Phillip Jackson at HuffPost:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) introduced a bill Wednesday that would give federal and state officials more power to hold police departments accused of bad behavior to account. The Enhancing Oversight to End Discrimination in Policing Act, led by Warren and in the House by Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-Wash.), would strengthen the power of state attorneys general to launch investigations into police departments involved in civil rights violations if the Justice Department fails to act on them. The bill would also task the Justice Department with looking beyond “traditional law enforcement mechanisms” when providing reforms to selective police departments such as mental health support, civilian oversight bodies, and community-based restorative justice programs, according to Warren’s office.
Warren had introduced a version of the bill in 2020. This newest version of the measure would also revitalize the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, granting an increase in funding to pursue civil rights investigations into police departments and other government offices accused of discriminatory practices. It would increase funding for the civil rights division to $445 million per year over a 10-year period. (For scale, the 2023 budget for the division was $189.9 million.)
Warren first introduced her bill following the death of George Floyd in 2020. That earlier draft also called for Attorney General Merrick Garland to rescind a 2017 memorandum from his predecessor, Trump-era Attorney General Jeff Sessions, that limited the DOJ’s ability to initiate consent decrees on police departments — a key way of stopping bad behavior. (Garland rescinded that memorandum in April of 2021.)
Nine senators co-sponsored the bill: Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii). Several civil rights organizations are backing Warren’s new bill, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the National Urban League and others.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and 9 other co-sponsors in the Senate are supporting the Enhancing Oversight to End Discrimination in Policing Act to strengthen police accountability. Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-WA) is pushing this in the House.

This season of hermitcraft is for the plurals!! Everyone is plural this season. Everyone got that multiplicity rizz
Multiple Grian's who are all extremely different from each other, are addressed and treated as seperate entities sharing a body, and even come with skin changes when they switch out? Check
Mumbo, (according to Grian I believe?) possibly having an alter who like runs a store for him??? That turns into a money laundering scheme because of snails? Check
Characters doing things and not remembering them??? Like stealing ores without knowing it or not remembering something their alter "ego" did?? Check (or... possibly check. for the ores. "Check ???")
Other hermits literally referencing DID/OSDD (although often incorrectly calling it multiple personalities which... isn't accurate but most people don't know that so I'll give them the benefit of the double) and diagnosing each other with it??? YES
I don't watch every single episode from every POV I just kind of pick and choose and casually graze on it but I've gotten so much plural energy just from what I've seen and fandom discussion/clips. Wild. What is going ON this is the sanders sides of hermitcraft

#15 Bears Take Care of Oregon
Chelsea Spencer Earns Win No. 100 As Cal Head Coach
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 15 California softball team hit five home runs en route to an 11-5 win over Oregon in both teams' Pac-12 opener at Jane Sanders Stadium. It was the Ducks' first home loss of the season and the Bears' 16th road win.
Chelsea Spencer earned her 100th career win as head coach for the Golden Bears (21-2, 1-0 Pac-12) and Elon Butler had a career best 6 RBI in the victory, Cal's fifth win in a row.
The Ducks got on the board first when Ariel Carlson hit a two-out, solo home run off of Cal starter Randi Roelling. Cal had answered in all but one inning after the opposing team scored this season, but the Bears went down in order in the second frame against Oregon's Stevie Hansen.
After Roelling had a quick 1-2-3 inning in the second, the Bears did have the answer in the third inning. Kyndal Todd and Alyssa Herrera went back-to-back with solo home runs, making it 2-1 Cal.
The home run parade continued in the fourth as the Golden Bears went back-to-back again with a Butler 2-run laser and a Tianna Bell solo shot to give Cal a 5-1 advantage. Butler hit her ninth of the year the next time she came to the plate, a 3-run blast to right center and it was 8-1 heading to the home fifth.
Cal added three runs on three hits in the seventh and Haylei Archer got the final three outs in relief of Roelling to secure the victory over the Ducks (12-9, 0-1 Pac 12). Cal's five home runs were the most in a game so far this season.

A group of senators said Tuesday that under U.S. law, the Biden administration must cut off American military assistance to Israel unless the Netanyahu government immediately stops impeding aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip, where children are dying of starvation after months of incessant Israeli bombing and attacks on humanitarian convoys.
"The severe humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza is nearly unprecedented in modern history," the eight senators—led by Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.)—wrote in a letter to U.S. President Joe Biden. "Your administration has repeatedly stated, and the United Nations and numerous aid organizations have confirmed, that Israel's restrictions on humanitarian access, both at the border and within Gaza, are one of the primary causes of this humanitarian catastrophe."
