I feel like I would never trust Lysandre with a kid for obvious reasons, but at the same time, would probably rank his anime self as "ok" at it given that he seems to treat Mairin pretty well while Alain is out on assignment for him. (Plus, he apparently did plan to let her live since he sent a Grunt to retrieve her. Definitely a blurry line between legitimately appreciating Alain's help enough to accept her as a chosen one, and a useful tool for keeping Alain in line tho.)

Volo constantly ditches work and while I don't think he'd harm a child unless that child has a connection to Arceus (not counting the world erasure thing), I'd fully expect him to dump that kid off on Ginter or Cogita.

It seems from various other media, kids tend to like Cyrus going by Hareta, Dia, and Sophocles. He's not great at it, but he did talk to Sophocles for what's implied to be hours in Masters over their shared interest in machines and technology. I think if he was looking after kids with similar technological interests, he could be pretty decent at it. (He could also fix or walk you thru fixing game systems.)

There's likely been at least one instance where Leon shoved a probably-too-young-to-really-remember Hop off on Rose for a short while while he needed to go do something right quick. He's also probably one of the safest villains to leave your kid with since he's got benevolent intentions, just a lack of patience. I also feel Archer would probably have babysat for Silver as a kid.

Penny just puts on some anime or plays video games with kids, and Piers has plenty of experience from babysitting Marnie when she was young. Archie is also shown to be pretty good with and protective of kids in Masters. Easily the top three.

It seems like Penny won the hardenshipping child poll so heres some headcanons.

· Penny is a natural redhead, Matt and Shelly helped her dye her hair. · When Archie and Maxie found out that their daughter had managed to get a lot of students to rebel against the academy, having created her own team and hierarchy and hacking into the Pokémon league, they didn't know whether to feel extremely proud or extremely worried. · "Uh... Penny, why didn't you tell us that your parents were those hoenn eco-terrorists?" "Ah, I didn't think that was important information." · Actually, the zerosquard get along quite well with Archie and Maxie, they were amazed when they told them that they had summoned legendaries. · Archie is the one who makes sure the nerds get off the damn computer and get the sleep they need. · Her first eevee was a gift from her parents for her tenth birthday for when she wanted to start her journey, then she started adopting more eevees and they are more house pets than competitive pokemon.

Nice that they're calling back that event where Penny and Hugh became friends, and I like seeing when a past major villain gets wholesome interactions with non-villainous characters. Maxie has this conversation in the Pokemon Center where he talks about how he gives educational lectures to Team Magma to help them grow as people, so he'd definitely be down for helping build a school on Pasio.

i think the main reason i really didn’t like descendants 4 is the characters. they make ZERO sense to me. red not wanting to be like her mom could’ve been an interesting thing to explore bc the original movie focused on the kids wanting to be like their parents or at least making them proud. but red’s intro song means very little. what’s the point in causing all this destruction when it helps no one? her little stunt almost cost a soldier his life!!!! and then, she gets to aurodon, chloe is nice to her and red responds by being mean. what does she want??? chloe is bland af, like she wants to save her mom, who wouldn’t? and we didn’t see enough of the vks. i was so excited to see dara renee and joshua colley and they were in like 5% of the movie. tf?

i also really hate that there’s no distinction in who has colored hair (“good kids” vs vks) when in descendants 2, mal dyed her hair blonde to fit in with the “good kids”. when she gets to the isle and dizzy changes it back to purple, mal says, “there i am”. but in descendants 4 it’s literally just red, uliana, hades, chloe, ella and brigette have colored hair. i kinda get that brigette could have pink hair bc of wonderland but again, it would’ve been cool to see her hair signify her transformation from “hero” to villain.

the color palette is ugly, i hate the added cgi. i said it before and i will say it again, i don’t care about bad cgi in dcoms, they’re dcoms!!! it’s part of their charm. like, it was weird af to see the expensive cgi and be struck with the horrible looking sea monster.

not to mention the songs are not even half as good as the ones in the original trilogy.

on the less negative side, i really did love rita ora as the queen of hearts. what a stellar performance lol. she acted like she was in game of thrones instead of a disney movie and i love her for that. also paolo montalban and brandy were phenomenal. i would watch a whole show of just the two of them being empty nesters.
