Orange Pekoe - Anne
One of the original three owners of the tea shop, 23 year old Anne is constantly looking for new tea recipes to try! For the first part of the story, she is abroad in China studying different types of tea leaves and how to brew different types. She became a magical girl during her travels, but due to being in remote areas, had not been able to contact her friends until returning.
About the tea: Orange Pekoe Ceylon is black tea from Sri Lanka. It doesn't taste like oranges at all! It's harvested when the leaf bud has only two young leaves. According to the grading system for Orange Pekoe, Ceylon tea is a TGFOP (tippy golden flowery orange pekoe). Steep the tea for 3-4 minutes in hot water, or if you'd like a cold brew tea, leave the tea leaves in a bottle of water overnight. I personally like cold brewing and adding a slice of lemon for a refreshing treat in the summer.

Victorian Tea Barbie was an Avon-exclusive Barbie themed around, well, a Victorian-era Barbie having tea. However, this was not the only Barbie that Mattel used the phrase "Victorian Tea" for.
The Victorian Tea Porcelain Collection Barbies were two Barbies from the late 1990s depicting rather more elaborate Victorian-era fashion - and, of course, tea.
The two dolls in the collection were Orange Pekoe and Mint Memories.
I can't speak to exactly how accurate these fashions are, but they certainly look a lot more detailed and, well, less cheap than the Avon collaboration. Plus, as with all Barbies in the Porcelain collection, they came with absolutely beautiful box art.
Interestingly, the special care instructions enclosed with Mint Memories proclaimed that she was the first porcelain Barbie to have a moveable head so she could be posed with different "attitudes".
It also details that the teacup contains 22 karat gold paint and that, although her hand is posed to balance the teacup, they recommend adhering the cup and saucer to her hand with adhesive.

You are so much stronger than me I despise chamomile tea, I stick to black and chai, major respect to you for drinking it
thats understandable tho 馃様 herbal teas in general are like... *weird* and i definitely like black tea much better than any other tea, for a lot of years i stopped liking chamomile but i was drinking it as part of an advent calendar and i was like huh...its not that bad actually
#i think theres only one tea that i fucking hate with my whole soul#and that is orange pekoe#dont know why i just have beef with it#ironically it is a black tea i think it just reminds me of cheap hotel room tea

the thing is I don't want to be a starbucks girlie but the OTHER thing is that my fav cafe drinkie is a london fog and lots of places don't do it or don't offer milk alternatives (bc I can't do that lactose) but starbucks does and the other OTHER thing is what other app will have their menu drink for 7.06 but let me customize a knockoff london fog for 3.83
#black iced tea + splash of oat milk + change the syrup to vanilla#so like not an exact london fog bc it's orange pekoe instead of earl grey#but they taste pretty identical#journal