The senators argued that the Israeli government's systematic obstruction of aid deliveries violates U.S. law, pointing specifically to Section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. The law states that "no assistance shall be furnished... to any country when it is made known to the president that the government of such country prohibits or otherwise restricts, directly or indirectly, the transport or delivery of United States humanitarian assistance."
Biden administration officials have admitted that Israel is impeding aid deliveries to desperate Gazans. But when asked last week whether Israel's actions amount to a "breach" of the Foreign Assistance Act, U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said he would "have to go back and look at the language of that text."
"It's not something that I've spent a lot of time looking at," he added.

3 - What Is This Feeling? (So Sudden and New?)
Prodigal Sons and Daughters Alike
Roman and Janus had easily agreed to continue their self-led tour without Remus when it became clear he was antsy to check out his section of the school. While Janus and Roman had slightly different interests, the performing art wing had a large blend of different classes, meaning they’d likely be seeing a lot of each other.
Chapter title is still obvious at this point in the story, from Wicked. I think I dragged out the first day a bit too long but it's okay! You made it!
Roman and Janus had easily agreed to continue their self-led tour without Remus when it became clear he was antsy to check out his section of the school. While Janus and Roman had slightly different interests, the performing art wing had a large blend of different classes, meaning they’d likely be seeing a lot of each other.
As they worked together to find their classes, Janus’ mom and Roman’s father had the chance to talk about whatever they pleased. The boys wouldn’t have even noticed this fact as they directed each other around, but they realized after a moment that this interaction would give them as much time as they pleased to wander.
(They agreed on that particular observation silently and cheekily, grinning at each other as they rushed off to the closest classroom to them, their parents absentmindedly following along.)
It was such a big school! At least five times bigger than the boring public high school he would have previously been stuck in. Unlike that place, Roman felt he could wander the halls of Sanders Academy for days without getting bored!
The two students decided to take a quick detour to the section of ore classes. It was a little surprising that none of those teachers had shown up for orientation, but that meant they didn’t waste too much time there before moving on.
After that, it was straight to the auditorium and its surrounding classrooms. “There are a number of teachers hosting classroom- events? I guess?” Roman noted from a paper he pulled out of his labeled folder. “I can’t tell from the description exactly what that means, but a lot of these are teachers we have. We could start there?”
“Well, the auditorium is right here. It wouldn’t surprise me if the bigger events were happening in there. We could start with that and then work our way around?” Janus suggested.
“Sounds like a plan! Let’s go!” Roman and Janus both rushed through the doors, slowing down only because of insistence from their (fondly) exasperated parents.
They were by far not the only students with the same idea, as the auditorium seats were quickly beginning to fill up. Luckily, there was still penty of room for Janus, Roman, and their parents in the third row, right at the end.
Janus pointed out he was grateful to not have to step over other freshmen just to sit down, and Roman couldn’t help but agree with a small laugh.
An announcement a few minutes later told them they were just in time for the first presentation, a group dance from some of the upcoming seniors. Apparently, it was their final project last year, and they had competed with the routine over the summer.
It was going to take an unfortunate amount of restraint on Roman’s part to not rush to the stage and copy their moves.
Janus rolled his eyes when Roman shared that with him. “I can’t say I agree, but your enthusiasm is- admirable, I suppose. Causing a scene would definitely get you some attention from upperclassmen and teachers alike, if that is what you are looking for.
Roman flushed, just a touch embarrassed. “I wasn’t actually being serious. I’m just… excited, alright?”
“And, I’m just teasing. Alright?” Roman rolled his eyes. “Yeah, sure, alright.”
Just as they directed their attention to the stage, the performance began. It was a smaller group than Roman expected, but it was the perfect size for the upbeat, yet personal song. It wasn’t a solo piece, every member played their part, but they each had a distinguishable moment, and then combined for the choruses.
It was magical.
And, when it was done, and the dancers settled with bright grins on their faces, Roman’s applause echoed loudly over everyone else’s. Or at least, it seemed so to Janus, who plugged one of his ears and rolled his eyes exasperatedly.
Roman was nearly bouncing up and down in excited stims as the performers came offstage to talk to the kids that had gathered for the show.
“Is it too self-centered to be proud of enthralling someone so deeply by my incredible performance?” Roman blinked up at the dancer that had addressed him directly with a teasing smile. Another picked up on his sarcasm and rushed over, throwing an arm around their shoulder.
”Your performance? So boastful, we can’t be encouraging this behavior in the babies! They’ll absorb it and all turn out like you!” Roman giggled a little, staring up (seriously, these seniors were tall) at the two in front of him. They seemed close.
