And now the manufacturer has announced that orders for the legendary model will soon be available in Germany. It will be executed in two versions, but will only be available with a single engine. Under the hood of the Bronco sits Ford's 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with 335 hp and a generous maximum torque of 563 Nm. Of course, the model has all-wheel drive, an off-road chassis and up to seven different driving modes. The 10-speed automatic transmission with torque converter is standard on board. We were able to check how something like this drives in a short test. The European Broncos are offered in two versions, the Outer Banks and the Badlands. The number will be limited. For example, it has special side skirts, 17-inch wheels with 285/70 R17 A/T tires, roof rails, steel underbody protection and permanent four-wheel drive (in the case of the Outer Banks it can be switched on). The Badlands also features Bilstein dampers, a locking front differential and a front anti-roll bar for better off-road mobility. Additionally, the two-speed transfer case is electromechanical (it's electronic on the Outer Banks). The prizes offered by Ford? It starts at 74,500 euros for the Bronco Outer Banks. The Badlands version is 4,000 euros more expensive and therefore starts at 78,500 euros.

Redefine luxury with 10 Latest Car Technologies
10 Latest Car Technologies
In the current scenario, we can see technology being integrated with most of the development processes. And, the automobiles sector is not an exception to it. Customers are expecting much-advanced technology in every new variant being launched. Owing to this increase in demand and rapidly expanding global market, all the car manufacturers have been adopting aggressive strategies to beat the competition. Almost all the global leaders in car manufacturing business are trying to introduce the latest car technology in the upcoming variants.
Technology plays an integral role in making a car appeal to the masses. Every customer is looking for advanced technological features in his/her car to be. The list of such features is endless. However, we have shortlisted 10 latest technological features that one should go for while looking for a new car.
Let us have a look at them.
Inbuilt 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot
The Internet has made such a place in our lives that it is now being considered as one of the essential elements required to survive. Internet connectivity or usage is not limited to smartphones and computers only; it is being intensively used in automobiles as well. 4G LTE and Wi-Fi Hotspot are one of the most anticipated features in modern cars that customers are looking for. Internet connectivity enables drivers to use features like GPS on their smartphones.
2. Cameras for 360-degree vision
This latest car technology is highly in demand these days. Hence, most of the latest cars are equipped with a rear parking camera. This camera is turned on as soon as the driver switches to reverse gear. It helps to have better visibility of the rear and driver does not have to turn around to avoid any collision. In addition to this, the cameras are now fitted on the sides of the car as well. These cameras enable drivers to see everything around the car. These cameras are accompanied by proximity sensors. These sensors send an alert whenever the car is about to hit an object or any vehicle.
3. Automated Trunks
It is observed that people find it difficult to open the trunk when their hands are already occupied. So in order to open the trunk, they have to put everything down and again lift it once the boot is accessible. To avoid this extra effort, some of the car manufacturers offer automated truck that opens up with your hand gesture, if you are holding the smart key. This feature really enhances the usability of the vehicle.
4. Rain or water sensors
Rain sensors help to remove water from car’s windows or front windshield by automatically activating the wipers. These sensors activate the wipers as soon as they detect water on the glass. As a further enhancement, cars are now equipped with sensors that detect dirt and debris as well and auto clean the windows. This automotive technology is again one of the most important features that enhance usability.
5. Air cooled seats
It is actually a challenge to enter your car’s cabin in summers. Everything from the steering wheel to seats become burning hot. Switching on the AC helps to moderate the temperature in the cabin, but fails to cool down the seats. This was a major issue reported by customers. Hence, the manufacturers came up with air cooled seats, to resolve this issue.
6. Use of military grade aluminum
Use of military grade aluminum in cars helps manufacturers to reduce the weight of the car without compromising on its durability. Being lightweight, cars offer better fuel economy and better control. This military-grade aluminum is also used in manufacturing trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.
7. Highly informative instrument cluster
The dashboard of the cars is not only a placeholder for AC vents anymore. It is now very much loaded with infotainment gadgets. The latest advancements in this instrument cluster are:
A. Fully digital touch-screen infotainment system — This system comprises of a 7–9-inch touch-screen LCD display that can be integrated easily with any of the Android and iOS mobile devices. It also facilitates the use of GPS, playing music and also displays the rear and side views captured by the cameras, installed in the car.
B. Multi-Information display — Multi-Information Display (MID) is also an LCD panel that shows several details about the car which are helpful and useful for the driver. It shows details like:
1.Driving mode
2.Which gear the car is in.
3.The distance that can be covered with remaining fuel
4.Fuel level
5.Distance
6. Various alerts related to the seat belt, hand brake, opened doors, etc. and lot more.
8) Auto-manual gear shift
It is a very common feature these days. This technology is highly affordable as compared to fully automatic cars and offers the same ease and comfort. In this technology, the driver has two options to drive — Automatic and manual. It makes use of normal gearbox having an additional layer of intelligence that helps it shift gears. Hence, the auto shift of gears is achieved without implementing a fully automatic gearbox.
9) Surround sound system
The sound system in a car is no more a sideline feature. It is being given great importance these days. Latest new cars are equipped with 8–16 speakers. The giants in sound system industries like Bose, JBL and various others have started manufacturing car speakers. So now you can get the best surround sound and Dolby stereo effect in your car’s cabin.
10) Fuel-efficient hybrid technology
This technology has gained great popularity as it has made it possible to achieve significant fuel efficiency even in bigger engines. Using this technology, the car is powered by the engine and electric motor. The electric motor is powered by the batteries. These batteries are charged with the help of regenerative braking and by the engine. Hence, it is not required to plug in the vehicle to charge the batteries.
Conclusion:
These are some of the latest car technologies that have made driving more of a pleasure. The list is never-ending as manufacturers are introducing a new feature every now and then. This remarkable fusion of digital, electronic and mechanical world is definitely going to surprise us with lot more futuristic advancements.

What is Apple CarPlay, and How Does it Work?
There are numerous advantages to using your smartphone in the car, including the ability to listen to music and use navigation apps. However, it's critical that you do it carefully, as using your phone while driving can cause dangerous distractions.
