Rose, Rose, Rose. It sucks because he was pretty likeable as a character up to that point, but I hate how they did him. He had Leon agree to help him on the grounds he wait just a day, but Rose didn't like that so he unleashed Eternatus without that planned safety net out of spite. Like, if things were more urgent, and lbr, Eternatus's power had been leaking out for half the game already, he should have stressed to Leon they didn't have the extra day to wait before it broke containment, and the main issue shouldn't have been over a thousand years away. It should have been maybe 100yrs, at maximum.

Lysandre is #2, pretty much for just the wasted potential him and his team had. I hope ZA is somewhat of a sequel to XY, and they canonize his survival there. Give him the development with Sycamore and AZ he should have had. (Idk how much we'll get of Flare in a sequel, they're my favorite team in concept but the execution was pretty bad in base XY.)

Dishonorable mention to Yell and Star, they're not actually villains. Yell are just annoying and overzealous Gym Trainers, Star were just truant kids that had dealt with bullying and mildly annoying at worst. I hope next Gen, we stop getting the "not a villain" villain teams + a twist villain, and get a proper villainous organization again. (The only well done twist villain we had was Volo and he was a solo villain. I figure most of us knew something sketchy was up with Lusamine, Rose, and the Professor. The only thing that surprised me about the professor was that they were dead and it was a "causing trouble from beyond the grave" scenario.)

A follow-up to this post. I decided to do one for the villains and team leaders too.

I'm pretty sure what we see of Cyrus in DPPT and other games is basically one big, long crash-out moment from him. He has a low view of humanity's inclination to maim one another due to their emotions, and when he's jumped by Break in a somewhat similar moment to Lysandre getting jumped by Rocket, the game clarifies that they were only injured. I think to him, they'll be wiped out when he resets the world anyway, so there's no point in taking it that far and killing another person.

I feel Archie accepts some human death from his plans, but he wouldn't actually kill someone himself. He even puts himself between a defenseless child and rampaging Legendary Pokemon in his Masters event. (Same with Rose except he would just battle you. Some casualties from raging Dynamax Pokemon are inevitable, but he wouldn't kill someone himself, he would just disarm his opposition in a battle. He's doing it to help Galar, we're just misguided trying to stop him in his eyes.)

Lysandre has boiled two people alive in Masters (but given the secret police vibes Flare has, it wouldn't surprise me if he had already disappeared some people of the side), and Malva is an accessory to murder at least. Ghetsis has definitely killed before and feels like the type of guy who would enjoy it, plus the Shadow Triad are loyal enough that they would follow any orders from Ghetsis, including assassination. With Giovanni, if it's better for business that you're dead, well, nothing personal, but you're dead. He's not a sadist about it tho.

(As an aside to the Flare scientists, Malva tells us to prepare to face death if we go to fight Xerosic, and the team goal is genocide, so I think they're all willing to kill, but probably just haven't done so yet. Celosia is a big bundle of nerves tho so her a bit less so than the others.)

Colress doesn't have much regard for empathy (tho isn't malevolent about it either. I think he is just oblivious towards the feelings of others, like watch his Sync Story in Masters or the Magearna event, he doesn't recognize how uncomfortable he makes Sonia or how angry Gladion is) or morality, and is responsible for the pic below in Generations, and states that if the world should be destroyed, then so be it, he just cares about the results of his research. And Masters has him potentially working with Volo. I don't think Colress hating Ghetsis was ever a moral issue with the man, I think Colress just thought he was a dickhead.

It seems like Penny won the hardenshipping child poll so heres some headcanons.

· Penny is a natural redhead, Matt and Shelly helped her dye her hair. · When Archie and Maxie found out that their daughter had managed to get a lot of students to rebel against the academy, having created her own team and hierarchy and hacking into the Pokémon league, they didn't know whether to feel extremely proud or extremely worried. · "Uh... Penny, why didn't you tell us that your parents were those hoenn eco-terrorists?" "Ah, I didn't think that was important information." · Actually, the zerosquard get along quite well with Archie and Maxie, they were amazed when they told them that they had summoned legendaries. · Archie is the one who makes sure the nerds get off the damn computer and get the sleep they need. · Her first eevee was a gift from her parents for her tenth birthday for when she wanted to start her journey, then she started adopting more eevees and they are more house pets than competitive pokemon.

(Im also planing of making headcanons with Kukui and Jacq because nobody can stop me)