“Whatever, anyway, nice to meet ya pipsqueaks. This your track?” The first one asked, tipping an imaginary hat and bowing to him.
“Uh, y-yeah! I’m also doing dance!! And this is my friend Janus, he’s in the performing arts track,” he replied enthusiastically, making the second dancer looked like they wanted to pinch his cheeks. “I can speak form myself, but thank you Roman. It’s nice to meet you,” Janus added.
“You’re cute… not in the patronizing adult-y way but- sweet. It’s nice to see such eager kids. I’ll be looking forward to working with you in the future- uh… Roman! And, I’ll hope to see you around in the future, Janus! Nice” the first person proclaimed, patting themself on the back for their short-term memory skills.
“Yeah, I’m looking forward to it, too, thank you! Uhm… what are your names? Can’t promise I’ll remember them in a week, but I’ll try!” The second person chuckled. “Same, man. The name’s Ryker, and this is Nolan. Welp, we’re doing a few more of these little performances throughout the day, so if you get bored and need some proper entertainment, feel free to come back! We’ll see you around!”
Roman gave them an excited wave as the two joined the rest of their fellow performers back onstage.
“Making more friends already? I hope you don’t get bored of me too quickly, if this is what you’re always like,” Janus teased.
“I could never! You’re too cool for that. Besides, they’re like- adults. If I spent all my time trying to be friends with them and just being totally intimidated, I’d exhaust myself.”
“Oh, so you’re saying I’m simpler? I suppose being an easy friend is not necessarily an insult,” Janus continued with a smirk, as Roman whacked him lightly on the arm. “Terrible! You are terrible, I don’t know how I’m gonna put up with you,” he joked, laughing along with Janus.
“Alright, you two, you can continue teasing each other another time. What would you like to do next?” The pair perked up as Janus’ mom offered her firm suggestion to keep moving so that they wouldn’t run out of time. Immediately, they pulled out their folders and decided the best route to take so that they could visit every classroom they needed to, and a few they wanted to as well.
As the two of them ventured off together, comparing notes and combining schedules, their parents looked on with proud smiles. If this was how the rest of their schooling was going to go, any sense of worry they may have felt about leaving the boys here by themselves evaporated as fast as it had formed.
If Roman and Janus were already this close, were already looking out for each other and joking with each other and bonding- yeah, they were going to be just fine.
…
Eventually (and it was a very long eventually), the boys decided to meet up to grab something to eat before their parents had to leave. They only had an hour or so left, so it was the perfect opportunity to get their enthusiastic boys from dragging them around any further, and perhaps getting an actual goodbye from them before they left them to their devices for a whole semester.
Remus practically barelled into his brother when he spotted him, and the twins and Janus spent the majority of dinner excitedly reporting the most memorable parts of their self-led tours of the school.
Oh, and eating something too, of course. But there was nothing particularly exciting about dinner, other than the fact it wasn’t the normal, inedible school food.
“Well, boys,” The twins’ dad stood with a comically dad-like sigh, “I believe it’s time we started the drive home. Janus, it was very nice meeting you. I’m sure you boys are going to be great. Just remember to be careful, and to call your mothers. They’ll want to hear from you.”
“Of course, Pops, we won’t forget!” Roman chirped, running over to give him a hug. Out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed Janus doing the same with his mom.
“Yeah, yeah, we’ll stay out of trouble. And I promise to remember to text back at least half of the times you reach out to me!” Remus added, barelling into the two of them.
“I suppose that is mildly reassuring,” Their Pops responded dryly. “Alright, well, we love you boys very much. Have fun, I know this is something you’ve wanted for a long time, so make the most of it!”
“We will,” they promised in unison, watching as the three parents walked off and out the doors.
“I’m gonna miss them,” Remus said, perhaps the quietest he’d been all day.
“Yeah,” Roman agreed, “but we’ve all got each other. Now, should we go get to know the rest of our roommates?”
The other two nodded, and together, they walked back to their dorm, basking in the comfortable silence brought on by the bittersweet moment they’d just left.
Janus was the first to fish his keys out of his pocket, and they were back. Although, there were a few noticeable differences from the last time they were in there, the biggest being the two boys sitting on the couches in the living room and talking about something they couldn’t overhear just yet.
Patton perked up when he noticed the door closing, and he nudged the other boy to get his attention. “Hey Remus! And, you must be… Roman and Janus?” Patton waved from where he was sitting on one of the couches, jumping up from his seat to greet them. “I ran into Remus earlier today, but it’s nice to meet you two!”
