Incredible morning out picking Blueberries and Strawberries. I really wanted to do it this morning so I could make salsa for all weekend. Everybody was so on board, jumped right in the truck, all smiles. There was absolutely no complaining, fighting, whining, dragging feet through the dirt or pouting about the heat! Not once did I hear, "this is terrible" or "I hate this!" Nobody even plopped his butt down in the dirt in silent protest. Attack of the bee... In case we didn't already know... which brother is better is more offensive than defensive. . So we found a bee's nest in my front bunches, by way of pruning. They chased me into the house, several made it inside. One was hiding in my clothes and got me on the back of the leg. . To which Wyatt shouts, "They're EVERYWHERE!" . CASH = Mad dash grabs all his possessions in reaching range and barricades himself in his bedroom. . Good Morning Sunday! Update on our compost bin: . . Did you know there are 3 ways to use compost: 1- As an amendment to add in to your soil 2 - As a moisture holding mulch 3 - To make a Compost Tea to fertilize grass . . We mostly use our #compost for 1, a fertilizer amendment to my plants. Specifically my garden. So all year I gear our compost to be a recipe high in potassium and calcium. Why? Bc of what I intend to use it for. . . You can compost so many things including coffee grounds, wood ash and more, BUT those things will change the properties of your #blackgold . . I'm getting ready to put our tomato seedlings in the garden today and they thrive on potassium. So I tailored our compost to be the best food possible for them to succeed. How? We fill it with banana peels! .