That's why Apple created CarPlay, which allows you to use your phone's best features while driving safely. Let's take a look at how Apple CarPlay works and how to use it to get the most out of it.
What Is Apple CarPlay?
CarPlay is an Apple standard that allows you to connect your iPhone to your car's infotainment system and see a simplified iOS-like interface. This gives you access to specific apps that you can use in your car. CarPlay makes excellent use of Siri, allowing you to issue orders and listen to music while keeping your eyes on the road.
While most new cars come with some sort of "smart" interface, it's usually a disaster. They're frequently difficult to use, have poor voice assistants, and prevent you from using your phone's apps easily. CarPlay provides a standard interface for iPhone users in any vehicle that supports it.
CarPlay does not replace your manufacturer's standard system; you may switch back to it at any time with a tap. You also can't utilise CarPlay on your phone's display, unlike Android Auto. It can only be used in conjunction with a compatible car or stereo system.
How Does Apple CarPlay Work?
With Apple CarPlay, you can use your iPhone's approved apps with limited functionality. While there are alternative ways to play music from your phone through your car's sound and access your device directly, they each offer their own set of disadvantages.
Notifications from all of your apps may cause you to become distracted while driving. Furthermore, most apps' small screen elements aren't designed for quick interaction while driving.
Instead, CarPlay uses Siri to make it simple to navigate, react to messages, listen to music, and get information. Large icons and voice instructions help make this possible.
How to Get Started With Apple CarPlay?
To have access to CarPlay, you'll need an iPhone 5 or newer running iOS 7.1 or later. Make sure you live in a CarPlay-enabled location. Finally, for CarPlay to work, Siri must be enabled. Make sure Siri & Search is turned on in Settings > Siri & Search.
CarPlay also necessitates the use of a compatible car or head unit. For more information, see the section below.
To use CarPlay, turn on your car and connect your phone to the USB port with a high-quality Lightning connection. The port is normally found under the climate control panel or inside the centre compartment. If you're not sure where it is, see your vehicle's manual.
Wireless CarPlay is also available in some vehicles, but it is not as common. To try connecting in wireless mode, go to Settings > General > CarPlay, then press and hold the voice control button on your steering wheel.
If your infotainment display doesn't open automatically after you connect, press the CarPlay symbol (its location will vary by manufacturer). When you first do this, you'll get a notice telling you that you need to unlock your iPhone. You're done once you accept the prompt on your phone.
Start Riding Safely With Apple CarPlay
Apple CarPlay is simple to use and provides a terrific way to interact with your iPhone while driving. Simply connect in and use driving-friendly apps with simple voice controls if your car allows it. CarPlay will improve as more apps are supported and more useful features are added.

found on music players, computers and most other electronic devices with audio outputs. It can support stereo and/or microphone, depending on the number of separate connector rings on the jack. Some phones offer only a 2.5 mm jack, which is a smaller variety of the same principle. Headphones supplied with mobile phones usually have a mic somewhere along the cable and a remote button that allows for managing calls without using the phone. Some manufacturers opt for placing a 3.5mm audio jack on this remote control instead of directly on the phone itself. The reason for this is that 3.5mm jacks take up quite a lot of internal space; plus, in this way the user gets to keep the remote control/mic functionality while using third-party headphones.

TIPS Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Austin TX: ● Set up a smart system (don’t use twelve 15-inch subwoofers and a pair of tweeters) ● Proper system settings (don’t set input sensitivity by ear. Use the proper starting points on crossovers). ● Actually listen to the system. Use a test disc that has tracks to identify left and right channels, and phase tracks at various bands (low frequency, mid frequency and high frequency as well as full range). ● Try changing the polarity of one side of the vehicle (I always change the right speaker just to be consistent.) and listen to it again. If it is better, leave it. If not, put it back and move on. Do this with the subwoofer too. ● Listen to the system again. This time use music you know pretty well. Find tracks that challenge transition areas (the area where you are crossing over from one speaker, like the sub, to another, like the door speakers. ● JL Audio Listen with and without the subwoofer connected. ● Listen to see if the door speaker can play loud and clear without bottoming out. Try a lower crossover point and listen again. Go as low as you can without issue and then go up a click or two for good measure. ● Then bring in the sub. Blend it in so that it is not overpowering the door speaker. Try raising and lowering the crossover point to see how it changes the sound. If you can change the crossover slope (IE: From 12 dB to 24dB) you might need to go back and do the phase test mentioned earlier since the slope of the crossover will change the phase as well. ● head with music Listen to the system again. Use music you know pretty well again and this time just listen. The trick here is that you should know what it is supposed to sound like…Go to some concerts and consider some diversity in music. A lot of bars have live music which can be good or bad. But when it is bad, at least you know it is bad. When you go back to tune a vehicle (or a room), don’t make it sound bad! Listen at all levels. Low, mid and high volumes. Make sure that at high volumes, the system does not get screechy. It should play loud and clean and effortlessly. ● If the system sounds strained, it will most likely have issues. Those issues can show up in a few ways, one is failures (blown speakers or amplifiers shutting off) and the other is listener fatigue. If your customer is reaching for the volume to turn it down because it is too harsh, they are not going to enjoy their system. If they are reaching to turn it up, you’ve done well…that means that they love the sound and they want even more. ● Don’t be afraid to make changes to your settings to see how they sound. This is how you will gauge if you have dialed everything in right. Just be careful about playing things too loud until you have verified the capabilities of the system. ● Finally, explain to your customer what you have done and why. Listen to the system with the customer using their music. See what they think. Stay engaged with them while they tell you what they like and what they dislike (if anything). Since you have intimate knowledge of the capabilities of the system you will know how to address their concerns should they have any.
COST
Car Audio Jack Installation Service near Austin TX: One thing is that parts will need to be bought and some work will be done on the car. The panel cover will need to be removed in order to access the XM module and the back of the facial or panel. You will need to buy an aux jack, wires, soldering gun/ iron, solder wire, and much more. But who is going to do the job? If you are competent and confident in your skills, you can do it yourself. This will save you the labor cost as well as time. All you need to worry about purchasing the parts.
However, if you take it to a repair shop, then be prepared to spend some money. In fact, you will be surprised that labor might cost more than the parts. Buying the parts yourself is usually cheaper. However, some shops always insist that they buy the accessories themselves, of course, to make a margin from it. The cost of labor may range from $50-100 depending on the installer and the region.
