Karen'd her and donated a huge amount of money to the school to keep them quiet.

Anyway, I never did anything that insane ever again, because something like that is enough for a lifetime. My cousins made it clear they would never back me up again. I was sure this whole event would be put behind me, too.

But last fall, during my first day of online learning... who did I see in my zoom meeting... BUT THOMAS! I had my mic and camera off, but the moment he saw my name, his face went pale. His soul would've left his body, but then it would've gone to hell, so it wisely decided to stay inside.

Still, out of shame and embarrassment, I never turned my camera on for the rest of the school year.

What is it really?

This Au was supposed to be a pacifist. Due to a near cataclysmic event that happened in this universe it is difficult to know exactly what caused its disappearance.

The only witness capable of explaining the cause of this self-erasing Au is his Sans, although he does not remember it due to fainting, apparently the impact erased something important.

He said that his name was never Sans, that it was a nickname, he calls himself Eight, one of the 12 ... What does it mean that he belongs to the 12?

If you ask who is narrating this, it is said by a friend of Eight, Jackson, I can not say that AU came from since it would be Spoiler my friend.

All this my enigmatic friend told me.

At first he was a jovial, sociable, relaxed and not very serious sans, after witnessing the cataclysm that ended up destroying his universe.

He became calm, serious and more reserved, apart from showing things seriously, he shows to be constantly alert.

They have a great distrust of those around them, especially the Charas.

He does not feel a feeling of greatness of his achievements to save others, only satisfaction of doing the right thing, he does his best not to be so visible to the rest of Sans and other people in the multiverse.

He prefers to do what he considers to be work in the shadows and anonymously.

Ah, unlike the original Sans, he hates jokes and jokes. Ketchup does not like. Apart from being someone quite active and competent.

He has a taste for board games, especially dominoes.

It is more accessible with children and the elderly.

He likes cats and dogs.

Character / Background

After being in the vacuum of his AU, he was found by Core Frisk, since it took him to the Omega line, he was for a while learning to handle his new magic, one day he decided to leave it to start a trip to know better the multiverse.

In one of his trips he meets Horror Sans, who wants to kill him, to his bad luck he was transformed into a human so Horror wanted to devour him. When trying to defend himself, he discovers that he can make two types of weapons appear, which he called Aoi Shio and Nigai Orenji. Inadvertently he opened a portal that led him to Underswap, managing to escape Horror.

He was a prisoner for Berry for a few minutes until he returned to normal to the surprise of Swap Papyrus and Berry, who did not finish asking him questions. After taking him to undyne to do some studies, Berry introduces him to another Sans named Jackson. At first he did not like me as he kept making several bad jokes.

In an unexpected moment, screams are heard from Grillby's, everyone is on their way until they manage to see that the cause is another sans but very different, it was Killer, Papyrus and Jackson began to fight against that Sans, Berry helped evacuate to the area together with other monsters.

Eight froze, recalling the cataclysm again, her thoughts being interrupted by Papyrus and Jackson. Killer had Berry who was about to kill him. Papyrus managed to save him but suffered a stab in the shoulder.

Jackson made Killer back down as well as give him a fight, Eight when seeing such an act made his yellow weapon (Nigai) appear and attacked Killer, gave him some battle, Jackson and Eight joined forces and managed to expel Killer through a portal.

Eight ended up fainting. After a few minutes he woke up at Undyne's house, where Berry, Papyrus, and Jackson were. Jackson told her that Undyne did some studies for her that she has 2 human souls apart from only having half a monster soul, she believes this is the reason why she transforms into a human.

Jackson tells him about the existence of Sans in the multiverse who are equal to Killer, who come to an AU either to eliminate it or simply make its inhabitants suffer.

Due to this experience, in addition to learning about the existence of these Sans, Eight makes the decision to become an anonymous vigilante protector of the Au.

Weapons / Skills

To fight and defend himself, he most frequently uses his weapons which are the Aoi Shio and Nigai Orenji, better known as the Shio sword and the Nigai spear.

He rarely uses his blue magic and bone summoning

The only thing he cannot use frequently in battle is his Gaster Blaster

When wearing them for a long time, if you exceed the time limit, the wound on your left eye begins to expand. If that happens, he loses control like sanity and becomes a bloodthirsty killer.

Not being able to use 89% of his powers like other sans this limits him and gives him a slight disadvantage.

He specialized in hand-to-hand combat.

He manages his two weapons to perfection, and creates his own traps.

One of the abilities he has is that he can transform into a human temporarily, although this is something that he cannot control of his own free will, since he does not know for sure when he will become a human.

The transformation has caused problems such as the occasion that Horror wanted to devour him. Having been kidnapped and another for scaring a town.