“Good to see you’re still a ray of sunshine, Pat,” Remus noted with a grin. “And… you’re- Logan? Or Virgil?”
The person on the couch gave a quick nod, standing as well to join the growing group. “I am Logan. It is nice to meet you. Unfortunately, I have not seen Virgil. I was hoping he would arrive now, or sometime soon.”
“Huh, maybe he just got caught up talking to his parents or something. We’ll probably see him later. Anyway, how was your first day? I know there were a lot of activities to choose from, but I dunno what was going on in the music wing!” Roman asked.
“I- well, I did not participate in many of the self-led activities. In fact, I spent much of the time collecting some of my syllabuses early and determining the fastest routes to my classes in my schedule. What about you?”
Remus scoffed. “Jeez, you don’t have to be so nerdy. I mean, yeah, this is school, but it’s not meant to be so- constricting. Like, it’s not public school.”
“I am aware of the distinction. Although, I am of the firm belief education should be best suited to a student’s needs and should not be centralized. The public school system is an excellent example of the opposite of an effective education, but so is assuming that being ambitious labels a ‘tryhard’ or a ‘nerd.’”
“Huh, I guess I never thought of it like that. I agree, though now I am tempted to use tryhard as a silly nickname for you.”
“I cannot tell if you are serious, but please do not.” Remus laughed at that. “Nah, just messin’ with ya. I’ll find better nicknames for you soon, just you wait!”
“Don’t worry about him,” Roman reassured, whacking his brother gently on the back of the head. “He talks all big, but he’s a softie. Any nicknames he or I use are out of the kindness of our hearts and absolutely, definitely not for teasing purposes.”
“I thougth you said sarcasm was my thing,” Janus teased, sparking a whole new conversation.
The five of them inevitably spent a while talking, getting to know each other and sharing their favorite childhood stories. After all, they were going to spend the rest of the year living together, there was a lot to learn so they could be best friends!
Just as Logan was about to suggest turning in for the night and talking more in the morning, the flow of conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Dr. Picani,” Logan noted as he opened the door, making the four boys in the living room perk up even more, “to what do we owe the surprise visit? I should hope we’re not in trouble for anything after only being here for a day.” Emile shook his head with a smile. “No, nothing like that, thank goodness. I just wanted to let you know that your sixth roommate is going to be a bit later to move in. I don’t have any details, but he’s not available to move in until the night before school officially starts, the staff and I figured you should know so you weren’t left wondering about an empty room.”
Logan nodded. “Well, thank you for letting us know. It is appreciated.”
“I trust you five will be available to help him move in and make him feel welcome when he does arrive, yes?”
“Of course!” Patton piped in, sliding in next to Logan. “I can even give him a tour before classes start if he needs it!”
“That sounds like a great idea!” Dr. Picani agreed. “We’ll have to see if he’ll be up for a tour so early in the morning, but you can definitely ask! I’m sure I’ll see you boys around this week, so if you have any other questions, just let me know!”
A chorus of “thank you”s followed him out the door that Patton swung shut behind him. “That’s kind of a bummer for Virgil,” Patton frowned sympathetically. “I hope he’s still excited for school, even though he’s missing the fun freshman stuff.”
“I wonder why he’s moving in so late. Do you think something happened to him?” Remus questioned.
Roman shrugged. “He could just live really far away, or have a busy summer schedule. God knows I can relate to that.”
“I will admit I am curious as well, but his personal problems are not mine to make guesses on,” Logan concluded. “Anyway, I believe I will be heading to bed now. There may not be a strict class schedule tomorrow, but some good sleep would benefit everyone.”
The others agreed, some more begrudgingly than others, but they all bid their goodnights and wandered off to their own rooms. Some spent more time organizing their rooms and making them a lot more livable, while others did actually retire early like they promised.
Initially, Roman worried he wouldn’t be getting any sleep that night, but the comfort he felt with his brother right next door, and his three new friends (with a fourth on the way) sleeping soundly just feet from him as well, he was able to get some rest.

THE SIDES INTRODUCTION!
Divider credit: BenKeiBear and Anlain-Aishang
Note: my sides used to have older names, based off of how I used to hoard names. I used to hoard only names that started with "M"s, so I thought it'd be fun to give all my sides "M" names. I changed them so they could be different and because I do not hoard only "M" names anymore, but you might still see their old names floating around. My sides also use different pronouns, because I use many, many pronouns.
The name "Undead Sides" is a play on "Sanders Sides". However, I don't want to reveal my last name, so instead I used my common username on most socials: IncrediblyUndead.