Before settling for any specific service provider, it pays to look around and compare prices. Always deal with a competent and reputable company.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I install a new Audio jack, can I still use my steering wheel controls?
You sure can if you install a special adapter. And when you buy any stereo from us, you'll get a deep discount on the steering wheel control adapter for your car. See our article about Steering Wheel Audio Control Adapters for more information.
I can’t see the display when the sun shines on it. Are there displays that are easier to read in direct sunlight?
We’ve found that displays that let you tilt the face, often found on DVD and navigation receivers, are the best solution. These receivers also give you large touchscreens, let you play movies while you’re parked, and give you a slew of other fantastic features. If your receiver can do it, try changing the color of the display or adjusting the brightness and contrast to help cut through the glare. To see these suggestions in action, watch our video about avoiding glare on the display. Can I use Bluetooth to stream music and make phone calls?
Absolutely! And you can often do even more, like running and controlling Internet apps. Basically, a Bluetooth connection works as a bridge between your phone and your dash. Even if your receiver doesn’t offer control over apps, you can stream the audio from your phone and play it in your car. Our video about Bluetooth in the car will give you all the details.
Can my factory speakers handle a high-powered CD receiver?
Your factory speakers should be able to handle the output from an aftermarket CD receiver, but there are limits to their performance. Turn up your new radio with the car sitting still, make a note of the volume level at which your factory speakers start to distort, and avoid cranking the radio up past that point.
How much power does my factory system have?
While we don't have exact power ratings for the systems in specific vehicles, we can tell you that factory systems usually have less power than aftermarket units.
How much power do I need to get optimum performance from my car's sound system? Since every car stereo is different, there's no magic wattage formula. As long as you stay within the recommended power range of your speakers, increasing power will always add richness and depth to your music. Compare a spinet piano to a concert grand. The small piano is good enough to play music clearly, but move up to a grand and you'll gain better tone, greater harmonic detail, and more volume. The larger instrument is simply more powerful.
How can I be sure the radio I want will fit into my dash?
You can count on Auto Sounds to have stereo fit information for just about every car, truck and van on the road today. Our Vehicle Research team has gathered data on thousands of vehicles, and your car or truck is probably one of them.

Kia Rio For Sale: Reasons To Buy
Although the Kia Rio for sale is a cheap ride, it's far from just a basic means of transportation. This subcompact car's great safety scores and unexpected passenger room make it a good choice for budget-minded families. Responsive handling also enables the Rio to offer a surprisingly fun driving experience. While the sedan version gives you the security of a trunk, some drivers will be lured by the hatchback's extra storage space. Does the new Rio stand apart from the competition?Reasons to Buy a used Kia Rio
1. Feels Strong Around Town Every (2019) Kia Rio comes equipped with a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine. It develops a total of 130 horsepower. Although the Rio isn't fast, Kia tuned it to develop good acceleration around town. This is among the reasons why the Rio is such a highly recommended city car. You will be able to effortlessly scoot from one traffic light to the next. The six-speed automatic transmission does a good job of keeping the Rio in its ideal powerband.
2. Smooth and Confident Economy Car The Kia Rio rides far better than the typical economy car. Its suspension system makes harsh roads feel a bit smoother. Although the Rio is geared towards urban dwellers, it rides smooth enough for highway trips. Surefooted handling further separates the Rio from most cheap cars. Despite the Rio's basic tires, it feels very controlled. Drivers will certainly like its thick-rimmed steering wheel, which enables you to maintain a sturdy grip.
3. A Fuel Saver Folks in the market for a small commuter car aren't looking to spend a lot of money on fuel. While some cars in the class are better on fuel, the 2019 Kia Rio certainly fits the description of an efficient vehicle. According to the latest EPA ratings, drivers can expect the Rio to return around 8.4l/100km in town and 6.4l/100km on the highway.
4. Good Automobile for the Money The Kia Rio is perfect for young people just entering the job market. It's also great for the families looking to save cash. Kia's 160 000 km powertrain warranty covers the engine and transmission for quite a long time. There's also just enough standard equipment to keep you satisfied.
5. Not a Bad-Looking Ride For the price, the Kia Rio is not a bad-looking car. While you are forced to go without a cool set of alloy wheels, most people consider the Rio to be a rather attractive ride. It's front fascia looks especially sporty. A mesh grille comes standard. If you step up to the S trim, you'll be rewarded with LED headlamps and LED Positioning Lights. Premium colours, such as Aurora Black and Currant Red, further help liven up the Rio's appearance.
6. Can Accommodate Families Subcompact cars are great for driving from point A to point B. However, the Kia Rio isn't just a cheap ride for college students. It also proves to be an accommodating family vehicle. Once you step inside the new Rio, expect to be surprised by its generous amount of passenger space. This car will have no trouble hauling around four adults. There's also enough room in the centre console to store smartphones.
7. Impressive Safety Scores for a Small Car In the past, small cars were deemed by many to be less safe. Fortunately, things have changed for the better. Chosen as a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS, the Kia Rio definitely aces the most critical crash tests. Its front crash prevention is considered by the IIHS to be superior. The available LED headlights also received a good rating for nighttime visibility. Opting for the Technology package equips the S model with automated emergency braking.
8. Infotainment System is Worth the Extra Cash In order to get Kia's upgraded infotainment system, you must step up to the S trim. It comes equipped with a noticeably larger 7.0-inch touch screen. You'll also receive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone support. Because the voice controls work so well, you're don't have to divert your attention away from the road.
9. Good Sound System on S Model Although the 2019 Kia Rio doesn't offer a cutting-edge stereo system, a more pleasing system is found on the S model. It features a total of six speakers with front tweeters. Music listeners give the system a high rating for its clear sound clarity. Although the system may not produce a lot of deep bass, there's not any distortion.
Conclusion If you're looking to keep your car payments low, the Kia Rio for sale is certainly a solid option. It's a good car for running around town. Great warranty coverage further elevates the Rio's appeal. While you can save some cash by choosing the base model, don't hesitate to step up to the better equipped Rio S.

