There had been this silly idea I'd wanted to write as a fic or a comic a while ago, but never got around to it, so I'm making it a post.

Underfell, of course. Papyrus wants to impress Undyne, tries his best to prove he’s cut out for the position as her Lieutenant, but she doesn't take him seriously at all. He’s strong, no doubt about it, but he bends rules and shows obvious reluctance to do things he needs to as a Guard. She gets it, she does, but he’s just...too soft.

She gives him increasingly time consuming tasks on top of his daily work to "test him", but really, she's just keeping him, and all of his suggestions and offers, out of her hair. Eventually, though, one of them gives her an idea.

Asgore had off handedly mentioned building some sort of torture chamber to get information out of particularly stubborn traitors, so when it's one of the things Papyrus mentions, she snags it. Agrees with him, and gives the go ahead to convert his shed into a "torture chamber". Surely that will keep him busy.

And sure enough it did. Only for a week though, but hey, not too bad considering she's pretty sure that kid doesn't even sleep. He's excited to show her, adding it's not completely finished, but he's quite proud of how it's coming along.

She thinks she's humoring him more than anything, even a little curious what someone like Papyrus would consider torture. Strapping someone to a chair and making them watch anime? Of course, once they get there and he enthusiastically throws the door open, her jaw drops.

The shed seems weirdly bigger on the inside than it looks, and the whole thing is meticulously set up into "sections", a large "tool wall" set up along the wall next to the door. The...devices? in each section look like they could give Jigsaw nightmares, and the whole thing is starkly contrasted by Papyrus standing in a clear spot, hands on his hips, watching her with obvious excitement.

He quickly continues on in his rambling, talking about how he'd designed this and that himself, how the pieces for this had been a bit tricky to find, so he'd had to improvise, mentioning a few of the missing things he needs to complete it. And everything functions of course, he's done significant testing for maximum efficiency!

She has no idea what he means by that and does not want to ask. She still didn't make him Lieutenant right away, but she definitely wasn't quite so worried about him being too soft for it anymore.

The reason i say i have like seven different versions of UF on rotation in my brain is because there are several different Styles of UF that i really like and can never really decide on which I'd consider my Main one, on top of also Lore, which i have a few different ideas for, too.

So like, we have the one i talk abt most often probably, which we'll call AngstFell, because. I'll be honest i love angst and i love doing terrible things to characters. This is the one where they have core issues, supply issues, food shortages, LVlost culling, very complicated and sort of miserable relationships between just about all of the characters. No One is having a good time pretty much, but despite everything, there is still hope...

Then there's how i often mentally refer to it as SillyFell, which is basically just like. If everyone in UT decided to try to be mean and was mostly really bad about it. In this one, things are still generally worse, but having LV is still somewhat uncommon, mostly only guards would have it, and people are generally more sad than they are mean/angry.

And then we have what's probably """closest to canon""" as far as my understanding of it goes, where it's sort of somewhere in between the two prior ones, in that there's definitely still silliness, and their UT selves aren't too far removed from them, but it still can get pretty heavy, and problems aren't as surface level as Silly.

Then we have my """fanon"""fell which is essentially something I've done for most AUs, where i try to imagine circumstances that could possibly, believably (by my own standards and interpretations) make the characters behave more in line with fanon portrayals. This one's way more difficult to summarize since the changes are more character specific, but generally, as far as "seriousness" goes, it falls in a similar place as "Canon"Fell.

And then there's Tale to Fell (v.1) which is essentially based around the idea that UF kind of started as UT, but slowly became UF due to Circumstances like core trouble and slightly different events going down with the humans, both during the war, and with what happened to Chara and Asriel. (End results are similar to "Canon"Fell)

But there's also Tale to Fell (v.2) which is based on the premise of UT slowly becoming UF after Frisk has fallen into the underground due to waaay too many resets and gradual code fuckery. (Opposed to v.1, this is actually a concept I've never seen explored before! Not to say it isn't out there somewhere, but i have a rough draft layout of a potential fic abt it that will...probably never happen bc it would take a lot of commitment lol)

So we have those bad boys, but then there's also differences depending on Lore. Like there's one version i think of sometimes where Papyrus is the older brother, or a version where Gaster didn't make Sans and Papyrus but was actually their adoptive uncle, and another with Gaster Papyrus where, as it goes, the incident that "shattered" Gaster created Papyrus, one where Undyne knew the bros as kids briefly, one where Asgore's just Terrible for like, no real reason, like. There are a lot of ways to think about it!!

And that's not even taking into account all of the Fell based story ideas like the psychonauts one, the one where the bros are gb shifters, one where Papyrus is [redacted], one where there's a zombie like plague outbreak that can only affect monsters with LV, one where Frisk winds up living underground with them all for a Hot Minute, and then of course there's the AUs, like Vesselfell, Horrorfell, Heartfell, Lovefell, Invertedfell, Orangefell, that mysterious one I've been mulling and have not talked about at all with Albatross-

Actually, while I'm talking abt us, waaay back when I first made Invertedfell, I had thought about and Invertedtale and Invertedswap, but only briefly (since I'm currently mostly unwell abt uf specifically), but for some reason invertedswap has kinda been lowkey prodding the back of my mind recently. Might make it official and put some thought into world building for that one and make a post abt it!