Undercut are my sides, some information on their relationships, and other silly facts.
(Through out this, I will be referring to myself in 3rd person & using random neopronouns)
EGOTISM — Memphis, he/she
[Plain text: egotism in all caps in pink]
Logo: a hand-held mirror. It's a charm on Memphis' phone.
Memphis represents Revenge's egotism, confidence, (maybe unhealthy amounts of) self-love, and selfishness. She only cares about himself (& Revy) and is willing to do anything to get what Revenge deserves— whether that be through normal conversation or manipulation (... it's usually manipulation). He has a very black and white way of thinking, viewing Revenge and herself as better than those around them, along with thinking they can do no bad or make mistakes.
(Imagine a fusion of Roman and Janus, but if they were much more extreme in their self-confidence and selfishness, & you've got yourself a Memphis)
IMPULSE — Maddox (Madds), it/its
[Plain text: impulse in all caps in red]
Logo: an explosion (similar to the 💥 emoji), placed on both sides of its combat boots.
Maddox represents Revy's impulsivity, controlling a lot of xyr anger issues and violent thoughts. It makes quick judgements, before hearing the full story, and will hold grudges til the ends of the earth. It also represents a lot of Revenge’s self-perseverance, thinking that its actions are helping protect ore. Despite its aggressive and unsympathetic nature, Madds cares heavily for those it finds pleasant (or "not as annoying as everyone else", as it puts it) and will jump in harms way to protect them.
PARANOIA — Payne, xe/xyr/xyrs
[Plain text: paranoia in all caps in orange]
(Used to be: Mercury/Mercs) (also pretend thats yellow and not orange)
Logo: a weird wiggly swirl on xyrs choker.
Payne represents Revenge's paranoia, fear, and overall distrust of others. Xe controls a lot of Revy’s schizophrenic symptoms and intrusive thoughts, but does NOT represent pups schizophrenia. In a case of “ducking out” (something that is impossible in FMP), Payne’s removal would not get rid of Revy’s schizophrenia, but rather cool down a lot of Revy's fear. Payne has a lot of the same goals as Maddox, wanting to protect Revenge, but rather than wanting to beat the shit out of everything, xe would rather run away to get to safety. Payne also has very black and white thinking. Xe holds people xe finds dear as close as possible, while pushing anyone else as far as possible.
COMPASSION — Finnick, he/him
[Plain text: compassion in all caps in green]
(Used to be: Melvin)
Logo: clasped hands as a patch, over his heart, on his battle jacket.
Finnick represents Revy's compassion and care for everyone and the planet earth, along with xyrs low/no empathy. He tends to be objective, wanting to hear everyone’s side of the story and be fair, even when the situation doesn’t call for it. Despite looking unemotionless and sounding monotone, he is often referred to the “nicest” side out of the bunch. He can be overbearing at times with his care and tends to focus in the solution part of a problem, rather than the emotional part.
CREATIVITY — Wentz, or Xx_w3ntzz_xX, he + any neopronouns
[Plain text: creativity in all caps in light blue]
(Used to be: Medusa)
Logo: N/A, as a perler bead necklace.
Wentz represents Revy’s creativity, (potentional) logic, and love for horror, morbid topics, and sexual topics. Nya controls a lot of Revy’s infodumping and hyperfixations and love for research. He doesn’t recognise how his actions or interests can affect others, being loud and annoying and overtalking about not-so-acceptable topics, like what decomposing does to the human body or fetishes; though, nya doesn’t mean any harm. Woof tends to be sensitive to rejection, or what woof assumes to be rejection.
FATIGUE — Nyx, ey/em/eir
[Plain text: fatigue in all caps in purple]
(Used to be: Maven, they/them)
Logo: multiple Zs (similar to the 💤 emoji) as a pin on eirs beanie.
Nyx represents Revenge's fatigue and apathy, controlling a lot of xyr executive dysfunction and general tiredness, however, Nyx does NOT represent Revy's CFS/ME (in the same way Payne does not represent schizophrenia). Nyx tends to be disinterested in everything around em, more focused on emself. Opposite of Memphis though, who’s focused on herself due to viewing himself as inherently Better, Nyx is focused on emself because ey have no energy to care for other people.
My sides are all based on the colour of the rainbow, just like the Sanders Sides are. I do not have an indigo side (which is plot relevant in Flush My Psyche) and I/my self-inserts am the "orange" one.