What's the used Volkswagen Polo hatchback like?
What’s so clever about the VW Polo for sale is that it shares many of the attributes that buyers love about its larger sibling, the Volkswagen Golf, but in a smaller and cheaper to run package. Trouble is, the used small car class is a highly competitive one, packed with rivals, so it's a good job the Polo distinguishes itself by having an added layer of sophistication about it, without costing as much as an Audi A1. The used Polo is one of the best small cars for tackling big trips. In a 2014 facelift, that engine was later replaced by a 1.0-litre with 59bhp or 74bhp. The 74bhp version is okay for town work but runs out of puff on the motorway. In the original line-up, there was also a bigger 1.4-litre unit that's much happier, but it’s the 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre turbo petrol engines from 2014 onwards that make the most sense; they’re smooth and quiet, but also fuel-efficient. The diesel engines, particularly the Bluemotion models, are great if you do lots of miles, since they return fantastic fuel economy figures. The Polo comes in a number of flavours: S, S A/C, Moda, SE, Bluemotion, SEL and R-Line. We'd avoid S models because they're very basic and don't even have remote central locking. S A/C has air-con, Moda has air-con as an option but adds a unique set of 15in alloys, front fog lights and an iPod connection for the stereo. SE, though, is a far better choice; it comes with 15in alloy wheels, air-con and electric door mirrors.
On top of the standard equipment, Bluemotion versions mostly add fuel-saving aerodynamics and technology, but also add cruise control. R-Line trim provides sportier exterior and interior features, while top-spec SEL has 16in alloys, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake, a front centre armrest and extra storage drawers under the front seats.
Revised 2014 cars in SE spec and above received a 6.5in colour touchscreen infotainment system. With the optional Car-Net system, you can connect your smartphone via a USB connection, supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or MirrorLink smartphone integration. Match came in later to replace SE and Moda, adding cruise control, rear parking sensors and front foglights. Match Edition became available from 2017 onwards and added the Convenience Pack, which included automatic lights, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, auto wipers, electric folding mirrors, front parking sensors and Car-Net as standard.
BlueGT is the only model to get the 1.4 TSI petrol engine that uses cylinder deactivation technology to save fuel, while the GTI has model-specific exterior look, sports suspension and 17in alloys.
Thanks to its composed ride, excellent visibility and light controls, the Polo is an easy car to drive in town. Keen drivers, however, will be better off with the Fiesta, which is more composed in bends and has sharper steering. However, the Polo is very refined for a small car, making it a great choice for those who regularly have to commute on the motorway.
Used three- and five-door versions are in plentiful supply, both offering more room for passengers than the equivalent Fiesta. The Polo's driving position offers loads of adjustment, with even the entry-level S version having a height-adjustable driver's seat. The boot is a decent size, although Bluemotion models do without split-folding rear seats in order to save weight, and therefore maximise fuel economy.
Notable accolades for this generation of Polo include being voted European Car the Year in 2010 and scoring top marks in Euro NCAP’s crash tests, with all models being fitted with electronic stability control as standard. Article from Used Car Chat

TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
More beautiful than ever, new Camry remains The 2019 Toyota Camry is a must-have family sedan that is difficult to compete with if you consider its reputation cast in concrete. But beware, it is a solid reputation but if you find yourself in a segment neglected by large numbers of consumers, missing for the most fertile terrain of SUVs, survival is not guaranteed.
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
But give back to Caesar ... Toyota has always managed to make its vehicle attractive and pleasing to the masses, and that's why you necessarily know someone around you driving a Camry. Perhaps because of market trends leaning towards utility models, the company also realized that reliability was not enough. But this latest generation of the model is really more attractive, standing out from its competition with a bolder and more athletic style than ever before. Toyota has divided its range into nine trim levels with sportier versions including the SE, XSE and XSE V6 which have a slightly different design from the rest of the range. We find on these versions a more aggressive calender, for example. Toyota also offers quieter versions with a more stretched grille as we found on the vehicle we drove, the XLE (also available in hybrid).
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
The Camry XLE receives a front-wheel drive system with the Traction Control System (TRAC), as well as the Navigation Package (priced at $ 2740). There's a panoramic sunroof, automatic two-zone climate control, and 18 "aluminum wheels (with the Navigation Package, or 17" wheels). This eighth generation of the Camry introduced for the first time in 2017 has been embellished and took advantage of small changes to renew its appeal, although we do not speak here of radical changes. Everything is built on Toyota's new modular platform (TNGA), which is shared with the Toyota Corolla 2020. A comfortable and well-thought-out interior The XLE version I was able to test is quite luxurious on the inside and that's where we tick when compared to the entry-level finishes which are still far less luxurious than the more expensive versions. This "luxury" design for the XLE may well be the competitive edge for the 2019 Camry. The cabin of our model was composed of an elegant beige leather which makes this Toyota inviting and comfortable.
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
Although we may have to complain about the dashboard that lacks some inspiration, we welcome Toyota's effort to give this general-purpose car a distinctive atmosphere and, among other things, wood finishes that the we found before only among luxury brands. The door openings are wide and the thresholds easy to cross, as one is entitled to expect from a Toyota sedan. Once seated in the cabin of the Camry space is quite generous - again, not surprising, given the main purpose of this model. The Camry remains a large sedan and its folded chest offers a large cargo space, admittedly less than some competitors, but it even gets a good rating. That's one of the reasons it sells so well. The interior is ergonomic. There are many small storage well organized to keep what you want to keep nearby like the wallet, phone and other essentials.
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
There are charging ports and USB connectors, but also a stereo JBL, a Wifi point, a 7.0-inch touchscreen interface Entune 3.0 for central control series and also available in improved version for the XLE and the XSE (this is called an 8.0-inch screen). Competent and fast, Entune remains a little difficult to grasp. It takes time to sort orders and we do not always find quickly what we want - which is problematic for impatient people like me. CarPlay yes, Android Auto no Among the most notable new features, there is Apple CarPlay, now includes series; unfortunately Android Auto is still not present at the time when it becomes commonplace. Safety remains one of the most important aspects of the Camry, which remains one of the most well-equipped mid-size sedans in terms of equipment and features. Each model benefits from the Toyota Safety Sense package that includes a collision alert, automated braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assistance, or adaptive cruise control. Toyota's decision to make Series Assist technologies across the range needs to be highlighted and commended.