The only way he can tell when he will turn human is when the unhealed wound in his left eye begins to ache.

Undyne of Underswap believes that this is due to Eight not possessing in its entirety his monster soul, the two human souls that are united to his soul cause the transformation. Although he does not know why they cause the pain in his eye.

Relations

Jackson became a great friend to him, although he is constantly annoyed by someone he can trust.

With Core he had little problems but he gets along well with her. The Omega line is a temporary home for him.

He doesn't know many in the Multiverse as he prefers to be someone anonymous. The times when he interacts, he is a bit ostile but he becomes understanding and calm.

Curiosities

The only friendship he has made are with Berry, Jackson and Core Frisk.

When he loses control he claims to be someone named "A", belonging to the 12.

He has a journal in which he writes information on other Auses and Sans, apart from containing some of his Au's history along with his first days in the void after his Au disappeared. The diary was a birthday present from his Papyrus and his Frisk.

He was unaware of Ink's existence until he accidentally ran into it in a battle with Error.

The name of their weapons are in Japanese, translated into Spanish are Blue Tide (Aoi Shio) and Bitter Orange (Nigai Orenji).

His Gaster Blasters somehow have a conscience of his own, since they sometimes give him advice when it comes to fights. Each Gaster Blaster has different features, one is yellow with a scar on his left eye just like Eight's, the other is light blue with no scar.

His taste for sushi and oriental food came from a visit to an Au who was set in feudal Japan.

He is a somewhat lonely Sans and is rarely accompanied by any other Sans, other than Jackson

He does not consider himself a hero as such, despite being calm and preferring to resolve things through dialogue. He will not hesitate to kill whoever disturbs the peace in the Aus. As in a case in which he traveled to Underfell, where he ended up killing two monsters that he considered dangerous.

The only parallel version of them is its Fell version called Tooc, it does not have a Swap version.

When redesigning the character, his personality and attitudes are inspired by the Quiverwing Duck character. While its design is inspired by Cross Sans.

I needed to clarify a few things to the new Eight, since I did not think I was creating a more complex story for him.

It is the only information I will give so far.

This Au believes it as of 2017. I don't remember the exact date.

The comics of this Sans I left them suspended due to my dedication to other projects. But it still stands to continue the comics.

Question Time!

@orenji-glad tagged me and in keeping with my usual I won’t be tagging anyone.  But if you do reply to this which I encourage everyone to take a chance to do, tag me!  I’d like to get to know you better!

Nickname: I don’t have one, the name my parents gave me is too short.  On here I go by Evee, that’s the nickname for the long name I picked for myself which is Evangeline...which I have no reason to adopt irl life except that it’s beautiful. Also Evee is the name of the main character in V for Vendetta which is like my favorite comic book, although she spells it differently.  

Zodiac: I’m a Leo but I don’t really believe in the Zodiac despite being deeply religious and spiritual I can also be very Cynical.

Height: 5' 7″

Hogwarts House: I flip flop between Ravenclaw and Slytherin but also sometimes I get Hufflepuff...I am NOT a Griffindor the extroverted little shits. Also JK is trash.

Last thing I googled: Why King George was “mad” and 2 seconds later how to spell Philippines (I can’t spell place names ever, even though I can spell things like “esoteric” and “pneumonia” with ease).

Lucky number: I like numbers that are pretty, like 7 or 14 or 21.  These are all very elegant and useful numbers.  I do not like numbers like 62, he’s just kinda pedantic...I may be slightly synesthetic because I like numbers that are kind of yellow when I think of them, like multiples of 7.  62 is blue which is okay but not as exciting as 21 which is bright like the sun.

Dream job: Para educator, aka teachers assistant.  Unfortunately it doesn’t pay enough to live off so I’m in school to become a teacher which is miles away from being a para but pays way better.

Wearing: Gigantic black sweats that are the comfiest thing ever, and a black sweat shirt that I painted to read Black Lives Matter...and pink socks.

Favourite author: Probably Jane Austen, or a Bronte, or Elizabeth Gaskell any 19th century female author who had brains to spare and enough wit to tell society to go fuck it self, politely.

Favourite instrument: I used to play the flute and they’re just pretty so I like them...I do not like violins...they’re screechy no matter how hard anyone tries to make them otherwise.  But really I don’t have one, although experimental instruments are fun.

Aesthetic: One I like or one I am?  My home is all pink and white and roses, very Cottagecore (although I try to stay away from that term because it’s not problematic) as to what I wear, I’m trying to create a kind of grown up grunge look.  I was alive for the first grunge wave and it never left me, plus it’s super cozy.

Favourite song:  How about a favorite composer?  I like Satie.