Some tidbits:
All the sides, minus for Nyx, use canes that are decorated to fit themselves. Memphis' is focused on design and how it looks, rather than usability; Maddox's is falling apart, due to how often it hits things with it; Wentz's cane is decorated in stickers and charms; Finnick's cane has spikes near the bottom and a few political stickers; and Payne's cane has the occassional band sticker.
Nyx uses a wheelchair and occassionally crutches.
The concept of "dark sides" and "light sides" do not exist, as I never viewed any part of me as inherently evil or bad and wasn't raised catholic. (In fact, I'm actually an atheistic satanist so... there would be no way.)
Maddox and Payne could be viewed as on other sides of the same spectrum, both wanting to protect Revenge, but having different ideas on how to do that. They could also represent Fight or Flight: Maddox being fight, Payne being flight.
Maddox and Payne also have similar goals in mind: protect Revenge, any means necessary. Madds and Payne get along better than any of the sides.
Madds and Finnick tend to butt heads a lot— Madds wants to spring into action (usually, a violent action), while Finnick would rather wait until all facts and feelings are known and then make a judgement about action. They argue a lot about what's the best option in any scenario.
(Despite arguing, they will still drop everything for each other, even if they won't admit that outloud. Or know it, themselves.)
Despite Memphis', Nyx's, and Madd's standoffish behavior, the other sides still treat them with respect and care— often to their dislike (or indifference, in Nyx's case).
Nyx falls asleep anywhere and everywhere. It is no surprise to see the sides standing around em, like a shield, as ey sleep in public.
Wentz likes to type, and speak, in "scene speak". How co speaks in it is unknown. But co does it!
Wentz loves to gift people things! ... usually they're realistic and detailed paintings of Their Death. (In FMP, Wentz paints one of these gifts for c!Thomas... He doesn't appreciate it much.)
Wentz is an early 2000s scenester, Payne is a stereotypical myspace emo, and Finnick is a cripplepunk.
(They are these things because I am a cripplepunk scenemo)
Nyx dresses is comfy clothes and usually with lots and lots of layers, as ey has a hard time regulating eir body tempature. Plus, since ey is sleeping everywhere, it's important ey feels comfortable enough to sleep.
Memphis wears ""skimpy"" clothing, often with crop-tops and even smaller miniskirts. Her signature outfit is a tight, bright pink miniskirt, bright pink bra, a neon pink fluffy oversized coat, and fluffy pink knee-high platforms. He loves to go all out and be the center of attention.
Madds wears, like, the "mean, emo big brother" in any disney movie outfits. It especially enjoys wearing shorts that reaches its knees and a hoodie, because there is something desperately wrong with it. (Joke)
Memphis is the tallest side, Wentz is the shortest.
Wentz was the most recent side created! The other sides were made back in middle school or my freshman year of high school, while Wentz was made late 2019 - early 2020.
The sides used to have different traits, before I decided on their current ones:
Anxiety -> Delusion -> Paranoia
Morality -> Compassion
Logic -> Fatigue
Confidence -> Egotism
Violent Thoughts -> Impulse
Payne, Finnick, & Nyx used to be my only sides as I was trying to match the sides' traits in Sanders Sides, but later realised they're my sides and can be whatever I want.
None of my sides represent any of my disabilities or neurodivergencies, because I am uncomfortable with the concept of them "ducking out" & therefore removing my symptoms and traits. (Which is why Payne and Nyx do not represent schizophrenia or CFS/ME, respectively, but rather "control" them— in the same way Remus does not represent Intrusive Thoughts, but Creativity, and simply controls c!Thomas' intrusive thoughts)
(Using Remus is a bad example, as his character jumps around a lot.)

Nov 20, 2024
The Senate today is set to vote on a measure that, if passed, would block $20 billion worth of arms sales to the state of Israel.
The Senate vote is the first of its kind regarding weapons to Israel, according to advocates supporting the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval, which were introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in September.
The JRDs are co-sponsored by Sens. Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii). Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) have subsequently endorsed them.
“Clearly what is happening in Gaza today is unspeakable, but what makes it even more painful is that much of this has been done with U.S. weapons and American taxpayer dollars,” Sanders said in a Nov. 19 press conference held with Merkley, Welch, and Van Hollen ahead of the vote.
Sanders said the U.S. could not stand by while Israel violated human rights with American made weapons including “the loss of 43,000 and rising Palestinians, many of whom are women and children and non-combatants, not at all connected to Hamas,” and “over 100,000 children and innocent bystanders who have been severely injured, including amputation.” Welch added that the Leahy Law, which makes the sale of such weapons to foreign forces that violate human rights illegal, demands they block the sale.