Overall, we find in Camry XLE a surprising interior for a vehicle of this category. It is a nice cabin overall, well organized and embellished with touches of upscale carefully thought without claiming excessive luxury. The irony, however, is that its high quality makes it hard to release the basic versions, which they do a little hard ...
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
Mechanical and fuel consumption The XLE has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 28 horsepower and 16 lb-ft of torque compared to the outgoing model. That's good, but not as exciting as the V6's sportier version of the 301 hp model with 267 lb-ft of torque. Anyway, they are beautiful powers compared to the previous model. The engine works in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Consumption level is found for the XLE an average of 8.5 / 6.1 / 7.4 per 100 km (city / road / combined). These figures are impressive for a sedan that does not benefit from any electrical support for the powertrain. The problem is that I never got close to this performance during my week of driving, which took place early in the spring when there were still some last traces of snow on the roads. It is true that I did a lot more urban road than highway, but still, my combined total was 9.6L / 100 km.
TEST OF THE 2019 TOYOTA CAMRY MORE THAN JUST RELIABLE
On the road The Camry is satisfactory for a "normal" driving without any craze or haste. The engine is economical and the transmission quite responsive to not feel it. The engine is neither noisy nor intrusive if it is spared, but out of his comfort zone it is heard. It is not as responsive as the similar power engine found in the Honda Accord, the rival of the Camry, or in the Nissan Altima. For those who prioritize the silence of the engine even during moments of aggression, they will find their happiness elsewhere. The steering is weighted although I found the brake pedal soft and a bit too sensitive for my taste, but the Sport mode makes them more powerful. The chassis raises the level of the Camry which is slightly more entertaining in the turns and the little athleticism that is found is largely due to the new platform. Several driving modes are available to the driver including Normal, Sport and Eco. We find the buttons that go from one to another just next to the gear lever. Going into Eco mode is ideal for a light and economical driving which fits perfectly to the Camry's personality. Overall, the Camry is a little stiffer and has never been so fun to drive and it keeps its reliability for everyday use. It is a sedan configured for comfort and economy, do not ask him more. It turns out that I recently had the opportunity to drive the Honda Accord Touring version, and I was amazed at how much this sedan is dynamic in its driving compared to the Camry. If you are looking for a classic family sedan, this latest Camry will be one of the best options. But if you want punch, then there ... Price Side Our XLE model costs $ 36,645, before additional charges. Prices range from $ 26,590 for the base L model and $ 41,190 for the XLE Hybrid Camry. If the performance of the Camry is a little pale compared to its more competitive competitors like the Honda Accord or the Mazda6, it remains comfortable and up to our expectations. If we ignore some mistakes, and if we take into account its largely improved exterior design, it is a real renewal for the new generation. It is therefore new horizons that open to the Camry that can now be chosen for its attractive look and not just for its legendary ratio / quality price with unparalleled reliability. WE love - Successful exterior design - Spacious interior - Premium high-end finishes - Apple CarPlay standard - Comfortable ride We like less - The quality of mediocre materials for lower finishes - No Android Auto - Lack of sports reflexes from Blogger https://ift.tt/2Mr5FPv via IFTTT

Jeep JKU Overlanding Build - My Covid-19 Project
New Post has been published on https://planet-geek.com/2021/06/17/jeep/jeep-jku-overlanding-build-my-covid-19-project/
Jeep JKU Overlanding Build - My Covid-19 Project
The last year has been a doozie. When the pandemic got rolling and didn’t look like it was going to be over quickly, I, like many folks, looked for ways to ‘get away’. Some of these plans were born from fear and doom, some from a basic need to just Be Away, and for others, it was a way to do SOMETHING during the pandemic that felt like you were building for the future. An uncertain future to be sure, but a something you could point at and go “I did this. Now I can enjoy it.”
I’ve had a Jeep, off and on, for the last 8 years. Starting with a JKU (which I sold quickly, unfortunately), and then settling into my 2000 Jeep TJ (affectionally referred to as Ol Yeller), I enjoyed having a ‘toy’ that I could go romp in the woods, or just drive with the top off. It was freeing.
I sold Ol Yeller right at the beginning of the pandemic, because I had gotten fascinated with the concept of Overlanding, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized my 20 year old, small (but still fun!) Jeep TJ just wasn’t going to cut it. And, to be fair, the TJ was not exactly a luxury vehicle. It was time to upgrade to a vehicle I could build out into my overlanding vision.
How it started
I began hunting for a JKU (the 4 door version of the JK) in May, 2020. My criteria was:
A relatively low set of miles. 50k-75k was okay.
Manual transmission – Manual cars are slowly going away. This was the last chance for me to have a manual vehicle, I was going to take advantage of it. And besides, it’s fun.
Hard top. I could have gotten a soft top and upgraded it, but either way, I wanted a hard top in the end. In the winter, it’s really the only way to stay warm.
No rust. Jeeps rust. The JK’s are better about it than previous versions, but they still will rust.
The first version of Ghost
I found a JKU that fit the bill, aside from the hard top at a dealership not far away. Took it for a test drive, reviewed it, and it seemed like it would fit the bill. I paid cash for it, and drove it home. While driving it back from the dealer, something felt… off with it. It wasn’t tracking right, and had a bit of a shimmy in it. I had brought up the shimmy with the dealer, and they said they had fixed it, but it still didn’t feel right.
I made an appointment with my local shop (folks I trust a lot), to have them go over it. They did… and… there were problems. It turns out this jeep had obviously been in at least one accident, if not several. The chassis had been shifted forward by an inch on the frame and the body mount bolts were all twisted. The frame had been cut and re-welded (poorly) which threw off all it’s alignment. My shop was definitely of the opinion “This vehicle is unsafe. You need to return it.”
I was, naturally, hurt and felt lied to. I contacted the dealer, relayed all my issues, and they, surprisingly, agreed to take it back and refund ALL the money spent. No restocking, no tax issues, nothing. Just a check back to me. So that’s what I did. I felt a little taken advantage of because I didn’t do a thorough check, but I did have a conversation with one of the sales reps there who said they had another buyer, cautioning him “this vehicle is unsafe. Please take that into consideration when you decide to sell it again.” – I doubt it had any affect, but I had to try.
