This might be a bit long buuut some little snippets from the whole Divine Comedy - (Opening sequence, the spirits of Knowledge and Creativity are both seat at a small dark wood table that holds a model of the solar system) Knowledge: I'm glad you could join us! We are quite excited to begin. Before we start, however...a small disclaimer. Most stories are prefaced saying that any resemblance characters have to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. This is simply not the case here. All characters have been purposefully crafted for the actors, and the storylines built to be as similar as we could to real events. Now that we have that out of the way...come along. (Both rise from the table as the model spins) - (After Focal Point has met Leader and Tinkerer) Tinkerer: Come on! I'm gonna show you the best place to sit. Focal Point: (Hold on! I'm not as fast as you!) Tinkerer: Sorry! (She helps Focal Point up a small ladder leading to the roof of a small shack. There's a mattress on the roof, as well as a large telescope. They both take a seat on the mattress) Tinkerer: It's a really nice night tonight, you can see the whole sky... - (Uncertainty's gang is seen traversing the chessboard of the surface of his planet. Every time they spring up, they go quite high like astronauts on the moon. All of them move in a specific pattern, almost like a dance. Hunter reaches the final square first, landing feet first and sliding through. The group is all deposited in what looks like a throne room, though the person on the throne in is shadow.) Uncertainty: Well? What have you found out?

Hunter: The teams aren't assembled yet. We still have plenty of time.

Uncertainty: Don't say that! They are quick workers...

Soldier: They haven't even gotten their first members yet. We shouldn't attack yet.

Brawler: (Just wait.)

Uncertainty: I asked you all to spy, not for your opinions! I'm the boss here. Mixologist! Is the stuff ready?

Mixologist: It is, but-

Uncertainty: Good! Marked, Brawler, you two go and make sure that's all they have to refuel their ships! They can't be allowed to get here.

Brawler: (No.)

Uncertainty: What do you mean, no?

Brawler: (I only came to say I quit. I can't do this anymore. I can't let you boss me around. Bye)

(Without a word, she bounds off.)

Uncertainty: Stop her!

(No one moves.)

They would have a small but dedicated fanbase that tends to gather not on any major websites, but on small forums not unlike the TITU one I found a while ago. Occasionally, incredibly beautiful fanart would leak out of them onto places like Pinterest, but most people would have no idea that these are actual characters from somewhere. Somebody would probably have an image of Uncertainty as their profile picture without knowing it.

Ok, so since the only hualian fan fics I've enjoyed have been either written by you or one recommended by you I humbly beg you to recommend more! I find it so hard to find fan fics that write those characters with all their nuances. And/or i beseech thee to write more hualian? Im dying of thirst. Hahah <3

THANK YOU KINDLY omg that's incredibly sweet of you to say. hualian's an absolute delight to write and I think the scenes of them in Farmer's Almanac are some of my favorite things I've written to date lolololol. First fic that came to mind—objectification/immobilization kink fic.

Turned out that Hua Cheng kind of had a thing for when Xie Lian pretended he didn't exist.

It's brilliant, hot and specific as hell and my favorite take on post-canon hualian kink to date.

LOVED this fic—canon divergence, princess and the pea retelling.

“Must be a spoilt brat,” Hua Cheng threw out randomly. “Must be utterly incapable of looking after themselves. Must have no useful skills, except ones that might be useful to me.”

Intriguing, entertaining, sweet, and fun!!! I had a very good time with this fic.

I think most people have read this fic but regardless, it's lovely. Post-canon hualian re: their largely glossed-over-by-canon sex life, a character study of how they get from point A to point Dick-in-Ass.

THIIIIIIIIIIIS. Hualian modern breakup AU—I remember being absolutely blown away by the premise. I guess at this point I just need to go read all of trufflehargau's (great name lmfao) hualian fics 'cause they're rocking the characterization game for me. Needy messy codependent San Lang isn't something everyone can pull off but this author absolutely fucking does. I didn't even realize it updated!!!!! I'm gonna read chapter 2 now!!! Aaahhh!!!!!!!

Aaaand speaking of modern AUs—betts' Digging for Orchids. Of fucking course. I reread this frequently. ex-actor!XL and artist!HC. The plot progression mirrors their canon development well, and their dynamic just feels completely in line with canon.

The Researcher stood alone in a giant library that went on forever. He couldn't even find his dog friend, he was completely alone. He began to shake, terror and sadness gripping him. This was no longer Tommy playing a role...it actually really hurt him. Curiosity gently brushed The Researcher's arm, trying to let him know he was there, that Tommy wasn't alone. Tommy spun around quickly. A grin spread across his face. He wrapped his dad in a tight hug. Ga-men slowly rubbed his back.

"Shh...Dad's here for you..."

Tommy wouldn't let go. He hated being alone.

"Thank you...."

Ga-men felt his eyes get all bleary with tears. He rocked Tommy back and forth for a few seconds, then they both let go. Curiosity smiled the Researcher.

"Let's go find your dog friend."

"Yeah!"

They both ran off into the depths of the library