Rowaida Abdelaziz at HuffPost:
A group of Democratic senators led by Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) sent a letter Tuesday night to the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to shut down four private detention centers. The letter, first reviewed by HuffPost and signed by Sens. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), targets facilities in New Mexico, California, Louisiana and Virginia. All of the facilities have faced serious complaints over treatment of detainees. Contracts for two of those facilities are up for renewal this week.
“We do not support a system that detains people in inhumane conditions that result in long-term medical issues, psychological trauma, and sometimes death. We urge that these facilities be shut down, in a step towards building an immigration system that welcomes and respects migrants,” read the letter. The letter, addressed to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Patrick Lechleitner, the acting director of ICE, also demands immigration officials to hand over a list of all public and private ICE detention facilities as well as a timeline for ending contracts at those four facilities. “After reports of inhumane conditions, including sleep deprivation, dirty drinking water, and psychological trauma, independent watchdogs and other experts have recommended that the Biden administration close the worst of these facilities,” Warren said. “This would be a meaningful step toward ending the federal government’s reliance on private detention centers.”
10 Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), sent a letter calling for the closing of the inhumane ICE detention centers. It's also why ICE should be abolished.

The Beach Luxury Club @ Domina Coral Bay - Sharm: Halloween con Irina Kant e show sorprendenti...
Cos'è The Beach Luxury Club
The Beach Luxury Club è un concept di beach club con intrattenimento, pensato per tutti coloro che cercano l'esclusività e il divertimento. Prende vita tutto l'anno a Sharm El Sheikh presso Domina Coral Bay e dalla primavera all'autunno in Sicilia, a Santa Flavia (Palermo) presso Domina Zagarella. 33 Senate Democrats join Republicans to block DC crime bill | The Hill
Senators on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to block the District of Columbia’s updated criminal code from becoming law, marking the first time in more than three decades that a D.C.-passed bill has been nixed by Congress and the White House.
The Senate advanced the resolution, 81-14, with 33 Democrats voting alongside every Republican and Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.).
Senate Democrats of all stripes joined with the GOP, including some of the party’s leadership. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) both backed the resolution.
Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.), the No. 2 Democrat in the upper chamber, however, split with Schumer to vote “no.”
Unsurprisingly, the most vulnerable Senate Democrats up for reelection in 2024, headlined by Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Jon Tester (Mont.) and Sherrod Brown (Ohio), all supported the resolution.
Fourteen senators who caucus with the Democrats voted against the measure: Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Durbin.
Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) voted present. Sens. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Tom Carper (D-Del.) and James Risch (R-Idaho) were absent.
The Senate Democrats had political cover to vote “yes” after President Biden told them last week he would not veto the resolution if it reached his desk — reversing a statement of administration policy backing Washington, D.C., home rule prior to the House vote last month.
The House passed the resolution to block the crime bill on a 250 to 173 vote, with 31 Democrats voting with all Republicans.
The D.C. City Council passed its crime bill unanimously in January and overrode a veto by Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) in February, 12-1.
It has been the subject of intense criticism from Republicans and some Democrats for some provisions, such as the lower penalties for a number of violent crimes, including robberies and carjackings.
“Carjackings and car thefts have become a daily routine. Homicides are racking up at a rate of four per week,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said during a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday. “This is our capital city. But local politicians have let its streets become a danger and an embarrassment.”
In his tweet last week announcing his decision, Biden specifically mentioned sentences for carjackings as a reason. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, there have been 101 carjackings across the District this year alone, roughly the same as the 106 reported by this point last year. Half have involved juveniles. Twenty-two of this calendar year’s cases have been closed, and 14 people have been arrested on related charges.
“I just think it needs more work,” Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) told reporters of the D.C. bill, citing the mayor’s veto of the bill earlier this year.
But the 180-degree turn by the administration has infuriated some House Democrats who have complained that the White House put them in a bad spot.
It also handed House Republicans a gift on the messaging side, as the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched an ad campaign against 15 Democrats who voted against doing away with the crime bill.
“Forget safe streets and neighborhoods — House Democrats remain more concerned with promoting policies that appease violent criminals,” Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), the NRCC’s chairman, said in a statement. “This is just a preview of how these extremist House Democrats will be held accountable for coddling criminals all cycle long.”
The crime bill has also been criticized for other reasons, including that it would increase the number of jury trials for misdemeanor offenses. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine.) who voted for the resolution blocking the bill, told The Hill earlier in the week that there’s not “enough jurors in the world to do that.”
D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson on Monday attempted to withdraw the bill and keep it from being brought up for a vote. However, the Home Rule Act, which governs the District, does not allow for the withdrawal of legislation.