Second Verse, Same as the First, but better!
So, back onto the market I go. Strangely, I find another JKU, also white, this time with a black hardtop, less than 10 miles from the original dealer. So off I go, give it a test drive, and things look and feel… good! No shakes, it’s smooth and strong, AC works great – I’m cautiously optimistic. THIS time I make an appointment with my shop and make arrangements with the dealer to take the car to the shop for the day for a full evaluation. They agree, and a few hours later, I have a 100% clean bill of health. Nothing wrong with it!
So I became an owner of a white 2013 Jeep JKU Sahara, which was promptly named Ghost.
Ghost was basically stock. Stock Sahara wheels, bumpers, roof, interior. The only ‘enhancements’ were a bit of ‘armor’ on the sides of hte hood, and running boards. It did have the Alpine amp and subwoofer, which was a nice bonus. The head unit was the basic CD player and radio, but everything else was there including steering wheel controls and everything else. Oddly, it didn’t have an FM antenna (??), not sure what that was about. But it was the right price, the right configuration, and felt great. I was ready to get started.
The Build
Over the next 10 months, using whatever tools and basic skills I have, I upgraded Ghost. Through Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, ebay, Crutchfield, and trips to Lowes, I built. There was a LOT of learning. I’ve always been okay doing stereo installs and upgrades, and doing wiring, but this build would require mechanical work. Moving equipment around the engine bay, mounting hardware, figuring out what options to do where. The physical build took months, and wasn’t cheap.
Here’s a simplified version of all the work I did. (If you’d like a fully detailed nitty gritty “show me the rust and bolts” review, checkout my build thread on WranglerForum.com).
Found a GobiRack on Facebook Marketplace – I’ve always wanted a safari rack on the jeep, because I love the look and the flexibility it provides. The fellow who had it was happy to hold onto it for a few weeks until we could get down there. It came with a full on lightbar, and was a very reasonable price. I also learned that these racks were INCREDIBLY hard to come by. The manufacturer was way behind on filling orders, and the prices were through the roof (so to speak). I got this for a good price, and was happy to put it in the garage until I was ready to install it.
A set of XRC Bumpers (front and rear) to replace the stock ones. I was originally thinking these would be needed (on the rear) to mount the rack, but it turns out the rack mounts to the underside of the body, not the bumper. Regardless, I wanted a front bumper to mount a winch, and a rear bumper that was rugged and able to handle towing and getting banged around. This was another Facebook Marketplace purchase. Met the fellow at a rest stop down in CT. Super nice!
A Harbor Freight winch. Yea yeah, harbor freight, blah blah. But if I’m going to be anywhere off road where I might get stuck, a winch is absolutely necessary. I got this during a sale somewhere in November, but didn’t get around to installing it until April this year. It sat on my porch the entire time. My wife is very patient.
A new power control panel and relay box – this is a system that gives you switches on the interior to control exterior lights and accessories, using a separate set of relays. Very handy for high current thing (like trail lights)
A set of grips / handles from Wild Boar. The Jeep is TALL, and climbing in and out of it is a lot easier if you have something to grab onto.
A Vector equipment mounting bar – this goes on the dash and lets you mount equipment to it, like phone mounts, radios, etc.
A Boss BE10ACP-C Android Auto screen to replace the head unit – this took a lot of research to arrive at, but I’m reasonably happy with the result. I find floating screen displays really useful (I know others disagree), and having my gmaps on that screen, plus Spotify, an audio interface, backup camera, etc – a huge upgrade.
A set of new rims (via Craigslist) to replace the stock rims
BF Goodrich T/A K02 Tires.
Replaced the headlights from the stock ‘sealed beam’ whatever those garbage things were with a set of LED lights. The improvement is staggering.
So far so good, but we’re not done yet!
Now everything up until now has been pretty basic ‘kit out your jeep’ type stuff. Folks do this sort of build out all the time, and honestly, the result is pretty awesome. It looks great, it drives great, it’s fun, and it’s comfortable.
But the real goal of this project wasn’t to make another kitted jeep, it was to make something I could go camping and backwoods exploring in, and basically live out of for at least a small stretch of time. To do that, we needed to keep building.
Overlanding Buildout
The next things are parts that any camper would get. I needed a place to sleep, I needed water, food, storage, power, a way to cook, and it all had to fit in or on the jeep in a way that wasn’t horrible.
The first step there is a rooftop tent. This is a type of tent that folds up like a big taco when you’re driving, but unfolds into a big comfortable space when parked. The one I settled on is a Smittybilt Overlander XL tent. It’s quite large, fits me and all my gear and company if needed without a problem, and fits fine on top of the Jeep. This was one of the big reasons I got the JKU – this tent would not have fit on the TJ (of maybe it would have, but would have added more weight in a place that vehicle did not need it. High off the ground.
Once the tent was all set up and useful, I needed to start adding things to make camping out comfortable and sustainable. Anyone who is exploring overland builds will be familiar with this list, it’s the sort of accessory pile that anyone doing camping will understand.
Basic camping stuff like a sleeping bag and the like. I already had all this, so that was easy. The tent has a very nice foam floor on it so its quite comfortable.
A Mr. Heater portable propane heater. This heater is designed to run inside enclosed spaces, so it can warm up the tent REALLY fast and make it quite comfortable. I tend not to run it all night, but for going to bed at night and waking up on a cold morning, one button and you have a very nice toasty room to get dressed or undressed in.
A Gooloo 500w Lithium Ion battery bank that charges from the Jeep when it’s running, and when I’m camped, I can use it to power lights, equipment, recharge various bits, and also power my…
A Foho Portable fridge / freezer! Yes, I have a fridge in my jeep. For food from spoiling without the hassle of ice or ice packs, it’s amazingly useful. When I’m driving, the Jeep powers the battery, which powers the fridge. When I’m parked, the fridge runs off the battery. I can run a day or two in that mode without needing to start things up to recharge.
A full cooking kit that includes pans, utensils, a cooking stove, etc. The stove runs on propane, and I”m thinking of upgrading to a more peppy stove.