Favourite animal noise: I like that chattering cats do when they see a bird or rodent and want to get it but can’t, it’s very cute.  I also like it when rabbits get mad and do that THUMP thing.  Basically I like to watch videos of slightly frustrated animals.  Ooooh and pigs snorting...so content...so much joy.

Random fact:  Before becoming a vegan I raised and sold sheep for slaughter... I know what I’m at when I say I’m a vegan because I’ve been on the flip side and I don’t like who I was back then.  Also I just watched The Lizzie Bennet Diaries 8 years late and loved them...super cute.

How each character (in Green Lightning) plays Zoo Tycoon

Izuku: puts in as many side attractions as possible, and uses mods to add more fun decorations and cool animals

Shinsou: cats. everywhere. he only makes exhibits featuring cats. that’s it

Natsuki: actually maintains a zoo properly. keeps the animals as happy as possible at all times.

Hatsume: gets as many guests into the park as possible and then blocks off the entry way so none of them can leave.

Sora: MARINE ANIMALS, FUCK YEAH!!!

2. Your newest OC?

I made an OC based on the whole ‘owo what is this?’ meme since my sis and I do that a lot bc it’s fun and it makes us laugh. Imagine a girl with multiple cute clips in her hair, a kitty eared hoodie with pompoms on the strings, those cute chibi keychains from the early 2000s hooked to her pockets, with flowy hair, big eyes, and freckles. She was named Delilah cause I was acting out the concept and said ‘Delilah’ offhandedly and my sis said ‘That’s it! She’s named Delilah, no take backs.’ so she is that and I love her.

3. Favorite OC?

Kai would be my fave OC, I’ve had him since the beginning and I love him with my whole heart. He’s an Ofan, Japanese, with a scar across his nose and one on the side of his neck, black hair, jade green eyes, black fox ears, and is a bleeding heart. He’s the kind that will go out of his way to make sure others are okay. He became king at the age of about 7 and it scared him so bad, that when his brother was found and took the throne, Kai begged to be unable to receive the throne. His brother Andre made it so and Kai ran off to become an informational spy, even was on a pirate ship for a number of years. Overall a wonderful guy, with a terrible beginning at life, working hard to help anyone he can.

4. Any Villain OCs?

I’m bad at making villains. But the one OC that has remained a villain and always will is Grimm. He was a villain to Tyler my vampire OC. Grimm came into the scene flat out tried to kill Tyler’s friend/son Alex (who’s a child!) and by their discussion Grimm had obviously tried to kill Tyler multiple times in the past for the throne, along with attacking villages. So yes, I’ve never had an OC be that much of a villain, except Grimm and boy for only one short story he made his mark.

6. Describe your character creation process.

*takes out pencil. Draws face, draws eyes, draws unique hair, makes them smile. Me smiling sweetly, face drops* OH GREAT!

Yes, my entire process is “I will draw a character. Huh I like this design. Okay personality. Alright let’s see if they need their own story. Viola! They are done!” It’s the reason I have so many OCs, but I love them all. XD

7. Fave OC ship?

Probably Kai and Emily. They are the definition of a healthy relationship and what being so sweet it can rot your teeth is. Their ideal date? Working in the garden together, before going to a stream to talk and splash in the water. I just *clenches fist* they are just so pure.

10. Favorite OC design?

I’d have to say my Nymph. He refuses to be named, so I call him ‘My Nymph’. You know those pressed flowers people were using with modge podge to make temporary tattoos? Alright imagine that all down his arm, shirtless, bright eyes, freckles, curly hair, slightly pointed ears, rectangular torso, and a face that is square at the chin, but youthful. I drew him lately cause my sketches of him were old and boy howdy do I love his design!

15. An OC that’s difficult to write/rp/draw?

Which one? XD Okay because I started writing at 9 my method of writing is old ff.net pretty much. I can already see the people having flashbacks to Sasuke chatting with the author, as Naruto stutters ‘B-baka’. XD So if I boiled it down I’d have to say Orenji. Because with my main OCs I know them very well and can notice when they’re off. But, Orenji has been added to the main cast recently, so I can never get a grip on his actual personality? If that makes sense. He’s an Ofan, has orange hair, calico cat ears, vitiligo, and is warm but sharp tongued. He’s the kind where if you’re having a bad day he’ll give you something that will help. But if you’re being mean, he’ll take you down a peg. Other than that his personality seems to jump around so eh *shrugs* I’m working on it.

16. Your tallest and shortest OCs?

I’d have to say Dhir as the tallest, he’s a naga and even in human standards is a bit taller. He is Indian, with long black hair, dark skin, and golden scales with some of the scales on his cheeks. Shortest would have to be Alex. As all my other OCs grow up but he’s immortally in a 7-10yr old body. He’s a gentle sweetheart with crow wings, wavy blond hair, freckles, grey eyes, and glasses.