A number of Senate Democrats, however, stood by the District and opposed the resolution. Cardin told reporters earlier in the week that the matter is “a D.C. issue.”
“The Senate shouldn’t be voting on that,” Cardin said. “To me, it’s a fundamental issue of home rule.”
So-called Progressives at it again. This is the same action that's keeping San Francisco filled with crime; Socialists deliberately letting crime go wild to hurt Democrats. It's not just random juveniles committing these carjackings. It's just one of the easiest crimes to pull. Everyone should remember the ones who voted against protecting citizens and all of them, Booker and Dick Durbin should be challenged for their seats. Booker plays the Righteous Brother well but he's not with Dems and Durbin tried to pull a sleazy move months ago, by throwing Senator Fienstein under the bus, causing the drama on the judicial committee. I'm guessing the D.C. Council are a bunch who got in on a sympathetic wave post George Floyd. To vote against the Mayor is huge red flag.

The Treasury Department is holding up the implementation of a law to catch crypto tax evaders, endangering billions of dollars in federal revenue and upsetting members of the president's own party. In order to implement a 2021 law in time for the current tax year, the agency first missed its deadline. After more delays, it might now be almost too late for the tax year 2024. It was anticipated that closing a loophole that may make it simpler for cryptocurrency investors to evade taxes would earn $28 billion over a ten-year period, but falling cryptocurrency values could have changed that estimate. The administration's strategy to force cryptocurrency investors to follow the same standards as everyone else includes the tax regulations. Currently, the Biden administration is being urged to act quickly by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Massachusetts) and three other senators. When President Biden signed them into law in 2021, these new regulations were desperately needed. In a letter to Treasury officials this week, Warren, Bob Casey (D., Pa.), Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), and Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) stated that the urgency has only grown over the previous two years. Given the chance, tax evaders and the cryptocurrency intermediaries ready to assist them will continue to manipulate the system, take advantage of weaknesses, and steal billions of dollars from the U.S. government each year. Don't give them the opportunity. Brokers won't be required to report any information until the administration produces final rules addressing issues like the definition of a broker, according to statements made by the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service in December. After more than seven months, Treasury still hasn't made the initial official move of submitting a proposal, which would start a months- or years-long process before those final rules are completed. According to Treasury spokeswoman Kristin Lynch, the department is working hard to publish these crucial and intricate regulations soon. James Creech, a tax attorney at the San Francisco-based accounting firm Baker Tilly, claimed that we're almost at the stage where the delay is overshadowing the regulations themselves. Given the reporting systems that brokers will need to create and verify, he indicated that 2024 would be an optimistic start date for implementation. The crypto industry campaigned vehemently against the tax regulations when Congress included them in an infrastructure package in 2021. The definition of a crypto broker in the statute, according to some lobbyists, is excessively ambiguous. According to Ji Kim, head of global policy at the lobbying organization Crypto Council for Innovation, a broad definition of broker might result in liability for cryptocurrency businesses that can't comply, like software developers, crypto miners, and wallet providers. A group of legislators, led by Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, tried to change the statute to make the definition more specific, but their efforts failed. Once the regulations are put into place, they will provide the IRS with more details about the profits achieved by cryptocurrency investors and let those investors know that the IRS is aware of their gains. Clear standards may also help the business mature and become more standardized, according to tax lawyer Creech. It will also make tax compliance easier for cryptocurrency investors who wish to meet their commitments. He said it would be beneficial for both the industry and the taxpayer who wants to comply if those who trade cryptocurrency received the same 1099-B form as those who trade in Schwab accounts. A larger lobbying campaign by the crypto business includes the argument over the postponed tax regulation. Crypto companies and the venture capital firms that support them claim that digital currencies like bitcoin and ether, as well as the blockchain technology that powers them, are groundbreaking breakthroughs that should be treated differently from the rest of finance.
They have spent tens of millions of dollars supporting political causes and pleading with Congress to pass unique legislation to support their businesses. The development of cryptocurrency has presented difficulties for tax officials, who initially found it difficult to classify it. According to the IRS, crypto is property rather than currency, thus any earnings from sales are subject to capital gains tax. Regarding enforcement, the IRS has made an effort to break through the concealment that is a key component of cryptocurrencies' appeal. The Biden administration has suggested more modifications to cryptocurrency tax regulations, including prohibitions on so-called wash sales, in which investors sell property, realize a loss, and then promptly acquire it back. These ideas would have raised more than $31 billion, but they haven't made any headway in Congress. Source link