A folding table
A 5 gallon water jug
A medical kit
A variety of other gear to keep the Jeep and myself safe, such as recovery gear, spare rope, a shovel, hatchet, spare knife, etc etc.
A bike rack! Having my bike with me means I can leave the Jeep parked and go off and explore, then come back for meals and sleeping.
Given all this, I feel like I have a setup that… i can take just about anywhere. It’s comfortable, it’s complete, and it’s mine. My escape vehicle. Say hello to Ghost.
Conclusions
This has been a year of challenges for everyone. For me, this project has helped channel my needs into a project to build a vehicle I’m enormously proud of (and lets be frank, I love showing off). So far I’ve been camping in it 4 times, and will be going again next weekend. I’m constantly tweaking and adding to the build.
What’s next? Honestly, I’m not sure. I suspect I’ll be fiddling my cooking and heating arrangements a bunch (my current stove isn’t powerful enough). I’m considering a better propane management, something that lets me use a 5lb propane tank with multiple connections. Solar panels have been a thought, but I’m not sure if they’d be helpful (since I tend to camp in the woods). I’m definitely going to be upgrading my radio communications (I have no CB or Ham radio yet), and I want to have a permanent mount for a GPS locator / rescue device.
I hope to go on a couple long trips soon, but we’ll see how the weather, work, and my budget come together. Stay tuned!

The Cadillac CTS made its debut in 2003 with the first generation. It took the place of the Cadillac Seville as the brand’s smallest sedan. Previous attempts to produce a smaller sedan had been unsuccessful by the automaker as none of them found favor with Cadillac enthusiasts until the CTS. In 2003, Caddy had designed their new vehicle so well that it found an immediate audience and soon became a very popular model, with some more well-received than others. Within the 3 generations of the Cadillac CTS, here are the 10 best of all-time.10. 2017 Cadillac CTSThe 2017 CTS received an overall rating of 4.1 out of a possible 5 from consumers who liked the addition of the new rear camera mirror along with the attractively revised grille. It also came loaded with Android Auto smartphone connectivity and Apple CarPlay. You could order your new model in a choice of either rear or all-wheel-drive. There were also CTS-V and V-Sport versions available for those who like a sportier aesthetic and enhanced performance. It maintained a decent MPG rating between 18-25 mpg which isn’ bad for a small luxury vehicle. With distinctive exterior styling and the same for the interior design with high-quality interior materials and a powerful high-tech engine, it was a winner. The only downsides to this model were the small trunk, poor rear visibility, tight headroom in the backseat and the need to learn the brand’s User Experience system.9. 2006 Cadillac CTS SportThe 2006 Sport edition was a 5 seat compact luxury car in a 4 door style that came standard with a 3.6-liter 255 horsepower V-6 gas engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission w/OD, or an optional 5-speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual in rear-wheel drive. It also came with power remote heated manual-folding side view mirrors with the option of adding tilt down. Convenience features include remote keyless entry, power rear windows, power cargo access remote release, keyfob trunk/hatch/door release, memory seats, steering-wheel-mounted AC controls, full floor console with covered box, auto-locking doors, day-night rearview mirror, emergency communication system, garage door transmitter, through Homelink, manual sunshade, audio memory, and more. 8. 2007 Cadillac CTS VThe 2007 CTS received an overall rating of 4.5 which was a tenth of a point higher than its predecessor. Drivers enjoyed its high-performance format with the extremely fast acceleration in the CTS-V edition. It also received high marks for the stability and the sporty steering feel. Drivers also appreciated the seat comfort as did passengers. It received a few upgrades over the previous model year.7. 2004 Cadillac CTSThe 2004 model of the CTS was given a score of 4.6 out of 5 for the powerful engine and performance as well as for its sharp styling both inside and out. It was a true compact luxury vehicle. This was the second year of production for the CTS and it was well-received by the public even though it was only available in one trim. The optional California CTS Luxury Package for an extra $1,800 was a good deal that came with the XM Satellite Radio Sound System feature, a Bose ETR AM/FM stereo and Electric Power Tilt-Sliding Sunroof with Express-Open. A second option was the California CTS Package for $1,770 including an 8-way power front passenger seat adjuster, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and an electronic 5-speed automatic transmission w/OD.6. 2005 Cadillac CTSThe 2005 Cadillac CTS received the same high marks as the 2004 model for many of the same reasons. This year came with a wider array of choices with 2 trims available and 2 configurations. Drivers had the option of either a 210 horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine or a 255 horsepower 3.6-liter V6. 5. 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport WagonThe 2010 model offered the CTS Sport Wagon which was a popular option for families who enjoyed the luxury of a Cadillac in a smaller more compact size. Drivers liked the rich interior and fast acceleration. This was a powerful luxurious wagon with sport suspension for amazing handling and innovative infotainment features for its day.4. 2011 Cadillac CTSThe 2011 model received yet higher marks than its predecessor with an overall score of 4.7 out of a possible 5. For this model year, drivers had the option of a new super-powerful 556 horsepower supercharged V8 engine. It was a big hit with the public.3. 2009 Cadillac CTSComing in with an overall rating of 4.8, the 209 CTS was available in a choice of 2 trims and 4 configurations. Cadillac offered the vehicle in an AWD option with a choice of suspensions with available real-time traffic reports. Drivers could order a manual or automatic transmission and remote start. This model was also available in either a rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive. 2. 2015 Cadillac CTSThe 2015 model received a consumer rating of 4.9 out of 5 which is about as close to perfection as it gets. This highly rated model was made available in a total of 9 trims and 16 configurations. Fans of the CTS had so many options to choose from that it was the equivalent of building your own vehicle in a customized ordering platform.1. 2019 Cadillac CTSThe most recent release has been the 2019 Cadillac CTS. This is a member of the third generation of the model and it is available in a choice of 6 trims and 10 configurations. The engine choices range from a 2.0-liter Inline 4 offering 268 horsepower, a 3.6-liter V6 wtih 335 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks 420 horsepower. All were offered with 8-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual. Like the 2015 edition, 2019 was also rated with a 4.9 out of 5 consumer score.