Though honestly I should focus on settling on nicknames for Orangefell and Heartfell before anything tbh

As much as I like to be angsty and dramatic it's genuinely sooo fun to portray the uf brothers as being really over the top and cartoonishly villainous. Someone calls Papyrus vile and he does the papyrus sparkly eye thing like "do you really mean that? 🥺💗❕" Sans pranking people in very stupid but genuinely annoying ways, like putting joy buzzers that actually hurt where people would least expect them. Ultimately harmless but kind of menaces all the same

🌟 Capricious Suns’s Declassified AU+ Survival Guide 🌟

My AUs

Vesselfell - A Papyrus-centric Underfell AU revolving around the curious case of W.D. Gaster’s most successful experiment - The Vessel. Papyrus becomes a vessel for a doorway into the void, which gradually begins causing problems for not just their timeline, but the multiverse as a whole.

There are currently three primary iterations of the main story; Canon, The Good Ending, and The Variable.

Heartfell - A lovecore inspired Underfell AU where the world may not be as lovely as it seems. Exploring many facets of love and it’s perception and how sometimes what we believe is love is actually just trauma.

Orangefell - A semi-skeleton brothers-centric Underfell AU that revolves around how different things may be if the brothers had taken a different path.

Invertedfell - An Underfell AU where the characters personalities (and primary color schemes) are inverted. This is not a swapped AU as the changes are personal to each individual character.

Neonfell - An Underfell AU with slight cyberpunk stylings. After the fallen human and Alphys mysteriously disappear before the human had completed their journey to King Asgore, the underground falls into a state of chaos, eventually breaking apart into two sides - the loyalists and the rebellion. Will they ever learn the truth? Will they ever be free? Or will they drive themselves to extinction before they get the chance?

Demonfell - An Underfell AU where the monsters are all different types of demons. There isn’t much of a plot so much as a world to explore with honestly, I just liked the concept and ran with it, though I may develop a more solid story one day…

Glitchedswap - An Underswap AU that takes place in a “glitched game”. The monsters are mostly unknowingly permanently trapped Underground, and try to make the best of their abysmal circumstances.

Sweetswap - An Underswap AU similar to Heartfell in that it’s aesthetics are shifted, only to more cute, soft, and sweet stylings (cutecore, if you will), while exploring the many pros and cons of a sometimes perhaps too optimistic outlook on life.

Psychictale(fell?) - A Psychonauts inspired AU where Frisk must help the monsters address their inner demons to reach the truth of not just the underground, but the very monsters themselves.

Undersell - Underfell, but with a comedic twist. The underground is a grungy city type place, and everyone’s got an angle. It’s up to Frisk and Flowey to guide them back to a better way of life. (generally more lighthearted in tone)

Glasses - Papyrus needs glasses. It really shouldn’t be this complicated.

7S - A monster and a human with good intentions form a plan that leads them on an unexpectedly difficult journey in an attempt to save monsterkind before losing themselves (and each other).

Tales of Divergence - A choose your own adventure type story about a collision within the multiverse that brings four neighboring timelines…together?

My Mother’s Eyes - An Underfell story about a strange accident that leads to Toriel raising Papyrus in the Ruins for most of his life.

Everything Stays - When a malfunction happens at the labs, Sans disappears without a trace. Alphys has to take the news to his family, only to find all that’s left is his kid brother. She doesn’t have much of a choice but to look after this increasingly strange child herself, with the eventual help of Undyne. They become quite the odd little family…but Papyrus never gives up hope of seeing his brother again. He knows it’s just a matter of time…

Asymmetrical - Accidents happen. But how could Gaster have anticipated this..?

A possible “full” Psychonauts Undertale crossover where Raz wakes up in a very very strange place with little memory of how he got there… (may attempt a comic of it some day)

Orangefell!! It’s a partially skelebros-centric Underfell AU that’s basically a What If exploration of how different things would be if the brothers had a different relationship! Or phrased differently, if Sans was a less shitty brother lmao. It’s also meant to be a little lighter hearted than my standard Underfell in general, since that became really really dark the more I developed it.

The key difference lies in Sans making different decisions when they were younger (as well as both brothers not being as traumatized by [REDACTED]) and the brothers growing up a lot closer than traditional UF. On top of just a somewhat lighter world in general, the brothers actually wind up having a big impact on the characters around them, primarily Undyne and Alphys, so it’s also an exploration into how something as little as an act of kindness can change not just one person’s life, but the lives of those around them. It is still a Fell AU, though, and I’m addicted to angst, so it’s still heavy at times, and is also an exploration into how UF Papyrus’ inherent issues would’ve developed differently if he’d had more support, but if I managed to portray it the way I’d like to, it’d have a lot of dark humor and hurt/comfort, as well as the characters developing…somewhat better communication skills!! Because let’s be honest here even in Undertale none of these people know how the hell to just talk to each other agdgshsjdj

The only art I have are fake keychain mock ups I started forever ago and have yet to finish </3 but overall the vibes are meant to be intense, but not over saturated in misery, and kinda fun at the same time <3 Oh, and everything is varying shades of orange because…idk why lol