2019 Volvo V90 Four Seasons Introduction
Drive any of the current Volvos, and while there are hints of that old school Swedish charm, you might also get the impression that these cars are from an entirely different company—thanks to all-new exterior designs, interior treatments, tech features, and advanced powertrains. We’ve liked what we’ve seen from the new Volvo so much that one of its vehicles has taken home an All-Stars award in each of the past three years, with the Volvo V90 wagon being the latest honoree.
The wagon form itself also holds some added significance to the staff. Though only a few of us are old enough to remember when they ruled the American road, the vast majority of the Automobile team loves us some wagon primarily because it serves as the enthusiast’s anecdote to the high-riding crossover. That’s part of the reason why we named the V90 a 2018 All-Star, and a lot of the reason why we’ve added a 2019 Volvo V90 to our Four Seasons fleet.
We’re also no strangers to getting extended seat time in a Volvo wagon, as we conducted a Four Seasons evaluation of a V60 T5 back in 2015. Among the many things we’re eager to find out: Is Volvo still making the wagons we’ve come to know and love?
Not that sentiment is the sole reason for having a V90 in for a long term test; we’re also mindful of the fact that a big wagon is a good thing to have in our line of work. The V90’s cargo measurements (19.8 cu-ft expanding to 69 cubes with the rear seats folded down) don’t sound like monster numbers, but a wagon orients its cargo volume horizontally rather than vertically. With the seats down, the Volvo’s load floor is 6.5 feet long and 3.6 feet between the wheel wells, and it’s just two feet off the ground. We took the Volvo up to Lone Pine, California, for its first photo shoot, with a ladder for high-angle shots and camping equipment for props, and it proved more adept at carrying the gear than the SUV we’d brought along as a support vehicle. When we talked to another photographer about using a Four Seasons car to accompany an upcoming road-trip article, his eyes lit up: “Can I take the Volvo?”
If you’re in the market for one, obtaining a straight-up V90 wagon isn’t the easiest thing to do. Volvo is pushing its V90 Cross Country, the SUV-ized version of the V90 that is slightly taller, more butch, and (of course) more expensive. Officially, the V90 is only available by special order. Still, from what we’ve seen, plenty of dealers are ordering regular V90s for stock—a nice reminder that we’re doing the right thing by opting for the purist’s version of Volvo’s big wagon.
And big it is—big, black, and imposing. And quick. We opted for the top-of-the-line Inscription version with the 316 hp T6 engine. For those unfamiliar, Volvo has turned its back on the century-old tradition of using different-sized engines for different sized cars, and instead offers (in North America, at least) a single 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain with different power outputs. The T6 is unusual in that it uses both a supercharger and a turbocharger*, the former to provide low-end torque and the latter to generate more high-rpm power. A clutch decouples the supercharger from the engine at higher speeds, and fancy intake plumbing provides a smooth transition from blower to turbo. We’ve been impressed thus far by how well the modestly-sized engine motivates this two-ton wagon. But we imagine it has to work its little heart out to do so, and we’re interested to see how it will hold up to a year of thrashing.
* Yes, yes, techies, we know—technically, turbocharging is a form of supercharging. For the sake of brevity—the soul of wit, after all—we’ll refer to an engine-driven supercharger simply as a supercharger.
Because the V90 represents of a new generation of Volvo luxury, we opted to indulge. The Inscription model, priced at $60,445 (including $995 destination fee), is already quite posh: Its 10-way power front seats are slathered in perforated Nappa leather and the driver’s seat has a power-extendable thigh cushion (very helpful as our staffers range in height by a good foot). Other standard equipment includes four-zone climate control, a kick-to-open power tailgate, and auto-dimming mirrors all around. And because it’s a Volvo, the V90 comes with a long list of safety and driver-assistance equipment, including Pilot Assist, which uses adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance to offer semi-autonomous driving. All-wheel-drive comes as part and parcel of the T6 powertrain.
What about options? While we didn’t check all of the option boxes, we sure as hell didn’t leave many of ’em blank. We started with the $2,500 Advance package, which includes a head-up display, LED headlights with washers, semi-automated parking for when we feel lazy, and a 360-degree parking camera for when we don’t. The V90 offers several stand-alone options, and we sampled heavily: Active suspension with rear air springs ($1,200), massaging front seats ($600), a heated steering wheel ($300), and a charcoal-colored headliner ($200).
We thought the $150 110-volt outlet might come in handy, and the 20-inch wheel upgrade seemed like a good deal at $800. And we couldn’t see getting a wagon without load bars for the roof rack ($250), though they’ll probably spend most of their time in the office as they interrupt the V90s slick roofline. We’d like to say the piéce de rèsistance is the $3,200 Bowers and Wilkins stereo, but in truth it’s probably the extra-cost ($645) metallic black paint—because the no-cost gloss black paint wasn’t good enough. Total list price for our oblong obsidian opus: $70,290.
Our first week with the Volvo reminded us of the royal pain black cars can be. Though the fires raging in the Los Angeles area were far from our offices, apparently there was ash in the air. We know because our V90 was covered by it, and it wasn’t showing on the other cars in the parking lot. Something tells us we’re going to be spending a lot of time and money at the car wash to keep our V90 looking good.
Other than that, though, first impressions have been mostly favorable—and not just from our staff. “I park a lot of new cars in front of my house, but surprisingly few merit comment from neighbors and friends,” notes senior editor Nelson Ireson. “The V90, however, earned praise from gardeners, neighbors, and passersby, all of whom stopped me to ask what it was. After a deeply perplexed look—the liftgate has ‘VOLVO’ written across it in 2.0-inch-high letters—I smiled and told each of them, ‘It’s a Volvo.’ Each admirer was surprised, and, it appeared, pleased.”
Online editor Ed Tahaney adds, “I’ve driven some cool wagons here at Automobile, but the V90 is the only one I’d actually want to buy. It’s a solid ride overall and the black paint and chocolate leather interior combo really works for me.”
The V90 is already proving to be one of our more popular Four Seasons cars—we don’t expect the grass to grow under its tires. But can it last? Will this new-generation Volvo please us as much as the Volvos we’ve run in the past? A year of driving will tell us. Let the wagoning begin!
